Description

Perfume SHI, introduced in 2000 opens new millennium in the floral fruity attire. It is made of light floral rhapsody of notes, which are perfectly followed by real sense of serenity and existence. It is also called “Perfect Sung’s Drop”, which, as element of nature brings fullness of life. Translucent and elegant, just perfect, washed by the purity of water and notes of lotus blossom and fig leaves in the top notes, while the heart beats with its fresh sweet accords of orange blossom, shining tangerine and night odorous flower Frangipani. The base consists of leaves of birch and musk.
It was designed by Ilias Emenidis. The bottle is the work of designer Jerome Dinand. It is available in the amount of 15 and 20 ml of perfume extract, 50 and 100 ml edp, and accompanying products like cream, body milk and deodorant. The nose behind this fragrance is Ilias Ermenidis.

This clean and soapy fragrance will be great for summer. Not heavy at all. I mostly smell the fig leaf and water lily which is green and aquatic. There is some sweetness from the orange blossom and plumeria, but it’s subtle. Very nice!

A fresh, crisp, cut green acquatic leaf scent, hint of white lily and grapefruit citrus. A suitable summer fragrance that is very clean and soft. Perfect fragrance for warm summer days, light and airy, feeling fresh. Nice light fragrance for year round when you want to wear something light. The bottle is a pretty raindrop shape.

This is one underrated perfume! I always have a bottle for summer . It is the only aquatic I wear , but it is so lovely and unique . I do not smell powder or pear personally . I wish this fragrance had a bit MORE intensity and lasting power because I find it beautiful and have received compliments on it . This is an underrated scent , and one that the masses are not wearing , which I like. I find it feminine and think it would work perfectly in an environment where strong scents are discouraged.
It lasts several hours, but does not have a lot of sillage . It is definitely not loud , but it is VERY pretty . It is great for hot weather, and for places where stronger scents are discouraged. I adore this scent , as does my best friend .
SHI smells like some of the older Shiseido scents to me . It is what I call a sort of “zen “ style fragrance – very understated . I smell bamboo , but it may not be listed. I think it is far nicer than Gucci Bamboo personally .

The bottle is very appropriate for the juice inside: it’s clean, serene, translucent. It does smell like a bar of Dove soap, but more than that. The fig leaf in the opening is quite clear, and the sweet citrus in the middle is beautiful. It stays on for a long time keeping you feeling fresh. If you have tried birch juice, this is what it reminds me of: slightly sweet but pure and fresh.

I literally went and bought this at TJ Maxx based solely on the “ it smells like clown shoes” comment! Lolol I have to say it’s not bad. An easy everyday type of fragrance.

Oh man… I am addicted to this perfume…. I brought this several years ago when I went on a shopping spree for perfume. I blind brought this from TJ Maxx (when they use to have a decently priced perfume section) and I was instantly in love.. I love how soft and easy it is to wear. Perfect for all occasions… I now have to stock up on it because I never want to run out.. Time to get the big size!!!!

A light, slightly powdery scent. Not floral, nor fruity. A very grown-up office scent. The water lily note smells awful on clothes, like some sort of chemical/plastic combination. It’s much better on skin.

This was so much sweeter and fruitier than I was expecting. Didn’t smell citrus to me though, more like pear juice. It dries down to that watery musk that is common in many floral aquatics (Dolce or Ming Shu are listed in the ‘reminds me of’ and I would have to agree with both of those). Shi is that soft, indiscernible floral musk that is so popular for office wear because it’s safe. That’s not my favorite scent genre in any way but if you like sweet airy dryer sheet esque perfumes, Shi can be found quite inexpensively.

Shi smells clean from the water lily and orange blossom, but it’s not really a strong aquatic, certainly nothing like Cool Water or any of those strong calone aquatics from the nineties. It does have that blue Dove Soap smell and real freshness. More than anything it smells clean. Projection is nothing like Alfred Sung’s other scents I have worn (Pure, Sung, and Sung Homme). Those are much stronger; Shi is rather light.
The plumeria/frangipani comes out in the dry down. That’s a dated note for those of us who have been consciously enjoying perfumes for decades; plumeria was everywhere about 15-20 years ago. Not saying it’s a bad note – I really enjoy this. Just nostalgic.
Shi makes a great hot weather all-purpose daytime scent if you are tired of citrus. More fresh than actually floral, but that’s good when it’s super hot. Safe for wearing to work, too.

