Description

Yves Saint Laurent will offer another version of the original fragrance L’Homme from 2006 in February 2016. The house announces that this new potent fragrance from the L’Homme collection has an Eau de Parfum concentration and is called L’HOMME ULTIME. L’Homme Ultime is described as the essence of a modern man, presented through the notes of the iconic fragrance which reflects courage, elegance and magnetism.

Powerful, wild and delicate at the same time, L’Homme for 2016 allegedly represents the contrast between freedom and control. It conveys a man who seduces women and inspires other men. The fragrance is aromatic, woody and intense. A citrus explosion of grapefruit at the top is spiced with ginger and cardamom. The heart contains rose in a masculine interpretation, its natural sensuality enriched with aromas of sage and geranium. Cedar and vetiver in the base give the final woody signature to the composition.

L’HOMME ULTIME will be available as a 60 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. L’Homme Ultime was created by Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Juliette Karagueuzoglo.

    An Absolute beauty
I just got this fragrance and I Love it.
L’homme ultime is a classy, rich and unique fragrance for all year around. Just like Original l’homme.
L’homme ultime is like Original l’homme with added rose, but rose note in l’homme ultime is not prominent like declaration d’un soir by cartier, it’s smooth and tamed. Ultime is a deeper and more interesting version of l’homme but again it does not last and project like all YSL fragrances now days.
    Scent:10/10
    Performance:5/10

Big Respect to Dominique and two ladies accompanied to him.
For me this is one of the best new creations. I personally respect to Dominique because of his interpretations. People complain about the synthetic smell. I could not detect that as the highly skilled noses:) The mixture of citrus and ginger put a very sensual meaning to this classy scent. Maybe people may claim that , there can be yuzu type spa smell in some points, but other than that is is very sensual, up to date and long lasting. In some ways it can be used all year long.

Love at first spray. This has great longevity and sillage on me. Love all the citruses in the beginning, to the long-lasting vetiver and apple heart. Hubby detects sandalwood in addition to the cedar in the base. “You smell like cleaning supplies, but in a nice way”. (that’s got to be the cashmeran… I can smell it for hours, days on even washed clothes.) I have to agree – we have a spray bottle of Miss Meyer’s “Lemon Verbena” cleaning solution. Similar effect: happy self and home.
    I chose to buy a sample travel size from a reputable ebay seller instead of a full bottle – I find the original packaging very clunky and inelegant. I like brutalist style as much as the next design school nerd, but that cap is just unnecessary. ^^;
Overall very pleased with my little EDP. Will check out some of the other fragrances recommended in these reviews.
Edit: according to @dolcethadon here in the reviews, bergamot and apple actually aren’t mentioned in the official notes list. Yet I seem to smell them quite clearly! Perhaps I am identifying the grapefruit and either the rose or the geranium as such? Strange. I am a newbie though, still training my nose. Those notes are two of my favorite parts of the character of this fragrance…

It is synthetic but hey, here is a suprise for you…
almost all mainstream perfumes are synthetic as fuck! 😀
YSL Ultime is no exception and it’s not more synthetic than synthetic bombs from Hugo Boss, Azzaro or JPG. YSL belongs to L’Oreal so despite of synthetic feeling you get some quality molecules as well as they are very well blended in this one.
I can also distinguish single notes like rose, ginger, apple and vetiver. I also get sometimes this weird feeling from the base notes but not everytime. F.e. Hermes Terre eau tres fraiche base notes are 10 time more horrible on me than from YSL Ultime. Terre smells like dead flowery shop…
As already mentioned this is decent frag which is a little bit overpriced and similar to Joop Wow (Joop is clone of YSL Ultime with better base notes).
I like it and to me it’s solid 7/10

I’ll say this one caught me off guard, I wasn’t expecting much from this.
    Apple, Rose and Spice.
I sprayed it on my arm, let it mellow on my skin for about 15 minutes, while sniffing other scents.
I came back to this one. I must say this smells very gooooooood.
The sephora consultant agreed it smell very good on me. She stated she’ll be purchasing it for a her guy.

