Description

In early 2018, the 7th version of Prada‘s popular Luna Rossa fragrance arrives on shelves. Luna Rossa Black follows the original Luna Rossa from 2012 and more recently, 2017’s Luna Rossa Carbon.

Inspired by the Prada Luna Rossa sailing challenge, an Italian sailboat racing syndicate first created to compete for the 2000 America’s Cup and co-sponsored by Prada, the Luna Rossa fragrances have been created by perfumer Daniela Andrier with bottle designs by Yves Behar.

This new version of Luna Rossa will feature top notes of bergamot and angelica; heart notes of patchouli and coumarin; and base notes of woody amber. Of note is the absence of lavender that was a key feature in so many of the other Luna Rossa editions.

Prada Luna Rossa Black is available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Being a big fan of oriental fragrances, I really felt the need to review this. I loved Luna Rossa Extreme and even got a couple of back up bottles, just in case it got discontinued, which it did. In my opinion, Luna Rossa Black is even better. The scent is oh so beautiful! Longevity is good and sillage is acceptable (especially with strict IFRA regulations). At first, I wasn’t a fan of the opening, but loved the dry down. Now, I love all of it. Nice, dark, elegant tonka reminiscent of Midnight in Paris. The dry down reminds me of a better, more modern La Nuit. This is probably the best fragrance release of 2018 and I’m so happy I can own it.
    Scent: 10/10
    Longevity: 9/10
    Projection: 7/10
    Price: 7/10

This reminds me of Armani Code. It’s a very rectangular smelling scent, but the edges are rounded a little. Clean, sturdy, slightly dark, sweet, and spicy.
The dry down is all tonka. Sweet and playdoughy.

My signature scent. I love this fragrance.
Bkack is meant to replace the now discontinued Luna Rossa Extreme and its a more than worthy replacement to my nose.
Black wears better for me, its a lot smoother & better balanced than Extreme. I found Extreme too harsh & sharp but this blends superbly well & adds a lovely added spice to the luna rossa range. Longevity is very good, if it gets on your clothes it lasts days!. It projects well for about 4 hours but does not overpower 9 / 10.
Fair play Prada, their fragrances over the last couple of years have been superb especially L’homme, Carbon & now Black.

Molecule 01 by eccentric molecule blends perfectly with this scent making it more rich, creamy and makes this fragrances pop more in terms of scent AND performance!

I recently got the bottle with pretty high expectations. However, after a few uses I have to say that is not what I was expecting. Alright, the bottle is pretty cool, but the perfum reminds me of a barbershop. I didn’t find anything too special on this fragrance, maybe is just me.
On notes, I don’t know what to say. Defenitly fresh and citrusy, but I haven’t got any sweetness out of it; again, it might be just me.
PS: got to comments on it.
    1- smells like a barbershop
    2- a compliment

I own a bottle now. I’m blown away!. so few notes and its a really really nice scent. Loved it.

I can´t believe those who get bad projection and sillage with this one! This is a EDP and it most certainly performs like it. I don´t wanna call it a beast but it´s really strong. This alongside the sport-version is one of Pradas finest. Perfect for colder days.

Completely agree with the review below. Luna Rossa Sport is also my signature scent. It’s so versatile, can wear anywhere at anytime and always receive compliments… you just can’t beat that. I’m getting married next week, and to change it up and make it more formal, I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing Luna Rossa Black. It’s similar enough to LR Sport, but to me, it’s a little more dapper, formal and darker, which I think will go great with my tuxedo. The other contender is Prada l’homme Intense. I love both scents and they fit the bill, but at least to me, LR Black is a tad darker and a little more formal. After all I’ll be the man in Black

    Updated review !
So I DID end up buying a bottle of this and I changed my like to a LOVE !
Weird thing is that this scent isnt extremely unique but it’s just extremely pleasant and even with my diverse collection I always end up coming back to this and it’s brother Luna Rossa Sport !
To see how this scent smells see my review below as my thoughts and the way I’d describe this is pretty much the same. However, I do need to add that this is a smell that after 20 minutes you think that it’s disappeared from your skin but then hours later someone may compliment you out of the blue or you may yourself get random whiffs.
In comparisons to Luna Rossa Sport I would say that they are similar but this is like Luna Rossa Sport minus the lavender and vanilla and replace that with amber and patchouli. Luna Rossa Sport is my signature scent and even though I have that in my collection I didn’t find this a redundant purchase as Prada Black is darker and better suited for going out occasions. It’s also a sexier, more mysterious smell whereas Sport is a nice, clean, calming, professional smell.
In terms of season, just like Sport I’d say you can rock this all seasons out of the year. When you first smell this you may think it’s a colder weather scent but it never gets heavy enough to become cloying in the heat.
I’d say this has also cracked my top 10 most complimented but still doesn’t quite contend with my top 5.(Aventus,Luna Rossa Sport,Green Irish Tweed,Givenchy Intense,Au Masculin)
Overall rating—8.5 out of 10 ! Very solid, sexy scent that’s good for daily wear as well as going out 🙂