This was a blind buy because it was only 10 bucks.
Unfortunately, I think I will be getting those 10 bucks back. This just doesn’t wow me and there is a note in here that kind of ruins it. I don’t know if it’s the rice, the birch, or what. Just not quite the aquatic I was looking for.

    Lovely bottle!
So the flower I couldn’t identify is water lily. It’s a low pitched floral, an alto instead of a soprano. I honestly couldn’t smell the fruit or citrus though.
Worth trying for floral fans who want something a bit different.

I just blind bought this because the packaging caught my eye and decided to read the reviews here while I was in the store. I don’t have any aquatic fragrances and some of the reviews said it smells like dove soap.I figured hey I like dove soap. It does have a crisp and clean right out of the shower smell which I love. The lotus notes really come out on me. I really love this fragrance and want to explore other aquatics now. Glad I picked this fragrance up.

I just blind bought this because I found it for cheap. While it does not blow my socks off, it is a very nice summer scent that I will likely wear everyday, to work, shopping, at the cottage- just whenever I want a fragrance to just put on.
Starts off crisp, but mellows to a soft floral, slightly sweet, but without being cloying. Not powdery, not complicated. Easy to wear. Seems like a summer relative to “Neiges”by Lise Watier.
It is a cool, aquatic floral – I cannot see it offending anyone, and so would even make a nice gift – and, I would add, for every age – from teens to the mature.
It is not an evening scent I think.
I will definitely finish the bottle happily.

There is no perfume aspect at all in this, all it smells like is fresh out of the shower blue Dove soap that lasts a while, that’s all there is to it.

It never ceases to amaze me how varied are the responses to a particular perfume! I am just learning about notes and the various classifications of fragrances. I tried this one years ago and didn’t care for it but didn’t know why. Tried it again today and I realize I still don’t like it but now I know why – aquatic or marine-type fragrances are just not my thing.

I’m not really here to leave such a unique review because I feel the same way you all feel about it.
It’s very crisp, fresh, light, airy, mellow, cooling, and calming.
I love getting the first cold opening blast from this beauty. The rice leaves and the water lily make an amazing team alongside the clean woods.
The drydown is really mellow and soft, more of a skin scent perhaps, based upon how much of this fragrance you apply. I wholeheartedly agree that this fragrance is so compatable with heat (high heat at that) and continues to be fresh. I’d not hesitate to categorize this into ‘shampoo, soap, fresh out of the shower clean vibe”
Overall, an amazing fragrance for such an affordable price. If you like aquatic florals or just fresh scents in general, this is a REALLY safe blind buy.

I blind bought this after reading and watching reviews. I was in search of some new fresh and clean fragrances to add to my collection. Aquatics are not my favorites, as they tend to give me headaches easily. They seem to smell metallic and alcohol like to me, which doesn’t work with my chemistry. But this fragrance intrigued me anyway due to the reviews from others who also aren’t huge aquatic lovers either . Anyway, I found this for an awesome price online and have been wearing for 2 days now to test it out.
First of all, the bottle is pretty. Very pure and simple look to it. Now the fragrance itself….the opening, I don’t like. It is very floral and a bit harsh. Almost chemical smelling. BUT …give it 10 to 20 mins to settle a bit and it is LOVELY. SERENE , is good word to describe the overall “feel” of this. Soft, floral/soapy, slightly powdery, musky, clean, cool and watery. Note how I said watey rather than aquatic. I say this because it is so soft and smooth rather than screechy as many “aquatics” are to me. More like fresh water rather than salty marine water. A very clean, very subtle, very “snuggly ” fresh skin scent. It kind of reminds me of freshly washed and dried laundry. I really like it. My boyfriend seems to love this scent on me and likes to snuggle his face in my neck when I’m wearing this. On me this sits close to the skin and lasts maybe 4-5 hours tops. Smells much better on my skin than spraying directly on clothes. Without the warmth of my skin it never seems to reach that yummy snuggly clean drydown. I am very pleased with this blind buy. I will get a lot of use out of thus one this coming spring and summer. This one is a definite KEEPER!

