Has a patchouli note to it; there’s also a fruity quality but is full of musk, sandalwood, light florals and a tiny amount of vanilla

Had a mini of this in junior high (2002-2003), now I have a mini of it again. As people have pointed out, it indeed came out years before 2007. The mini I currently have in my possession has not been used and smells exactly like back in the day.
I could never put my finger on this one when I would smell it, it definitely has somewhat of a similar backbone as YR Ode a l’amour but it’s… how can I even describe it. I suppose it’s musky in a clean musk way, definitely vanillic, but also somewhat fresh airy and very calming with a hint of incense for depth. I would not classify this as an oriental. It’s not spicy, doesn’t tickle your nose at all, it’s tranquil, slightly sweet and watery. Very inspiring, very unique.

First of all; Ode au reve was not launched in 2007, but either in 2001 or 2002. That said, I must admit that it is a true timeless classic. I first started to use it in 2002 when I got it as a present from my mother. Initially it wasn’t love at first sight, so I used it for work. But then it just became a very comforting companion who cared for me, and enveloped me into its’ warm embrace. It also drew a lot of compliments. So I bought another bottle when the first one was used up, and it became my signature for couple of years. Such a shame it is discontinued. Luckily I have managed to buy a sealed 50ml eau de toilette at good price from an ebay-like site, but since I don’t know if I will be that lucky again, I’m only using it for special days.
I would describe it as a warm and complex oriental, that in the same time is not offensive at all. Don’t let the blue colour fool you, cause there’s nothing airy or aquatic there.
This perfume would in my opinion be best worn with an exclusive cashmere sweater or a silk pashmina. It would work perfectly at a romantic candle lit dinner too.
Buy it if you are lucky to find it!

    This is amazing!!very well rounded,sensual,lovely!!
Don’t let it’s color fool you, there is nothing aquatic here,it’s oriental woody or oriental vanilla, warm and rich..I can smell more than listed here but for sure sandalwood is the most prominent note here with just a hint of florals, incense, musk and vanilla..I can even feel a fruity and a nutty undertone,Tankgirl, you hit the point by nameing amaretto..it’s soft, spicy, powdery and sexy and I like how easy to take in hand this little blue bottle is
    ❤❤❤

Ode au Reve Yves Rocher was one of the first perfumes I was using. The first bottle I bought myself and the second I got as a present. To put it into perspective, I was wearing Ode au Reve when I was sixteen and loved it. I was wearing Ode au Reve when I was twenty seven and liked it. This scent does not offend anyone age regardless. It is a warm, mystic scent. A real shame is that it does not last very long but for that price, what to expect?

I have this little tester with a paper drenched in the perfume, waiting for me to test it for ages… And this morning I finally did. The first thing I thought: soft and spicy. Later I thought (please don’t be mad for me saying this): “cheap” smelling. Then I thought about Kenzo Elephant (which is not cheap, but does smell like that as well to me). Ultimately I made the conclusion of vanilla and incense. I can imagine some people can really enjoy this, but it is just nothing for me. It’s just this soapy feel combined with vanilla and spices which make me instantly think of drugstores. May be worth a try if you’re looking for something smelling according to my description, but don’t make the same association 🙂

Slightly oriental smelling. On the dry down you can really smell the vanilla and musk. A smooth creamy yet powdery scent too.Really lasts a long time, very mellow as it wears off. As hame they never made is with a spray instead of a dab on.

It smells sooo beautiful on my skin. Lots of soft sandalwood, then salty incense and jasmine adding some powderness. Mysterious and comforting at the same time. Sadly I am allergic to some of the ingredients – my eyes turn red and watery when I wear it.
The combination of sandalwood, hint of vanilla and powdery jasmine reminds me my favorite perfume Herve Leger Paris. Herve leger has much more character thou.

Yesterday while visiting my Yves Rocher Shop I learned that Ode au rêve was made to go to bed with in order to get sweet dreams ! So true ! Before I had tried to wear it during the day but it didn’t work. While yesterday evening quietly lying down the scent develop much better it was just a wonderful experience which I can’t wait to renew.

I was lucky enough to get this discontinued gem at a very good price. It starts off intense and complex, with a fresh burst of floral and woody notes. Then it settles to a creamy, smoky, melancholic and introspective scent that sits close to the skin. It is definitely a winter scent and I can easily see it worn by men as well.
I find it strikingly similar to With Love by Hilary Duff. The difference lies in that With Love is sweeter (as it has some fruity notes), has better silage and longevity, but overall it has the same creamy, woody quality.

