Raven – :
This review is for the Pine Gems Essence version, made in Italy.
This is currently being stealth marketed as regular Pino Silvestre – you have to look at the labels carefully to spot whether or not it’s the pine gems version (I have a feeling it’s only made in Italy by Mavive). It’s basically a smoother, more mellow variation of the original. Instead of smelling like an aggressive, “hard” pine, this is much softer, more natural, with notes of pine and coumarinic honey comprising the whole affair, at a whisper pitch.
Despite its politeness, the agile interplay between lavender, basil, mint, thyme, rosemary, honey, coumarin, and cedar projects in an “aura” sort of way, creating a pleasant woody glow around its wearer. Still a magnificent pine scent, with the herbal reconstruction of that note still smelling incredibly natural and lucid. Pino Silvestre Pine Gems Essence is one of those insanely rare fragrances, where you get Creed quality at a drugstore price. I’ll never know how it’s done, but I’m glad it’s still on the market. This is a terrific fragrance that every fougere lover should try.
