Perfection. What more can I say. In my opinion this composition oozes class and sophistication. Very impressed with this fragrance.

After I blind bought this, the first time i tried it was last summer in SC. I was over powered with a punch of chocolate and oud to a point I felt nauseating. Got home and took a shower (dint wash away completely). I was disappointed. Waited all the way until the colder days arrive. Wore the pardon, drove out 30 mins to pick up my date. She got in the car, the first thing she says…… “You smells very good !!!” unprompted.
    – That says enough about this scent.
Its a great composition, wear it with caution (1 for normal user, 2 for a heavy hitter should do).
Projection and Sillage – Very Good
Performance – Beyond any CREED (huh). Its better than 95% of niches out there.
Strictly, FALL and WINTER. (60 and below).
btw, If you are looking for a cheaper alternative (JV Dark Rebel Rider) shares about 70% similarities. Difference is Performance and Sillage. Apparently, Guys like JV DRR and Girls like the Pardon.
I am yet to try LIDGE
    – It will remain on my shelf. Until discontinued.

    @amanda7
You are experiencing the swamp gas that Nasomatto uses as its signature DNA. They like to purée mud and waterlogged logs into an unctuous primordial soup, and then season it with 600 megatons of ISO E. This is just another hack hipster house like D.S. & Durga, which is also fixated on mealy ISO E textures (except à-la-hairy-vegetable-tube-and-fig-Newton, as opposed to -peat-bog). Pretentious bilge water
It’s also so Olde-Fashioned. Postmodernism isn’t cool and dangerous anymore. It’s a tired, played-out, tacky aesthetic from the Class of 68. Classical beauty is ascendant these days, thank God. Give me the sublime and the beautiful, and flush the cesspool fragrances.

This smells really similar to Tom Ford for Men Extreme but with chocolate instead of caramel as in the Tom Ford. It’s a slightly boozy chocolate scent with caramel and a hint of cinnamon. However there is an oriental quality about it that makes it totally different in some way from your average perfume; I think I detect the scent of cannabis and lemon in this oddly (and not in Black Afgano). The scent is incredibly pleasing overall and leans masculine. It’s a very dark and mysterious yet slightly sweet scent. Sillage is strong while longevity is quite good at over 8 hours.

Pardon is woody, sensual, delicious, dark, and completely mysterious. Try finding something at your local mall that smells like this. You probably can’t. It’s unique, sexy, sensual, and made for a confident man (or women) who wants to stand out yet embrace the charisma they present. Stunning juice in a bottle that lasts forever and ever. Absolutely wonderful. This one is NOT for the teeny boppers. Must have maturity and life experiences to pull this masterpiece off.
    10/10

Not sexy, not chocolatey, just packed with patchouli and oud, not medicinal
Or fecal Just very woody, mature and bitter! You could go with Bentley intense for a very similar vibe while saving heaps and getting way more volume. Disappointing! Literally not even close to being a gourmand.
The more I smell it the closer I think it is to Laudano Nero but less pungent. Similar characteristics. This one is extremely musty as it dries down, gross.

I blind bought this based on a recomendation which I know is not particularly advisable however I am more than pleased with this frag.
It’s everything I like in a ‘darker’ fragrance.
A Smokey, incensce vibe with a woody, creamy and goumandy element with the chocolate note.
Good to excellent sillage and projection. Good longevity as well.
    Lovely.
Would like to try Black Afgano also.

Smells very similar to Bentley Intense, albeit a slightly more rounded version. I didn’t get any chocolate, more a boozy vibe. I also didn’t get much projection, even though I sprayed it four times. It turned into a skin scent after a couple of hours.

This one reminds me of LIDGE (and LIDG), + Dior Homme. It’s not any sort of dead ringer for either of those of course, but definitely reminds me of them. That’s probably a irritating thing to say but just for info for anyone who hasn’t smelled it fixing to blind buy . I would recommend it , personally

To be honest, quite disappointed with how this smells. It smells exactly like an extract of a desert wine, like a portwine or something, but very very concentrated.
Not worth the pricetag, and honestly I wouldn’t have this in my rotation no matter the price.

