This is nicer compared to the original, which I found too sweet. It starts with a quite strong cassis-rose-cedar combination (non-alchoholic start! a good thing for a perfume), to me there is a subtle fresh sweetness from the cassis, but not cloying at all. Ambrette develops soon afterwards and the scent is pretty linear soapy, rose becoming more prominent within the next 30 minutes. I get a hint of patchouli?! Woody, aromatic, rosey… It could work unisex.
All in one, unexpectedly elegant. Like.
