Description

The name of this fragrance is by all means in line with Alfred Sung‘s work concept. He creates wedding gowns and accessories for brides to be, and the name ‘Forever‘ perfectly matches such an important moment in life. It was created in cooperation with Dragoco house and launched in 1995.

The top notes bring the peony petals, plum and raspberry, the heart unites the floral notes of freesia, narcissus, lily of the valley and rose. The base is composed of mimosa, sandalwood and amber. It comes as EDP in 75ml and 125ml bottles.

This one took some time to like.
When I first bought it, the calendar said spring, but Mother Nature was still giving us snow, sleet and ice. At that time there was something slightly irritating about this ‘fume.
But now, we are deep into spring….the temperatures are warm, the sun is blinding and Forever smells so good. I have reached for this a few times recently and have greatly enjoyed it. It is not fresh, but it is a clean, floral and slightly soapy scent. You can definitely smell the plum in this one, there is something distinctly edible to this.

Clean and green..reminds me of something my mom wore when I was a child, but dang if I can remember it now. I don’t pick up any fruity notes. I see the similarities to Arden’s Splendor (in fact, Splendor is what I immediately thought of when first spritzing this), but I would not say they are dupes. Splendor is kind of screechy on me…I suppose this is like Splendor’s much, much quieter little sister. Definitely from the same family! LOL. There is a refreshing brightness and a crispness with this, but I do think this could possibly be a wee bit sharp if sprayed too heavily/too close. A couple light quick spritzes for me and this is a nice and refreshing change from “today’s scents”. I am looking forward to wearing this during the Spring and Summer. Moderate sillage and longevity.

Literally the only perfume I’ve ever bought twice. (I like to try new things!) I first bought it in about 1996, at 14 years years old. It was love at first sniff in a dutyfree shop while traveling to Italy, and my mum kindly bought it for me. Then I bought it again about 10 years later. To me, it seems quite strong when it first goes on, but manages to remain feminine at the same time. It lingers several hours and softens. I see a purchase of a third bottle happening in the not too distant future… I do find it fascinating that it’s the one scent that I still love after all these (20+!!!) years. Now that I think back, it probably wasn’t exactly an “appropriate” scent for a 14 year old, but I’ve never played by the rules anyways 😉

    Fragrance Review For Forever
    Alfred Sung
    Top Notes
    Tayberry Plum Peony
    Middle Notes
Rose Freesia Narcissus Lily of the Valley
    Base Notes
    Amber Sandalwood
Forever is a fragrance of sweet youth.
A tayberry and plum is almost too sweet.
The touch of berry also gives it a young edge although it’s not candy or sugary.’
It’s a good opening especially if you are tired of citrus at the beginning of a fragrance’s performance.
So many fragrances come with citrus or orange blossom scents in the top notes but this one is definitely a berry and plum opening of fruity goodness. Even without the citruses it is still fresh because of the aroma chemicals.
The floral notes include freesia, rose, lily of the valley and peony.
On me the peony and rose note stand out and both smell a bit similar.
The freesia and lily white floral scents take over but unlike other white floral fragrances – or rose scents – they do not turn too soapy.
The fruity sweetness mingles with the few floral notes to give it a decidedly feminine aura.
This perfume is far from unisex and in fact reminds me of young girls I knew back in middle school in 1995.
This smells like it would work well on the skin chemistries of teenage girls who are into perfumes and don’t mind wearing a 90’s fruity floral.
This is wearable as a modern 2016 fragrance.
It does not smell like it belongs on a mature lady’s dresser table and has nothing in common with other fruity florals of the 90’s such as Tresor by Lancôme Tocade by Rochas, or Casmir by Chopard. It might have a little more in common with Deci Dela by Nina Ricci.
This is the kind of perfume that will provoke nostalgia and cause people to react with that “You smell so good” remark, even if it’s not about your hair! This perfume also reminds me of spring time and picnics in parks.
The sweetness coming from flowers and fruits are suited to the pleasant weather months of April through July.
The dry down is amber and a sandalwood, not as striking as the way the fragrance goes from being fruity to floral.
I detect mostly amber, which is clean and only the slightest bit soapy.
I wish that this fragrance could last a little longer on me.
It’s very soft and subtle and is well behaved as a fragrance.
    Beautiful.

