If I hadn’t been aware of the blueberry, it wouldn’t strike me as one of the notes. I’d simply say this smelled like Jergen’s lotion, simple clean smell not too soapy and a touch balsamic. Closest thing to this i’ve came across would be Lacoste Essential. Also reminds me of a spicier Chrome. So if you have either those, you might wanna sample first. However just as the decant color evokes, Porsche Design is a bit more darker/blue-ish compared to LE’s transparent glass and light green juice.
I’ll wear this when smoking on the blueberry cookies..;)

Smells a lot like Aigner for Men Blue Emotion. Inoffensive and generic , and similar to Aqua di Gio.
Lasts 4 to 6 hours on my skin. Overall, I’d say 6.5 out of 10. Pretty cheap though…..

I bought this for about £60 and forgot about it,having a clean out, I decided to apply it. I have to say it’s a stunner. It got its first compliment within me stepping out of the car, has a beautiful clean juniper berry smell. The bottle is nothing less than with what you would expect from a Porsche design. It is still fresh as the day I bought it. Just like a typical Porsche, keeps it value and appreciating classic, however having said that, I have just seen that one can acquire this, very cheap now. However the scent is what it is about it is very nice and I think no one else be wearing it.

I’ve worn this on two work days now. I did not spray too much, afraid to choke out my coworkers and customers. But what I did spray from a sample sprayer was still there six/7 hours later.
Not killer projection but not weak and I should wear this again and a little heavier to detect and analyze the notes.
It smells really nice and is comfortable and had me in a good mood because I felt I made a good decision spraying this on.
With the blueberry it had me thinking of a lighter Gold by Jay Z.

I had a 1ml sample of this. The best way i can describe it: Smells like cream made of juniper, pine and blueberry. Soft smell, and cold, cream=balsamic.
After first 5 minutes coming in trace of soft sweetness, like from sweet tea, like it.
Modern (it’s not a sort of classical-old smell), clearly manly, not for kids and not for too old people.
Casual style, but can be good for formal events. Does not smell too classy, but also does not smell cheap.
    Emotionally on the colder side.
    Good for all year.

After reading everyone elses’ reviews, I am torn as to whether or not I should add yet ANOTHER differing view of this juice.
I am going to revisit my review later after I have let it dry down a bit more but initially I feel it most reminds me of Aqua di Gio. There is some note in it that I think is very clean/summery/ maybe marine-esque. Along those lines, there is a nice, fresh green smell but I don’t really feel its pine/fir. I am hoping that the pine and juniper come out but they do not stand out initially. I have no idea what blueberry should smell like so I cannot attest to that.
    More later.

Honestly, I don’t really like this cologne. I find the pine and juniper to be overpowering. The scent does seem to last forever. When sprayed on your clothes, I can still smell it days later in my closet. I guess all the notes mixed together in this one don’t do anything for me. I’m a young guy and I look for something fresh and this just isn’t it.

Well how can i describe it?
most of the Supercars named perfumes smells like cr*p..old, yellow and reminds me of the Brut.
BUT – this essence just got it absolutely for the right side – its perfect!
smeels very cool – fits the summer like a glove, sweet and bit minty, fresh and light, i get alot of compliments from this product.
and cheap! yes it is cheap, long lasting, great smell, great desigen!
and, not alot of people knows about thie essence – what makes it special and better 🙂
    i recommend it

I simply loved the fragrance. The first time I saw it, I didn’t understand why Porsche would go such a way (with accessories), but after having smelled it, I fell in love.
I see, by the thumbs down, that people didn’t like Porsche design that much. Well, maybe they will like the new fragrance, Design Sport.

a scent of a light cigarette. not being a smoker its a very distinct smell. the blue berry has remained strong.

Not bad as a blind buy. $10 at walmart was a good deal on this one.

This is another one of those colognes that I bought a bottle of while in college, left on the shelf and am now revisiting. It is, to me, a somewhat enjoyable fresh fragrance with a strong blueberry opening muddled with juniper and pine. The blueberry doesnt stick around for very long (at least to my nose). Coriander props up the spicy accord giving it some structure beyond just pine-freshener-scent, but after about half an hour (on my skin) what you’re left with is a middle of the road spicy fresh mix that’s pleasant but otherwise unremarkable.
Initially I find it to be quite unique but as we move through the heart and base it loses any headway it made. Considering, on me, that is only 30 minutes into the game that’s not enough to sell me on it.
This cologne is neither a heavy hitter nor a pure skin scent in sillage. Its longevity on my skin is about three to six hours (note: my skin is quite dry) before its down to the skin.
Overall it is likable but I wouldnt buy it again. It is certainly worth a smell if you pass it by in a boutique or can get it on the cheap.

