I just can’t figure this one out!
At first spray I find Voile d’Ambre very masculine, almost harsh. Reminds me a tiny bit of my late grandpa’s cologne!
Luckily the harshness doesn’t last too long, give it maybe 10 minutes. At this point is still a bit masculine but some mysterious kind of feminine softness starts breaking through. The drydown is beautiful but kind of odd!
This is so out of my comfort zone but I keep coming back to it. I recently wore Voile d’Ambre on a date night with the husband and felt POWERFUL.
Think I’m keeping this a rare treat, probably for those autumn/winter date nights.
Voile d’Ambre has left me slightly confused!

    Hello everybody
Every year at the beginning of autumn, when the trees are preparing for their last show of the year, I bring out Voile d’ambre and I celebrate the spectacular show of nature with this fragrance.
Voile d’ambre for me is the perfect fragrance for this time of year, it has that gentle warmth of the autumn sun and the trees enchant us with a magnificent display of colours while the dead leaves gently dancing in the wind.
In French it goes like this:
“Les feuilles mortes dansent dans le vent de l’automne.”
Anyway, this is what I experience when I wear this fragrance – my favourite time of the year.
Voile d’ambre is warm and soft and feels like a gentle hug. The juiciness and hint of citrus from the mandarin linger quite a while in this fragrance and every so often it peeps out in between the warm opoponax and myrrhe which results in a festive vibe. The whole thing is very gentle and has the perfect balance between warm, soft and sweet. The dry down is beautiful, creamy and ambery with a sprinkle of smokiness from the incense.
I have been using this fragrance every autumn for the last 8 years and to me there is no better fragrance that brings to mind the perfect depiction of the wonderful display of nature at this time of year.

This fragrance is mystique to my nose. I imagine Voile d’Ambre on a woman who is not very young, with a strong character and somewhat like George Sand who was very intriguing. I can not decide whether I like it or not. But I do not want to give up on this fragrance. It has a masculine note. I need to pair it with another fragrance to make it smell wonderful to my nose. Can anybody suggest me a fragrance that would make a perfect match with Voile d’Ambre?

Here I am, surrounded by heaps of samples and bottles of ambers from designers and niche both, and Voile d’Ambre is giving all of them a run for their money. Opening is a tad harsh, but after about 15 minutes it becomes a multifaceted, sweet and smooth ambery treat.

Second time wearing Voile D’Ambre, and I know that I don’t like the first 15 minutes of the opening. There’s something in the composition that smells synthetic to me. I’ll never be able to spray this near my face because of how off-putting and strong the scent starts out.
I do enjoy the middle and base, a spicy start followed by a warm vanilla and sandalwood drydown. It doesn’t change after the initial opening, only getting softer with time.
I was so curious to try VdA, and was positive I’d love it based off reviews and notes listed, so I blind bought a 1.7oz EDP bottle. It’s nice but if I had it to do over I would’ve gone with a smaller sample.
I like it but it’s not a love, good but not a masterpiece. I will test this in colder weather and reevaluate whether I will be keeping it or letting it go.

Most luxurious and finest bomb of sweetness.
I was positively surprised, I was afraid this to be terribly classical and not sweet. But it’s in the modern way sweet. Very!
To my nose as spicy exotic wood, sugared as almost to Candy. (I don’t know myrrha & the other stuff, which dominate the ingredients-list. ) Very fine, “over-fine” scent… most feminine. Trail leads once again upstairs, along the stairs that go through decades – young ladies are leaving, and it is weekend.
May remind of some delicious sugar-liqueur, that having a watery effect. Honey-like.
Reminds of Oriflame’s Amber Elixir, but doesn’t resemble gasoline at all (as that one does). This is milder.
Reminds of the last Tosca perfumes in greenish packages, that were still sold in the early 80’s, and which were the most beautiful ever. But this is as Tosca with the second half of water.
    Comparing still with another perfume:
J’adore L’Or (2017) is also sweet and fine, but this, Voile Ambre, is softer, woodier, I think sweeter too.

Voile d’Ambre is certainly well named. It’s a warm, sweet, balsamic kind of perfume, and not a bad performer, but for all that there’s no heaviness at all about it: it really has a transparent quality – a veil of a scent instead of a blanket. Which makes it pretty versatile: it just about works on this drizzly day in June, even though it would probably shine more in fall or winter. As for the second part of the name: there’s no amber in the list of notes, but the way the dominant resinous notes are combined with sweet vanilla, sandalwood and soft incense does suggest it. It’s not gourmand but it does lean ever so slightly that way, which I like.
All in all this is, for me, another confirmation that Yves Rocher really can’t be beat for price/quality. It’s not entirely my thing, although I do like it quite a lot, and so it’ll probably take me many years’ worth of rainy days to get through my little decant, but I’m glad it’s not discontinued yet where I live anyway.