Now I am not going to ramble on like a professor of scents here! The scent of chocolate is not delicious but the taste is!
This is not an animalic/medicinal or Pungent OUD But a creamy delicious OUD!
This is a KO from the first spray all the way into the shower next morning, Women loves it and if it is sprayed on the neck areas ; She transformed into a Vampire and men wants to know what it is and where they can buy it!
PS;I douse my self in this stuff and the compliments and attention was greater!
Please disregard all of the poor/cheap comparisons above ; For those bathtub brews are way off!
    Scent 10/10
    Silage 10/10
    Lasting power 10/10
    Thanks,

I don’t know if the oud that Pardon and Duro have in common is synthetic or not (probably is), but no matter: There’s a chemical/synthetic quality about that key note that gives these scents a pleasantly edgy vibe. But while Duro relies a bit too heavily on it, Pardon uses notes of caramel and chocolate to soften it, which is more to my liking. The result: a creamy-woody take on oud that makes Pardon that rare thing: a truly wearable, sexy gourmand for men. As with Duro and Black Afgano, Pardon has excellent longevity; a little goes a very long way.
    A very pleasant 8/10.

I Find This When I Was Searching For “Oud” Fragrance
I Try Acqua Di Parma Oud
    Tom Ford Oud Wood
    Versace Oud Noir
    Black Afgano
    M7 Abboslu Oud
    Montale Oud
    Ermengildo Zenga Indonesian Oud
    And This , Pardon .
    It’s Such A Beautiful Scent
This Was War Acqua Di Parma Oud Vs Pardon
Acqua Di Parma Oud For Me Was Too Much Of Something
But This One , So Clean And Sexy At The Same Time
So “Honorable” And “Fresh” At The Same Time
    Something that i C’ant Explain ..
So Special And “I Know This” At The Same Time
    Well Blended . !

    A real beauty is this!
As I write I am comparing this to LIDG side by side – I must say this literally pulls the pants down of Guerlain’s alleged masterpiece, spanks its botty and sends it to bed early with no supper & no telly. There is no comparison here. This does what LIDGE apparently is trying to do – but much better.
    An absolutely perfect winter fragrance.
Women love this, I mean real women – not teeny weenies – but the 25+ – that is because this is grown man stuff. I have got compliments every time.
Pardon opens with a bitter and very dark chocolate which slowly cedes its dominance to wood – but the cocoa hangs around just enough to be noticed until the end.
And the end takes some time for this is a very good performer – not sure if it is the absolute beast claimed, but it does last – and project. Only issue? You got it – the price. £120 for 30mls is expensive (although considering I need 20 sprays of LIDG to equal 2-3 sprays of this means this is actually better value).
This is a REAL masterpiece – astonishing to think Pardon is not even Nasomatto’s best offering – that goes to Black Afgano (I have not tried Duro yet however).

Wow, what a lovely fragrance. To me, Pardon opens up with incense, very smokey. Later on, it dries down to a sweet spicy scent mixed with some gorgeous, clean oud. Very sophisticated, very pleasant. Do check it out, I think you won’t be disappointed. This one should be reserved for those special occasions in the colder weather.

I love the smell of this scent, but I prefer “Opus VI” by Amouage, as it lasts twice as long and smells better (on my skin) with natural ingredients. To me, It’s a no brainer.
I just want other people to know that their is a much superior alternative out there. 1 bottle will last for years as you only need one spray of this beast (Opus VI) 3.4oz performing fragrance.

  19. :

Easy to wear sexy, spicy sandalwood chocholate, sweetened with tonka. I’m pretty sure that there’s no oud note in Pardon. I like opening a lot. It’s so smooth, woody and gourmand at the same time. After a few hours, Pardon becomes pure sandalwood with a touch of tonka. All in all, I really like Pardon. My biggest complain is that its projection is not a very strong. Most of the time Pardon stays on the skin as skin scent. Price is very high for 30ml but I enjoy it a lot so I recommend it for buying.

