I used Joya for many years, but as you know it’s no longer available. I looked for something similar, and finally found it. It is Gabriela Sabatini. The fragrance is almost identical to Joya!

This is for vintage, found for pennies on ebay –
Very old-school, very high quality ingredients, very pretty. As for what it actually smeels like, I agree with LordD’s analysis below. It’s absolutely charming.
Nobody uses perfumes like this anymore, which is all the more reason to do so in my book. Why not leave a fragrance trail behind you that is both delcious and unique!

Found a 60ml bottle of this today in the charity shop.
Packaging perfect, pre barcode.
Perfume is still in great condition, smells great – strong hasn’t gone off at all.
I’m over the moon, so thrilled.

So this has been added to the data base now 🙂
Top notes have probably gone off a bit, but still the feel of this fragrance is warm and “sunny”. At least, that’s what it makes me think of; sun and the colour yellow. Or golden green. A happy little thing!

Sweet citrusy, aldehydic, fizzy opening; dries down to a warm, powdery iris over a base of vanillary wood.
My mum used to love Joya when her older sisters wore it in the early sixties. She wasn’t allowed near it, but would sneak into her sisters’ room and dab some on when nobody was watching! We were lucky to find a cheap mini in perfect condition on eBay.