Smells bad when smelled close. But I changed my mind after I kept getting wafts of it. Great fragrance.

Very nice fragrance. It smells SO good on me! Fresh spicy, strong but not overpowering, extremely clean-smelling, and aromatic. The first time I wore it, I got about 3 hours on my skin from 2 sprays and when I walked outside in the 95 degree heat, it was gone. But I kept the sample vial I got from Sephora in my shirt pocket and got whiffs from it the entire day! It would have been much better coming from my skin.
9/18: I wore it last night to my religious services and the projection was marvelous. I knew I could be smelled all the way up front. I still smelled it when I went to bed and loved it even more. Such a well-done fragrance that is pushing its way to my favorites list. I’ll see with a few more wears. I actually woke up thinking about it!
This smells very close to YSL Y for men, which I also like, but this is better. 9.5/10.

When I first tried this way back I was not impressed because I didn’t spray it on. Let’s be honest the new nuit formulation sucks, l’homme smells like bug repellant, and Libre can become too peppery and sweet although better than the latter. Y is way too synthetic sweet. ULTIMÉ is certainly the ultimate of men’s YSL. The Rose saves this big time and makes you almost think of Cartier Declaration d’Un Soir (as I tried to put above^ but only intense pops up)…but better without too much florals. What people don’t realize is if you can’t smell it, you hav olfactory fatigue from huffing it upclose non-stop bc it smells so good. Furthermore, ppl judge the smell at a quarter inch distance when it will never really be smelled that way.. the waft is incredible. This is my signature now as it is also a very versatile year around champion.

This a nice smelling frangrance, maybe a bit sharp smelling and rose carries thru and stands out Abit more then I would like…but not “cheap” smelling. IMO it’s kinda like invictus with rose in beginning, but then settles to original YSL L’HOMME but with hint of rose. On plus side it also last 8+ hours on me. Not a projection beast, but not everyone wants to be smelt when they enter a room. People will notice within your personal space area. Definitely a like for me..7 out of 10. Solid release.

The hype is not real. The classic L’Homme and the original La Nuit were awesome, this one – not so much. I’d even say it’s on the cheap smelling side.

  11. :

    5 out of 5

Very classy and masculine, La Nuit de L’Homme Le Parfum watered down and a touch of L´Homme and rose notes, too spicy for summer in my opinion but good for other seasons. Perfect for Spring and fall
    Longevity 6-8hrs
    Sillage Moderate
    For Daytime I prefer L´Homme

  12. :

    4 out of 5

    Very impressive performance!
    Longevity & Sillage is amazing.
Actually, it’s so strong on my skin, I only need about three sprays. I can still smell Ultime the next day after showering. Surprised about comments below stating performance issues…perhaps try on your skin before purchasing.
For meeeee, this is a winter scent.
It has a lovely warming spicy ginger cardamom rose combo which is quite sweet and could become cloying in the summer heat. I don’t get much citrus at all.
Definitely try before you buy (if you can).

Okay, first off I had to take my initial review down because my mind changed drastically about this fragrance.. Initially I loved it.. now not so much.. The rose note carries on too much in my opinion.. I’m now not a fan of rose.,

Smelled it today. Nothing special. It’s maybe more of a unisex, I guess?
Update: It lasted almost 8 hours on my skin, but at that time it is veeeery close to my skin

  16. :

    Very, very pleasant woody-apple scent.
I don’t really want to write something like “perfect for office”, “perfect for work” etc … Yes, it definitely is, but I would be more comfortable wearing this perfume for daytime walks, brunches and meetings.
    Classy, uplifting, masculine scent.
If you are looking for a charismatic, fresh (but not aquatic or airy) fragrance then this EDP has all chances to become your best friend for everyday wear.
Longevity & Projection are not impressive though…