Nah, I’ll pass, a bland one for me. The Luna Rossa Carbon is a way better buy, more masculine less sweet, its more versatile and pleasantly fresh.

  11. :

    3 out of 5

Wow there are a lot of comparisons here! I feel like it is different enough that I could tell it apart from the others, but I don’t think any of the comparisons are completely off the mark. I guess this shows just how crowded this segment is. That being said, it smells nice. I think it leans casual and towards the cooler weather, but it’s versatile.
I wore it on a cool (15C/60F), rainy day. It certainly lasted a long time, but it sat pretty close to the skin (I know that more concentrated fragrances are supposed to, but it was very close). I can see why performance comments are all over the place, to me it was a little above average.
I’ve found that the original Luna Rossa and Luna Rossa sport usually smell fine, but can really “come alive” in the right weather. This is a solid, if unexciting release. To me, LR Sport and l’Homme Intense are better offerings from Prada, but I can see myself weathering this fairly regularly in the coming fall and winter.

    ok. I have this fragrance.
All I can say is, the smell is REALLY good but……………….
    is THE WEAKEST fragrance EVER.
I have more than 300 fragrances in my collection. I have weak fragrances and this is THE WEAKEST OF ALL.
it lasts 30 minutes… maybe 1 hour if your skin is good.
NEVER LAST MORE THAN 1 HOUR.
I have told to people if they smell something and …… nothing… absolutely nothing….
so maybe this is a good scent for close encounters and work..because it doesn’t last and projects NOTHING..
projection: 5 minutes 20 cm máx then close to skin
longevity: 30 minutes to 1 hour.
    sillage: 0
LRsport on me lasts 4 to 5 hours easily and this 1 hour máx…

Adding another review after doing a swap on a Facebook group. Since it was out first, I’d have to say that this smells just like midnight in Paris. This is just a little bit more darker but they’re like 98% the same. Glad to have both in my collection.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

It smells just like Prada Luna Rossa extreme. I didn’t really care for that one and I don’t really care for this one either. Extremely floral and powdery to my nose. It’s not bad but it’s not anything special either. If you like the Prada carbons then you’ll like this too.

Like the discontinued “Mostly Musk” by The Body Shop back in the good old days.

    2nd wearing review !
Really liked this stuff the first time I wore this but really liking this even more the time !
This opens up with a dark, semi sweet, amber blast with pepper and very light citrus giving this some character and is fairly linear but once this dries down it gets more smooth and velvety and there’s a very unique rubbery type of note that I really enjoy. Prada Black does resemble Luna Rossa Sport but Luna Rossa Sport is brighter, more soapy and better for casual use where this is better for night time or going out use. I thoroughly enjoy both and like them about equally but I slightly prefer Luna Rossa Sport.
Performance on this is above average as it lasts 6-8 hours but only has average projection. It’s a great scent for going out if you want to smell good and be noticed but at the same time it’s not obnoxiously loud. So for that reason it’s great for dates but not great for clubbing.
I really enjoy this scent and is my favorite release of the year so far and I DO see myself getting a bottle of this.
Sidenote— this smells like a fall winter fragrance but it does well in summer nights if your easy on the sprays 3-4 sprays max.
Overall rating —8 out of 10 ! Solid scent and I’m curious to see if this gets as good of feedback as I think it will.
I did ask my fiancé’s opinion and she did like it but likes Luna Rossa Spirt WAY better as it’s her favorite fragrance of mine

    Update (of 2018 august 05) :
Back to work this morning (after great vacation). First time i wear this fragrance at the office. I already received a compliment by a coworker (woman).
It’s a great fragrance ! It smells so nice.

