Pleasures Exotic Estée Lauder for women of Estée Lauder

Share:

Description

Pleasures Exotic is a floral-fruity fragrance which will for sure be appealing to those who love the scent of exotic fruits in a fragrance. The top notes are sunny, joyous and mouthwatering: green leaves, pink grapefruit, orange, and lemongrass. The heart notes are translucent and dewy, composed of a number of flowers and exotic spices: bamboo flower, hibiscus, orange blossom, followed by litchi, and apricot, opulent peony, rose, rare flower Bougainvillea Vine and Baie rose. The base introduces exotic woods and amber.

So soapy on my skin – like dishwashing liquid soapy, with an undercurrent of hairspray. It doesn’t change from initial spray to dry down, sadly. I really want d to like this one, all of the notes sound lovely – but I can’t pick any of them out! It’s just…. plain, generic soap.

I own all perfumes in the pleasures line. Just bought my last Exotic bottle at Nordstrom last year and have noticed these perfumes begin to smell bad after light/sun exposure. So, beware…
Regardless, this has always been my favorite in the pleasures line. It does smell exotic! This also lasts forever. Ugh, so good!!!
PS: I smell citrus and flowers

i had this perfume a long time ago. really beautiful floral fruity perfume. i get so many compliments every time i wear it. a bit harsh for the opening but after an hour, it turn down to floral and less fruity. dry down is dry fruity with floral.
i try to find out this perfume at the local shopping mall in my country, unfortunately it was discontinued. perrrrrrrgggg.

Extremely similar to Pleasures, but with a fruity tropical breeze.
Very feminine, light, romantic and sensual, ideal for summer days and evenings, holidays, beach weddings, it is fun, informal, and lasts very well.

This is the only perfume that smells good on me. I love it. The musk is not strong at all. I don’t smell it. This is unusual because musk turns into horrible armpit BO on my skin. With this fragrance, no signs at all! The perfume has a sharp but inoffensive citrus note. It’s beautiful. I’m still trying to find something like it.

It smells very soapy initially- not like abrasive dish washing liquid, but just normal bar soap. As that fades the lemongrass comes through, which gives it a zingy freshness, and I think I get the rotten/tropical smell of paw paw. It’s not horrible, but it’s very soapy and fairly strong too. I can imagine a lot of people liking this, but it’s not for me.

I have the rollerball version of this. I like what this fragrance settles down to after awhile! Even though it’s a very summer-ry fragrance, I plan to wear this during the winter. You think happy thoughts about summertime fun at the tropics (lol) when you wear it and I think it would smell great even during cold seasons. The hibiscus was pretty intense for me but I like it. It turns into a nice musky scent after awhile.
It’s fairly light if you don’t over-apply it and I think that’s perfect.

I feel fresh when i wear it. I bought the miniature size which has roll on. Glad to have it even finally dropped by my little boy and broke, the smell stayed on my entire room for a couple of days LOL 😀
Now i m about to try EL pleasures eau fraiche.

Always enjoy wearing, makes me feel lighthearted, love the sweet grapefruit..with a touch rose and spice..most scents on me become very sharp, if
they contains notes of white flowers and citrus, but this remains sweet/crisp and soft all at once (kinda like a first kiss with the boy next door), many positive remarks from men and women. On a sad note..scent does not last long ..young romance..

Pleasures Exotic is all about litchi, bamboo and peony to me. It’s juicy, fresh, green & clean. A nice, soft feminine fragrance for spring.
I don’t find it particularly exotic or tropical. This is most likely because of strong presence of peony.

Used to wear it in university time. Like it but not very outstandingly like it.

This smells just like Pleasures, mixed with some light tropical fruit. It’s not unlikable in anyway, but it isn’t really special either. Maybe the concept is off. Mr. Turin in “The Bible” describes Pleasures as a Snowy Floral, which I totally agree with. So exotic tropical fruit and snow? Not really a match made in heaven.

Was at a big imported fragrance/makeup sale in early Dec (I live in NZ) & “Pleasures Exotic” caught my attention! I’d never seen it before – I already own “Pleasures” , so was excited to try its “sister”.
The nozzle wasn’t working properly on the tester (grrr!), so I didn’t get a REALLY decent smell, but from what I did get on my skin, it smelt lovely.. Very fresh, citrusy & uplifting! Didn’t actually whiff much floral in the perfume, which surprised me as I find “Pleasures” to be quite floral based on my skin! S’pose that’s a good thing they don’t smell too similar, though :).
Unfortunately I didn’t buy Exotic on the spot as I should’ve & now I can’t find it in any of our ordinary department stores :(. Am determined to come across it again.. Good things take time, after all!

Lovely, a light fruity floral scent. Feminine without being too twee.

