Description

Yves Saint Laurent presents a new edition of the masculine fragrance line L’Homme, from its La Nuit de L’Homme subcollection. La Nuit de L’Homme Eau Électrique is described as a “wild” fragrance of a “seducer” who “makes the night his territory” and “nobody can resist his charm, at the edge of elegance and freedom.” The fragrance is conceived as a tension between the freshness of a modern fougere composition and a sensual trace of vanilla. Three noses worked on the composition: Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo.

Citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin combined with green apple form a fresh start. The classic fougere accord made of lavender, geranium and tonka bean, is modernized by the freshness of the opening, as well as orange blossom absolute and aromatic sage in the heart. Woody notes of cedar, cashmere, vetiver and patchouli, and a dose of quality vanilla end at the base.

The face of the campaign is model Vinnie Woolston. The distinctive bottle of the line is refreshed by the blue perfume liquid. The fragrance is available as a 40, 60 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. La Nuit de L’Homme Eau Électrique was launched in 2017.

I don’t fking know why the people link this to Eros Or JPG IN the navy when this smells completely different than those i get a La nuit vibe fresher a little bit .

not worth purchasing, this is nothing special and there are more quality juices for this price.

Another flanker from the L’homme series. I like it, I don’t love it. It’s probbaly my least favorite of all the flankers(that I’ve tried) it’s herbal, does have some of the original L’homme DNA. I could see where people say this resembles Eros(of which I barely wear as well) it’s good but it’s just simply not great like La Nuit de L’homme or even the original. Is it blind buy worthy? If you like any of the L’Homme series then sure. If not then maybe smell it first. It’s likeable but it’s not for everyone.

This is a great scent. I find it much more intriguing than the original version LNDH, it is sweet, sexy, alluring and not synthetic at all, I really don’t understand all this hate on this fragrance. To me it is better than Versace Eros, long lasting, dark and really electric. I received a lot of compliments wearing Eau Electrique and it is one of my favourites for clubbing and dating scents. Honestly I stopped worrying what people’s saying about it…Indeed not a common scent, great release from YSL

I smelled it today. It was nothing special. My father said it is kinda similar to Dior Homme Eau, but I can’t smell it. Will try again tho. But for now after almost 2 hours it’s not existent…

I’m always keen to check out YSL’s latest and greatest invention and this flanker did not disappoint me.
I love the designer house’s fresh take on a powdery and sweet fragrance, making it acceptable to wear in cooler weather, particularly during the day.
It is a great lingering scent and it’s dry down is very pleasing and inoffensive.
I’m a big fan of this one and I am very impressed in it’s performance on my skin and the compliments it gives me.
Such a shame that people seem to turn their hands on this fragrance, considering it’s impressive blend.
(Perhaps YSL shouldn’t have placed it next to it’s iconic older brother, LNDH)

Pleasant scent. it’s like la nuit de l’homme without smooth cardamom and with added apple and tonka, It Shares some similarities with eros but this is fresher than eros. Not a bad fragrance but it’s pointless to buy this, Buy original la nuit de l’homme which is whole another level of seduction and sexiness or go with eros which is at least 5 times stronger.
Again I hope YSL stop releasing pointless flankers and bring us back Legendary vintage formulation of La nuit de l’homme.

I can see why many people dislike it. I think this is maybe because a lot of them want the 2009 La nuit back and that’s it.
But take it for what it is, give it a different name, and you can’t deny it’s qualities. For me, it’s mostly geranium, tonka bean and lavender with a touch of cashmere wood. The blend is very well made, it is quiet and serious, the balance of the ingredients is perfect if you’re not trying to to make a point when you wear this.
It comes off as inoffensive and a bit fresh, but it’s playful and you could still pull that off in a club. It has a good sillage. People will notice you. It is not agressive but it has character. I dont think people will ask you why you’re not wearing la Nuit instead of one of it’s many flankers. They will just compliment you, as always, because your fragrance collection is great and this one is something you might want to consider adding.

