Description
The word ” Attar “comes from the Urdu language and means” Fragrance Divine “, a definition which stresses the power of the magician in his wake. Formerly took the name of “Ittar” which in Arabic means “Heavenly Fragrance”.
According to legend, the birth of ‘ Attar is due to an accidental event. One day, the Persian Queen Nour-Dijhan, walking among the streams of the imperial garden, he noticed a veil fat floating on the water at the point where they drop thousands of roses. After collecting a few drops of that liquid gold with a peacock feather and it smelled, the queen was enchanted by what he called heavenly scent. Because of the sharp fall had been a natural process of distillation, which had brought to the surface the essence of the rose and gave birth to the first Attar of Rose. L ‘ Attar is completely free of alcohol and comes in an oily substance made by the soul alone, and only smelling extracted from natural raw materials, according to ancient procedures for processing.
A mosaic of ten scented oils give this attar several thousand shades and three different facets: floral, woody and oriental. In Arabic, Shams Al Doha means “Beautiful Dawn”. A composition that gently arises on soft notes of Jasmine and Rose, in the Damask and Bulgarian varieties, enhanced by a touch of oak moss. Extremely evocative, in the heart notes it becomes passionate under the warm touches of Saffron, Artemisia and Amber. Its final is “magnificent” and ends with a precious train of Sandalwood, Oudh Al Khaloud and Oud from Cambodia.

mostly sweet rose with background elements of oud coming through. nice enough, just a little like a few of the other amouage attars. there’s a smoothness that is quite appealing, but i’m let down by how ‘safe’ it is, if you will.

wow wow wow…this is artistry right here. wow. this starts off smelling harsh and abrasive. at the start i thought it was pen ink and leather (most likely oud, musk and amber). then all that haze lifts and the rose(s) appear front and centre with a supporting role from the sandalwood. wow.
the metamorphosis is immense, epic even…this is what amouage does SO SO SO SO SO well. it’s such a pity these works of art are discontinued or not for sale. such a pity.
on an aside, scoring each component is sooo hard. i mean, many of them appear, dominate, and then disappear. hard to score them. i mean, is sillage more important than the longevity? either way, wow…this is awesome perfumery right here and it sucks that you can’t get this anymore…

Love this one! Starts out with the beauty of rose for an hour or so then comes slowly the oud. The type that smells like the paste you clean your shoes with. With more flowers. Love it, but seriously!
