Description

The word ” Attar “comes from the Urdu language and means” Fragrance Divine “, a definition which stresses the power of the magician in his wake. Formerly took the name of “Ittar” which in Arabic means “Heavenly Fragrance”.
According to legend, the birth of ‘ Attar is due to an accidental event. One day, the Persian Queen Nour-Dijhan, walking among the streams of the imperial garden, he noticed a veil fat floating on the water at the point where they drop thousands of roses. After collecting a few drops of that liquid gold with a peacock feather and it smelled, the queen was enchanted by what he called heavenly scent. Because of the sharp fall had been a natural process of distillation, which had brought to the surface the essence of the rose and gave birth to the first Attar of Rose. L ‘ Attar is completely free of alcohol and comes in an oily substance made by the soul alone, and only smelling extracted from natural raw materials, according to ancient procedures for processing.

Interwoven with golden hints of, the plot of Asrar, whose name in Arabic means “Secrets”, is decorated with notes, as if by magic, they appear under the nose an oriental garden nestled between Dream and Reality. The species chosen for this spell are among the most evocative in the world of fragrance and have been blended with care because their emotional power remains intact. A touch of saffron, a handful of spices, four drops of amber, musk, and then a puff of a distillate of Oudh, the bark of an infusion of exotic wood and sandalwood. A mixture of the extraordinary power that opens the door to the wonderful.

Available in 12 ml bottle.

Possibly the most beautiful fragrance I have ever encountered! I love this exceptional creation – after some disappointment with Tribute and Homage (likely bad luck with batch variations) I figured Asrar would be nothing more than another fine piece to add to my collection, but this one is a winner! The rose, saffron, musk and wood notes combine in perfect harmony and the result is a masterpiece. Totally unisex, very rose-oriented, similar to Al Mas, but in my opinion, much more interesting.

I have 5 of Amouage attars in my collection:
1- Asrar (Old & New formulation).
    2. Badre Al boudor.
    3. Tribute
    4. Al Mas.
    5. Homage.
The best and the most wearable one IMO is ASRAR. It is spicy, oudy, gourmandish, well blended and delicious. Oud and Saffron notes are balanced and well blended. Oud in ASRAR is not like most of attars. There is no dominating notes in asrar. I live in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and people here are experienced in attars and oud-based fragrances. There are many local companies specialized in oriental middle-east type of fragrances like Abdul Samad Al Qurashi, Al Arabia for Qud, Al Majed for Oud King of Oud. But who ever smells ASRAR would totally appreciate it.
The old formulation is slightly better. It’s color is orange where the new formulation is red like Al Mas
    My evaluation:
    Sent : 9/10
    Projection 8/10
    longevity: 9/10
    Silage: 9/10
    Complement: 9/10
    Overall: 9/10
    Masterpiece!!

such unbridled smoothness and texture. i can’t even begin to explain how awesome this mix is. seriously…saffron should be used in pillaf or pulao or whatever. it NEVER smells this nice in food, but in perfume it’s just AMAZING.
no idea why these have been discontinued. why why why???

From the unisex & female wearable attars, Asrar by Amouage is real amazing. The top note will mellow in about 10 minutes and its pure bliss. Stunning, classy, beautiful is Asrar.
Its suitable for Middle Eastern and Western preferences. Very unique and it is a very femme attractive blend. Pure perfection in a lovely bottle. Enjoy enjoy.
Tahani reminds me of biryani. I am obsessed with Amouage.
tayyiba, a cloying floral. Not bad not a favorite.
    Preferably are more wonderful Amouage attars;
Homage 10/10& tribute 10/10 leans toward masculine and just wonderful.
Al Mass is a genuine favorite of all times of all attars.
If one likes al mas 10/10then they will surely enjoy Asrar. both are leaning toward a cream confection gourmande. Al Mas is better than most fragrances very nice. If someone likes Lyric, Gold or Memoir Woman they surely may consider Al Mas.
there is shams Doha very very very nice oud. Classy smooth.
For those who like powdery and soft fragrance then Amouage Musk attar. Its a powdery musk.
Amouage Sandal. Sandal is not readily available. Can be ordered at any Amouage house upon request. price is most reasonable as is Al Mas. Sandal is a beautiful cream sandalwood. It opens with a hay like scent that quickly vanishes to a wonderful, amazing sandalwood. Its great for laying.
Musk is used in perfumes to create longer longevity and sometimes you can use Musk under a perfume or faintly mixed in a fragrance to create a longer longevity. Amouage Musk is surely a musk of choice.

I like this attar very much. First it’s a garden on me, with herbs and flowers, and saffron is their king. Somebody forgot a sceptre here, it smells of freshly applied rubbing alcohol. I like the picture: rubbing alcohol amid scents of the garden. The sceptre gets more ammonium chloridish and vanishes in the garden scents. An Eastern mage appears, he asks: “You crave Eastern spices, traveller from Europe?” He leads me, while sounds, colours, and smells rush by… or maybe they don’t, and we walk at a normal pace, but everything slows down around us? I don’t know. Finally, here it is – the bazaar. Spices! They peep through the flowers and herbs, they give a short laugh, they hide to come outand to laugh again and again. About four hours later the spices stop playing hide-and-seek, they come to the garden and take root there, as some unusual kind of flowerherb, smelling nicely along with all that grows in that garden, for about 12-20 hours.

I was hoping this would be a strong sandalwood/amber mix, but alas, it’s not. This wears sweet on me; very, very sweet. What is this? Saffron? I’m not sure, but the whole thing is discordant and harsh.
For attars to work you need a lingering, lush base. This is too top heavy. Something needs to come out of this altogether. I’ve also smelled this before, likely in a composition 1 tenth the price.
So OK, nothing overly special here.

Wow! It smells so much like Tribute Attar. I don’t smell a difference. It took so long and Im like “More of the Same”! Its leathry, smoky just like Tribute. I ordered the 30ml. I was like its so small and the wait from Bahrain. I’m like WTF!!!! Okay I done with this line! I have DIA,David Yurman Limited Edition and now this one! Next??? I heard of Hermes Ambre Narguile that’s my next adventure. Cheerios!!!