This is very pretty. I may love it but I need more time with it, its def a strong like. Such a beautiful, classy scent. Moderate longevity and sillage. The price is right as well. I would highly recommend anyone trying this, even as a blind buy. Its a really lovely aquatic floral.

I remember I bought this perfume on a whim many many years ago at a TJ Maxx and I was very satisfied! I recently picked this up at Marshall’s right along with Emerald Palms and it still smells so fresh. This is one of my favorite summer scents. It’s light and airy and reminds me of summer. Love, love, love it. Yes, whomever compared this scent to Avon’s Haiku…spot on!

This scent is heavenly. If I could describe it I would say it’s definitely clean, fresh, and aquatic. It kinda has an Ivory or Dove soapiness to it. It’s a great fragrance for hot summer days because its so fresh, lightweight, and delicate. If I could compare it to another perfume I’ve tried I would say it gives me Versace “Bright Crystal” vibes minus the sweet/floralness. I mean it definitely has some floral notes in it but overall its more fresh and aquatic. It gives me the warm and comforting vibes of a rainy day when you wanna stay cozy and warm in bed. Oh and on me it lasts for HOURS!

I wore this a lot at one time. A beautiful airy floral scent that was a great daytime perfume. I haven’t wore it in sometime.

  22. :

The reformulated version of this is a synthetic mess. The original was a clean, sexy, airy delight reminiscent of a summer day spent splashing in park fountains, gazing at ponds filled with blooming lily pads and staring up at fluffy white clouds. It’s refreshing and aquatic, but not sharp at all, very soft and feminine with just a hint of musk and fruitiness.

I bought this because I am a huge lover of rice notes and clean fragrances. Since Shi was recommended as being both and under 20$, I blind bought it.
Well, it’s definitely clean! Almost sterile even. Super-duper-uber aquatic and aquatics just read as “cheap” to me. I don’t know why, that’s just how my nose perceives them. It could be a 300$ bottle but if it’s overtly aquatic, I’m going to think dollar store imitation fragrance. So I think that really holds me back from the ability to love it and I want all readers who do appreciate aquatic fragrances to know this so you can take my review with a grain of salt.
That said, here’s what I DO like about it: Shi has that rice note and it lends a slighty creamy powdery effect that without it the fragrance would just be straight up generic “mountain rain” scented dryer sheet in a bottle. This note really rides into the drydown like a white knight and plays savior for me.
As I said before, this is clean as promised. It’s a different type of clean than I typically go for but clean nonetheless. I tend to like more soapy, powdery cleans whereas this has that crisp freshness. But I do think I could come to appreciate it. This could work come really hot weather. It’s fairly unique as far as typical summer fragrances that are popular right now. I’m definitely keeping my bottle to at least give it a solid whirl this summer.
Not my best blind buy, but certainly not even close to my worst!

Finally I’ve found it! My mother used to wear this, but I never knew what it was, and I spent so much time trying to figure out what fragrance it was in that memorable bottle… My mom can’t really wear a lot of perfumes because they give her headaches, but this one was an exception. I don’t remember what it smelled like, but it must have been quite light and fresh for my mother to have been able to wear it. Her favorite perfume was Chanel No. 5 but it was one of the ones she couldn’t wear, so perhaps if you like that you’ll like this. I suppose it’s pointless to write a review of a fragrance you can’t remember the smell of, but I was so excited to finally be able to put a name to the bottle that I simply couldn’t contain myself.

This is one of the very few aquatic and/or white floral fragrances I like. This perfume is great for a warm or hot summer day. It is fresh, clean and feminine, which isn’t always an easy blend to find with in an aquatic aroma meant for women. I find myself grabbing for this after taking a hot bath or before I am going to do cardio. Alfred Sung made a classic with this one… Have loved it for 15 years now.