    Second review:
After trying so many fragrances, I can tell you that ultime is among the top.
It is meant to be kind of similar to chanel bleu and dior sauvage but it is so unique and doesn’t smell generic at all. Another plus is its super longevity, it just lasts and lasts and you should not worry about it.
Main note is grapefruit and ginger with a good dose of synthetic cedar woody accords (iso E super or cashmeran) that is elegantly and smoothly executed. I dont get the rose note and dont know how it became the dominant note according to the reviews but it is maybe just my nose.
It is a very beautiful scent and unbelievable complement magnet.
    10/10

This is my favorite cologne to date, it is kind of a soury sweet smell that is air to me. Marvelous cologne, a must smell in my opinion.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

Fresh, office-safe, comforting, all-year-rounder, a very pleasing frag for those who tend to be on the fence about what to wear. This is a 100% dumb reach.
I also find the subdued, but ever present rose accord pleasant and comforting, lending this special flanker uniquness and character.
Along with L’homme Libre, this is my nr. 1 flanker in the line, way better than the original (let alone the unbearably cloying Nuit flanker).

  20. :

    5 out of 5

This is a very underrated fragrance considering what Loreal is manufacturing in the last times.
I think it would have had better acceptance if it had been a different line independent from the hundred l’homme flankers

  21. :

    5 out of 5

Smells like the original but a bit flatter, more muted, colder. Very versatile clean and classy. Somewhat forgettable and generic. However! I will absolutely buy this. It’s always good to have scents you can count on without overthinking with a button up and tie. This is a solid cologne. Not flashy, not unique, not a breakthrough, but one that is pleasing, not offensive, and masculine. It is one I am definitely considering for this summer.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

ROSE note dies after initial blast rather quickly (after 15-20 minutes) so why this is on the first place in notes detectable?
After initial blast and approx 30 min the magic is gone all you get is woody-cedar-ginger mess :/
    5/10
starts great but quicly becomes average overprice scent
Reminds me of some ordinary cedr frags…

  23. :

    4 out of 5

I personally found this too safe. Is as if you made a fresh version of Gucci pour homme 2 (blue Juice) without the spice or tea.
I found this fragrance slightly comforting and I certainly would have liked it earlier in my fragrance game, but this is too generic for me and slight powder smell was not something that fit my personality.
I find this unisex and would love it on a women in white. I also can find it to be a more innocent or formal CH 212 man.
IMO this is not manly whatsoever and suggest Midnight in paris or Byredo Gypsy water over this.
Burberry Touch would be the best budget and available competitor to this.
3/5 and I passed up a deal on it.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

L’Homme Ultime is a manly fragrance in a sexy way. It is intimate as in “come-hither”, and “cuddly” kind, and at the same time, makes the man feel sharp, smart and elegant (rose and geranium bring out that classy vibe). It has a fresh, bright but not sharp opening, with just the right ratio of grapefruit and bergamot. I think the sour green apple in this one did a good job on toning down the citrusy sharpness, as grape fruit sometimes can easily be overwhelming as found in Bleu de Chanel EDT. I love the soft, warm, spicy sweetness from ginger, sage, and cardamom combined. The end of the dry down did feel a touch “powdery”, but very acceptable in a masculine way with cedar.
Overall, this one is appropriate for all year round day time wear, and going into date night. By far, I think it is one of the most “practical” fragrances for men, as it serves “multi purposes” in one bottle. It is a great item to add to the toiletry bag for men who travel a lot for business or pleasure.

    L’Homme Ultime….the best a man can get!
    My signature.
    L’Homme, but better
    Elegance in a bottle
    Ultime…the Ultimate
No- this is not powdery as I hate powdery fragrances such as Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Parfum.
No- this is not “flowery” or feminine…not unisex.
Masculine, but not in a ‘lumberjack’ sort of way.
Yes I would say it’s better than La Nuit de L’Homme as it is more versatile.
    This is a masterpiece!
Verdict…Awesome, suave, a must have IMO
(Yet, I’ll be happy to be the only man in the office wearing this gorgeous fragrance!)

