Many years ago I was given a 50ml bottle which I discarded back then thinking who the hell would wear this crap! What a diffrence opinion I have for this juice today. I would even consider this nieche fragrance today.
This juice is UNBELIEVABLY SOPHISTICATED with a oily leathery blend with a warm vib from carnation. I agree that this juice has a real woodsy-herbal-bitter blend. If you can past the first 10min of this fragrance, you will smell a deep dark sophisticated aroma.
Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting well past 8hrs
To me Mission Uomo and Trussardi Pour Homme and others like these are the epitome of classic fragrance which nothing comes close to in past 10 years. To enjoy a fragrance of this quality it will cost you $250 today. I absolutely love this fall/winter fragrance and use it for very special occasions. 10++++

I have been trying to get this for ages and found one on my beloved eBay.
It is spicy, classy and a real gentlemen’s sophisticated fragrance similar in a way to vintage Yatagan, which I love and lasts well on my dry skin.
No sweetness , very smooth and will wear it in the cooler weather on nights out.
Don’t think it is suitable for the under 30,s or those who like modern fragrances.
Warm and comforting without being overpowering, a true star in perfume. I wish it was still readily available..or do I as I will smell unique.
My question now is do I use it and enjoy or save for special occasions???

It has taken me decades to understand this perfume.
I always loved it, but I didn’t understand a key factor in its make up…
I always got a sweet bubblegum note which I find typical for italian fragrances of this period.
Only recently, when someone spoke of the prominent jasmine note – (which upon reapplying I instantly got)….everything finally clicked into place.
The sweet bubblegum note was indeed jasmine.
I am not a fan of jasmine, but in this case it is not overbearing.
Now that I fully understand it, it has become a favourite.

    Goodbye Ottavio Missoni.
You can maybe leave this world today, but your style that has “destressed” fashion of is forced glamour, will live forever.
Officially Missoni Uomo was my really first fragrance, made for his name and following his creations. I received as christmas present from my aunt in 1984 or 1985, it has definetely open the realm of fragrances to me.
This fragrance was launched in 1983 (not 1990), and some others piramids includes cistus, olibanum, and green notes in the notes list.
the warm aspect of this scent is always present, the first minutes reveals a green-cinnamonized side with bergamot, lemon, maybe cistus leaves (?) and green aromatic facets.
After that, carnation and moss shows their power, with some shadow of leather, olibanum and a clue of amber, until the end.
A borderline fragrance, almost unisex because of his warm and balance, more chypre than leather, has been abroad by orlane in the nineties.
the impression wearing this masterpiece is to walk, with a Missoni wool pullover on, into a medieval enchanted forest created as set for a fantasy movie.
Thank you Ottavio to have inspired this unforgettable perfume.

This is a lovely cologne. Such a high quality that it would seem very rare today. One of a kind, must be experienced. What a find!

The “magic” of this fragrance is how it retains a fresh/green quality throughout (and not at all like today’s “sport” fragrances), yet also possesses a deep, rich base. Don’t expect an “80s power frag” with this one. The blending is great, with no “rough edges,” yet you can still detect that the notes are present. Some might say it’s powdery, or green, or floral, or something else, but that’s probably because they are sensitive to that note. I can’t think of another one like this, so if you think of yourself as an aficionado, and if you have a chance to pick one up at a decent price, I suggest you don’t pass up that opportunity! Longevity is at least good and projection/”sillage” is moderate, which is probably necessary to keep the nice blend under control.
If you want a stronger version of Missoni Uomo, try Pheromone for Men by Miglin. It’s a bit cruder too, but it’s also high quality and the drydown is similar, though I think it’s got a stronger chypre feel to it. However, the soft yet rich and complex quality will be absent. This is the kind of fragrance that makes this “hobby” worthwhile to me, like someone who goes to yard sales finding an important work of art selling for $1. Sadly, this is now hard to find at reasonable prices.