Eau Electrique was my signature fragrance for a while. I really do love it. Refinement in a bottle, it has a terrific scent off the open, clean & light aromatic, just the right blend of everything the way I see it and it is highly versatile. Great cologne especially for going out at night, in addition the bottle itself looks stunning, so pleasant gradient tones (blue to black fade). When it comes to smell, it share some similarities to Issey Miyake Nuit D’Issey Parfum, but D’Issey Parfum it is darker & leathery & heavy, while YSL Eau Électrique stands bright, refreshing. Undoubtedly more easily to wear

This is a very nice fragrance…reminds me alot of Versace Eros. In the dry down u get a slight whiff of original la nuit dna. Maybe not “ground breaking” fragrance, but still very enjoyable. Not quit as strong as Eros, maybe more like the day version of Eros.

After a quite piercing and synthetic opening, which fortunately lasts just about 10 minutes, this fragrance evolves into a comforting and classy scent, similar to La Nuit de L’homme but sweeter and more aromatic. An adjective I would use for it is “magnetic”. It smells to me like a charismatic man, confident, calm.
I think this is perfect for the office and for a 25 to 40 year old man. However, you can wear it also when you go out at night and dress nicely.
Longevity is good on my skin (6-7 hours), projection is not loud but not weak either (it still projects quietly from my neck after 4 hours).
I don’t understand people who want to use it as a club scent, nor I understand the comparison with Eros (uh??).
Overall a great scent, plus my gf loves it.

@jpon91 I agree with the Armani Code Profumo comparison, thank you for pointing that out! Tested the two side by side and can say you’re spot on with Électrique being a perfect cross between Eros & Code Profumo.
This is wonderful, overlooked, and underrated in my opinion. I love the classic La Nuit, so I understand it being difficult to accept this as a flanker given it’s not the most original or groundbreaking release. That being noted, it’s still lovely and quite enjoyable.
    Longevity: 7-8 hours
Sillage: 1-2 feet for the first 2 hours.
    Seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring evenings
Occasions: Night out, semi-formal… could work in certain formal settings. Not a bad choice for intimate occasions either.
    Overall: 7/10

  17. :

    4 out of 5

Why is there just one comment mentioning Armani Code Profumo??
While the minty opening and Tonka base gives a slight resemblance to Eros, the Tonka used on this fragrance definitely os more reminiscent of Armani Code Profumo. This makes it better than Eros, simply because it is less synthetic. That’s basically what this is, a little bit of Eros, mixed with a lot of Armani Code Profumo.
If this has the same performance as those two, then honestly it is a no Brainer.
Now this vs Ultra Male would be a fairer competition for the club king.

  18. :

    5 out of 5

It is somewhat similar to Versace Eros. I’d say it’s even more similar to Hugo Boss Just Different due to the combination of apple and cashmeran/cashmere wood, the last of which is lacking in Eros. It is probably the cashmeran contributing to the impression of laundry detergent of some economy class European hotels I’ve stayed in. It is a pleasant and “clean” association, although more “industrial” than “homely”. In Just Different the same note is presented in its lighter form and in Eros it is lacking altogether. For that reason I’d say Eau Electrique is denser than both Eros and Just Different. That means it’s a bit more interesting, but by the same token, a bit less fresh, although still a crowdpleaser type.

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Actually quite pleased with this. No, its not ultra daring, and it does stay close to the original L’hommes, but if you like Ultra Male and Eros then I definitely recommend this one. In fact this is superior to both. I sold my Ultra male because I like this more.

  20. :

Was this ever released in the US? Have not ever seen it and I have looked.