  20. :

Alongside Acqua di Parma Colonia Leather, Pardon is my latest purchase and this is my initial impressions.
To describe Pardon is one word: masterpiece!
Deserves all the hype and some more! Nasomatto is a italian word which translates to “crazy nose” and this fragrance in particular is the crazy genius from the brand. It’s a perfect blend of dark chocolate with oud, spices, tonka bean and some sandalwood way in the back. Masterfully blended, Pardon is such a special scent, with – what it seems to have – a beast performance, that 30 ml will last for very long time.
    LOVE IT!
(Baraonda is the next to be added)

Everytime I wear this I feel special. One of few fragrances that gives me a feeling of altered identity. It is very rare to find a wearable masterpiece like this. The 30 ml bottle last a long time.

I can’t stand the constant complaints about performance.. Especially with a fragrance this potent. It seems performance is all anyone cares about these days… With a fragrance like this, less is more. One spray to the back of my neck and I am set for 12 hours. Just because you can’t smell it on yourself after a few hours doesn’t mean its not there… All this paranoia from the fragrance community is driving me nuts.
The scent is a dry chocolate and oud combo. With hints of sandalwood, cinnamon and vanilla. A very well blended synthetic composition. I have no issue with the fact that Galtieri primarily uses synthetics, I think they smell great and this is certainly no ordinary perfume. I feel like there is a hay note in this, giving it that dryness, however that could be the cocoa and/or oud.
Pardon is perhaps the only dark fragrance that gets me compliments from women on a regular basis. They really seem to like it. Mysterious and sexy is what I’m told. A nicely done, very unique and luxurious composition that seems like a magic potion sitting in that beautiful bottle, the dark green liquid looks amazing. 8/10

I will start by thanking God for allowing to buy this at a Great price, Otherwise I would be pulling my hair by now. Do not get me wrong, it is a nice smelling oud scent for those ones like me HATING the classic oud-rose combo.
The problem is that the hype is so high on this I was expecting something out of this world….and believe me…even when nice, it is not…by any means… something out of this world…
I do not believe the retail price or the hype is adequate….this fragrance, given the size, does not deserve to be sold at more than 75-90 euros…Really not worth that money for so little juice of a fragrance that besides DOES NOT project except for the first 20-50 minutes….
    Smell: 8
    Projection: 5
Longevity: 7 (7-8 hours but close to the skin)
    presentation: 9
    Uniqueness: 8
Overall: 7.5-8….but again….just if you buy it for max 90 eur. NOT WORTH THE INCREDIBLE HYPE….

On me, this fragrance is oud, patchouli, cocoa and a slight touch of white florals. A very good job in terms of blending. It is not as unique and as recognizable as Black Afghano in terms of scent but it is a very good creation and a very romantic oud gourmand combo.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

Although the scent character is not really to my taste, i can see the quality of it plus the longevity is absolutely crazy! Lasts well over 24 hours and you still don’t even have to dig your nose into your skin to get it.

  27. :

A contemporary gourmand balancing sweetness and bitterness, Pardon is both aggressively potent and masculine.
Linear, sweet, exquisitely crafted – there’s definite cinnamon tinged dark chocolate with tonka bean, magnolia and smoky oud, all backboned by a floral nuanced strong resinous-woody base. The cinnamon and sandalwood give the impression of incense in the dry down. Heady in a word.
Sillage is enormous upon initial application, settling heavy-moderate. Longevity is very good.

Anyone who doesnt get magnolias is not very familiar with magnolias. This is a great scent and probably something of a modern classic. I do note mostly rave reviews and with good reason. Its very masculine, but uniquely so. This is the masculine of intellect and accomplishment, without being arrogant at all or in any way corporate board room. Its more oxford spires mixed with bordering gourmand influence. Eating parisian chocolate in an oxford lecture hall maybe. With subtextual italian touches.

Outstanding, love the combo mixture of ingredients all done elegantly with class. I love the cinammon and chocolate in the background. This is one of my new favorites. Best for night out or smart casual. Thumbs up!