When this first came out it was kinda of pricey but of course after awhile I was able to find it for $10-$14 and at that price I bought 8 of them I kept 3 and sent my friends some in the mail.
Alfred Sung has a history of softer scents so I figured I would like this one. I love how clean this smells and at $14 for a 3.4fl/oz I mean I couldn’t beat that size/price ratio. It’s definitely a must for my perfume collection. I will always make sure I have this one. It’s my dirty/clean secret dirt cheap for clean price.

If you live in a hot climate and feel like a sweathog just stepping outside then you might like Shi. It’s aquatic without being warm or musky. The florals are not too heavy or loud. It’s delicate and feminine without being weak. Overall, it’s refreshing and clean. I wish it lasted longer but for the price it’s going for these days I don’t think twice about refreshing around midday. It’s not my favorite fragrance but it is the only one in my collection that I feel has a purpose and that is it makes me feel clean and fresh in heat and humidity and for that reason I’ll keep buying it and wearing it.

  28. :

Such a crisp and clean scent. I couldn’t stop taking a sniff of it as it simmered with my body’s chemistry in the hot, humid Caribbean sun. It was like a breath of the most purest cool breeze. It is not over bearing .
Such a beautiful potion to have on the skin. Mild, sweet and clean.
I would recommend it for daily wear to school as I am doing. It won’t be distracting and it won’t claw at other’s nostrils. I don’t really wear one specific perfume for too long as I tend to get fed up of the same scent. There are a few scents that I cling to and this would be one. I regret only getting the 50ml bottle but sure enough I would restock this to my collection.
The design of the bottle is simple but exquisite. I use the cover to lift it into the palm of my hands and it feels like a magical transit. The soft touch of the cover’s material is such a delight and the colours are perfect representations of the calm and tranquil water of a mystical lake. Peaceful and serene in its entirety…
The only con is that the silage and longivity is just moderate. I wished that it would last on my skin for the entire day as Ralph Lauren Midnight Romance does. That perfume adheres to me! I do love it so and I love laying on my pillow and having it sink into the fabric giving me an ever so pleasurable whiff of such a mysteriously entrancing concoction.
In essence Shi is certainly a masterpiece of refreshing flavor.

I really like this perfume. This is my second time buying it it’s just as lovely as I remember it. It’s a clean, fresh, slightly powdery scent.

  30. :

Start to finish Shi is a great fragrance and as a fan of Water Lily this doesn’t disappoint. For the price these days you almost have to be crazy not to have a bottle for Spring and Summer. The longevity on me is great for a fresh scent at 8+hrs with 3-4 sprays. I also have a bottle of Hei and I think a spray of Shi might work well layered with it but I have not tried.
Update: Shi layers great with Hei. I highly recommend giving it a whirl.

    * These are my personal experiences/thoughts with this fragrance. Yours/others may differ. *
Initial – water lily + orange + musk + rice leaf
Drydown – orange blossom + birch + musk
    Duration – 6-8 hours
    Projection – soft
Experiences – Projects better in warmer weather.
Quick Thoughts – clean, aquatic, floral
Reminds Me Of – a woodier version of Avon Haiku

Shi by Alfred Sung is one of my favorite blind-buys. It’s clean, fresh, light, and floral.
I have a strange relationship with this scent because ordinarily, I’d be reaching for this type of fragrance every day. However, there is something in Shi (probably just one note) that I don’t particularly care for, and I’m not sure what it is. As such, I wear it only when it suits my mood and mostly on my clothing, not on my skin.
This works best (for me) during the summer. I can’t stand heavy floral or citrusy scents when it’s hot because my skin doesn’t really carry them well.
This opens a little sharp but develops quickly and dries down to something clean, soft, and pleasant– as such, it can be used in any environment. I would confidently wear this to the office knowing it won’t offend those who can’t tolerate strong perfumes.
I still have an almost full bottle but would definitely repurchase this one.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

It’s a smoldering heat outside, and I noticed that I grab more for Shi than for any other fragrances from my perfume chest for a couple of days now. I am usually a woman that loves sweet fragrance, but right now it’s WAY too hot for sweet. Yesterday I wore Bronze Goddess, and this was even too sweet for this heat wave, even though usually I would consider it a more citrusy fragrance. I have plenty of summer fragrances, but many get too fresh, this is just perfect.