  21. :

Fresh, minty opening. It is also a bit spicy. Sometimes It can be a little bit sharp at this stage (It depends how my nose feels in that moment), but that it’s just for the first minutes, and for me that’s ok.
The nice thing about this is that, when it starts setting down, you get those brush strokes of La Nuit combined with this fresh / bold aura. Then it surrounds you with a really delicate sweetness in the dry down, which It is my favorite part.
I must admit that at the store, at first try, I wasn’t sure about purchasing this, because of course it reminds me immediately of other perfumes that I already own, but after wearing it for a while, I have come to the idea that it brings its own thing to the table. In my opinion a very nice fragrance. Very pleasant to wear. It last long on my skin and it has a very nice sillage. I am happy with this.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Smells like the original Nuit de L’Homme with added green notes. Not a very good combination. The soft floral spiciness of the original NdLH is what made it wonderful.
I predict that this one is going to be discontinued within a few years.

i like this one really much , my gf loves it, i dont understand all the dislikes thu.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

I kind of love it when a bunch of people troll “dislike” a fragrance, because it gives me the false impression that my blind buy will be a bad one…But then I get it, and lo and behold it turns out to be really good! Do not be turned away by the dislikes on this one. Its basically like the orginal La Nuit de L’homme with a little versace eros added to it. People hating on this are hating on it because they had different expectations. Is this the best flanker of all time? No, but it is certainly not bad.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

    @Jaradona
Many new fragrances get a lot of dislikes before thery are even released just based on some people assumptions. This is common in fragrantica.
I meant try it and dont bypass this one based on the dislike bar 🙂

  26. :

    4 out of 5

I love this fragrance. Although it does remind me of versace eros, but to me it’s a bit more fresh, but the dry down is very sweet. It is very similar but it does not deserve how much hate that it’s getting.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

@Sigi78 It is not hate, it is boredom from duplicating the same perfume over and over in different bottles, I already had enough of this series, can’t they really mix up different oils to come up with something new?
Plus I really smell synthetic stuff out of this, i didn’t say it smells disgusting, only I catch nothing natural here nor exciting.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

@Tazahr “Don’t believe the dislike hype?”
Do everyone have to like it just because you like it?
This is nonsense, go on and press “Like” or “Love”, I know I won’t 🙂

  29. :

    3 out of 5

    Dont blelieve the dislike hype.
This fragrance is very nice. Fresh and clean fruity/minty opening with decent projection. Longevity is Ok.
It has some vibes from eros and the original la nuit de lhomme but it is a deferent scent.

  30. :

Before the review a few notes
    1) I’m a big fan of YSL despite their inherent lack of silage and longevity.
    2) I had to make a blind buy because I couldn’t find it at a retailer near me.
    3) I appreciate the helpful reviews in deciding to purchase or not.
My honest review after about a week of wearing this is this is a definite success. I really was expecting something fresher and lighter based on the profile of the notes but what I got is more sweet and gourmand nothing to me like Eros but more like Armani Code profumo. The performance, oddly, is all over the place for me. One wearing I could still smell it after 14 hours and another it was gone completely in under 2 but I’d say average is 4-6 with a soft silage. Also, for what it’s worth, this is nothing like Ultime. I have gotten some nice compliments and zero negative feedback. Personally I really like the way it smells and for my chemistry it works well. Definitely not ground breaking but that is not really necessary for it to smell good.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

This is actually very nice. I’m sure much of the hate is from those disillusioned with La Nuit in general.
This does smell similar to Versace Eros, but it’s not quite as loud, but I would say it’s more refined & a more mature version. It’s thicker & creamier.
The Apple is prominent, but the top has a surprising but intoxicatingly “creamy berries” type smell on top. Think dark raspberry or blackberry.
Vanilla & Tonka are prominent but also subdued.
Performance is very good – projection is quite good, longevity is quite good. Get a hold of this one before it’s reformulated or pulled off the market.

  32. :

    5 out of 5

It’s much more better than La Nuit de L’homme and Eros.

  33. :

I’ve tried it.. so synthetic.. only buy it if you love chemicals.
Please YSL it’s time to end the l’homme and la nuit series.
    Please give us something new!

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Welcome to the masculine fragrance world, where everything is BLUE, made for a “free man who wants to break the codes” and smell the same like most of men around him. Please give us a break. BLEU de Chanel was the first, Dior Sauvage was the most theatrical launch of all time and YSL la Nuit de L’homme is just another addition to over-saturated market of blue fragrances. Not to mention Armani with his blue Code Colonia, Versace Dylan Blue… will it ever stop?