Sung Forever is a very cooling, refreshing feminine scent. The florals are strong yet soft and expertly blended. Fruits are light, gentle, uplifting, wrapped in the gentle sweet flowers. A touch of white woods and light amber form a perfect smooth base, giving the scent a super long lasting quality. The scent reminds me of a rare cooling summer rain in a flower garden.
Overall, Sung Forever is delightful, not too light, not too heavy. It smells fresh, clean, smooth, not sharp, not dense or soapy. Projection is moderate and longevity is more than 12 hours on my skin. I know I will love this very feminine fresh clean long lasting blend …..Forever.

The lilly of the valley is very prominent to me in the initial burst. It definitely reminds of E.A.’s Splendor, Lalique’s Fleur de Cristal and MAYBE even a little of the original Lalique EDP which I used to love and wore for so many years. Sadly I cannot entirely recall the latter. Will need another sniff but it does make me think of Lalique EDP, so in my head there must be some sort of a connection no matter how faint it may be. Forever Alfred Sung to me is a mid-weight to soft feminine fragrance that requires no parental guidance nor age restrictions.

Very fresh with a dew on grass scent that brings to mind a dewy morning. I love it and it reminds me of CK Forever as the previous reviewer notes. It is a very similar scent but less intense for a lack of words for cloying. I don’t want to say CK forever is cloying but this is just a lighter embodiment. I love it and have gotten compliments on numerous occasions.

To me this perfume has two notable scents, an intense sweetness at first then within seconds, a powdery goodness. This is what I smelled when the sales lady spritzed it in the cover.

I bought Forever by Alfred Sung after I smelled it from a friend wearing it. It smells fresh and light floral on my friend. However, this perfume just don’t work with my body chemistry. Top notes smell a bit sharp on me then nothing. Will pass it to somebody.

This perfume is truly a uplifting spring beauty.
Yes it is slightly Sharp and stingy. but if you dont put to much on its a beauty.
the Narcisus is the most prominent on my skin peppery and warm like a sunny ray on a cool spring morning. Lily of the Valleys also lingers on the side . makes me longing for thouse early May days in the forest around where im living.
I always go out to pick lily of the valley in honour of my grandfather, he always took us into the forest to smell this beautiful flowers. so this is like a perfume With lovely memorys aswell for me.
I can not say i detect all the other notes apart from each other .
This is the kind of perfume i could see a bride wear . Bright, floral. luminous and romantic.
Yes it has a slightly formal approce, sligthly shy. But ohh so beautiful

This is one of my very favorite fragrances of all time, hands down. I first smelled it in 1996 while I was in college. It was a magazine insert. I got my first bottle of this as a gift from my grandmother, or as we affectionately called her, “Mema”. I have been hooked on this ever since. This is clean, fresh, green, and floral – yet it also has a nice musky note on me as well. It lasts a very long time on my skin, which I love. I always get compliments whenever I wear this. This is the fragrance I wore on my wedding day and just about everyone of my family members and friends that hugged me that day commented on how great I smelled! I am so happy that I am still able to purchase this online. I also find it sometimes in my local TJ Maxx, so whenever I see it, I make sure to get a bottle or two so I always have some on hand. This is a classic and I would never be without it! Very feminine, beautiful, memorable scent!

It smells very harsh for me. I got a head ache from wearing it:( I got it from TJMax after reading good reviews and it had 3 of my favorite flowers…Smells like old ladies. Not my scent.

Fresh, clean, green, slightly sweet floral.
The floral notes are very well blended, to me none of the individual notes is dominating the fragrance.
It’s quite strong and has some pretty good sillage because of it…
    Very long lasting as well…
A bit pungent in the opening. It finally settles into a softer scent, but it takes a while!
This is probably the one & only time that I will say: “I wished this scent was a little less strong”.
I never tend to get headaches due to perfumes, but this one can actually cause me one…

Fresh, green, a bit sharp, but very awakening.Really awakens the senses. I’d almost call it energizing. I wasn’t sure I loved it at first, but I showered after my workout and then sprayed Forever and it was perfect for a recharge!

It’s simple, it’s clean, it’s linear.. Like a mother’s hug, innocent and endearing.
I layer it with Jovan Musk to give it slight personality. It would definitely work better in the summer, due to its freshness.

LUVely….along the floral lines of Cabotine but not as refined…still, could be worn by all ages. The price is right 20.00 at Overstock.com for 4 ounces!

Fresh and floral, I get mostly lily of the valley from this, but the peony and freesia are coming through. I like this as a daytime casual scent. It’s lighthearted and seems innocent somehow. It’s a bit sharp and cool and very floral. Being an EDP, the lasting power is pretty good.