Wow! I cannot believe this doesnt have amber and its sandalwood that i’m smelling? I only realised after a reviewer pointed this out.
Yet i still understand the references to Obsession and Shalimar. The opoponax is reminds me of that in Obsession (vintage) and the amber that i thought there was or whatever the note is with a citrus edge reminds me of that found in Shalimar.
I’m also getting a sophisticated Amber Romance!
Can be headache inducing so best to spray once and away from the face. The dry down is even more lovely as it becomes smoother and has a slight plastic doll head vibe which i happen to like.
The woody dry down also reminds me of Joop for Women – i only realised days later after trying to work out what else it reminds me of.

@ blueflowers; I don’t think this one is discontinued (yet). It is still going strong on the website of YR, so make a stash if you can ;-). The pure perfume version is discontinued, but the edp is still available…. And it is lovely

Let me preface this by saying…the following is NOT a negative review. This is just a commentary on the association I have with the scent of this perfume.
When I was a young teenager Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance body spray was all the rage, right alongside Love Spell. Being yet unable to shop in lingerie stores without getting serious side-eye from my chaperones, Amber Romance was off limits to me. Also, my meager allowance…wouldn’t allow it. But one day I was alone in a dollar store and came upon a knock-off called “Amber Seduction” or something equally comical, and there was nothing standing in my way, so I bought it!
The first hour of Viole d’Ambre smells like a richer, more nuanced version of that cheapy little body splash I got for 99 cents. Now, just because it was an inexpensive “bootleg” version of the Vicky Secret didn’t mean it smelled bad. Not at all! I actually liked it much better than the original, and I even bought a back up bottle which I held onto for several years. I only eventually got rid of it because the plastic sprayer broke.
This Yves Rocher take on Amber reminds me so much of that body spray but takes things to an exalted level. It’s very sexy. It’s powdery, soft, deep, warm, and a little bit dark. It’s also pretty powerful initially, announcing itself and projecting without becoming overwhelming. And then, because this is a parfum and not a diluted dollar store mist, it lasts for quite a while and evolves in scent. It ends up sitting fairly close to my skin like a sensual veil. By the later dry down the resinous incense have drifted away and I get a fresh sweetness, like a clean vanilla sugar. It’s very comforting and feminine.
I’m so glad to have received this in a swap!

I tried it today in their store and all the way home I was thinking what is it reminds me of??? It’s Shalimar, it’s a not so cheap dupe. Totally linear, no real depth or anything in it, but if you don’t want to break the bank and your Shalimar is finished this one will do very nicely!
Got home and tried them side by side, it’s definitely it! I think this is the first ever Shalimar dupe I came across that would be so close.

I’ve developed this unfortunate habit of falling in love with recently discontinued fragrances.
This is such a lovely amber (without the literal amber “note”). It’s got that crackly warmth I associate with amber; like a well loved record on a vintage turntable, cuddly and safe. It’s balsamic, resinous, warm, softly sweet, and a bit herbal/earthy. I love all those adjectives, and I love this.
I get the references to Shalimar as well. This doesn’t take my breath away like Shalimar can–but I can see this being something I’d like to keep in frequent rotation (if it hadn’t been so cruelly discontinued!) I imagine there are high end, expensive ambery orientals that I haven’t sniffed that are sublime, but this is really, really nice and straightforward.
It sits close to the skin, but sticks around–which is how I like my perfumes to perform.
I will savor my little bottle.

sampled this and wearing it right now. I love this! it reminds me a LOT of one of my favourites, lalique le parfum. on me this has the same sort of aromatic opening and the same type of cozy, sweet but never cloying drydown. need a FB of this.

A balsamic amber that never gets cloying (I know I use that word a lot, but particularly with amber and vanilla I steer clear of cloying perfumes). It´s mild, yet resinous, has aspects of dulche de leche that still isn´t too sweet and a green, bright accord in the beginning that tones down, but affects the perfume all through. There is no amber, but the effects of the balsamic, semi-sweet notes is very ambery and definitely slightly smoky, just perfect in smokiness, never gets strange. I think the patchouli resembles the patchouli in YS Iris Noir Secrets D’essences – it´s clear and clean and a little bit earthy. It´s beautiful scent that could almost be niche quality.