  20. :

I second the Dior Homme Intense comparison. I compared em on each arm and are indeed similar but LRB is softer and a bit more powdery thus more wearable.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

If something smells good just wear it whenever you want. This cologne is no exception, smells great regardless. I’ve never had anyone tell me that my cologne smells good but too fancy for the occasion lol.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

This is a very great scent, it’s unique, it projects, it lasts and women really like it.
The problem with this scent is straight up it smells so fancy, this is Black Suit & Tie, White Shirt, Classy night out scent.
As much as I enjoy this scent, this is a scent that I just don’t dress up enough to add this bad ass scent into the collection.
It smells too fancy, too sophisticate for what I do and wear and I haven’t ran into many scents where I feel properly underdressed when I wear it but this one for sure makes me feel underdressed.
This is a gorgeous scent, blind buy worthy imo provided you have some really nice dark suits and go out at night wearing that type of clothing.
This could very slightly maybe be a club scent but you would have to be wearing a real nice sport coat and have your style on lock. This isn’t really the scent I could see some unsure / unconfident person rocking.
This is straight business class, if you aren’t business class (which is fine, I’m not either) it’s probably a waste of money if you purchase this. Mature, Confident, Warm and Spicy and yes a nice Powdery Blend with some oaky/licorice type of scent in there too. This is “I will completely bang your Wife if you leave her around me” Type of scent, this is the type of scent I could see the Dos Equis guy wear. This is the type of scent that when you walk into the room you get attention first off for your look, then for your scent which just pushes everything over the edge.
This is the type of scent you spray when you absolutely have got to have sex with multiple women in the same night. This is like if La Nuit de L’homme grew up and lasted for 12 hours oh and also got your sister pregnant! That’s Prada Black, this isn’t some kiddy game stuff, this is grown man serious business type of stuff. This is what you wear when you know you’ll get womens attention and it’s just like a ‘meh, yeah females always react that way to me, it’s no big deal’.
Overall though this is my favorite scent that was released this year and it sucks for me that I just can’t do it justice besides smell and enjoy it from the bottle.
This is La Nuit De L’homme but just better, I don’t care if we are talking old La Nuit or Parfum or whatever; I love YSL and La Nuit as much as the next guy but this is like just so much better and serves the same purpose but yeah, better..It’s better than any La Nuit bullshit, straight up.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Straight after smelling the opening I’d tell it’s kind of Prada’s take on GIVENCHY PI with the sweetness being less overwhelming. Once the scent settles and dries down, similarity to Midnight in Paris by VCA is uncanny.
You need several sprays for a good projection, however longevity comes easily.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

Luna Rossa sport doesn’t have any resemblance with Le Male.
People claiming this probably either don’t know LRS or Le Male well enough.
I never could bare le Male for being overly synthetic. My boys used to love it when they were teenagers.
Luna Rossa Sport I practicly finished a bottle of 50 ml in less than a year. One of my favourite Fall/Winter frag.
For me it is a more subtil combo of YSL Body Kouros in the top and Givenchy Py in the drydown.
Luna Rossa Black is totally different from the original. Very nice. Is on my Fall list just like a new bottle of LRS is. Problem is Prada has no bargains.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

    High quality !
Indeed, it smells (top notes) a little bit like the sport version, but less sweet. For me, there is also a hint of Givenchy PI (less sweet). No more resemblance with Le Mâle.
In the drydown, there is a kind of unsweeted chocolate with a little touch of powdery.
It’s an elegant and sexy scent.
Versatile, but i think more appropriate for the cold months.
At the office or during an evening, with a nice shirt, it will be perfect.
Longevity is good. Projection is moderate-good.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

Very nice ! It rides out very subtle on the skin …not loud. It’s a good boy’s fragrance on my skin until the dry down and the vanilla-Amber starts becoming more pronounced. The good boy had a few drinks and starts to loosen up a bit. At the full dry down, LR Black gets sexy! Very well done Prada !

  27. :

NUCLEAR! Bought this as soon as it came out and I’m on my second bottle, everything about this is for me. I go places and people are like yeah I smelled that stuff you wear before I even saw you.. Not ONE SINGLE negative reaction they have all been positive, unheard of.. In Florida, the heat just brings this to life! I have no idea what makes this so good, I am unfamiliar with angelica but I’ve researched and they claim its an herbal smell(which I can detect) so that’s gotta be the key. Otherwise its a simple ambery musky tonka vibe. Still something in there that reminds me of lavender even though they claim it wasn’t in this product.
So glad this isn’t being talked about, I don’t mind sharing with the others who love it but I’d hate to see it become popular because I’m telling you this fills a room( 3-5 sprays)
    Scent = 9.5
    Projection = nuclear
    Sillage= mushroom cloud
Compliments = most complimented in the collection
I could die with this, TF grey vetiver and uomo intense and be happy. I also have nothing but good things to say about luna rossa carbon and L’homme. Everything Daniela Andrier touches turns to gold.
Buy it and thank me later

Beautiful fragrance…long lasting!!! Not a projection monster but perfect for the office and dates!!!

