This perfume should’ve stayed around-I LOVE it!!! It’s way better than Pulse the original, and it smells DIFFERENTLY from it. Whatever to the comments that they smell alike. Queen Bey should add on to the Pulse line I think, give Heat a rest. But this smells refreshing, fun and flirty altogether- it smells like the STAR that Beyonce is!

If this one gives you a headache but you like it try Pulse. I get a headache with this one but not the original even though they smell nearly identical.

this is basically pulse in a different bottle. i don’t get it, its just the same stuff rebottled in my opinion. nothing more summery about this than there was with the original pulse. hmm

I don’t rate this perfume very well. Like the original pulse I love all the packaging but hate the smell. I agree with the comments saying that it is very bitter. It doesn’t go well with my skin chemistry but I had to have it for my collection. The lasting power is good just the smell could be better. It is slightly better than the original but not much. This gets 5/10 from me x

I was excited to try this based on the notes but unfortunately it doesn’t mesh with my body chemistry – all I get is a very bitter citrus that eventually turns to a weak jasmine scent…YUCK. I’ll try it again during cooler months to see if that has any effect but may have to give it away or trash it.

The thing that made the original Pulse stand out from the crowd was the accords of Curacao liqueur in it, which PULSE SUMMER leaves out, so I knew right away that I wouldn’t love it. I’m not sure if there is a hint of coconut in the mix, but I sometimes think I can sniff some caught up in with the mandarin. I also catch a watery pear note, but the pepper remains undetectable to me.
‘Ginger orchid’ is a fancy way of saying ginger infused with vanilla, so PULSE SUMMER does become a slightly bit spicy after twenty minutes or so. From here on out PULSE SUMMER is the same as the original Pulse on me; the florals are watery, fresh and mild, and a hint of fruit hangs around. The only floral note that I can place with any kind of certainty is the jasmine note, but it does seem a bit underdeveloped – the reminder of the pear note does dilute everything.
The base is a bit dull as it’s the standard vanilla, sandalwood and breeze of musk mix. To be fair a bit of the ‘ginger orchid’ does stick around for a bit, so there is a bit more life for most of PULSE SUMMER’s wear.

I just have to rave and review this fragrance. I remember buying it on impulse at Macy’s when it came out and when they regularly carried Beyonce’s perfumes. I “liked” it but didn’t give much respect to the fragrance. Till I would just wear it and then realize…damn this smells amazing. Oddly enough I always felt like it didn’t have any staying power on me. Till I learned HOW to layer it. This fragrance you can drench yourself in. But it makes you smell amazing. I have recently started to play with “summer scent” fragrances and wear in the cold or winter. This one is a Absolute delight in the winter!!!! I have to say attempt it because you will be shocked! I love the boldness of the smell the relaxing floral pink smell and just musk that hits your nose when you wear this in the cold. It’s a reminder to me Of cold crisp flowers in a case at a Market. Love love love this scent!

This smells fresh and clean, like soap or shampoo. I love it a lot. I don’t really like the original Pulse much as it is too sweet and fleeting. This on the other hand has lots of sillage and is long lasting. I put it on hours ago, went for a jog and just came back and I still smell it strongly. I have a problem with fragrances lasting on me so this is a nice surprise. I got this for a great bargain too. I will definitely be buying a backup.

Opens with generic mixed fruit, but after the opening, it begins to calm down and the pear and orange emerge as separate notes. The orange is ripe and juicy; the pear, however, is more firm and green than juicy. The pepper helps to keep it light and add some spice. Both the African orange flower and the jasmine are sweet, but the orchid seems to smooth the white florals, and the woods are fairly prominent on me from early on. A creamy woody drydown that is my favorite part of the fragrance. Musky floral
The progression on this is fairly rapid, and the longevity about four hours. Silage moderate, wears fairly close to the skin. I have worn this twice as an all day scent, once on the weekend when shopping, and the second time to work. Nothing special, but a fresh, fruity floral. a summer daytime scent that I will probably blow through this summer.
What is missing in this one, compared to the original Pulse, is Curacao. That was the best note, but heavy for summer heat, so it’s removal makes the summer edition fresher and lighter. This one holds up well in extreme heat and humidity.

I purchased this on a blind buy. I am already a fan of the original Pulse, so I was exited when I found this item at TJMAXX for $19.99, the box was torn and I almost didn’t buy because of this being that I keep my boxes…but I am so glad I purchased this. Although Pulse Summer Edition is similar to the original Pulse, this once is slightly different being that you can smell more of this floral in this scent. It is fun, light and yummy!!! I am so glad I got it…oh and it was the last one 🙂 So I had to buy…I am so glad I did!!! I love my smell goods, Pulse Summer Edition goes well with my collection.

