DK Fuel would be the dark, eccentric, rebellious older brother where as Unleaded is the bright, cool, laid-back down to earth, adventurous younger brother.
I absolutely love DK Fuel (1994 release) And I love DK Unleaded the same but the only thing that refrains me from taking it serious is that it lacks longevity a long with projection. Now don’t get me wrong, this is an absolute gorgeous scent. I’ve never smelled anything like it. First spray… BAM! Strong. After the first 2 minutes… WHOOSH… Weak. Gone with the wind. Ghost. Swayze.
It’s definitely a skin scent. Something that Ideally, if it had the strength and lasted a little longer, it would be best worn during the Spring to early Summer maybe even Fall but unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Unleaded opens up with a very fresh, crispy note of basil leaves, cardamom and some citruses. Maybe a bit of that pineapple that DK Fuel posses. That, or a nice orange-lemon twist combo. It’s hard to tell because the basil and cardamom is a bit prominent in the very opening but there’s citrus in there somewhere as well. I don’t get much of it in the middle but the scent later smooths into a nice tobacco-suede note which reminds me very much of Hugo Boss Dark Blue (Minus the tobacco note).. another personal favorite.
Is unleaded green? Yeah.. somewhat, is it citrusy? Eh.. almost.. is it suede? Yeah. It’s a nice suede. A nice fresh suede. It’s a bit of everything but the smooth suede is what I love most.
DK Unleaded shines (scent wise). When wearing it I get the image of the sun shining brightly through the green leaves of trees. It’s like laying down on fresh crispy grass in Central Park with a beautiful Spring-Summer sky with the sun illuminating everything around. It’s a nice cool breeze, with lots of sun and fresh air. I get a nice walk through the park on a lovely day. A nice worn and torn jean jacket, maybe a brown suede jacket. It’s definitely a winner. If only it lasted longer.
For the price it’s being sold for? I wouldn’t bother. It’s not like the scent is on steroids. It’s weak. It’s beautiful, It’s delicate, it’s sweet. It’s nice just not worth the prices on Ebay or Amazon.