It’s good when you mix it with something sweet.
    Such as CK one shock.
    DAMN!
    but by itself, nahhh.

Not great, not terrible, Porsche Essence is the perfect scent to wear when you don’t want anyone to notice you. I am not paying it a compliment by saying that. This is a boring scent, like a hundred other boring, generic woody citrus fragrances out there, only not as well composed as most.
Harsh juniper and grapefruit clash with synthetic, soapy white noise in the opening accord, creating a headache-inducing accord. There is very little blending of notes going on in Porsche Essence, and I feel that this is its biggest flaw.
Fortunately things do get better in the drydown, which is pretty good. Unlike the opening and heart accords, the drydown is warm, and the myrtle mixed with patchouli and incense create an interesting, semi-sour scent that I actually kind of like.
Though the drydown is decent, it’s not good enough to make up for the lousy opening and middle stages. I’d only recommend this for guys who like woody citrus frags but don’t have any in their collection and are looking for a low-cost option. If you’re going to buy this, get the gift set – the shower gel is great.
    MY RATING: 5/10

Never judge a book by its cover.
And never buy a perfume by the outlooks of the container.

Newest version of the essence is the essence sport. Very nice! Recommended for anyone who collects SPORT version of multi brands.
The bottle itself described its famous name, like all accessories made by porsche design is manufactured to its best, contemporary, minimalist and super kool.

To me, the smells exactly like Whiskey Silver, a chemist brand I was given for secret sant a present. Even though I liked Whiskey Silver at first, I still knew it was a simple chemist brand, though it smelt like a knock off of either Acqua D’ Gio or some other overpriced, unjustifiably popular, generic, corporate smell.
That’s exactly what Porsche smells like to me, I could swear it’s a known off of blah bla-blah.
So the smell is nice, but what it reminds me of is not.
DONT LET MY OPINION SPOIL YOURS! because it is a very nice smell and that’s all that’s should count.
I conform to the notion that it doesn’t matter if it cost less, as long as it doesn’t smell cheap, and that means the smell itself.

    Notes / scent: 4
    Longevity / sillage: 4.5
    Overall / subjective feelings: 4.5
Description: simplifying – “incense aromatic”, dark and really masculine
Short opinion: It’s hard to believe, how many negative reviews the smell has. However, IMHO, this is one of the more interesting fragrances, I know.

The Essence is a collectible item. The bottle is super minimalistically cool. Unfortunately, my 1oz bottle has a drippy nozzle and flimsy plastic top. I wonder if the bigger bottle would have better build quality. So anyway what’s about the scent, it’s comparable to my Quiksilver or Bvlgari Aqva. It’s somewhat sweet and smoky aquatic from blueberry, juniper, and incense. I think it fits right between woody aromatic and aromatic aquatic. Nice but ordinary. I don’t see it as a signature scent but great for gift and addition to whoever collects fragrances.

The bottle and the color of it matches with a minimalist bathroom. “Looks like a radioactive refrigerator”, as reviewer SirSlarty said at basenotes.net. Cool. The pine makes it fresh and the incense could have made it dark and interesting, but doesn’t work as I was expecting. After a few minutes, it sounds like petals of flowers left on water for a while, under the shadow. Blacklens, below, said it all.

A mixed impression: The initial scniff is great: masculine, different, mysterious, not too sweet. But then it quickly dries down to something very “orddinaiare”: Where’s the blueberry gone? Just like a sports car: stunning first look, dashing take off but then it get’s quickly out of sight …

  27. :

The ultra-cool design of the bottle has got to be mentioned before judging on the perfume as such. It certainly does the trick, because it makes you curious. After that, it’s a question of principle: It’s all so sterile here, which makes you wonder if this is what a perfume is meant to be in the first place.
Conclusion: This one is for people who like the idea of wearing fragrances, but in fact don’t know what to make of it.

on my skin middle and base notes are very simillar to lacoste essential (patchouli and pepper) – but INHO this one is deeper and darker – it must be incense note. it’s ok scent but i prefere lighter, sports version in lacoste way.

This fragrance is resemblant of Drakkar Noir, but with a lighter fresher feel. It has a good scent but adds nothing really special to my wardrobe.

i know a lot of people dont like this but it really has a nice masculine tone to it, its a little bit diffrent and the insence patchouli base really makes it stand out and gives it a more masculine and sophisticated sensual feel