This is a pleasant beachy perfume. Even though pineapple is not shown as a note, I always smell pineapple in the topnotes- probably a combo of the litchi and apricot. Dries down to a warm fruity flowery scent that lingers.
Would recommend for a young woman on a tropical vacation. It does remind one of tropical plants and mojitos!

I bought this online and it had been a few years since I’d smelt it. At first sniff I’m instantly reminded of the original Pleasures or even Beautiful. Grapefruit, lemon/lemongrass, orange blossom, peony, sharp fruit (but it’s not harsh or nasty), and a musk undertone. I really like it. It’s tropical without being tacky. It’s great and lasts for a few hours.

  18. :

This is one tropical mess. I can smell nothing else but fruits.
I wouldn’t say it smells bad, but wearing it I imagine one will smell like they just bathed in some multi-fruit juice. You know the kind, it smells exactly like those juices. I guess that may be enjoyable to some people, not to me personally. For that reason I think the perfume is really nothing special.

  19. :

Truth be told, I do not know why someone would wear this. I smelled it in the bottle and it was awful, like burnt sweet chalky oil. Then i sprayed it, and it smelled like burnt sweet chalky oil. I could not detect any tropical notes, nor fruit. It was a scrubber all the way.

  20. :

Light, but intensive enough fruity floral exotic fragrance!
The most noticeable notes in this fragrance are the grapefruit note, the mango note and something like the hibiscus tea note, because the hibiscus flower doesn’t smell.
The fruity notes in this fragrance smells fresh and mixed with the hibiscus flower note the fragrance smells sour enough.
The lasting power is very good.
I like this fragrance. It’s cool for summer days. Only sometimes it seems a little bit intensively annoying despite it’s light in general.

  21. :

Tropical, but not overly fruity, lily-of-the-valley is also strong. Usually I don’t like lily-of-the-valley so much, but in this combination it is lovely. This is like early morning in late spring or summer, so light, fresh and yet fruity.
A perfect scent for summertime, also in a very warm climate, I think.
This is something not everyone wears, so I was happy to find it, thanks to the recommendations here. 🙂

Not bad, not bad. Not great either. I love how one of the notes listed is “tropical fruits” because that’s exactly what it smells like. No particular fruit, just tropical ones. The fragrance is surprisingly light and refreshing, not nauseatingly sweet by any means, but I personally find the whole thing a bit too synthetic and indistinctive.

I bought it long time ago, thinking that If I loved the original pleasures, sure I would love this one. But It didnt work with my chemesty, It change into a sour kind of smell on my skin. I had to give it away.

Very very tropical and sweet. I really don´t like this kind of scents but I like very much this perfume, it was a gift but I will think twice about buying it again.

  25. :

I purchased 100ml bottle in blind and although it is not what I expected, I still rate it highly.
First of all, the olfactive group classification is deceiving. So is notes decription.
There is nothing mouthwatering or tropical about Pleasures Exotic. Neither is there any sweetness.
The fragrance feels floral green and the only notes that are detectable to my nose are grapefruit, litchi, green notes and musk.
And these certainly do not make it feel fruity.
Pleasures Exotic is really tangy, zesty, cripsy fresh.
I wish mnago was more pronounced as the note gives a mellow and tropical feel to fragrances and Pleasures Exotic was supposed to feel like this and unfortunately, it did not deliver.
On one hand, fruity sweet/tropical fragrance lovers will be disappointed. But those who appreciate crispiness of floral greens will fall head over heels with Pleasures Exotic.
Good fragrance with pleasant projection….but where is my favourite mango….? Oh, where?????
    8/10

  26. :

    5 out of 5

This is all tangy, juicy tropical fruits and citruses for me. It has a crisp, green quality and a hint of woodiness and musk in the base. The combo of tart citrus, crisp greenery, and clean woods reminds me a little of D&G Light Blue. This would make a very nice summer fragrance. It’s not actually that sweet at all on my skin – it leans much more towards the fresh, crisp side for a fruity fragrance. I don’t see much relation to Escada scents such as Taj Sunset (although they both share prominent mango and citrus). I find Escada’s mango offering to be unbearably sweet rather than fresh. With it’s tangy greenness (courtesy of the cassis and lemon), Pleasures Exotic avoids this sweetness overload that make many fruity fragrances unwearable for me.
I don’t find Pleasures Exotic so unique that I want to rush out and get a bottle right now, but I wouldn’t mind making this a replacement for my bottle of Light Blue one day. The staying power of Pleasures Exotic does seem to be better than the former. And as someone who has a hard time finding many fruity scents that wow me, I think this is quite good.