Pretty close to David Yurman Fresh Essence. Not too exciting. Drydown is like Bath and Body Japanese Cherry Blossom.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Opens up like “I’ve smelled this all before…possibly fabric softener” . But hang on. Let the opening finish……and even though there’s no real “heart” here……..the dry-down is very nice & white and creamy! Almost a tuberose scent — even though it’s not listed.
If you like white floral this is worth the $16.99 from T.J. RossMarshalls !

  36. :

    5 out of 5

This is my favorite kind of floral – clean and light . I tire quickly of heavy white flowers like gardenia or tuberose. They do not appeal to me in perfume, though they are lovely in nature .
I totally love Shi , and it is one I never want to be without . I find it PERFECT for hot, humid sticky weather that Southerners know well . It feels literally cool to me and call me crazy , but it smells like a perfume version of zen in a bottle. I really do not smell a strong floral note, nor a strong citrus note. It smells like flowers in a wet garden along with a soft musk . It is light , but still a perfume that has resulted in some memorable compliments from men I do not know ( a lady does not forget that ) . You do not have to fear annoying anyone who complains about “sensitivity” to perfume . I find very unique and an enormous bargain these days . Not many folks are rushing to buy it because it is not sugary , so that is another nice benefit .

What a wonderful summer scent!!! It’s winter here but after testing it, I already saw myself on a sunny summer morning, on the beach, dressed in white and walking along the shore, breathing in the ocean breeze! It is aquatic but not salty, it’s pretty long-lasting, which I love, as longevity is hardly ever the case with aquatic scents. It is fresh, cool (if not cold), crispy, white floral notes are very distant – like the wind from a seaside garden.

Bought this one @ fragrancenet.com. At $14 for a new 3.4 EDP tester, thought it was reasonable. Something about this fragrance… When you first apply, it’s harsh. After about 20 minutes it only starts to mellow out. Thought it would be more calming and soft (my sister had it and remembered a “spa fragrance”). Was looking forward to water lily, rice and orange/citrus but honestly it smells like air freshener. Disappointed with SHI, won’t buy again.

I remember complementing this Russian girl on her perfume and she said it was Shi. That’s how I learnt of this perfume. I had so much perfumes that I couldn’t add more. Now I can and I saw it on sale at the store near me. I tried the tester and I love how it is soft, and not sickly sweet or heavy. It reminds me of green, green herbs and grass and meadows. Like I’m in the countryside. I like Sung forever too but I find this one to be less sweet than the Forever perfume. I see this perfume matching a delicate type of person.

  41. :

Shi is a pretty perfume that’s perfect for office/school (or any time you’ll be in close groups). This perfume stays close to the skin, so you won’t be leaving scent trails unless you’re very heavy-handed in your application. I get about 9-10 hours out of it.
On my skin, Shi is a very nice water lily/orange blossom/musk scent. I could pick up on the citrus element for only the first hour or so. I see most recommend this for spring/summer – I honestly think this could be worn year-round. Lovely stuff; very feminine.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I am flabbergasted to see so many people saying this is similar to Avon Haiku. Haiku to me is very sharp and crisp, Shi is very light. Shi to me is safe for an office setting, gatherings, etc, where you will be in close contact with people. To me Haiku is too powerful (read: possibly headache inducing) to be office-appropriate. I like Haiku myself, but I do not see the comparison at all. Shi to me is a light, everyday type of fragrance, great for Spring and Summer. While Haiku is also great for Spring and Summer, Shi is more airy and light and predominantly aquatic. Nothing about Haiku is aquatic to me. Haiku also has woody notes that are missing in Shi. If you look at the notes, they are different. But enough about Haiku.
I like Shi quite well and the dry down for me is pretty much the same as when first applied, soft, aquatic, light, white floral. Nothing offensive about this. My only complaint with Shi is that it wears off on me rather quickly. It is pretty much completely vanished after 3 or 4 hours. But for a light, feminine, everyday, ‘safe’ fragrance, this is lovely. Different enough that you will not smell like every other woman at the mall, and yet still safe and inoffensive.