Just got this pinky-blue sweetheart :)!!!
Pulse- Summer edition is really energizing and uplifting scent , smells more like a shower gel.
I smell orange and flowers and i don’t get the dry down stage as the perfume disappears for an hour !
Great scent but lack of silage and lasting power 🙁
I really love Pulse the original (and i will buy it soon) .
I bought Pulse Summer Edition because it costed only 11eur 50ml on sale !!!

This perfume smells identical to Gucci Rush. Even her perfume names aren’t original.

This smells really delicious, like a sweet, fruity cocktail on first spray, but it quickly deteriorates on my skin chemistry. If it were a linear scent, it would work great for me, but it does have some soft, powdery floral components in the heart and a gently sweet, musky, woodsy base. Usually those notes work amazingly well for me, but they aren’t holding their shape (on me) in this particular perfume.

  18. :

This is a nice perfume, but I like the original much better. Compared to the original, I feel like there’s just something missing from the Summer Edition but I can’t quite pinpoint what it is. I do like it though, as the citrusy notes are refreshing and sweet. I really like how the stopper is pink on this instead of silver, it makes the packaging and appearance a good 10 times cuter.

I decided to blind buy this one and sadly it was a mistake. I wouldn’t compare it too closely to the original. It has a very different citus opening, the familiar curaçao note, but where it looses me is where the original stays steady curaçao after the citrus opening. Summer introduces musk, heavy musk. Many perfumes have had short lives in my collection with too much musk and I’m disappointed to say Pulse Summer is no different. Love the opening but that’s where it stops. If you’re not a big musk fan, try before you buy.

I have been testing this and I have to say it took a lot of testing on different days because the first couple of times I turned it down because I thought no this just smells like the first Pulse.
The next test I did I let it dry properly and it is completely different to the first one. It is more sheer and as others are saying it does have a strong pear note rather than the creamy orange note the first one had.
It is very fresh but not too citrus it still has the slight creaminess the first one has but doesn’t dry to the creamy powdery orange smell that Pulse does. Once it has settled it is thinner if that makes sense and no powder. I can see when the designers wanted a summer version they achieved it. Even thought the original would sound perfect for summer it does have the powder and a thicker consistency.
I love both but I am bummed that this is a limited edition as I would like to add it to a permanent rotation but I won’t. I cannot be bothered with limited additions as they are always the ones I like the most but can’t get anymore. Been there done that.
Very nice perfume it is not too much in any one direction and a nice way to ease into Beyonce’s perfumes if you are a little unsure as the others are quite strong. Price is good and it lasted all day for me just like the original Pulse does.

I’m not a huge fan of Beyonce’s fragrances, but I find this limited edition oddly fun and inviting. Pulse Summer Edition has a rather juicy and sweet approach, something that will more than likely appeal to teenagers, but also something that the older consumers may enjoy.
The opening is quite sugary and fruity on the skin, with orange candy, icy pears and a dash of pink pepper. The overall feeling is a tad tropical, and although it wears beautifully on warm, sunny days, it could work well during the cooler weather too.
Benzoin and orchid work well together in the heart, ramping up the sweetness and providing a slightly gourmand twist. Pulse Summer Edition is the kind of fragrance I’d probably wear out clubbing as it reminds me of all those sweet alcoholic beverages, namely daiquiris.
This composition is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, you could draw comparisons between this fragrance and many other celebrity scents on the market. I’m refraining from giving this fragrance a bad review, because I honestly find myself enjoying it, even though I’d probably never buy myself a bottle.
It’s nice to sometimes revert back to your youth, and wearing such a sweet fragrance like Pulse Summer Edition takes me back to the memories of those carefree days. In my opinion, this fragrance is more juvenile than grown-up.
The lasting power was actually quite impressive, and the sillage was thankfully moderate, so I didn’t end up smelling too much like a walking lollipop. I am yet to test the original Pulse, so I cannot comment on their similarities or differences.