Yves Rocher…
Beautiful affordable “cheapie” that I use as a real feel good fragrance for cozy days at home of even at work.

Love the opening of this, I love all the notes and the whole blend but. There is something about the dry down that doesn’t sit well with me. Might be slightly plastic or the dry down of the citrus not sure. A touch headache inducing. Overall pretty good but won’t be a buy.

This is, in my opinion, a pretty good dupe for BALENCIAGA’s CRISTOBAL! (which is scarce and priced to high heavens!)
Though this is the more animalic, more incensy version, while Cristobal is more gourmand, more sweetly vanillic.
So, say, this has a darker, resinous Moschino/Obsession link, while Cristobal has a more edible, far sweeter, fuzzy Tocade/Casmir edge to its character.
As I’m lucky enough to have Cristobal in my possession, this is somewhat redundant for me, though I believe that it has some real potential for layering and as a suitable replacement for Cristobal when funds or finds don’t meet the requirements.

Sweet smoky gooey resin. As soon as I scored my bottle for a ridiculously low price on eBay I heard it had been discontinued. I cannot imagine why. This is my perfect amber, every note singing together in harmony. This is what I was hoping Hermes L’Ambre would be. I need to try to get a backup or two.

If you want to get noticed than this is a good choice. I love this smoky, sweet fragrance. I don t recommend to wear this in an office.

Voile d’Ambre is a woodsy/musky/smoky perfume. It’s an EDP, and like almost all EDPs from the Secret d’Essences collection, one spritz can go a VERY long way. It’a strong mature and mysterious scent suitable for the winter. It has a good projection and it’s quite long lasting. Awesome quality for the price!
I have a love-hate relationship with Voile d’Ambre. It gives me a Calvin Klein Obsession and Dior Addict vibe, which I both love for the colder days but at the same time it’s too leathery and smoky and it becomes a little harsh for my nose. So today I decided to make an experiment and add a vanilla layer with it to see if I could make it a little sweeter for my taste. I wore Voile d’Ambre and then added YR Vanilla from the Plaisirs Nature line. After a few minutes, the result was surprising… my adored Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme (2012) that I finally gave myself for Christmas this year. If only I had tried this sooner!…:)
So there… If you like leather/smoke/woods notes and you’re not a big fan of sweet perfumes, Voile D’Ambre may be for you.
If you enjoy Obsession by Calvin Klein and/or Dior Addict, you should give this one a try.
If you already own Voile D’Ambre and you find it a little too harsh, like me, you can try smooth it by adding some vanilla. (I can’t promise VdA and vanilla will smell like D&G Pour Femme on everyone because it depends on our skin chemistry, but it’s very likely that you find it more enjoyable since the vanilla helps masking the sharper notes).

You’d better REALLY like Amber and Vanilla to take on Voile de Ambre. Your office mates had better like them too!
(Full disclosure, I love the hell out of this perfume but it is a *beast*! It lasts all day on me with completely enormous sillage.)

  25. :

It’s not bad. Sweet, ambery, bit of urinal cake. I don’t dislike it, though.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t see much of Shalimar in this one, not even a “gentle” version or what have you. It is a silky, oily, golden amber, resinous, balsamic, impossibly soft… essentially it smells exactly like I expected. I could imagine dumping some of this into a bath.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

Starts out citrusy and slightly soapy, dries down to a warm ambery scent with a tiny tinge of smoke. There’s an annoying plasticky note in the background, but it goes away after an hour or two and that’s when this fragrance is at its best. Unfortunately, I don’t get the spiciness at all. It’s mellow and very wearable. However, it’s a bit “blurry” and lacks a distinct character. I ended up giving it away to someone who appreciates its quiet charm more. I keep on using the VdA shower gel, though; it’s quite true to the perfume, but somehow better.
The performance is allright for a YR fragrance. Moderate longevity and stays pretty close to skin.

Balmy, spicy, incensey, oriental , smokey vanilla and amber . Reminds me of a mix of Shalimar and Roberto Cavalli (with gold initial-lid). Has an vintage old Hollywood feel to it, but without the heavy and alcohol-infused formaldehyd which many old classics has.
Feels like a young take on an old scent – could easily go as Shalimar L’eau or Légére or something like that IMO . Projects very well and lasts for ages . Very well done, Yves Rocher

I gave my bottle to my mother since it has a note I just cannot handle.
It smells pleasant on other people, like a spicy ambery vanilla. Very nice indeed.
    Sillage and longevity are good.