  35. :

    4 out of 5

why so much hate on that?
I mean it’s not a masterpiece, but it’s more than ok. I like it, wear it now and I still can smell it pretty good even it’s almost 8 hours ago I used it.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

To me this smells like a sportive shower gel. Fresh but not something I would like to get from a YSL perfume…
There are better fragrances within the ‘La de l’homme’ collection

  37. :

    4 out of 5

    @Goodfella
I own Eros and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. I just stopped wearing Eros – it’s just too strong for me. I tried Oxford Bleu, and it’s better…but I actually think this fragrance is fine. You have to forget that this is unoriginal and just take it for how it smells. This is definitely not ground breaking stuff at all! Having said that, if you kind of like Eros, but wish it was just a little less ‘out there’ this is honestly a good alternative. I am wearing it right now and hey, I’m good with it! I can see this fragrance as being a compliment-getter too!
If this is YSL’s answer to Dior’s Sauvage and Versace’s Dylan Blue….I think I prefer this out of the three. I just don’t like Sauvage and I’ve given it multiple wearings. Dylan Blue probably needs more time with me. Eau Electrique…to my nose it’s pretty good.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

@josevancouver: There we go, Im not the only one who sees this as a mix of Eros and a little bit of Chanel Allure Homme Eau Extreme…thats why I like this one

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I’m wearing this now, and while this is definitely not a masterpiece, I don’t think it’s quite as bad as how other reviewers see this fragrance.
Forget that it smells like ‘something else’….it’s got a fruity, semi-sweet opening, lots of vanilla and tonka, and the geranium gives it a ‘minty’ note. I actually like the fresher opening. Dry-down is ok, but nothing special.
If you like Versace Eros (or even English Laundry’s Oxford Bleu), but maybe felt those scents were just a little too ‘heavy’, I can see this as being a more ‘refined’ alternative. This fragrance reminds me of being a cross between Eros and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme.
I honestly think this is OK. Not a masterpiece, and I get the criticism. Just giving a different perspective. It’s pleasant enough, and I kind of like it!

  40. :

    4 out of 5

    Sigh….
Yeah, I gave it a go. Two days. Six sprays a piece. Twisted my ankle. True story.
But seriously, this one starts off with a blueberry bubblegum shower gel vibe. I know. Most people just head for the exit after that. But I stuck with it.
10 minutes later…ooo, hey, THERE’s that La Nuit that we all love – AND the projection actually increased! 10 minutes more…ooo, bye bye La Nuit that we all love – and it’s straight downhill from there.
La Nuit meets 1 million or Cuba Royal, and, well, loses. That’s pretty much it. A little wizz, no bang, average projection, no more testing. I’m done with this one and not coming back.
Objectively disappointing; but then again, someone just getting into fragrances might actually find it decent. Although they may be let down by the musty finish. My advice – if you’re desperate for a La Nuit flanker, go with Frozen – at least you might get your sad money’s worth with that one.

    (May 2017)
At first I thought I liked it. By the time I had half used the sample, I was thoroughly disgusted by it.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

At first I thought I hated it. I usually do not like Apple in top notes. (It’s a cheap inexpensive and often synthetic top note.) But I stuck with it. And throughout the day i began to enjoy it.
There is something more happening here than just the cheap simple apple note.
And I don’t hate the apple and actually enjoyed the rest of the fragrance. Maybe it is the other notes that kept coming back to visit me the rest of the day.
I wouldn’t say it’s exceptionally long lasting, but it does stay with you.
It’s sort of like a teenager. Google “Nick D’Aloisio”. When you meet him you think “who is this teenager? Oh well he’s cute, but he’s so young. He probably just plays videos games or goes to the movies. Maybe one day he’ll attend college.”
Uhm, no girl, Nick D’Aloisio designed, deployed, and sold an app for smartphones. Today that 18 year-old is worth half a billion dollars.
So that’s what this fragrance reminds me of. It’s more than meets the eye. But at the same time and at the end of the day, it is still a teenage boy having wet dreams. This fragrance is Nick D’Aloisio.