This probably won’t be taken as a compliment but I was at the local Belk last weekend and tried a spray of the Paco Rabbane Invictus Aqua, I disliked it so much that I had to wash my arm in their restroom. I went back and had a spray of this YSL L’Homme Ultime. Honestly, at the very first, it smelled like the Invictus Aqua. I talked myself into leaving it on. I used to wear YSL La Nuit but the reformulations killed it for me. After an hour or so, this Ultime version started improving a lot. I would even say there’s a little of the Blue scent in this, Bleu de Chanel, Dylan Blue, off the top of my head and while those aren’t favorites, they are nice-smelling colognes so the Ultime at least smelled good. It improved a little more over the next hour or so. I almost considered buying a bottle. It’s not as strong as those two Blue ones I listed but it has a good mix of scents in it. One of the better YSL scents I’ve smelled in the last 5 years.

I was surprised how close to the Libre this ended up being on the skin after the dry down. If you are going to go to all the trouble of making ANOTHER flanker, couldn’t it at least be different from past flankers?!
    Geez louise…

Very underrated fragrance. It strikes a nice balance between fresh and spicy. Longevity is above average and has a fantastic dry down. Highly recommend!

It smells amazing and has long longevity. The siliage is soft, though. To me, This perfume is extremely underrated.
The opening is good, but the drydown is really great. It doesn’t turn sour like the original.

The opening of this is absolutely amazing. One of the best smells i have ever put my nose on. It dries down to a somewhat powdery scent, but some of the opening notes still linger which is great. That being said, I only wish the performance of this would be better. It’s got great longevity, but projection is pretty much a skin scent after the first hour maybe 2. Aside from that, it’s still a scent worthy of being in my collection. I’ll just reserve this one for dressy or close encounter situations and over spray a little.

Ultime is a beautiful flanker, that could be considered mass appealing, but doesn’t smell like a generic, low quality, rushed release. Ultime is now my favorite flanker from this particular line.
If you like L’Homme get your nose on Ultime, as it shares the same DNA, while at the same time smells distinctly different Ultime is a cologne that I actually enjoyed immediately upon application. Ultime could easily be worn year round, and be a daily scent.

I love the smell of the freshness of this perfume. Unfortunately, like other YSL L’homme lines, the performance is not good enough (longevity is poor and sillage is soft). So it is recommended to bring the atomizer to respray the freshness of this perfume.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Nice to see YSL come out with a frag that lasts more than an hour. Im a huge fan of the original L’homme scent but I just dont wear it anymore cause I get tired of reapplying it 5 times a day.
This one was weird for me. I found that at first it projects incredibly soft, I could barely notice it. However after about 30 mins the rose and other scents really come alive and then you see the beauty that Ultime truly has.
It last around 6 hours for me which is awesome for a YSL frag. I still feel it could project a little bit better.

This and L’homme Parfum Intense are not anymore on the website of yslbeauty…maybe discontinued? And 200ml bottles are also hard to get!

  39. :

I liked L’Homme Ultime. Many criticize the fragrance without knowing and testing. I did not feel the DNA of his predecessors. I found this very different from the last releases of the L’Homme line. Fresh and elegant shade. Durable power on my skin (8 hours) and excellent versatility. On my skin, the projection was very moderate. It is worth knowing. Affirmative. L’homme Ultime please do not reformulate.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

I think this has been just reformulated. Maybe L’homme Cologne Bleue will replace this one.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

I was hoping that this would be the final L’Homme flanker, since “ultime” translates to “final”, but my hopes have now been destroyed. A L’Homme Cologne Bleue is coming out in 2018….. It never ends.