One of my favourite resinous perfumes ever. This little beauty is a sweet, cosy, slightly smoky balsam. A gentle Shalimar if you will. A caramelised, slightly spiced amber. Simple on its own, very autumnal, or exquisite when layered with other orientals or florals. It does not smack you in the face. Sillage and longevity are moderate on my skin. I love this. A definite repurchase. Thanks to a swap I got my first taste of this. No turning back now. Thumbs up Yves Rocher!

Received this today. And being a fan of amber, I don’t know why I waited so long to get one of these. I am a HUGE fan of Yve Rocher’s Ambre Noir for men…and I find the Voile de Ambre to be it’s sister. I cannot wait to layer them together !!! I now need to order the shower gel too, lol !!! This scent is medium range amber/vanilla-ish….but just right, not overly sweet and for sure not cloying at all. Very pleasing scent, and I recommend this scent !!! Will have to have a full wearing to determine sillage/longevity, but I can “guess” that it will be moderate at best. All in all, a very classic good scent.

This was a gift from my lovely sister in law,and turns out that she knows my appetite better than myself..I liked it from the first sniff but it grows on me and is such an addictive scent that now I looove it
Yves rocher is not my favorite perfume brand, but it has some very high quality fragrances with reasonable price, which I really love to find..voile d’Ambre is one them for sure..actually this is my most favorite yves rocher
It opens kind of fresh and citrusy, reminding Hermes merveilles amber, but middle and base notes reminds me shalimar’s vanilla base, which I adore..actually it doesn’t have other factors that I don’t like in shalimars, just that soft,Smokey powdery vanilla which I find very cozy, charming and lovely
Yves rocher voile d’ambre is not that ambery to my nose,it’s a combination of spicy sweet amber, soft, smokey powdery vanilla, creamy sandalwood and some myrrh..thanks god patchouli doesn’t standout.it’s rich, opulent, powdery, sexy yet inoffensive, rounded, pleasant, soothing, kind of classic and very cost worthy.indeed I find it much better than similar expensive fragrances
Longevity and sillage are great..it’s a sillage monster on my skin, yet it has a softness and freshness that prevents it from becoming cloying
    ❤❤❤❤
P.s:it can pass as unisex IMO

Not one of the best ambers out there. Goes on citrus and bug spray then cheap vanilla; dries down a little rough around the edges and sharp but into a softer amber with good projection. It came together much better a couple of hours later. I actually put it on at 7 a.m. and went out to lunch at 11:30. Two people complimented me. One lady asked if it was Chanel No. 5. Doesn’t even smell close but she thought it was yummy. I don’t actually like Chanel; so, I was a bit insulted. 🙂

Rich, warm, deep amber. Not heavy, not cloying, a bit sweet, balmy but very sheer and feminine.Patchouli is not strong here. Vanilla and sandalwood in a warm drydown. Longlasting with a good sillage. Love at first sight ( sniff).

Not my type of fragrance at first. I got intruiged by the reviews. I tried it and I most certainly love it. I was hesitant at first but we got to know each other in a week or so.
Now I am interested in trying out this type of fragrances, wonderfull.

This is stunning – and I don’t even like amber to begin with. For me amber perfumes never had an appeal, because I need my perfumes to evoke feelings, pictures, moods, whatever, and amber perfumes were always very dull and uninteresting to my nose. Ambers, cashmere cardigans, pearls and buns – I was never that kind of girl who could pull these off. Now I think I found my amber. Voile d’Ambre is absolutely beautiful, balmy, sensual, rich and sheer at the same time. When I smell it, I think of a warm summer evening next to the ocean, watching the sunset, and being happy with yourself and with the moment. Oh, and Springsteens Waitin’ On A Sunny Day plays in the background.

  39. :

Rich, opulent, sweet are the words that come to mind when I sniff this.
I found this fragrance really interesting, sometimes I smell more of a smoky amber, other times it’s pure sweet vanilla. Depending on the weather maybe? Although I couldn’t understand Voile d’Ambre completely, it impresses me a lot beeing so inexpensive.
Its drydown is to die for, deep, warm, sensual blend of resins and sandalwood. One of the sexiest perfumes I own. Beautiful!
Well done Yves Rocher, and please, never discontinue this one!

