I wanted to like this but I find it dull and boring. I get mostly woods, powder and quiet benzoin.

Amazing sweet long lasting powerful cologne. I received it as a gift for Christmas and have never got more complements from any other cologne.

This one doesn’t have a monster sugar note, but it does smell quite similar to the original after a few hours (I’ve only tried vintage Pi). However, I think it should be named something else; I’d call it Pi Ironwood, since they added that note. It’s not stronger than what’s in my Pi bottle, that’s for sure. I was afraid the ironwood, whatever that is, would impart a metallic quality, but I don’t get that, thankfully, though it does remind me of iron (not wood). I don’t get the leather, but it has a kind of subdued powdery quality to it, which seems to prevent it from being cloying. And when I don’t know if I can’t handle Pi, this one is not an issue, as it’s better balanced. Overall, the only issue I have with it is that there’s no reason to call it Extreme, IMO.

It smells better than the first pi.
    But outside of that.
It isn’t anything to run out and get…trust me.
It’s a nice spring time gourmand fragrance.
You can wear at any time.
    Would I buy this again?…NO!
Would I buy this for others, no…unless this is their signature…then sure.
    WILLING TO SWAP!
I used seven sprays…both wrist, behind my ears, back & front of my neck and chest.

    Sweet woody vanilla.
One of the rare few sweet vanilla fragrances that are suitable for men.
It is not really vanilla but benzoin you are smelling but it’s identical to vanilla. Has Givenchy listed vanilla instead of benzoin nobody would’ve noticed!
    Really good.
I don’t love it but I really really like it.
    Elegant yet calm & cozy.
However, this is a try before you buy as the smell is unique.

I’m a fan of the original, although I don’t wear it too often because I think it’s a little too sweet to wear at times. I had high hopes for this because I thought that the added notes would balance out the richness of the vanilla/benzoin in the original.
The general complaint abut flankers is that they’re totally different from the original scent, however, I think that the opposite is true here. The DNA is so strong that you could get the same effect by spraying a lot of Pi onto a little of a leather/wood scent.
If you really like the Pi DNA, then this is definitely a scent to look into, otherwise, it isn’t really necessary to have both in my opinion.

Another extreme that isn’t extreme, what a shame
Not that there’s anything wrong with it, beautiful fragrance but I was expecting to be blown away. If you don’t go in expecting extreme (as the original was extreme enough) then you won’t be disappointed

Tried this again today at Macy’s. My third testing.
And…..WOW !!!! I have to get a bottle of this ASAP.
Compared it to the original Pi, and do see they are similar for sure….but the Extreme has something else coming out of the background that makes it more interesting to me. A solid 8.5/10. Smoky/vanilla..but not sweet at all to my nose. And yes, sillage could be a little better…IMHO. But, hey, still a big love !!

It very sweet with very little leather or spices coming through. Not the longest lasting scent, but you can get a couple hours of wear and a couple more on the skin. I definitely wear it but it isn’t one my favorites.

It smells very similar to the original pi except with the vanilla toned down a bit. I would recommend the original over this because it lasts a bit longer and they they just arent that different.

Syrupy sugar with a slight hint of leather. Some spices as middle notes as well. Very gourmand like.
If You like that opt in. I opt out!

I recommend it…it’s wonderful, not just for men either :o)

Wow, the top notes on this one have a kick! It soon settles down, however, in a mellow woody, gourmandy scent that smells a bit chemical and synthetic, but still, not bad at all. I like this stuff.
I’m pretty sure I like it better than original Pi.
    Longevity isn’t bad.

Flanker of the original, yes, but quite different in my opinion. Less sweet it is much more woodier, add a very delicate, but persistant leathery note. Apparently mandarin is also part of the mix (from the Givenchy rep).
The original was all about vanilla, but it would be more precise to say vanillin. If you ever smelled the difference between a real vanilla pod and vanillin synthesis you’ll see that the real thing is actually not that sweet, medicinal, a little dry and a little boozy and vanillin is all about sweetness and kind of unidimensional. Pi Extrême is a little boozy, reminiscent of rhum and the sweetness seems to come more from resin & woods. Woody notes apparently include ironwood (ostrya), Guaiac oil, which brings a bit of sweetness & creaminess.
Far from being a gourmand, Pi Extrême, to me, is a woody, balsamic oriental. I never really liked the original mostly because of the sweetness and lacking the medicinal and boozy characteristics of real vanilla. With the cold autumn days Pi Extrême is… warmth!
To me, this flanker surpass the original.
    Longevity 6-8hrs, sillage is moderate.

Very similar to the original Pi.
Sometimes we complain about a flanker being very different from the original fragrance and we would like to have just a stronger version of the original.
Well, in terms of the scent Pi Extreme succeeds in this, for better or for worse. I personally would rather prefer it to be more of a fragrance on it’s own, meaning have it’s own personality.
Few minor differences between the two perfumes are being that the new (Extreme) is a bit denser and more resinous, which I like. In terms of the performance, it sits closer to the skin (still noticeable), but the longevity is good, around 8-10 hours.
I like both Pi and Pi Extreme. Actually I should say, I like Pi Extreme, because I like Pi, since they are very similar.
If you don’t have Pi Extreme in your local stores, I don’t think you have to chase it down on the Internet, since you can buy Pi (the original) practically everywhere in the world and be the same happy person 🙂
Pi Extreme – 8/10 – good, not stellar.

If your thinking this is stronger than the original, its not.
The current formulations of Pi are terrible as it is, Pi Extreme takes it that extra mile.
So what does it smell like ? When you iron your shirt with a steam press and that sort of metallic scent hits your nose, well thats it in a nutshell but in a more watery form and some added sweetness.
1/10 (1 for the nice bottle)

Promissing! Even though as I can see, there is no the old PI inside in a stronger version well, let’s see!

Are these really all the notes??? Anyway I gave it a testing recently. Personally I thought it smelled pretty decent as it dries down more…. For what its worth asked a few girls and they didnt seem to like it though, but they smelled mostly just the first few hours…
Anyway it does smell some what similar to the original, however there a definite leather kick to it, that adds a darkness and thickness to it.. As it dries down I get a plastic/rubber sweetness the same kinda vibe that say something like givenchy play intense gives me(which is why im surprised if these are the only notes), and then in the very dry down as the scent becomes a skin scent period I get a sorta dark almost chocolate sorta sweetness…
Anyway im not super horny about leather myself, it is what it is, but as it dries down it gets better for me. Ill have to try it again maybe in some colder weather.

Looks promising, especially that PI was one of the revolutionary perfumes when it came out.
One of the similarities between Givenchy and Guerlain (no comparison between the 2 of course) is that both houses suck at creating the modern hype of scents, they remain good at making classic smelling scents, Givenchy’s last editions were very bad, also Guerlain’s latest “Ideal” wasn’t a big hit, as they were trying to offer the consumer wanted scents. This scents seems like going back to basics.
    Really eager to try this.

It’s very sweet but the bright citrus notes are gone it’s very deep and rich reminds me of Indescent Organza. I did get a bottle will be nice for fall.

can’t wait to try this – always was hoping they would keep investing in the iconic and legendary Pi

I want it right now! 🙂
I bet that it builds up from more than just 3 notes however. A golden bottle would suit it more but still, I’m happy for this release!