I absolutely adore this perfume. I can’t stop sniffing my wrist when I wear it haha. A beautiful fruity but slightly sensual scent that gets me numerous compliments, from both men and women

Love this fragrance. Lasts all day on me, and even when I can’t smell it anymore others around me still can. Pleasures exotic smells delish! And far more better than the original pleasure which is 2 strong on the flower note.

Today I’m testing E.L Pleasures exotic. Very fresh and clean, reminds me a little bit of C.K Eternity Moment. Same fresh scent. Nice flowers, just a hint of fruit and a hint of Sandalwood. Not overwhelming sweet and thats good. Very female and sensual. A great every-day-scent to wear at office or at home. Its not a loud scent but its there around you for many hours.

I agree with wildivy: it is celery in a bottle! Very weird and unexpected, seeing as how I expected mangoes and other exotic fruits.
Very disappointed with this scent. It is the only one out of the ‘Pleasures’ family that I cannot appreciate.

I had such high hopes for this one by all the good reviews! I couldn’t wait to smell this and as I did all I smelled was Celery, I couldn’t believe it… I even asked my hubby to smell it and he said the same thing!! So disappointed!

I love this fragrance! Smells so sweet and fruity that it just lifts your mood.
On the downside, the Staying Power on me was rubbish! Could barely last an hour! I’d wear it like to go on a date, and by the time I got to the restaurant, it was gone! 🙁

I might have liked this perfume if I had not already had “Armani Code Summer 2011”; the two perfumes are similar, but the Armani is far stronger on the grapefruit, if you like that, as I do. I agree that the Lauder is more of a tropical, but there also it is beaten, this time by its own stable- mate, Lauder “Beyond Paradise”. All in all, there is not a whole lot to recommend this perfume. The original “Pleasures” is a distinctive and memorable perfume, but this fruity bland flanker is nothing special. AND it fades after about 20 minutes on my skin.

NOTE: this is NOT my review, but a translation of the one below it
    ——————————————–
From beginning to end, smells like pure mango. It’s okay if you’re young and like fun fragrances, me i like fruity fragrances, but this has nothing to do with the original. Coincidence that it seems like an Escada perfume, floral-fruity for daily use. I don’t recommend it for a woman over 35 because it doesn’t go with that spirit, it’s much better for girls 25 and under.
    ——————————————–

I bought this perfume after testing so many perfumes at the same time, so I didnt know what I was smelling anymore,
and I think pleasures exotic is a disaster I didnt like it at all I tried my best to like it but I didnt succeed it smells like rotten flowers, othing sexy or attractive but It has a strong staying power and very noticeable it doesnt smell like many other perfumes but not for me I gave it eventually to my mother and she didnt like it either .

  42. :

    3 out of 5

This is really similar to the original Pleasures on me. The opening seems to contain more citrus and the fruit doesn’t appear for a few minutes- but these are very subtle to me. That said it is a well done flanker and if you like Pleasures but want something slightly different this should do the trick.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

If you like peach, you’ll love this fragrance. But not for me because I dislike peach. I could smell only peach and a little fruit notes, no flowers at all. The dry dry down is quite strange on my skin and it doesn’t last long. Very disappointed.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

My mother bought this perfume for me and I adore it. It has an old world scent, something mystifying and indiscernible. It is fresh and light, elegant and my first for a lady’s signature scent. I have not come across any other perfume that smells like it as yet. Very clean.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

A lovely fragrance – this perfume has a bit more depth than the original Pleasures – which is nice, but a bit plain and two-dimensional.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I wanted some ‘yellow’ scent when I bought this, but I couldn’t use half of the bottle. This is like having some needles standing out of your aura. SHARP, stinging you and others.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

Not one of my all time favorites at all. The opening screams fruit then it goes away into the pleasures scent that it was initially created. This is just not my cup of tea at all.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

Tropical. That’s one way to describe Pleasures Exotic. Sharp, acidic and synthetic, are three others.
I was not surprised when I saw grapefruit listed as a note, (I’m not a fan of it). Pleasures Exotic smells too much like a fruity beverage, very juicy and rich, yet not something I particularly want to wear.
This fragrance has a very strange edge to it. The fruity opening is far too strong and sharp, and the hibiscus, peony, cassia and litchi far too prominent. I sense a shampoo/soapy aspect which doesn’t blend too well with the dominant fruits. One minute it’s fresh like just stepping out of the shower, the next minute I’m on a beach with tropical juice spilt all down my front.
A majority of the time, Pleasures Exotic makes me nauseous. I don’t know what it is, but this fragrance really isn’t for me.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

I love all the perfumes in the Pleasures line…but these perfumes have no lasting power on me…not sure if they are cheaply made with fake ingredients or what. So I just stopped buying them.