The composition is rich and perfectly balanced, it is round and mild, and it remains clear through the hours.

If Ciara had a baby w/ CK Obsession, this would be that baby.
If you like Ciara (I used to, way back in the day, but do not care for it at all now, I just recently discovered) and/or Obsession, you will most likely like Voile d’Ambre
It is a nice, sweet, warm scent.
It isn’t bad, but it is potent. Makes my head ache a bit.

Warm sweet amber goodness! A swap with a lovely lady led me to be able to have a bottle of this! Its soooo lovely and sweet! Thinking of layering this with Vanilla Noir! Happy i have it!!!!! I think this is actually a very nice vanilla itself ,along with incense, such a beautiful combo! I see the Shalimar connection.I would say anyone who wants to like and wear Shalimar but finds it too much, try this baby! Its perfect!

The sensual velvety veil clinging to your skin. It is everything it says here as main accords: balsamic, smokey, warm spicy, sweet and woody with a luscious, smooth amber golden glamour. It’s strong and rich yet delicate and soft at the same time. It opens spicy and fresh green but very soon, within few minutes, it settles to a soft vanilla touch entering the woody territory on an autumnal warm sunshine day. It fits as a cashmere cloak embrassing you along with the sun’s rays of its first stage to the darker vanilla/sandalwood phase of the drydown. It’s not very complex but it’s very sophisticated and it has certain depth to it and mystery.
Voile d’Ambre is quite masculine as some reviewers pointed out, but to me it has the typical dual side, the ambiguity of all orientals: it’s extremely feminine on women whereas worn by men it becomes quite masculine. Its warmth and elegance appear both softer/dreamy and solid/strong. L’Occitane’s “Ambre” is also very masculine to me.
I love it when the amber is done with an arcaic, antique vibe as this one. That’s where it resambles L’Occitane’s “Ambre”, which suits better my taste, but Voile d’Ambre is also such a delight. It’s definitely sweeter than L’occitane’s which has some bitter-sweet zest to it.
Voile d’Ambre is a sweet amber theme, but not cloying just warm, comforting, creamy (cardamom?) sweetness that is perfectly suitable for a cozy night near a fireplace….

This is warm, yet sweet and sexy, feels like you are wrapped in a warm mink throw and snuggled up by an autumn fire with your sweetheart or your lover with hot buttered rum or hot brandy in a snifter and gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes with the firelight flickering in them. 😉 Makes a woman feel warm, sexy, sultry, seductive. Just a gem and such a Perfectly balanced fragrance. I walk into a room when I wear this and feel like such a Woman! 😉 I get very many compliments on this, especially by men! <3 It draws them in. It lures them in. 😉

    Sweet Amber…
This is a beautiful amber fragrance. I get a syrupy aspect to it which I like. I find it simple enough and not too complicated, but I also like the fact that it has a sophistication to it as well. There is an aspect of Shalimar to it as well, and I think this adds depth to the fragrance and stops it being too linear. The Myrrh, Sandalwood and Vanilla shine though, and there is a hint of Mandarin Orange as well.
Overall a really good fragrance and Yves Rocher have not disappointed here. Worth a try considering the good price.

The amber makes this gourmand very sexy. reminds me of the original Roma (laura Biagotti).

  48. :

    4 out of 5

Like others have mentioned, it also reminds me of Shalimar, not the original Shalimar, but the reformulation with an added vetiver or lavender note (funny that niether is listed). Then as it dries I get all the warm notes. It is non-intrusive. I don’t find it strong at all. It is quite lovely, easy on the nose, comforting. I can’t imagine anyone disliking it. From now on, my number one recommendation for anyone asking about a fragrance for a job interview.

  49. :

If Goldilocks had to choose a well priced ‘amber’ perfume then this isn’t a bad choice… its neither too hot and spicy, too sweet or too smoky etc…
It’s a lovely, almost gourmand, slightly spiced fragrance that is like a hug in a bottle. It’s just right! No single note stands out for me it but it evolves a little and dries down a in a cosy vanilla haze. I see some similarities to Yria.
Only issue for me as usual is longevity and sillage. This isn’t strong, nor does it last much. Nicer for chilling out in the evening then feeling like a goddess.

Oh, how I love this little wonder!
I prepared a sample for someone today, and decided to wear it. It is such a delight! Simple yet completely fulfilling, like a nice pancake with maple syrup. No, this is not how it smells, but how it makes me feel. Pure comfort scent. Dreamy, cosy, snuggly, like your favourite cashmere wrap. It is like walking in the park with a beloved one in the golden autumn sunshine (like we have today in Budapest.) A simple, yet utterly fulfilling pleasure in life. Just perfect.