  44. :

Tried it today, really liked it, have no idea how anyone finds this similar to Eros. It actually dries down very similar to Chanel Allure Homme Sport Extreme (which I don’t like)

  45. :

    3 out of 5

My sister gave me a sample of this from her Sephora online order. The little cardboard packaging lists the notes of this fragrance. Apple accord, geranium oil, and vanilla extract. Whether there are more notes, I have no idea. Upon smelling the trigger, my very first initial thoughts of what this smelt similar to, was because of that apple accord note. Going back to where my obsession for cologne started. Back with playboy. This smells exactly like super playboy for him. Ironically enough how both fragrances have blue juice, but in my opinion, they are similar if not exact.
Overall, a sample will do just fine to say I have had the chance to wear it. My all time YSL would have to be YSL L’Homme Parfum Intense!

  46. :

    3 out of 5

What’s the projection and longevity like? Would like to try it.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

Very disappointing fragrance. It smells nice but so boring and unoriginal. If i wanted same smell and same projection i would buy Antonio Banderas Seduction in Black and i’m gonna safe a lot of money. This series is completely out of ideas, as most of designer lines today, actually. I think they must stop making unnecessary flankers every year and let the people enjoy the originals, which are really masterpieces.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

I think this is not bad. When i smelt it from the cap, I got hints of La Nuit, but when its sprayed on my skin, I cannot smell it at all. It does definitely smell like Eros in the dry down but I feel this is done better than Eros – It is less linear and has a LITTLE more complexity. May not be anything new but I am sure it will be a compliment getter! A more mainstream take from the house of YSL.

  49. :

    5 out of 5

Aweful. Very poor follow-up to the far superior Ultime.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

Glad I sampled this before buying. To me it has a really nice opening but quickly turns into a boring kinda soapy bubblegum powdery scent. I was hoping for more of a spring summer scent but it’s more of a fall winter. Don’t get any of the original la nuit. It resembles to me jpg essence de parfum & Eros but be better off with them than Electrique. It’s nothing electric different or interesting. If you want a nice powdery spring summer scent go with my favorite at the moment Dior homme Eau. Girlfriend loves Dior homme eau but she didn’t like electrique that much. Will have to test this out more & in the heat but for now a pass for me.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

This YSL flanker has NOTHING SIMILAR WITH ULTIME !!!
It’s just a copy of Versace Eros (even both bottles share the blue colour). Both synthetic and boring 🙁
    Shame on you YSL…

  52. :

    4 out of 5

YSL, please bring back original formulations of l’homme and la nuit. It will sell your house brand. You can have a million more flankers but you will never reach what you achieved with stronger than la nuit de l’homme. Bring it back and see it fly out of stock. Everything else is just kidding yourself and wasting our money and time which, in the end, is hurting your reputation and sales more and more. I shy away from your booth now at stores and recommend other products such as christian dior, JPG, Theirry Muglier, D&G and especially Tom Ford who you should take some tips from or do a collaboration scent. He may save you again.
    Sincerely,
    A pissed off customer

  53. :

    3 out of 5

Extremely disappointing actually. It has no originality, zero sexiness and is utterly boring. The type of fragrance a boy in his 20s, part of a sporty kinda community where he buys this because he has heard about YSL but doesn’t want to stand out at all. You can wash in some sort of lynx instead, same kind of smell but more worth its price.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

Those saying it is like Ultime is not surprising since the 3 noses who created Ultime also did Electrique! As a big fan of Ultime, I’m looking forward to getting my nose on this release. I just can’t seem to find it anywhere in Canada at the moment!

  55. :

    3 out of 5

    Take 50 % of EROS , add 50 % of 1 Million….and you get …YSL la nuit De l homme eau Électrique …no inspiration …just another clone !

  56. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve heard it was a mix between la nuit & ultime. Owning both & anticipaing to smell electrique I sprayed first la nuit on my wrist then ultime over la nuit & turned out to be a very very pleasant scent. I did get a little of that invictus vibe upfront. Anyone know where this is available to purchase from the US?