Simular to Guerlain L’instant pour homme extreme edp due to chocolate note

  31. :

    4 out of 5

I find Pardon a very unique fragrance. The combination is one which is very interesting. I get the woods (agarwood, sandalwood etc) plus the tonka bean and chocolate. The cinnamon also play a role here and it makes a fantastic, almost slightly goumand-ish pairing with the chocolate. This fragrance is borderline gourmand and it has a great balance to it.
I could see this one as a formal fragrance, I could see this also as a fragrance which is smart-casual. It has a hint of playfulness to it but I don’t think that it would be restricted only to those occasions.
As far as being pure parfum concentration, I can’t find any more difference in longevity etc than that of an eau de parfum. I don’t see the difference. Ultimately, you would have to try this and make up your own mind on it. I think it’s a great fragrance in it’s own right, just one that everyone should try out and test thoroughly first.

Recently got myself a bottle of this after a long wait. I have been wearing it almost daily even though it is hot and humid around here.
The first day I could sense a very strong resemblance to first reformulation M7 which I happen to own. After putting them on side by side I found differences in then. M7 being the more sweeter one.
Recently though I can smell an undertone very similar to YSL Rive Gauche and a very mild resemblance to Aqua di Parma colonia intensa because of the powdery vibe.

went looking for pardon, curious and excited from all the rave from different people; i was bent on getting one. when i finally found it, i was, well, i wouldn’t say disappointed… but it smelled to me like YSL’s M7, which i already have.
pardon is wonderful, but i bought black afgano instead.

Oh, this could be the oud for me! Chocolate, tonka, sandalwood, cinnamon, oud, what this boils down to on my wrist is pure nose crack. I sprayed this on my skin a few hours ago and have had a hard time not sniffing it again and again. More typically masculine than feminine, superb longevity and sillage and definiitely my favourite so far of the Nasomatto’s I’ve tried. Chocolate oud (the name you shall henceforth be known to me by), you are a sweet beast of pleasure and I think I’ll be sniffing you again soon.

In my opinion– Nasomattos’s magnum opus. The best of their line, and one of the best scents I’ve smelled. I first smelled this in 2012 at a brick and mortar, along with a few others and other niche fragrances, and admittedly I felt a little too young to really appreciate or understand it. I thought it was too strong, too heavy, and a little too old-manish.
Fast forward to the end of 2016 and I decided to get a small 1ml decant to revisit this, as it’s still a much talked about niche fragrance and I wanted to explore more niche lines. Upon smelling this, I liked it. But it wasn’t really amazing to me. 10 minutes later and I started getting whiffs of something incredible. This is masculinity in a bottle. It’s such a gorgeous smokey oud, with very faint, very sexy, but only slightly sweet dark chocolate, and an absolutely gorgeous sandalwood. What made this go from like to love was the complexity of the chocolaty oud and that smokey note. Given 10 minutes to dry down a bit and the smoke became transcendent to me, and painted a wonderful olfactory landscape in my mind, as all masterpieces in perfumery do. This smoke reminded me of a beautiful char-coaled wood vibe on my skin. If you burnt quality oud in the remnants of a spent volcano, still charred but no longer spewing lava, this is the smoke I imagine you’d get from it– the edge of a smoking volcano, charred, chocolatey oud chips releasing a thick, heavy, masculine aroma into the air. I can’t really describe it. I just love it so much. It makes me honestly really sad that I can’t really afford to buy a bottle of it however. The performance is over 10 hours as expected from quality niche houses. As a young university student, $185 for 30ml of this beautiful juice is simply outside of my miniscule budget, as I believe I’d wear it every chance I got, and it would disappear quickly. A reviewer below me said this is 27 and up. Honestly, it’s older than that. This is 30-35+, even 40+. But not for an old campy guy in a sweater on a golf course, or sitting in his favorite chair by some antiques, no sir. This is not one of those scents. This isn’t the bottle of [Insert Polo colour here] you buy for your Dad or Grandad for christmas. This is sophistication. Class. This is what the most interesting man in the world would wear. A weathered, knowledgeable, seasoned man with sharp, clean features, well groomed stubble, piercing eyes and a lot of stories to tell, all of which he’d tell very well. It’s for the kind of guy who is very confident in himself, his looks, and his wit. This is the older man who gets all the younger ladies, a playboy without trying to be a playboy, his natural aura does it for him. Of the era where men were actually men, and masculinity was appreciated, even respected, instead of shunned like it is today. Make no mistake, this is a heavy scent, and my image, or expectation of the man who can pull this off may seem few and far between, but this scent is as unique as the man who wears it needs to be. More realistically, this is for older men who are in charge of their lives, stoic and well dressed, handsome, well-liked and the center of attention, always demanding respect without ever asking for it. A man who still values what it means to be a man. But I cannot fault anyone for saying a younger guy can pass this off, as I imagine anyone who loves this scent as much as I do would definitely add the age cutoff at the age they’re closest to, lol. Regardless, I think of this as one of my top scents, despite not being able to own a full bottle of this gorgeous elixir. Perhaps someday.