I like this for a light, daily wear.
Nothing really stands out but it is nice and subtle.

This fragrance is way too aquatic for me.. it almost reminds me of my Method shower anti-scum spray. I can see it working well for people who naturally have muskier, richer body chemistries, but for me (Asian, no B.O.), I need something that has a bit more depth.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

I love this perfume. A lot of things smell strange on my skin but this smells beautiful. I often use the body wash first before I wear this and it adds a little extra warmth. The rice note gives a softness to this clean scent that makes it unique. It also smells a little salty on my skin which I actually like. One of those “my skin but better” perfumes. It is very light but I personally have had compliments several hours after spraying so, there is some lasting power and some sillage. Excellent for daytime, all seasons. A scent for smelling great without drawing crowds.

Picked this up last night so I am giving a short, quick-take review. It’s a soft aquatic, fresh and clean…so far I like it 🙂
    More later…
Now that is is cooler I put this on today. The initial blast is a bit strong and I can’t say I love it but it’s tolerable (this is not the usual scent family I gravitate towards) the middle and dry down or end of the fragrance story is where I enjoy this most. Very safe, clean but more floral/aquatic. I think if the rice note wasn’t in it I wouldn’t like it as much. I don’t consider this fruity however, but floral yes. Very work safe scent. The longevity is pretty good and I only used two sprays.

So…this is my fourth fragrance by this fragrance house and I am starting to believe many reviews and consider this house the masters of “office scents.”
All 4 that I’ve smelled and own so far…are very pleasant smelling but SO extremely inoffensive. There’s no way any of them will stink, make anyone sneeze, offend anyone’s senses, or be intrusive to their personal space as they all have the perfectly moderate sillage.
This one is exactly the same way. To me…this smells much more floral than it does of citrus notes. I mostly smell an aquatic, white floral, pretty, somewhat alcohol-ey fragrance, but in a pleasant way. Projection is perfect for an office setting as it projects 1-2 feet for about 2 hours and then for another 2 hours it sits very close to skin. Towards the very end of it’s run (for the last hour or so) it almost smells alittle sweet, but also in a pleasant way.
Of the four that I own from Alfred Sung…this is my third favorite; the first being Jewel (my god that one smells incredible) and my second favorite being Always. But still, this one smells quite good and is very clean to put on right after a shower and when you’re heading off to work. There couldn’t be a more perfect purpose for this fragrance than that.
    Scent Itself – 7/10
Longevity – 4 hours (Good projection for 2 of them)
Sillage – PERFECT for the office. Perfectly medium if you know what I mean. Not offensive, not too weak. About 2 feet for the first 2 hours.
    Overall Rating – 7.5/10
Side note – Also a plus that you can find this very cheap at TJ Maxx or even on Ebay. I got the big 100ml bottle at TJ Maxx for $15. 🙂

This is a very feminine and fresh fragrance that I liked when I owned it. The citrus and florals were not offensive. i confess I was attracted to the bottle more than the average notes in the bottle. I never had the urge to buy a replacement bottle when I finished the first.