  57. :

I thought this was supposed to be a summer fragrance by the note breakdown but to my noes it is not. It is a fresher woodier spicy Version of the original in my opinion. As it dries down to me almost smells just like the original. The top is much more fresh than the original. A bit disappointed as I expected something different. But still like it ok.

    Wow, this is great…
for the person who, for some reason, wants to smell like a soft, bland version of La Nuit with more apple and bergamot. If Yves Saint Laurent releases a proper, potent version of La Nuit, (No, La Nuit Intense is not it), they can have my money. But this is a disappointing release.

review based on a 10 ml decant from a friend.
Top reminds me of 1 million by Paco…
Then to my nose eau electrique smells exactly like La Nuit de L’Homme.
    Not going to buy this.

YSL, please discontinue all of your shitty flankers and bring back original formulations of l’homme and la nuit. It will sell your house brand. You can have a million more flankers but you will never reach what you achieved with stronger la nuit. Bring it back and see it fly out of stock. Everything else is just kidding yourself and wasting our money and time which, in the end, is hurting your reputation and sales more and more.

The below review is quite accurate,
it reminds me of a eros and invictus
clone, not really an exiting new release,
i liked ultime a lot more than this, but
if you like the above you might love this,
for me its a meh for now.

  63. :

    4 out of 5

Powdery and cheap as Versace Eros smelling…
Ultimate from YSL was a pleasent suprise but this is not good and not worth the money…

  64. :

    3 out of 5

At the top of this fragrance you get a clever mix of orange, lemon and apple blended with cashmerenwool. All sitting on the base of La Nuit! The beginnings of this fragrance are alluring and pleasing. The top lasts for about an hour on my skin.
Then something weird happens to the middle and the drydown. Imagine a fresher Versace Eros without the beastly performance. Not saying this has poor performance as I haven’t had much time with this fragrance. But it very reminiscent of the above named scent.
Will certainly be a crowd pleaser but does nothing for those seeking depth and complexity!
    Overall rating:
    8/10
Blind buy safe. Just don’t expect that WOW factor from this one!
    Thanks

first in my comments I said it is very bubblegum. But he has the incredible performance and had I not bought Invictus (which in my opinion looks a lot) I would definitely buy this. definitely is a winter fragrance club. between the various bubblegum-like scents. but buy it would be a duplication of Invictus Invictus or intense.

As I said before, it’s very powdery. It’s a very good performer
    Longevity: 10-12 hours
    Projection: 3-4 hours.
I find it very girly. Not manly at all! But the ladies really love the smell of it. So yeah another compliment getter from the YSL line.

    Pure bubblegum.

It’s very powdery, reminds me of the drydown of jaipur homme

The staff at a large department store in Canada informed me they’re expecting to start carrying Eau Electrique in Sept 2017 lol. My guess is if you want to try this one now, you’ll have better luck at YSL Boutiques or at airports. A lot of people saying it smells like bubblegum lol but I’ll reserve judgement until I try the juice on my own nose.

If I hear another one of you drones parrot the term “bubblegum” one more time….
It’s ironic how you all complain over the lack of originality in fragrances, yet all that ever comes out of your mouths is as generic, if not more, than the very cologne you’re critiquing.

Take Ysl Nuit, remove the cardamom, add roughly 25% Paco Rabanne Invictus or Azzaro Wanted and you have Eau Électrique…..mint of Eros perhaps?

Boring and nothing original with that bubble gum vibe that is just terrible and doesn’t make sense in the YSL line

I have smelled it… OK it’s 80% similar to la nuit original… It’s like the original la nuit but with something else, something more sweet in the opening with a twist. Something more spicy and in the drydown is like a version of l’homme ultime…
    Really good fragrance

Boring, unoriginal, uninspiring release from YSL. Smelled it in the airport and it has a reslly strong bubblegum generic vibe. (1 million/le male’ish). All in all a super dissapointing fragrance.

It immediately remembered me of l’Homme libre with a La Nuit de l’Homme-Vibe. It’s unique that’s why I consider this as a good flanker. Better than l’Homme libre, but I just don’t like it.

Tried it today, my first impression was dissappointing. It’s just a very generic, not unique fragrance with a very slight hint of la nuit de l’homme. Not worth the money is you ask me.