  42. :

I have been in fragrance collection for past 3-4 years, owned numerous batches of aventus, have a good selection of Bond no 9, Dior, Mancera, Roja and Tom Ford. These are all great houses but today after sniffing the Ultime, I have found the scent I’ll wear for rest of my life. Performance could be little better but I’ll overlook it for the smell and feelings it gives. It has the elegance of Dior Homme series, a sweetness of Sauvage, spiceness of La Nuit and freshness of Lomme. Ah, I’m wearing it and what a wonderful smell. Thank you YSL for putting my frag hobby to rest and giving me with a scent that suits my personality

    Beautiful fragrance.
Masculine, elegant, complement getter, super long lasting and very versatile.
Crowd pleaser but unique and not generic IMO.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

Like it. On my skin it dries down to a baby powder smell (which I actually hate), but on my clothes it keeps its highlighted notes. I may buy it, but will have to apply mainly on my clothes. Lasted the whole work day in this manner.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

Good lord. I don’t quite know why I love this one so much but I do. I suppose you could say it’s “generic” but it doesn’t lack the notes that I love. It tickles my olfactive bulb for sure and others seem to like it as well.
It starts off with a sweet zest of grapefruit which only lasts maybe half an hour. The cardamom and ginger giving it a snap (pardon the pun). I can see the initial comparison to TdH. That stage doesn’t disappear but rather melds into the powdery rose phase bringing Burberry Brit to mind but with the added aforementioned sweetness. Well into the drydown it stays sweet but the woody facets start to show. A cedar bomb as another put it. It has a modern dandy kind of vibe to it which is not really my style but I do love this scent.
I can see a stylish late 20’s to 30’s man (possibly some women) rocking this one. It’s structure would seem pleasing enough in summertime but this really blooms in a cooler atmosphere. The powdery rose looms in the air a bit better. The sillage is moderate to high and the longevity is excellent. Inoffensive, sexy, easy blind buy if you like the notes. Just a generally pleasant frag and a surprise to me.

  47. :

Basically, I agree with comrade GRAF – this is a very generic men’s scent that we all have seen a hundred times already…
    BUT!
it is quite appealing! I found myself walking around the fragrance store with a paper card with L’Homme Ultime in my hand for a good 20 minutes. I was thinking “I know this scent, I’ve smelled it already… but I like it so much!”
This one has something special in it.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

Quite generic masculine scent. Very faint rose, synthetic composition. Moderate performance. Not for me.

  49. :

    4 out of 5

I really loved this one, but it was bugging me what it smelled like – I knew it was soooo familiar.
Coincidentally I started unpacking my fall scents last night, and my good buddy Terre D’Hermes said hi, and I knew instantly what YSL L’Homme Ultime had reminded me of – this smells just like the TDH drydown after the citrus dries off. Both are lovely semi-dry aromatic cedar bombs.
Neither is what I’d call cheap, so I imagine if you find a bargain on one or the other, go for that one.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

In late drydown I also have resemblance of Bleu de Chanel and Versace Dylan Blue. Still very good frag but not for the price.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

If this is to be the last of this line..then well done.
It smells like the “completion” to a long saga from this line, all the notes mix and flow…smooth.. light and airy.. fresh..

  52. :

    5 out of 5

If you would like 30-40% cheaper alternative but as great as YSL Ultime I reccomend you to try Joop Wow!. I own both frags and they are equaly extraordinary with great parameters!
Joop Wow is a little bit more sweet-woody in drydown and Ultime is more cedar-woody. Also Joop has better performance. All in all both are very simmilar but Joop is cheaper 😉

  53. :

    3 out of 5

This scent is sweet and woody. It is pleasant enough, and I’ve enjoyed wearing it a few times. This is a good office scent, or even going out. It smells good and performs fairly well. I agree, this does not smell at all like 1 Million. Not sure where someone drew that comparison, I would say L’Homme La Nuit is closer to 1 Million.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

My wife and daughter presented this cologne to me on Father’s Day. I had sampled it before that; I thought it was “alright.” I’m not always a fan of grapefruit, and it definitely opens with that. On the other hand, the rose caught up with the grapefruit quickly enough and the cardamon, one of my favorite elements, was present enough.
The biggest negative for me though was that the scent didn’t project or last as much as I typically like. That is to say, on me it didn’t seem to project or last at all (I know, I know, it’s almost as though different colognes work differently on different people).
In any case, something interesting began to happen. I found I liked the quality of the scent, its composition, in ways that made up for my usual profound preference for strong projection.
This experience has me re-considering some other colognes that never struck me as good projectors. It also leaves more positively inclined toward floral and grapefruit notes. So, in liking one cologne more, I may just end up with a few more on my shelf. What I’m looking forward to most, however, is seeing where else I can enjoy the composition of a scent in ways that go beyond just moving well from one note to another.