This is similar to Pulse but little more floral, personally i prefer the original scent more, both bottle are equally beautiful though 🙂

Beyonce Midnight Heat is coming! SO psyched! Here’s hoping it’s an edp! I’m LOVING the Heat bottle done up in midnight purple/blue! I can’t wait! Oh and a pic of the bottle is on fragrance.org! : )

I was really looking forward to try this, like – really! After reading all these informations, about ingredients and stuff – I really wanted a sniff!
A few days ago I noticed it on shelves. You can imagine how curious I was. So, I took the bottle (to be honest, I like Pulse bottle a lot more, while Summer edition’s is quite too girly) and sprayed it on my wrist… First sniff and I said to myself: did I take the wrong bottle? I thought I took Pulse instead of this one, but I read the name again and it said Pulse Summer Edition. So I took a sniff once again. Pulse again!
It smells EXACTLY like Pulse, I can’t even tell the difference at the beginning. After a while it gets a little bit more toned down than Pulse, but it’s not good at all. Pulse is kinda crispy, while Summer isn’t – and as it’s a summer scent it should.
To me, there’s nothing new about PSE. It’s just like a Pulses sibiling, not to say – a twin.
I’d say Pulse’s got better staying power, but maybe it’s just my dissapointment.
I don’t know what to think. Buy Pulse Summer only for this pinky-blue bottle? No, thanks. I get the same with Pulse and it’s stylish, silver-blue bottle and a better lasting power.
I have to say this: WHY, B??

Pulse Summer Edition starts out exactly like the oprginal Pulse. Creamy, candied oranges. I love Pulse so I loved it but I thought it seemed too similar for me to own both.
However, during the middle and the dry down Pulse Summer Edition takes on its own personality. The candied oranges morph into candied pears and it smells sweet and yummy. Where Pulse dries down to a creamy, milky, vanllia scent the Summer Edition dries down with fresh florals and the fruitiness from the oranges and pear still lingering on.
Although I wouldnt own both at the same time due to their similarities I would definitely purchase Pulse Summer Edition when my bottle of Pulse is finished.
The lasting power for this isn’t amazing, around 3 hours. It starts of bright but quickly becomes close to the skin. The freshness and fruitness make it perfect for Summer.

My first impression Of this fragrance was it’s gonna be something sweet or fruity according to the package. However, when I found the tester and sampled it out, it was quite the opposite.
When you first spray it, you get the same citrus vibe as to the original Pulse. However the dry down is what sets it apart. It is a lot more fresh, like a Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue or Escada fresh, whereas the dry down to the original Pulse is a lot sweeter.
I understand why it’s a woman’s fragrance, because some of the floral notes but I kind of find this to be more unisex. Overall definitely a summer and daytime fragrance.

Had to test this for a bit because I was sure I had smelled the dry-down before.
The initial burst smells a little citrusy and sweet and a bit energetic. The dry-down starts to smell of pears and sweetness with a dash of benzoin. I had to keep sniffing my wrist because I knew this was similar to something. I walked into the bathrom, turned on the lights and the light flashing in my eyes hit me! EAU MEGA by Viktor and Rolf! The drydown is very similar to V&R’s Eau Mega.
I rushed into my bedroom and pulled out my bottle of Eau Mega and spritzed my right wrist. They’re a bit similar but Pulse Summer isn’t as sweet and isn’t as energetic. Glad I have both in my collection! The only thing I don’t really love about Pulse Summer is the Ad! Couldn’t they have thrown some flashing lights or electricity or strobes behind Beyonce? It IS supposed to be a PULSE SUMMER!

I found it! YES! I put the original on one wrist and the Summer Edition on the other. When you first put them on, they smell exactly the same. But a few seconds later, when the original gets creamy, Summer Edition stays fruity and citrusy w/ a perfect kick of pink pepper. Summer Edition has none of the original’s creaminess I find. Which makes sense of course because it is the Summer Edition. Haha. It has a sweetness other than the mandarin and pear so I’m assuming it’s the benzoin. I know it’s nothing new or anything, but I really like it! I found my summer scent for this yr! I love me some fruity florals and Pulse Summer Edition is fruity floral perfection. The creamy base notes from the original Pulse definitely last longer on skin than all of Summer Edition. But it has fine lasting power for a lighter, summer version of the scent. Bravo again Beyonce and so far so good on the Pulse line! Luv this bottle too! : )
And CHEERS for keeping it an edp! I would have cried if it was an edt! Ha! : )
OK there is definitely PEAR in this one! Haha! At times, it kind of reminded me a little bit of V&R Eau Mega. Just a tiny bit because of the pear. Ha! : )

I want it!! I love Pulse and the other two. Hum, that is really hard to believe that I said that since it is a celebrate perfume. BUT I DO !!! can’t wait.

Hmm…I’m not sure why Beyonce felt the need to come out with a summer version of Pulse. The original would be perfect for summer days; it reminds me of sitting on the beach with a fruity cocktail in my hand. Well, I really liked the original, and I’m sure, just by looking at the notes, this one will be good too. So far I have all of Mrs. B’s frags and I look forward to trying this one.