    wow wow wow
This perfume haunts me. Such a rich and gentle scent.
One of the best Oud combination ever.
Oud in this perfume smell incredibly sexy and charming.
On lifetime of this perfume on my skin does not changes a lot but still quite attractive to doesn’t feel boring.
Combination of Dark chocolate, Creamy sandalwood and Smoky oud and a little bit roasted Tonka been blend very well together and prompt one of the warmest and best masculine scent ever.
I barely sense other notes on my skin because of domination of oud combination
So well played Mr. Gualtieri well played.
Projection and longevity are good but not strong as Black afgano but so much prettier scent 😉

I own a decant of LIDGE, and have only sampled this one – but the sample was enough to tell this is – for me – a far superior and more interesting scent on every level. It’s richer, darker, and where LIDGE has this sort of linear and somewhat cloying make-up/lipstick vibe, Pardon is deeper and more complex, far more woody and the oud(?) gives it an extra dimension. This one has a mysterious and addictive quality that will keep your nose guessing what’s in it, but mostly just enjoying it

  42. :

    4 out of 5

comparisons with LIDGE really make sense to me, these two definitely share some similarities but LIGDE to me has always been something outside this world nothing comes even closer to it at least to me.
Pardon is stronger , thicker and may be a bit long lasting , it has chocolate , woods , flowers and OUD , OUD makes it thicker , sometimes cloying and heavy , could not be worn in hotter days.
All in all a favorite from the house and works very well if applied in nights.

Some people wear certain fragrances to garner compliments, while others wear a fragrance because they want to feel a certain way and be unique. I for one, enjoy trying unique scents since I recently started my fragrance journey. One of my favorite reviewers regards this as his favorite of all time. I decided to get a sample. This was my first oud-based fragrance and I wasn’t disappointed.
I work in an environment where I wear a suit and tie everyday and meet with clients. That is the perfect attire for this masterpiece. I prefer wearing this at night, but I’ve also worn it during the day. It’s masculine without a doubt and I often refer to it as “class in a bottle”.

I was really excited to get my hands on this beauty and today I finally got it. When I first sniffed it I started wondering what it smelled like, I was sure that I had smelled something similar but I could not figure out what it smelled like. I went through all my perfumes at home and I got my eyes on M7 oud absolu from YSL. On my left arm I sprayed M7 Oud Absolu YSL and on my right arm I sprayed Pardon. Any difference? Yes, but Not a huge difference! M7 is stronger but smells very very very similar to Pardon. Both of them are semi-medicinal warm spicy and kinda nice to wear during autumn/winter.

I can see the comparison to LIDGE… the semi sweet chocolatey opening can be related, but indeed, after a short while each perfume takes its own way, and these paths are somewhat different. While LIDGE remains a gourmand scent, and the woody-patchouli base slowly takes over, Pardon remains and goes more and more bitter.
Talking about this one, the oud/sandalwood base is really where it gravitates toward, as the cinammon-tonka chord is almost gone after a few minutes. Oddly, on this composition, the tonka is not on the base. Indeed, everything – the bitter chocolate with some florals, as well the spiced-coumarin heart – is a preparation for the strong – and excellently blended – oud note on the base. Sandalwood makes it distinctively dry and almost bitter, but in a good way; no words to describe the oud/sandalwood dry and sharp effect on this one. Makes it somewahat formal, but sensual/manly at the same time (hello, M7!)
AND, if I were told to describe this scent by comparisons, I would say that it’s 60% vintage M7 (minus the sweet/syrupy amber), and 40% LIDGE (minus the patchouli). Obviously, I’m not saying that if you mixture those two you would have Pardon, nor saying that the three fragrances are alike; only that they have some notes/chords in common. In short, only a way to describe one based on the resemblance of another, that’s all.
Very well done, could easily be the best of this maison.