  29. :

    4 out of 5

This smells like Le Male Eau Fraiche without the lavender and with amped up tonka bean and musk. This is a really nice fragrance. Projection is very good but I have not tested the longevity. I do know I tried to scrub this off and it stayed on for a couple more hours. Asked some people what they thought and got the “That smells really good”. I personally would take this over Le Male Eau Fraiche and very versatile for all seasons. Highly recommend you try this out.

    PRADA CANDY POUR HOMME.
(Were PRADA not gutsy/confident enough in their sales to release a “male” CANDY?)
CANDY NUIT, CANDY INTENSE, CANDY HOMME. Whatever you want to call it, it’s from the CANDY range and shares nothing in common with Luna Rossa.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

Opening is a blast of Dr. Pepper with a dash of black pepper. I didn’t like that, but it dried a bit then turned into something beautiful. I think the next paragraph speaks for itself.
I got a sample of this at Sephora Saturday night at 1900. Me: hops in car. Removes shirt. Spray left shoulder, spray right shoulder, spray chest, spray back of neck. To movies. (yes, shirt was put back on) Meets up with the mates; “damn, you smell gooooooood bro!” (compliments across the board). Following my excursion with the mates: swing through my lady friend’s place. Sit on the couch an catch up for a while. She keeps inching closer and upon putting her head on my lap as she lays on her back, tells me I smell nice (basic compliment but y’all can’t expect her to know how to categorize scent or appreciate them like we do). As we pass out for the night she sleeps with her head on my chest, which I take as an indicator of her draw towards the scent. #scentforthescore
Initially, I felt this scent was a little too… something… for me, but wear it and see how it does for you. For me, despite my initial hesitation, it proved to be a winner; smells clean, every so slightly herbal or spicy, and sweet, yet not sweet at the same time. Just clean and sexy Tonka/amber.
The longevity is boosted if you do one spray on your clothes, or in my case, by putting my shirt on right after applying it, because the cotton soaked a bit up and held the scent through the evening.
I will be buying this in the near future.
Can somebody compare this to LR Sport for me though? I’ve been debating buying that one as well, but haven’t been able to find a sample in my neck of the woods (as I am literally in a woody rural area).
    Happy smelling mates.
UPDATE: Bought it. Does smell like LRC Sport, but I like this one better. Sport is softer and more daytime wear. This is crispy masculine suave and more night oriented IMO. Still planning to buy LRC Sport to complete what IMO is the trifecta of the LRC line.

Edit: So I wore it again this time at night. I went kind of heavy on the trigger since I was thinking that it was a light Fragrance lol. Yea kind of a mistake. It’s stronger than I thought. I was smelling myself all night. That was Friday
It’s Monday and the smell is still on they shirt. So yea it’s strong. Good Fragrance for the night. Can’t wait to wear in the fall!
Bought this today. Has a similar opening to Chanel allure homme eau extreme but lighter and less sharp. I smell a hint of Prada l’Homme In the back as well. I wore it today ( 4th of July) but I think the heat over Powers it. I would def see it working better on a warm night though. I like it honestly. It’s a sneaky scent though. Not over powering. Subtle but smells good. Will need more time and different occasions to test out longevity ECT. But overall I’m happy with this purchase as it smells different from anything else in my collection.

Decided after several tests to pick this one up. I’ve been sort of avoiding sweet frags over the last year or so as I’ve bought so many in the past, but thought I would make an exception for black as its such a unique and charming scent. Wore it today to the barbers and it was picked up instantly by a few people. ‘ah mate it is you, what is that? it smells unreal’ I seemed to fill the entire shop with 5 sprays so Just goes to show that projection and Sillage aren’t as bad as what people are making out.
Carbon is the best juice I’ve bought to date and black is another great flanker in the Luna rossa line up.

To me this is like the original luna rossa minus the lavender.
Black amplifies the gorgeous and luxurious amber drydown to the max which is the best part of the original luna Rossa. Clean, smooth and classy semi-sweet amber not harsh ambroxan mess.
Beautiful fragrance as usual from Prada. They never disappoints. Alwyas clean, classy elegant and the quality is above the standard designers category.
The negative part in Black is that the longevity is far below my expectation. Below average with weak projection.

  40. :

Powdery and sweet. It evokes the colour pink in my mind. Nice fragrance I like it.