I’ve gone through two bottles, two lotions, and am using my third bottle of Forever. It lasts a long time on me, is a very calming and centering fragrance – delicate and pure. Excellent sillage for what some consider an unremarkable perfume. I’ve never found another scent that compares to this. It is unique and beautiful.

Perfectly pleasant. The listed notes make it sound more interesting than it actually is. Its fine for everyday so its great that it comes in a 125ml bottle.

(This review is for Eau de Perfume)
FOREVER by Alfred Sung is elegant, cool and reserved woody floral fragrance. This scent makes me feel classy and graceful but also calm and reserved. I wear it to the office when I need to keep my head cool and stay logical. But despite the formal feel, this scent is also very attractive and feminine. Spring-like and delicate, it reminds me of pastel colors, silver and pearls.
The starting notes are crispy fresh with lovely peony and tart berries. But this scent transforms very soon into slightly soapy composition on my skin. It is a bit cold and formal but quite pleasant. The flowers become more prominent again in the heart notes. They are crispy, cool and remind me of an early spring when the gentle floral beauties are still surrounded by the cold snow. I think that mostly I detect freesia and perhaps a bit of lily of the valleys. The rose is definitely there. It adds sweet tenderness to the composition but it is not the centre of the fragrance. The scent transforms into woody amber on the dry down. The woods are dry and a bit powdery but quite elegant. If I did not look at the notes, I would think that there is an orris (iris) in the dry down.
The fragrance has quite nice sillage and longevity. I would recommend it for those who like green and fresh floral perfumes with woody notes.

Love this scent it does smell like Eternity the first 10 mins or so, but then it dries down to a in my opinion a much lighter and sweeter scent. It’s fresh and very feminine and I get wiffs of this throughout the day not overwelming just nice. Good for the office or a date, a day of shopping or just coffee with friends very good value for the money to be sure. Not my absolute fav but a must have for a perfumeista. Bottom line nice silliage and decent lasting power.

This is one absolutely beautiful scent (sorry I can´t pick up any notes) Unfortunatelly, on my skin this beautiful scent makes its appearance only after 3 hours of wearing. But the first three hours…oh gosh….I tried to suffer throught and learn to love it several times because of this amazing dry down but I just couldn´t. Headache inducing. I felt so uncomfortable and without any self-confidence when wearing it…so I sadly don´t wear it anymore.
Sillage and lasting power are great!!!
EDIT: Who knew…. after 4 years of being invested in perfumes and getting my noise trained I finally can appreciate this fragrance in all its glory. Basically what I have written above is still valid but forget the part about the first three hours being horrible because they are not. Basically I agree with what was said about this fragrance being floral, green crispy yet very feminine. It is very well blended and quality fragrance. If you search for sillage and longetivity, this fragrance DELIVERS.

Like Poppy Vanderbilt, this too, was my first department store fragrance I ever bought. However, in my case, I really DID think it was something wonderful! I think I had sniffed it the week before purchasing it, and was in ‘awe’ of it (lol), cause I thought it smelled THAT nice. It also smelled expensive, and being around $75 for the 75ml, I believed I was right! This is the ONLY perfume to date, that I have used up entirely. I recently purchased a new bottle, for memories sake… It still smells as I remember it back when I was 18, and I still mostly smell some kind of mix of fresh flowers. Definitely not my cup of tea anymore, but still okay.

This is the first department store perfume i ever bought…i did so because they did not carry the perfume i went there for so i settled for this…i can’t say i ever “loved” the fragrance but it grew on me because i wore it all the time (i wasn’t going to waste a bottle of perfume that at the time to me seemed so expensive)…to me it was a clean bright floral fragrance that was not particularly special in any way but at times i would catch a wiff of myself and think..hhmmm pretty…so there you go it’s a pleasant clean bright green floral.

This is very sharp in the beginning reminds me of Eternity but cheaper.I don’t know what flowers I am smelling but it is a pretty good fragrance for the price.

Alfred Sung the original scent was an absolute favorite of mine in my late teens – a cool and original white floral, very unique at the time.
I looked forward to forever, and found it to be so utterly…….. ordinary.
nothing wrong, mind you, a perfectly pleasant and forgettable scent for a soap or a fabric refresher, or… … what was I talking about again?
Oh, yes, Alfred Sung Forever. Kinda forgot.
Just another sweet floral. I expected more.

Forever Alfred Sung
