Description

Noble Cedar is made to be a distinguished and refined fragrance for lovers of luxury, which exudes modern and urban elegance just as the previous edition does.

This woody and slightly spicy composition is created by perfumers Lucas Sieuzac and Nathalie Feisthauer, who focused on a unique cedar agreement. The top bursts with fresh tones of silver birch leaf, followed by the heart made of aromatic sage. Cedar wood combined with warm labdanum resin form the sensual base of this perfume.

The bottle design is signed by Suzanne Dalton. Chopard Noble Cedar is available as Eau de Toilette in quantities of 30, 50 and 80 ml.
Noble Cedar was launched in 2011.

This is a noble fragrance as it is named, very nice in the summer but could be worn is colder months as well, I love the Cedar note very smooth but present and nicely blended. I think Chopard has a very classy line of colognes, the Maliki ones are my favorites.

I don´t get any vetiver from this scent (fortunately), I love vetiver but don´t wish to find it in a scent named “Cedar” 8/10

I have both noble cedar & noble vetiver and they are good but this one is really a masterpiece. i read reviews here before i bought it and realize many people believe there is vetiver in noble cedar.when i smell it for the first time i found it so close to geurlain vetiver extreme.so i think this true that noble cedar contains vrtiver!

I think they put the wrong label on the perfume vat. This is very vetiver. Sweetened up with labdanum and some herbs and spices. Extremely unisex, because it is a sweet woody thing. I think the cedar notes probably don’t come out to play until a few hours into drydown, because I washed my arm in the bath earlier with test spray on it and it smelled more cedar-ish afterwards. Re-applied post bath and whoa nellie, there is the vetiver in full force again. Lovely scent, pleased with my blind buy, but this is definitely more vetiver than cedar.

I love cedar, and thought with the name Noble Cedar that it would be a strong note. Unfortunately I never smelled cedar, but mostly vetiver and a light sweet woody accord. Nice, but no cedar.

This smells classy and natural, no synthetic notes that I can detect. Not extremely classy but classy to the point that is questionable to wear it totally casual(jeans, sport shoes or sport shirt…), but with something just a little more nicer you can easy wear it. I agree with @jacek that it’s not an “old man’s” perfume, and it does not smells in a classic way, this is done in a modern way.
To me this is the cedar made in smooth creamy way, not sharp. It is just slightly sweet to add some warm spirit. Nice, pleasant, likable. No feminine floral notes. Not too smoky, never gets cloying, not dirty smell (like some vetivers). Approachable and warm enough for romantic events.
    Longevity: Between moderate and long.
    Sillage: Slightly above moderate.

The bottle is absolutely fantastic, it exudes class, here metal is metal with plastic only on the inside, but… we don’t wear the bottle, do we?
Well, I can’t be objective about this frag. When I was a kid, my father would use a perfume called Cedarwood. From Yves Rocher I think, but may be mistaken. Maybe from Coty or something. Anyway, these brands – cheap in the West – in communist Poland were synonymous to absolute luxury. And so the cedar smell became in my ten-or-something-year-old nose and mind THE sophisticated man perfume…
Chopard is much more complex than that. The cedar note is definite here, maybe even dominant at times, but it is in good company. As said above, I can’t be objective, but the frag is definitely very, very good. Has good sillage and has brought me some compliments from ladies that don’t usually comment on how someone smells, as well as from strangers. I also asked some female friends (and my Mum as well) for an honest opinion on this and they all said it was great.
I use it for colder seasons and some evenings – but not family meetings, as I gave a bottle to my Dad for his birthday and I don’t want to smell the same. 🙂 But don’t be afraid. It’s not an “old man’s” perfume. Get it, while it’s cheap. You can easily have it at 30$ or less, it’s a bargain!

A great bottle which looks and feels real… noble! The content however could not convince me. Extremely sharp and aggressive on the nose, smells very old and I couldn’t find anything pleasant in it. Neither on paper nor skin. I enjoy cedar smell and pure cedar oil, but can’t find any of those in Noble Cedar. A foolish blind buy, the search goes on…

Well this just smells like a fresh greeny everyday scent nothing more nothing else . it could have been so much better if it had been an edp .

Go to Guerlain counter and have a sniff at the Vetiver or the Vetiver Extreme. Very similar except the price. I think this smells a lot like Vetiver, why would it be a Cedar?

I blind bought this only becasue reviewers said it was a lot like AdP Cipresso di Toscana (one of my all time favourites and sadly discontinued), so I had high expectations.
I can smell a resemblance to AdPCdT, but for me it’s no way near that rush of happiness the latter gives me.
Apart from that, it’s very nice smelling, clean and masculine. The bottle is nice and chunky and there’s a real high quality feel to the metal cap. Very good.
And also I paid €20 for it, so inspite of it not smelling like I hoped, I’m happy.

A nice fragrance. Very strong, sharp opening to this fragrance, probably the silver birch leaf. This makes the aroma slightly unusual on first spray. An affordable woody with versatility. Decent fragrance that is found cheaply.

I blind bought this and received it yesterday. Well, it wasn’t exactly what I had expected.
The opening is intense and reminds me of resin. Fresh resin, but still too strong.
There is definitely vetiver in this.
The scent reminds me of an old wooden cabin.
It is woody but not fresh wood. That’s why you might not like it.
Good projection and poor to moderate longevity on my skin.
I believe it was designed to be like this and it is a unique scent. Nevertheless, I think there is nothing noble in this Noble Cedar.
    Try before you buy.

