Dont know where i heard of this brand, and where exactly i read reviews of how absolutely beautiful it is, but on my recent trip to france i got a chance to test it. Conditions – summer, +20. On me opened up very briefly with a very soft citrus, sweet one, and right away went into mid and base notes, and remained like that till the very end. i get no lavender on me, or maybe it is blended in a way that i dont detect it. mainly sweet, ambery notes. very very similar to absolu pour le soir, but much softer mellower version of it. if Kurkdijans perfume scares you, but you really dig it, tres russe is the answer to your problem 🙂 Cant say i smell like of the old era, to me Regio is the best example of such comparison, but nice fragrance overall. sillage is not huge but you detect a nice cocoon around you, longevity is around 6 hrs on my very consuming skin.

This is the ultimate fragrance for aristocrats but also a homage to the 70’s. Herbs upon herbs will leap off your skin screaming nostalgia. Citrus is spiked atop the purple plant but the aromatic shrub of lavender repels the acidic note resultantly as the lone ingredient on your skin. This is a garage queen; a liquid time machine if I may. The second half of Tres Russe is enslaved by a tyrannical labdanum note with faux leather facets strongly resembling the same cowhide found in Tom of Finland. The orange blossom note in this fragrance supports the Tom of Finland comparison billowing its floral flair against an ambery base. This is a few powdery particles short of being deemed “old lady” fragrance. At times, this will resemble the Lagerfeld Classic(also made in the 70s) where the framework is orientally woody. The accords as a whole are overpowering with enough verve to garner a different experience depending on the person. Somebody is gonna like this one. Capital TRY Capital THIS!!!

This fragrance is a real masterpiece, one of those old school scents “à la française”: beautiful light flowers perfectly blended together with a touch of leather softened by tonka beans (not just easy coumarine) and musks, a classic formula of the haute French perfumery which has the power of making me smile every time I spray it on my skin. Sillage and persistence are both balanced, not too weak, never too strong, in a radiating bless of beauty. A must-try for connaisseurs.