I got a purse spray of this is a swap and I must say this is wonderfull. It is incredibly similar to Gloria by Cacharel wich is a favourite to me. There is a lot of sandalwood but it has to have some kind of liquour in it too, it smells a lot like amareto, like Gloria does. The top notes are glorious and they stay for a long long time, but unfortunatly after the top notes the scent disapears in my skin, it lasted probably 4 hours. But I must tell you that were 4 hours of beauty!
Smoky, woody, sweet…uau this is a really good perfume. I love it!
Bring this beauty gain Yves Rocher!
Sillage: Good for half an hour.
    Longevity: +/-, 4 hours has I said
    9.5/10

ooohh….I love this. I won a bottle on Ebay, it seems to be rare. I purchased because I am a huge fan of Sandalwood. It does open very strong, definitely LOTS of Sandalwood. A very unique scent, the strength of scent settles, however, it doesn’t change much. Sandalwood and Jasmin are most present. Musk is next, then incense and vanilla. Very unique, that’s really all I can say…and earthy.
Update: This perfume is strong and so different that it can keep you wondering what you really think of it. All I can say is as it settles into skin it is beautiful and I can’t stop smelling….yummee!!

This was too fresh and harsh for me. I found it very masculine.

This I have discovered again. I bought a mini on E-bay a year ago but it was left unused on the shelf. I found that the sandalwood was too dominant. I tested it again recently and it is as if the smell comes out much better now. Even the vanilla and incense that was not so noticeable earlier is apparent now on my skin. It is a very nice perfume that I will use this spring.

I had this fragrance for the first time for my prom night and I love it since then. Here in Bulgaria, Yves Rocher is available in the stores.

Guess what: I’ve stocked up this one really bad (the bath gel, two body lotions, EDT, EDP, elixir de parfum, and just want the solid perfume now),ALL BASED IN THE BOTTLE!!! Yea, that´s right! I was looking for a “perfect perfume” at the time, one that would be delicious without being overpowering, and would have real not plasticy smell without being too mature. So a friend of mine from college was selling Yves Rocher (here in Portugal, catalogue sales only)and I picked what seemed to me to be the most ballanced of the Odes. And the choice was made, I repeat BASED IN THE BOTTLE! I wasn´t let down. I used the perfumed lotion on a trip to Brazil -hot/wet weather- and it was enough to make me smell great. Must agree, though, that sillage could be better…

Action, you are an INSANELY GENEROUS NUTTER and I love you for that.
I will sleep in an evening dress while wearing this scent.
So, anyone out there who does not know this one:
A dreamy, goodnight scent for a real princess.
A princess that lives in a castle in the woods, the only season in those woods is autumn with heavy fog – use your imagination and you know what it smells like.

    Tschiepchen….
All good things come to those that are patient and generous…
I think you fit the bill PERFECTLY!!
SO I think it is coming real soon…somewhere this week even!!
    🙂

Yesterday I have been through my empty bottles and found a mini of Ode au Reve.
I opened the lid and smelled it and it was sooo lovely…
Concerning the top notes of this perfume I am with Jillzilla.
I, too, can smell something fruity (not sweet!), maybe blackcurrant, but my guess would have been a bit of blackberry and maybe a bit of waterlily or even lotus before I got any sandalwood.
The sandalwood is the most prominent note and I only got a bit of jasmine and incense.
Still, the jasmine and incense make a wonderful contribution to this fragrance and the vanilla rounds it perfectly.
The liquid is blue but the perfume is not blue at all.
The name is well chosen, I need to say, as I can perfectly picture Ode au Reve being a princess’s bedtime fragrance.
I regret that I never bought a full size bottle.
YR discontinued it before I had the chance to snap this little treasure up.
Maybe, one day, I’ll find one.
    Wish me luck! 😉

Since I like woody scents, incense and musk I thought I will adore it.
But something is missing, it is to simple with masculine character… but anyway I like it.

i like this fragance, i really do, sadly the sillage is poor, it last very little on my skin and the design of the bottle is so poor.

Notes on the missing green bottle Ode La Vie:
A green floral fragrance with notes of bamboo, cyclamen, galbanum, violet leaf, Virginia cedar, sandalwood and musk.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

In the top notes, I thought I briefly got something tart and fruity (remniscent of black currant). After a few minutes, the fragrance settled into a vanilla incense musk, and it’s not until the base notes arrive that I get any sandalwood, which actually becomes quite prominant on me. In the end, it is a light vanilla-sandalwood combo, which is pleasant enough, but not something I would reach for due to personal tastes.
That being said, the progression of notes was interesting, even though there are only a few notes listed. I would say this is definitely for sandalwood lovers.

What a beautiful sandalwood fragrance! I love that its opening notes are mostly sandalwood instead of in the drydown, which is where you usually have it.
Sometimes I find sandalwood too dry, but this has the perfect mixture of jasmine, vanilla, and musk in its base to keep it balanced. To me, this is a sexy fragrance, yet still mature and well-rounded. For a unique, elegant lady who is non-traditional in her femininity.
    I love it! 🙂

this one is a little bit oriental and has a vanilla and musk drydown.

It’s a warm and calm oriental, with a light vanilla drydown and very comforting, I think it’s ideal for winter.