  55. :

    3 out of 5

Sigh… This fragrance is pretty average. It’s an EDP that projects really well and has pretty good longevity. The problem with this is that I feel like you are only settling when you buy this. What do I mean by that? You would not consider this if the original L’Homme had the performance and longevity this had.
This scent is pretty linear but that’s not what’s bad about it. The smell is just okay. It is pleasant but nothing more. It’s not seductive, it isn’t unique, and doesn’t stand out. It has a metallic fresh smell but lacks the Sauvage touch. Bvlgari Atlantique and Dylan Blue smell better, perform better, and are cheaper.
The versatility is not bad though. This is better for the spring but works well in the high summer heat. L’Homme Ultime is a good day time office work scent that can be worn buy any age group. This is not an outdoor, clubbing, or date fragrance. This is could also be for a man who wears only one fragrance. I can also see a very confident woman pulling this off.
You will be smelt when wearing this but except minimal compliments. This will last you about 8+ hours and creates a nice scent bubble. This is where it crushes the original and tries to make itself seem worthy.
Honestly save your money. Better work fragrances to be had. It doesn’t smell as good as the original and nothing stands out about this. It does not suck but why settle for this when there are better fragrances to be had. This fragrance leaves you with a “meh” feeling and noticed I didn’t compare it to La Nuit for a reason.
Presentation – 8/10 L’Homme bottles always look great
Scent 6/10 – Just average nothing special
Longevity 8/10 8+ hours which is good for this fragrance
Versatility – 6/10 Warm weather office fragrance only
Performance – 8/10 Works well in controlled environments
Silage – 8/10 It’s an EDP so its leaves a good trail
Value- Depends on your wallet and collection

This is my first YSL fragrance. I have both l’homme, la nuit de l’homme, and l’homme ultime decant, but this is so good that I decided to buy a full bottle of it instead of l’homme or la nuit de l’homme. Fresh fruity with great performance. I love it from it’s initial blast until drydown.

Smells great. But to my nose it drys down to Burberry for men. Stick with the original L’homme and La Nuit De L’Homme. Not saying it’s a bad scent it’s just that I can get this scent from Burberry for 30 dollars.

With this particular fragrance different notes reveal themselves and feature more prominently, depending on the weather and heat where you are. I suspect Ultime is very sensitive to weather, judging by the wide spectrum of notes absent to some and incredibly dominant to others in the reviews below.
I tested this in hot weather and the Cedar features very prominently in the heat, and the lighter notes vanish almost completely during drydown. Judging from the reviews below. the rose /grapefruit/ginger feature a lot more prominently in cooler, mild weather.
I strongly suspect Ultime likes mild weather best. So be mindful of this when you test or wear it.

Been getting slowly back to the world of fragrances, yet all i see is the same snobs and niche lovers that wanna disgrace a fragrance because it’s a flanker.
During my “break” of fragrances i noticed that scents that smell good are not backed up behind their brand nor their price tag. And people wonder why so many fragrance heads left the game eh?
Anyway.. to the people that are unsure if they should get this or not, i’d advice you to give this one a try, don’t be shy this fragrance is versatile in any situation and it’s good smelling. La Nuit = a masterpiece of a fragrance to bad they had to reformulate it, L’Homme = great starting fragrance, i own it but it always had a somewhat “feminine” vibe to me when wearing it, L”Homme Libre = i can dig this one, it’s edgy and gives me an airy vibe which i like.
It’s a fresh airy type of scent, rose in the background while you get the woods and citrus as your main notes.
The drydown reminds me of Bleu de Channel but a more youthfull version of it.
Be open minded when it comes to fragrances and you’ll enjoy this one.