  41. :

Not oily and rubbery like Bvlgari Black, but more herbal. Definitely in the family though…cousins…not clones. I have both. Nice scent!

Just applied a tester of this, I completely agree with those using the Bvgari Black reference point, it has the same friendly powderiness – though none of the rubber accord that was pretty distinct to BB. This is an emphasis on the ambery powder that first drew me to original Luna Rossa

Misleading the title.. this is not black but beautiful and colorfull! Very pleasant, safe and versstile fresh-bright scent for warm weather. It also carries the original Luna Rosa DNA and some DNA from my beloved Luna Rosa Extreme. It has amber/tonka/angelica with some bergamot at the background.
Moderate performance overall. Longevity is high-moderate. Projection could be better though.

    Fragrance -Luna Rossa Black Prada
    Bottle from – 2018
He’s got that sexy vibe going on.
Luna Rossa Black opens on my skin with a moderatly sweet and a bit herbal bergamot laying on top of a warm and cozy ambery tonka blend.
The drydown is all about tonka and amber with a nice touch of musk.
Luna Rossa Black has some similarities to Black by Bvlgari.
    Longevity – 7/10(7+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 7,5/10(moderate projection for the first 2 hours, than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent’s evolution)
Weather – For more or less any time of year.Best in autumn.I personally wouldn’t wear this on a really hot summer days.
    Age – 20+
    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 8/10
Main notes according to me – tonka, amber, musk, bergamot, angelica.
The drydown is powdery and musky and I get some -amber,tonka,patchouli and musk.
    Emotions – sexy,dark vibe elegance,seductive,charming.
Occasion -perfect for date, romantic evening and night out.
You’ll get compliments with this one.

Are people seriously wearing this in the throws of a brutal American heat wave? This is on my Fall “try” list for a reason. I can’t imagine amber and tonka being a fit for June weather, unless there’s something I’m missing.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

Pretty comforting warming fragrance which reminds me of Serge Lutens Chergui. Its just slightly less dense “artistic” and worse blend. The combination of amber and coumarin tones makes it smell a bit honey like. For my nose definitely cold weather scent with lower than average projection what makes it more wearable in office.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

What’s wrong with all these people saying they spray on loads and then can’t smell it? You’ve either got something seriously wrong with your nose or youre just smelling it so much you go nose blind. This stuff is strong and lasts for hours. This guy below me…12 spritz….dude you would absolutely stink lol

  52. :

    3 out of 5

This is a good one. I get a faint leather hiding underneath a scratchy texture. All smoothed over with a sweet creamy tonka- amber. The drydown is powdery. Better than anything ive sampled from Prada, im an instant fan.

  53. :

    4 out of 5

Was given a sample a week or so ago. Powder, powder, powder. If you spray a couple of light sprays, you don’t pick it up, but a good 4 sprays and that I all I get. Powder does not work for me, but if you like powdery, give it a try.

  54. :

    5 out of 5

It´s a rather sweet fragrance. It totally fits my own taste. Performance is about 6 hours with a decent sillage in the first hour and then a rather skin attached fragrance. Will wear it for nights out in the park and also for some not so hot summer days. Totally recommend it for people who like sweet fragrances but also want a touch of slight roughness.

  55. :

    4 out of 5

This was alright the bottles more interesting then the scent IMO..(love that all black) I mean it’s not a bad scent but deff. would choose L’homme Intense over this anyday. Sport still remains my fav. from the Luna Rossa line.

  56. :

    3 out of 5

Can’t wait to get this, What kind of longevity and projection is everyone getting ???

  57. :

    4 out of 5

An airy, un-sweetened chocolate…Two blasts on the back of hand lasted strong, past five hours when I washed it off, vigorously, but then could still easily detect it’s base.
It’s a big, pass for me at this time, as it reminds me of bad shoe polish..as, Boss Oud, in that same context, smells like real, nice, polish.
To my nose, this, doesn’t hold a candle to the, Bvlgari Hockey Puck, and falls way short of Midnight in Paris, which is much less daring than the aforementioned, Bvl Black.
A full wearing, I would recommend, as this was just a first impression..but, it just seemed as if, lacking some finishing touches. Definitely, a try.

Well prada never disappoints. A wonderful scent. Opening very mysterious. Drydown even better. In my opinion i dont see it as an only summer fragrance , very versatile in my opinion.performance very good with nearly 6 hours. Very masculine and mysterious sc ent and leaves you curious for more. Sure on my wish list. Rating 9/10

This reminds me of F Black by Ferragamo with a hint of rum/booze. Really enjoying this one, just like I do with all Prada’s.