  49. :

    4 out of 5

Citrus, aquatic, white florals, fresh, very clean and spicy…all of my favourite notes. Add a hint of woody to it and it would be even better imo!
I find this perfume very easy to wear on its own for any occasion, day or night, inoffensive and easy to grab without much thought when running out the door to feel clean and invigorated.
I enjoy layering SHI in the evening with heavier, non citrusy fragrances with woody notes and/or a soft light musk and it very much changes the vibe of it, making for a much more alluring and sexy scent that always grabs attention and compliments. It has a good base, lasting longevity and the right amount of sillage to be able to wear with almost any other scent you may wish to layer with too.
A great perfume to have in your collection if you lean towards citrus and white florals…a bonus it you like to play around with layering your scents. ☺

It’s white light in a bottle.
Very aquatic with none of the saltiness often associated with such scents. The rice notes lend a creaminess that supports the watery notes. This creaminess gives the perfume a clean skin quality to it that imbues warmth in what might otherwise be a very cool and impersonal composition.
Honestly, it smells like a very high end and expensive spa type lotion.
I do like it as a basic go-to bottle for spring and summer. It differs from much of what is generally found on the market in that same category.
I currently have a 50 ml bottle of EDP which I’m trying to get through during this summer. We’ll see. I am halfway
The longevity is moderately long at about 5-6 hours in comparison to other frags in this category. The sillage is an arms length.

SHI is one of those fragrances that I perceive very differently depending on the weather. It’s funny. On warm (not hot), humid days like today, I think it smells great and I wonder why I don’t wear it more often. On chilly days, there’s something weird about this scent that puts me off and I wonder why I bought it in the first place. I have a bottle of the EDP which I purchased years ago (presumably in the spring or early summer).
In the notes, SHI is described as “floral fruity,” but I have to say I disagree with that as I pick up little floral and no fruit. To me, this is a clear, clean scent that’s not at all sweet. Unlike many aquatics, SHI is a fresh-water fragrance and doesn’t have those salty notes that my skin chemistry finds problematic. There’s a little hint of green here and although I don’t pick up the musk per se, there’s just a bit of something solid under the water. The sillage is soft enough to be an appropriate office scent and the longevity is on the low end of moderate.

The perfume smells exactly like the bottle looks- very clean, fresh and watery. It reminds me of white Kenzo stripped of floral notes. Has a hint of salt and a touch of citrus in it, but not too much. On some skin might get a bit sour – but that’s just chemistry. Do not spray it in excess and try not to breathe in when you spray, you might be sneezing. Perfect for office wear, very light and inoffensive.

A bit generic scent, there is something I do not like so much, but overall not bad at all. Good value for its current price, but I would not buy it again.

Shi by Alfred Sung is one of my favorites. It’s very fresh, light, and pretty. I like it for day time wear but I will wear it at night occasionally during warmer months. It smells like a pure clean scent kinda like Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey eau de toilette, but there is a distinct citrusy smell to it unlike the Issey which smells only floral. It is also way more affordable than the Issey, 1 oz of shi is only $20!!! at a perfume store no less.

This is one of my ultimate favorites. I discovered it by accident about 6 years ago and have bought it faithfully since. It’s sometimes hard to find in my area so when I do find it, I stock up. I have 3 bottles at the moment.

Oh my! This is an amazingly soapy, fresh, watery floral! It smells heavenly! I can’t pinpoint any specific notes I just love the way it smells. It does cling closely to the the skin, but that smell is just so wonderful as it wafts around you. It is comforting but not heavy. It is simply delightful and sublime! I love this scent!!!!!

descreet, clean, light… like water (read: Cool water by Davidoff!).
Blind buy for me, and doesn’t work well with my skin so If you want it – let me know, I’m ready to sell 100 ml of it.

Shi is a delightful open-air scent that’s rice-based and does remind me of delicious steamed rice. It’s not a thick perfume, it’s more watery, it’s green, bamboo-like, but that’s not a listed note. You can sense a burnt tarry finish in the dry down that gives Shi a masculine edge to make this a perfect aquatic, it’s just different enough. It’s atypical, and I like that. It’s not boring. I love rice as a note and in this it’s absolutely perfect. Although normally a scent like this would be good for hot summer days, I’d also recommend this for three seasons of the year. Lasts for a good four to six hours. Wear Shi as a comfort perfume to relax or when you’re just hanging out with friends.

I found this today at Walmart for 34.95 for the 100ml bottle! I remembered that I loved this a number of years ago, maybe it was when it first came out…it doesn’t smell as good as I remember it smelling! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very lovely smell. Nice
