Description

SHA is a continuation of Shi, an optimistic response in the tones of champaign.

Sha is a floral green composition, created of fragrant bouquet of lotus, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, ivy, exotic Frangipani flower, sweet jasmine, lilac, and hibiscus, over the base of cedar, sensual musk and heliotrope. It is a limited edition created in 2003.

Sha is one of my spring and summer mainstays. I like the Lily of the Valley note. It’s a very light and airy fragrance, like smelling flowers right after a rain. unfortunately, the longevity and sillage is terrible. But since I wear fragrance me (aroma therapy) and not necessarily for others, the 2 – 3 hours is OK. It’s too bad that it’s only available on places like eBay and Amazon. But it’s big sister, Shi,
Is similar and will give off the same ambience.

A simply lovely, lilac skin scent. The opening is clean, a mildly soapy, water lily. Very fresh and dewy but not aquatic. And then the musk comes in and it’s so very Human; a very interesting and sensuous phase, also very short lived. I really like the play of the musk, it’s sexy, sexy skin. And then the lilacs BLOOM into the scent. They’re soft, very fresh lilacs. The scent settles together into well blended bouquet; lilacs dominate but it is not a soliflore. Projection is very close to the skin for the entire duration. Wear time is up to about 6 hours.

I first got this back in the early 2000s when I smelled a dry paper sample in a mailer from Macys and became obsessed with the fragrance. I loved it then but for some reason quickly forgot it, perhaps it is too clean for me since I enjoy more complex fragrances. I have a 3/4 full bottle of 3.4oz EDT that I would be happy to trade if anyone is interested. I just tested it and it is still fresh smelling, on me I get the lilac very strongly, with a slightly sharp scent that may be the ivy, and then eventually I just get a very soft clean slight floral.
Edit: Layered with Pomme Poivre from Love + Toast this lovely lilac works much better for me. The subtle spiciness and woodiness of the PP negate the watery sour element of Sha, and make the lilac sing like it should. Thanks to Fragantician reviews, I am learning wonderful ways to experiment with wearing fragrances!

Love Alfred Sung and Sung and Sha are my top favorites of his! This smells like fresh blossoming lilac and wisteria it is wonderful and men noticed it quite frequently! I so wish this was still made the scent transports me to a place where time does not exist and the Gods are smiling upon me and everyone around, very very happy inducing spell this perfume has on me and my overall outlook is so positive with this stuff! Amazing!

As with most of Sung’s scents, this was TOO much of a skin scent for me. I can barely detect it unless I bury my nose into my wrist. It also comes across as “perfumey”. I won’t be repurchasing this one, though it doesn’t smell bad and probably won’t offend anyone at the office.
His signature Sung perfume is a real winner though…strong, feminine, and unique. It smells natural, not perfumey. I also mostly like Paradise. It seems as though the company started focusing more on gimmicky marketing rather than the scent itself after his first signature scent came out.

This starts off beautifully on my skin with jasmine and frangipani creating a sweet, almost creamy vanilla scent mixed in with a soapy, ladylike lily-of-the-valley. Lilac and musk slowly emerge from this mixture and drive back the others, mingling with lily-of-the-valley and turning this into a very pleasant soapy scent.
It’s perfect for those looking for a fragrance that smells very clean, of lilacs, and laydylike. I will say that I don’t see it appealing too much towards the younger crowd, for while it is nice, the lilac and lily-of-the-valley do come off as smelling very mature.
If the jasmine and frangipani were at the forefront of this blend and the other florals were more of an accent, I can see this having a place in my fragrance wardrobe. As it is, I prefer smelling this type of scent in my bath soap, not as a fragrance.

I really enjoyed this, and purchased a bottle or two when it was still around. It’s similar to Shi (which I don’t like), but it has prominent musky lilac notes. It brought to mind vintage Love’s Musky Jasmin. Another reviewer said “washed lilacs after rain”…Yes! I also get the smell of ozone-reawakening-lithium-sunset.

Elegant sexy light. I sparingly use it you cannot find this fragrance simply everywhere.

I have an awful cold so what I say today may or may not be accurate. I find it very green and very clean. I am missing any musk from the opening and believe I am picking up the ivy. This is pleasant and very, very different from my other 100 or so fragrances.
I will be back later when I can smell better. I really want to get a wiff of this when I can smell because it is fascinating.

I love this fragrance as well. Almost smells like a very grown up chicer version of Windsong. Just fragrant and lovely like a freshly picked flowers. LOVE.

Haven’t tried it but I would love to! Just looking at the notes listed here I know it will smell fabulous like all of Sung’s other scents.
