Irina Adam is an amazing natural perfumer. Her compositions are all what most would call “linear”, as far as note lists and development; yet that are solid and elegant perfumed snapshots that really SMELL like Nature is unfolding all around you! Any of these scents will transport you and I enjoy wearing them. When you can’t get out into Nature-Phoenix Botanicals brings Nature to you.
Magnolia Grove is actually a trio of perfumes (pure parfums):
Magnolia I is a rosy magnolia
Magnolia II is a magnolia with hints of lemon
Magnolia III is a creamy soft magnolia
They come as one item; yet you get 4.5 ml of pure NATURAL parfums (1.5 ml X 3) for $24 USD (each “jar” is good for up to 12 applications). All are color-coded and numbered on the bottoms and are presented in a darling box with a magnolia tree on it.
I have always said that my skin EATS magnolia for breakfast…or so I thought! These are all magnificent summery southern soliflores, yes. However, they actually LAST on my skin. This lets me know that what designers are calling a “magnolia note” was actually nothing more than some wan chemical concoction meant to make me think I was smelling flowers.
Those perfumes were like looking at a painting and smelling a scent strip while doing so. THESE on the other hand are like holding a magnolia blossom in a bowl of water right in front of you: you can see, smell, touch and almost taste its aroma. (If you “listen” hard enough, you may hear the wind blowing through the flower-laden trees and perceive the giggles of the petals as they ride the wind softly to the earth…)
Here, there is no doubt these are REAL flowers. Projection is average to slightly below, being pure perfume, compared to most scents. Natural perfume is also “amped” by a rise in the skin’s temperature. The longevity is incredible and impressive.

NB: For a true perfume picture of the whole magnolia tree (leaves, blossoms and wood) seek out Exotic Island Perfumes MAGNOLIO VERANO. The most exquisite unisex magnolia composition, natural or otherwise, that I have ever sniffed.
The nose at EXOTIC ISLAND PERFUMES (Juan M Perez) worked on Nectar des Iles and Vents Ardents, with Shelley Waddington of En Voyage. While these two scents are in the database here, none of Juan’s other elegantly crafted works are-but totally should be!