Pure nonsense to compare Pardon to Guerlain L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme.
People go back and finally learn to smell – I can also try to comapare Pardon to Fahrenheit, could’t I.

I love what this frag wants to be (in the same way that I love The One)…but Tonka bean smells rancid on my skin.

One of the most memorable and distinguished masculine frags I’ve ever smelled. Ever. Starting off with a spicy cocoa powder, soft sandalwood, and evolving to a smooth oud base, Pardon is refined yet rugged, strong yet gentle, unique yet likeable, rich yet humble. One of those fragrances that immediately transports you to another place and time. Interestingly enough, I imagine Clint Eastwood in his Old-West days when I smell this. I imagine this might be worn by a wealthy steel baron in the late 19th century who still likes to remember those rugged old days he spend as a cowboy. Pardon is one of those rare ones that remind me that fragrances can indeed be art.

smells a bit like what Serge Noire smelled like in the bottle before SL became like fish on my skin; this is a bit woodier than I like; no flowers, chocolate or vanilla; just wood wood wood and oud; since I love oud, I like this; it is a powerhitter. I am a woman and am wearing it. Reminds me of a milder and woodier form of Boadicea Complex, which I LOVE, without quite as much complexity. But, unlike Black Afgano, this one did not last very long on my skin, about 2-3 hours then it is a faint powdery smell. Weird. My skin has been eating stuff up lately.

LIDGE with a different cocoa vibe, less potent and very well watered. A piky and expensive scent with lack of originality and pride. Guerlain was first and definitely this one is a copy of it. Pardon, no.

Guerlain L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme.. that’s what immediately popped in my mind when I first sniffed this.
Very very close. You could call Pardon a more refined version of Eau Extreme. So if You don’t mind paying so much for 30 ml (oh and btw Guerlain pour homme Eau Extreme is a beast mode fragrance as well – so don’t tell me that Pardon will last longer – what, You’re gonna HALF spray it???) go ahead and buy this one.
If You want to save your money on niche that is actually original than don’t buy this and buy the Guerlain one instead. Simple as that 🙂

Very well made. It reminds me a lot of Frederic Malle’s Dries van Noten, but it’s a tiny bit less gourmand, more woodsy. This could very well be a unisex fragrance.

Being a big fan of Lidge and after reading several reviews about Pardon, I had sampled BA , excellent quality but just not to my tastes I guess is the best way to put it. After reading reviews my interest was peaked and I sought out a sample. My first reaction was that other viewers were right on the money about being similar to Lidge and at first I thought they were very close. I purchased a bottle of Lidge about 3 years ago. I still have a good amount of it left. What separates Pardon for me is a wood note, maybe agarwood? That note makes Pardon really stand apart to me. Not a fragrance I can wear everyday but I will reach for it on those occasions where I want to stand out a bit. I believe go light and test it before going for that second or third spray as this is a very potent fragrance and it could end up overpowering a room before you realize. It is still my opinion that LIDGE is a fantastic fragrance and still among my favorites but I now look at Pardon as it’s own fragrance.

Nasomatto Pardon gets a lot of niche buzz, and understandably so, as it’s a rich, spicy, mostly masculine composition in a strong extrait form that makes it appropriate for winter use. I don’t get as much of the sweetness (chocolate, tonka are listed notes) that I do in, say, LIDGE, but LIDGE makes for a good comparison. Nasomatto lives at the intersection of sweetness, booziness (some overlap with Bentley Intense), spiciness (cinnamon is the main ingredient), and woodiness (the balanced pairing of oud and sandalwood). It has a lot going on and this depth certainly comes through.
Performance-wise, it’s very strong in both projection and longevity, as expected by its concentration. Even as an extrait, $185 for 30ml retail (Luckyscent, Twisted Lily, etc.) is a little steep, considering a 30ml extrait masterpiece like Rose Flash can be purchased for a third of the price. Still, it’s intriguing and strong enough that I could see this being a men’s signature scent so if it work