It is a very easy to wear deep sweet and comforting scent. In a sense it does not smell of perfume at all, it smells gently of chocolates with ganache filling to me and somehow it just melts into your skin becoming your own. Gourmand in a good sense. It is neither modern nor old fashion. Would do as a unisex fragrance. Great for autumn and winter. It is my first and only Yves Rocher and it is quite impressive for its market niche

This scent is absolutely intoxicating – it’s one of those that make you sniff your wrists all day because you can’t get enough of it. My boyfriend loves it as well, he thinks it’s a very seductive scent, which I totally agree with. This scent makes me feel really confident and sexy and I love that about it.
It smells sooo much better on the skin than in the bottle, you don’t really get the sweet notes without skin contact. On the skin I get a whole lot of spices (clove is the first one that comes to my mind), but also this wonderful sweetness that’s slightly vanilla-y. It doesn’t smell too smokey to me, which I really like.
The longevity is great, it lasts for 12+ hours on me. I do have to be careful with the application though, because this can give me a headache if I wear too much of it.

Top notch quality for the price. And it suits all genders.

Trying to describe this scent is useless. I am FOND of her, attached even, and still incapable of aptly putting her into words.
She is strong, warm, capable, womanly, romantic, and classic all in one. In short, Voile d’Ambre has all the good qualities of the best amber fragrances, but somehow manages to rise above mere amber to quietly DAZZLE.
Good sillage in the opening notes, becoming more subtle and cozy as the hours pass. For me personally the base note lingers softly for quite some time, making this akin to a skin scent or basic musk in comfort quality.
    But more sophisticated!
Absolutely the best scent I’ve gotten from Yves Rocher and worthy of At Least 5 stars. 😀

I got one of those damp towel sample things through a swap and I looked at the notes and thought “nah why waste it I wont like this much, pass it to someone who will” I am so glad I decided to try it out! I LOVE it! Projects amazing on me too!! Will need to get this.

This is one of my top 10 favourite perfumes of all time and I have many! I fell in love with this scent when I was little and got a little sample paper of it from my mom or from the shop or something. I loved this then so much, I had the paper in this one box that I had some stuff I treasured…And like 10 years later, which would be last year, I found that scent paper and it still smelled amazing and I checked what the name was on it and…then I ordered it. I was so happy it was still in production. Apparently it’s one of their best selling scents.
Some people have mentioned that this reminds them of Addict by Christian Dior. And I have to say as an Addict fan – it really does. Like 50 % of it. Mandarin leaf and mandarine orange from the top notes and the Sandalwood-Vanilla combo from the base.
But this fragrance is 50 % amber and 50% other stuff. The scent is super addictive. It is sweet, sexy, luxurious, festive, rich, oriental…everything I look for in a perfume. I do love florals too and I would layer Voile d’Ambre with some floral or oriental floral scent. But it’s also amazing on it own.
Some people also mention Shalimar but I don’t think has that much in common with that. I’m not a Shalimar fan, mainly because of the iris that is in it. But only thing Voile d’Ambre may have in common is the incensy vanilla.
I hugely recommend this for anyone who loves Vanilla but also for anyone who loves amber. This scent is not love or hate, it’s love or like. For me it’s love. I secretly love that it’s cheap but of course like anyone I want to say that I’m wearing something more expensive. And usually I do wear more expensive stuff but for the price this is a steal. I would pay closer to a 100 for this same scent. But I’m sure the ingredients are completely synthetic so that’s why it is cheap.
Aaanyway the scent opens with the Dior Addict styled Mandarin leaf, mandarine orange and Vanilla with unique cardamom and myrrh in the mix ! Loveliest openings ever…
Soon the scent starts to get more and more ambery. I smell amber, ambergris and woods. Sandalwood compliments the amber greatly. I’m not sure if I smell any patchouli. But the oppoponax(amber) here is the greatest I have smelled in any amber perfume so far. The Vanilla is there all the time too but not overpoweringly. Some incense is present in the drydown with the amber but not too much, just a hint.
Yves Rocher I guess doesn’t get enough credit for their scents and stuff. From me either. But I have to say Voile d’Ambre and their Monoi oil and monoi-scents are one of the greatest scents in general on the market. I recommend this perfume a lot. I wish they would release
