My first time trying a Xinu scent (love the bottles). Oro Nardo smells to me like jasmine and tuberose (realistic but with the indole dialed way back) mixed with orange blossom soap. It has a delicacy that makes it a very “ladylike” scent, and a good “wedding orange blossom”. I just tend to like my orange blossoms to be a little more full bodied and lush, a la Serge Lutens. Not sure if I like mock orange.

OroNardo.. is an eyes-roll-back-into-your-head Ambrosia of the Gods.
This is a non-indolic Jasmine vehicle, with Tuberose and Ylang mixed in. In a side-by-side blind testing, I won’t be able to tell OroNardo apart from Tom Ford’s Jasmin Rouge. They are *that* similar on my skin. Xinú’s floralcy comes without labdanum, present minutely in the latter. Incidentally, JR is retailing for $225 for 50mL, and OroNardo is $220 for 50mL.
As another point of comparison, OroNardo seems more performant & longer lasting than the Tom Ford offering. The deciding factor, of course, is that _gorgeous_ bottle. Xinú gets everything right. Top of the line perfumery, well-thought-out branding, jaw-dropping presentation, and mystique. It’s a magnetic draw. My credit card is so toast.

This is the first time I’ve heard of mock orange, and it’s described as “Sweet smelling flowers…reminds [of] orange flowers and jasmine” which is what I smell the most. Then tuberose (the sweet watery kind, nothing carnal or overly rich) becomes more and more prominent until it almost overtakes mock orange. You can smell the “talcum-like…with hints of pollen sweetness” of Nerium oleander throughout, which translates to a slightly makeup-like powderiness.
It offered unique flowers, but could’ve easily been read “jasmine, tuberose, & iris,” which doesn’t stand out from other better ones of its kind although still a solid offering. Still, it’s my favorite of the brand and the bottle is amazing!