Opening is quite nice. Like a fresher La Nuit de L’homme. the rose mixed with cardamom and citrus is pleasant. The bad thing about this one is as where La Nuit remains the same for hours, this turns synthetic fairly quickly and all you get is sweetness mixed with alcohol. In other words a very generic type of scent that can be found in many other fragrances. I prefer La Nuit over this and even La Nuit Frozen Cologne.

Too much cedar and low sillage. Not a fan of this so far but I’ll give it more time…

To me it’s almost like a perfect cross between la nuit and regular lhomme . Definitely a great scent , too soon to guage performance . Loving this so far

@fragrantica – I am not sure why the note breakdown listed above for Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme Ultime was changed, but whoever updated the note breakdown actually happened to get it wrong, when it was already right in the first place! The notes that were listed originally actually happened to be the correct notes for this fragrance.. “Bergamot, apple, & cashmere wood” were recently added to the note breakdown but are not actually a part of this fragrance at all, so I take it that there must have been a mix up.. These three notes are not listed on any existing note breakdown for L’Homme Ultime anywhere! I would definitely appreciate it if someone could once again fix the note breakdown for this fragrance.. I’m just trying to help! The correct note breakdown for L’Homme Ultime is below..
Top Notes : Grapefruit, Ginger, Cardamom
Heart Notes : Damascena Rose, Sage, Geranium
Base Notes : Cedarwood, Vetiver, Labdanum

    Very sexy and unique vibe
It doesn’t last that long 4-6 hrs max and sillage is 5/10
    But it gets compliments.

A very nice flanker from the l’homme line. On my skin it performs better than the current la nuit de l’homme and l’homme version. Projection is average but logerivty is great, considering this is quite a fresh scent, I am delighted to say this lasts 6-7 hours on my skin. Ideally it would project slightly better but I won’t complain.
The opening of this particular scent is almost spectacular, opens up with with a lovely grapefruit note. The dry down is not as spectacular but none the less remains very pleseant. Still, I consider this to be a versatile summery/spring scent.
    Versatility 8/10
    Scent 9/10
    Projection 7/10
    Longevity 8.5/10

This is a good fragrance that can be used by woman too.
    Rose dominate the fragrance.
Sometimes it’s evident rose plus ginger, that i like. But sometimes i get that tutti frutti vibe that I hate. Once I started to notice this Bubblegum vibe, I started to dislike. And I can’t fix it anymore.
But it’s just my opinion, if you dont care about that, you should give it a try.
So it’s grapefruit, it goes to the Blue side of the fragrance, if you understand me.
And it remembers me a lot Burberry Brit. Very powdery rose with ginger.

A tribute to magnificent YSL L’Homme. I tried it several times from decants and finally decided to buy. Don’t expect monstrous sillage and longivity, it is Eau de Parfum though.

Today I tried this perfume. Well, after very nice opening, it changes the smell drastically and then it dissapeared after half an hour on my skin. It’s just useless. Unfortunately I also find this dissapearance trend on Hermes TDH, which last me just the same – less then hour, also nowadays Kouros. I can’t say that for Sauvage of Dior, or One Million of PR or Issey Miake perfumes which are lasting a whole day. That means that it is not type of skin but quality of fragnance itself. It’s a shame that manufactures charge so much for such a short lasting scents.

The cardamom is strong with this one and works extremely well with the cedar, the vetiver and citruses play well together florals there but not very noticeable or recognizable especially since Rose is 2nd most voted (i find that kind of perplexing), full bottle worthy imo leans masculine

Wayyy too much cedar for me. Cedar grows everywhere around here and that’s probably why I find the note to be very boring and not something I would want to smell like. The opening is TREMENDOUS but it dries down to a very distinct and overwhelming cedar note which I would like to smell like only slightly more than pine. I do pick up the apple note and then there is a hint of bitter rose that lingers for a little while… that is nice but when it’s gone, just cedar.
I Compared side by side with LIBRE (based on scent alone) and I found LIBRE to be maybe 10x better after the dry down. Again, I love YSL, and L’HOMME includes some of my