  50. :

    4 out of 5

The first moments after I sprayed the perfume I felt confused — is it really a fruity floral? I smell some fresh green stuff and some sour citrus — lemon or even grapefruit with some wood. Then the smell develops into something very fruity with just the right sweetness that you can go either way — day or night. And then on my wrist (not on my hair) it smells wonderfully warm, like some combination of a big sweet fruit (mango?) and some wood, I couldn’t think of what kind. I guess I can go for sandalwood+musk listed here. This last smell was incredibly pleasant. It felt perfectly like Fall for me.
now, the question is, will I miss this smell when my mini bottle is over? At first, I thought I won’t, but now I’m not so sure.

  51. :

adore the scent so much! i find it sexy, fresh, feminine and elegant to wear 😀 anyway i cant really smell the fruity scent in it, but the notes are blended well hence it smells so outstanding compare to other perfumes 😀

  52. :

    5 out of 5

This is one of my favorite scents. When I want to feel feminine and pretty I wear this, when I want to feel sexy I wear this as a base and add something spicy. This and Fancy by Jessica Simpson smells so great together. That is my sexy scent 🙂

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Every time I put this on, I think “why don’t I wear this more often?” It is such a lovely light scent that just screams ‘summer vacation’ to me. I’m going to Mexico in a few days and this one is going with me for sure. It is my favorite in the Pleasures line.

  54. :

    3 out of 5

I usualy love ‘tropical’ fragrances with exotic fruits, but this one is too harsh. It smells more like soap with spices (Cassia the leaf is very prominent and natural smelling in this one) there also is lots of mango and fruity notes. Not my thing, but I like the Cassia leaf- I detected it immediately after spraying it on my wrist without knowing the notes. I can’t feel peony but there definitely is lily of the valley on me. Staying power and projection is awesome- despise the rain this perfume from my wrist smelled so tempting that now I’m hungry.

  55. :

    It smells like Hawaii…The best!

  56. :

    5 out of 5

well this one is a very special one. it is sweet, light, floral, exquisite. i find it somehow elegant and for decided women. if you look for a sweet sour summer scent like those from escada you are not quite wright with this one. it’s a different kind of flower fruity with more flower than fruit and the fruit is sweet and ripe, sugary. i love it cause it’s so unusual and delicious. i wear it on summer nights, in spring and early autumn.

  57. :

    4 out of 5

This is quite a departure from the usual fruity floral fare. It’s tropical, but not weirdly sweet or artificial. Even though I don’t care too much for exotic fruits or fragrances, I found it refreshing and elegant.

  58. :

    5 out of 5

Really nice fragrance, but it is not that unique. Lots of other perfumes have similar scents. I do like this one out of all the other pleasures. This one is still not part of my collection, but maybe some day. I opted for white linen light breeze instead.

  59. :

    4 out of 5

I rarely buy department store fragrances because so many of them smell the same to me, but THIS… I couldn’t leave this behind after sampling. Pleasures Exotic is a LOVELY tropical floral. I am a huge fan of mangoes and lychee, which I used to eat alot in the summers, so this scent smelled very familiar and yummy to me in the beginning, and then the floral aspect makes it a little more grown-up, as opposed to being too fruity and juvenile. The dry-down is very much like the essence of “just after a shampoo”. I kept catching whiffs of my hair and wondering what smelled a bit like white musk (clean, soft, sensual) and realized it was the dry-down of this perfume after I had sprayed my hair a few hours earlier.

  60. :

    4 out of 5

My daughter brought this home and although it is a bright, cheery and lovely scent, it smells better on my daughter. I guess I tend to gravitate toward the darker, more mysterious scents…..the orientals are more for me.

  61. :

    3 out of 5

My first association with it were palms, warm sand, drinks with parasols and deep blue sea. The opening is like a sweet wave coming over. The first accents are grapefruit and mango, but I can definitely smell pinapple and kiwi as well.
What comes next is no longer so interesting, the drydown is a bit disappointing, but as a whole it is a nice, vibrant, energetic fragrance. It looks ideal for summer, but I am sure it could also brighten up cold, dark winter days.

  62. :

This perfume is soooo nice. It reminds me of a a really fresh and sweet fruit salad you eat on a beach when your on vacation in a foreign tropical island. Very good for hot summer days when you want to smell nice, but not too heavy. its a very light perfume, yet it has a very unique smell. I love it. ill sure buy it When the days will become warmer.

Brilliant for summer, this sun-drenched (yet soft) fruity scent is full of pineapple and mango. Only trouble is, it doesn’t last long which makes me question value for money. Instead of paying £28 for a 30ml size, I purchased a similar scent from a well-known high end chain store at just £5!

  69. :

I ADORE this light spring fragrance. Its fruity citrus notes are not aggressive or anything- just like fresh linen. Also, it lasts very long on my pillow where I put it.