Excellent proposal. Opens Strong, very green, but reassures in a fragrance elegant, classic and perfect for use with a suit and tie. For me, much like the ADP Cipresso di Toscana. Great buy!

I was going through Marshall’s today and I noticed Noble Cedar. I knew the name Chopard, but I wasn’t sure of the aroma for Noble Cedar. I figured that it would have a definite cedar aroma to it !! I decided to make a blind purchase and I have to agree with everyone that without a doubt there is Vetiver in this fragrance.. it’s so predominant 100% sure it is!!!
After it settled I found it being slightly floral at first with a definite woodsy/spicy bit to it. I’m not able to detect the birch note but I can certainly smell sage, labdanum resin and cedar.
This frag to me has a very sharp/smokey aroma that carries well through the day and I have to say that it makes for a surprising, interesting frag for the evening !!
I say this because there are several fragrances that have similar notes which are well recognized brands and cost far more. To me thats a compliment to Chopard.
longevity is excellent, well past 8hrs
Sillage, you can easily pick up this frag well after you’ve passed someone yet it isn’t heavy.
    Overall thoughts,
At first, I thought it wasn’t worth it. After a while and it had settled that’s when I was able to pick up the warm spicy/woodsy qualities with a very manly aroma to it.
I find that it does last for awhile and that is a good sign of a good frag instead of a frag that fades after a couple of hours.
For sure this is a fall/winter and early spring frag, I wore it today and several women gave me complimented me so who’s to say you can’t wear it during the summer.
Even the bottle takes on a very interesting chiseIed design which gives this frag an appearance of high quality.
I give this frag two thumbs up in my book…10/10 EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!

i smell quite a lot of ‘vetiverishness’…and after half an hour i think it resembles Encre Noire…to me it’s a bad Encre Noire Light…and i’m not so into EN for starters…
Day 2 : it gets synthetical very quickly after the top notes – i don’t like it at all (apologies to all EN lovers no more similarities with this one after 30 minutes ;o) )
Bummer…the bottle is a zillion times nicer than the juice…try before you buy….

Chopard’s Noble Cedar is a classy, gentle breeze of cedar with a hint of vetiver. A beautiful bottle, complete with a cap that seems inspired by the classic Rolex stainless watchband. Altogether this seems to be a real winner, but both sillage and longevity were woefully inadequate. Even with a generous application I was unable to smell any hint of this an hour later.
I would categorize this as a unisex fragrance: women who would typically avoid employing a woodsy fragrance could be comfortable with Noble Cedar.
Personally I prefer a more old-school power-fragrance, and if I am feeling like a bargain-priced cedar-focused cologne then Quorum Silver has the longevity and sillage that Noble Cedar lacks.

For the first 20 seconds this smells EXACTLY like Guerlain Vetiver. Then I get a slightly sweet woody scent. After few hours cedar become more prominent and stays until the end. The longevity is about 8 hours. Safe scent and for 30$ it’s a bargain.

this falls somewhere in between l’artisans piment brulant and terre de hermes, more red pepper than cedar, somewhat linear and well blended but not particularly great. gorgeous bottle and great concept but somehow missed the mark in execution. can be had very cheaply online. sillage and concentration seem also more like a cologne, very light

First shoutout to Freddiefingers. I contacted him about this fragrance as I was stuck between blind buying this or vetiver. He responding quickly and I jumped on it. The notes were really interesting and the bottle beautiful.
This is definitely a hidden gem. I actually get a lot of vetiver and a sweet cedar maybe due to the labdanum (ambery). The birch gives it a smokey/leathery feel and the fragrance has a tinge of spiciness to give it some complexity. The funny thing is even with all what I mentioned being involved it is quite transparent in its approach. It is never cloying, or synthetically woody. The notes blend perfectly which produces this great projection off of the skin..while the vetiver and woods, coupled with the labdanum giving it great longevity. No one will smell you a foot away unless you passed them as the sillage seems to be great.
Overall this is a steal at the discounted prices I have seen. I think I am going to pick up Vetiver just because this one went so well. I think this is perfect for a blind buy if you aren’t looking for a fragrance that screams for attention. This is perfect for the office, church, dinner, a movie and would probably be made for those places as I don’t see it being used very casually.

@Frankom…this is called Noble Cedar for a reason. It has more of a woody base and richer, more refined overall feel than Noble Vetiver which well,by name has more vetiver in than in this one.
You are entitled to prefer this to Noble Vetiver but you are wrong in thinking this should be renamed.Original Vetiver has same vibe as Mugler Cologne.both have the same clean, soapy feel that is missing here.not sure what dirty note you are referring to.
Any fragrance that has vetiver in the name should appropriately have that note in abundance to fit the name.Noble Cedar has very little of that note to qualify for that. What you get here is what ronnie1975 rightly put.

    @ronnie1975
You are not alone with this one.it’s one classy fragrance.the notes are so well blended none really shouts out.sillage is moderate and it does last.
Ideal for cold days and evenings and for formal events or dates. But of cos it can do for work.
the best part for me is this is so underrated and that is a bonus.Again,I bought it so cheap.
I do prefer this to Noble Vetiver which really disappointed me and I almost dismissed the Chopard line till I blind bought this and now am in LoVe,Again…!One of the creamiest woody dry-downs I have ever smelled. You do not deserve a sense of smell if you find this offensive-even when abused.Go figure
The notes listed here are incomplete. The full note breakdown are listed below
    Top Notes
    Birch Leaf, Spicy Notes
    Middle Notes
    Clary Sage, Cedar Wood
    Base Notes
    Rock Rose(labdanum), Vetiver, Incense