Tried it today in London Luton Airport. To my nose it resembles the original La Nuit to some extent, however seems a bit fresher, with a certain bubble gum aspect (what a surprise..) in the opening and mid notes (not very prominent though). The sweetness level is pretty much the same as well. The problem with it; doesn’t feel unique at all. It lacks character. When you smell it, it might give you the impression that you just mixed the 10 most popular fragrances for men and applied a new label on it. Performance seems ok though, as it’s been 5 hours since applying and it’s still noticeably there (as a skin scent).
In conclusion, i wouldn’t buy it. La Nuit and La Nuit L’Intense seem to be much better choices if you are looking for a fragrance with more identity.

Beautiful bottle. But I just don’t see how it will belong to the La Nuit line without cardamom.

    Bottle looks stunning!

Can’t wait to get this…looking forward to test the performance and the smell in general. La Nuit still a good scent eventhough the perfomance is kinda not the best, still a very good scent to impress someone.

What kind of a boring, dull and sorry life does one have to have in order for them to hate a fragrance “for free”, down-voting it before they even have a chance to test it, or at least read reviews of those who have?! Like really, if you take it so seriously and spend your time and energy doing it, maybe you should get yourself a life.

Houdini4, I’m not clinging onto the glory day’s of YSL..i’m on the verge of giving up if this release isn’t up to scratch.
All i was merely doing was echoing what other posters had said, their decline from the day’s when they actually released fragrances that were worth owning is a little sad to me.
I never said they weren’t capable of releasing something that was bottle worthy, all i wrote is what other people have wrote, the stuff they have been releasing isn’t good enough, especially with the stupidly priced EDP fragrances they released to con people.
Let’s face it, those EDP frags, definitely weren’t EDP strength, not a chance in hell. I will reserve judgement until this new one is released though, just hope it’s good.
I think i know how this will be,but, let’s wait and see/sniff.
Great expectations of Yves saint laurent fragrance division ?. I think it’s more along the lines of people venting their frustration with what they have been releasing to be fair.

All I can deduce from all this reviews are the great expectations all of us still have with yves saint laurent fragrance’s division leaded by loreal.
The thing they do this time, maybe will better, maybe will worse, but they always try to shift our expectations, and this avalanche of reviews just confirm the great expectations that we all still have with the things they make.
So, let’s see what they make this time, into the l’homme line or whatever they want to call the flanker this time.
    Regards.

Oh I also just wanted to say that although there has undoubtedly been a decline in originality on YSL’s main designer lines since the likes of M7 and Rive Gauche, Being part of L’Oreal doesn’t make them incapable of making a decent fragrance. Those High end leather & rose ones they’ve made in recent years (despite being stupidly expensive) were pretty good I thought. People shouldn’t cling to the glory days forever and at least try to show a little optimism maybe? It might be good, can’t be any worse than that Ultime one.
Oh and another thing…folks moaning about ‘Yet another L’nuit flanker’ I don’t get it? L’Nuit doesn’t have that many flankers does it? Unless we are counting the L’Homme line as well…then they might have a point.
This will be the 4th one… 3rd If you don’t count the Parfum which was not great but okay, The Frozen one which I quite liked and the L’Intense which was pretty poor… I’ll give you that.
L’electrique might just be good…you never know and that’s the beauty of being into fragrance…the surprise of having your expectations exceeded.

How does this have 27 votes already when it’s going to be released next year? People, please stop messing up Fragrantica’s rating system just because you don’t like that this fragrance is being released. Even if you’re confident you will hate it, you should actually smell it before voting!

You hope this new release captures The magic of the original and La Nuit de L’Homme, one was uninspiring and the second of those was huge hype job.
I will wait till this get’s released and get a sample, if this is bad, I’m giving up on YSL. I think YSL have given up anyway since their days of Rive gauche, M7 and Kouros.
Fingers crossed this one is actually good !

Bottle looks amazing! How more classy & enticing would it be with a dark gunmetal top cap instead black?! Hope the juice is as good