Tried it today on a paper strip and reminded a lot of Armaf – Oud. Quite a dissapoontment actually. I’m passing it.

Review update: I did a full wearing of this. The dry down may remind you Bvlgari Black, but not the opening. Not even close to it. It is indeed a cheaper version of Cargo de Nuit, meaning not only about price but about quality as well. It is really unique and special though, an amazing release by Prada for the mainstream market. A must try indeed.

Close resembles to Chanel Allure Sport Extreme…. Smells like a powdery Luna Rossa Sport..

Not sure if my nose is playing tricks on me, but this cologne has a sickly sweet scent to it. I’m not a fan but it’s probably just me.

I can´t check the box “i have it”. What´s up with that Fragrantica?! Wonderful fragrance by the way. No reason to choose between the Sport version or this. They are not that similar. Buy em both, both are really good!

This fragrance is the sport version without the vanilla. Checks off all the boxes from the Luna Rossa DNA & settles into straight tonka bean and amber that’s a close reminder to MFK’s Grand Soir (play-doh smell).
I don’t get any spice like the extreme version which I own or any pepper in that regard. This could easily replace the sport version if you have to decide between the two.

Oh man this one is awesome. Probably the best designer release of 2018 so far imo. Mix Luna Rossa Sport with ambrette seed, amber, and Bvlgari Black, and this is what you get. Very well blended, and it smells so sophisticated, avant garde, and sexual

What is wrong with the voting system this time, on every action it says too early to vote?
Fragrantica working on a system against bot/hate voting, but yet again it is hurting us, can not vote on notes, performance, similarities or even if I like or dislike it on a fragrance that is already out for quite some time.

Really liking this one a lot. It reminds me of one of my favorite fragrances called Van Cleef and Arpels Bois D’iris but turned up a notch.

I just love it! The smell, the bottle, everything. It smells dark, sophisticated, charming. I think it’s a really good release from Prada.

This is another quality release from Prada. Beautifully blended creamy scent. It is definitely dark, but warmer and not as sharp as Luna Rossa Extreme. If you like the powdery drydown of Midnight in Paris by Van Cleef & Arpels then you HAVE TO try this.

EXTREME IS WAY BETTER TO ME-CLASSIER AND SEXIER-this black is weak

I like this version a lot. It reminds me of the fantastic Polo Double Black, without the coffee note. I think this one is much better than the extreme version. Both are kind of dark but Black is a little more on the fresh side.

This is full of aldehydes, unless that smell is (Angelica). This cannot be a safe blind buy, based on posted reviews.

This is the least interesting of the Luna Rossa line that I can tell from one wear. However I’m such a lover of the subtlety of Andrier’s work that I’m prepared to give this more of a chance in future, so this review is subject to an update at some point. I was pretty gutted when I learned that Luna Rossa Extreme had been discontinued, I just hadn’t realised. This is pretty much in between the original and Extreme but not quite as standout as either of them. The tonka bean is handled well considering other scents around containing this ingredient and comes off as a milky musk. There’s lavender in here, it’s not listed but I reckon it’s there. Angelica could be giving some sweetness and as for patchouli? maybe but it doesn’t seem like a patch heavy scent.

Nice and pleasant. Better upscale version of Burberry Touch in my opinion. Worth trying.

This is out now in the UK, exclusive to The Perfume Shop chain for now. Really classy stuff. Instantly reminds me of Bvlgari Black, but softer and without the screeching rubber note. Also quite reminiscent of Midnight in Paris. Longevity may be an issue, but I absolutely love the scent itself!

Well helloooo Mr Black…good job prada, this is a nice little edition to the Luna rossa line up. Sweet but not overly sweet, mellow, warm and calming scent. The Amber is the star player in this and it works a strong tag team effort with the Tonka to create a creamy even slightly chocolatey vibe. The other notes play their parts especially during the middle of black but it’s the Amber and Tonka that open and close the show. Nice opening, gorgeous dry down, PLRB stays fairly close to the skin but still creates a nice scent bubble for the first 2-3 hours it’s applied, fairly good performance aswell. I’d buy it.

    its nice
    close to skin after 1h
    mellow/milky
gf said flowery, didn’t get that
    unixsex
    nothing special (to bad)
    carbon vibe somewhere
Doesn’t last long 4h’s and gone
    Not worth the money
    Similar performance as Carbon…
Smells gorgeous on your clothes next morning though
