I am shocked no one has thrown out “hollister” yet.
This perfume had promise. the top note is really sweet and fruity, but on me disappears almost immediately to a floral marine that smells like a cheap teenage mall perfume. Not particularly offensive, but not something I expect from a brand like Tocca. The longevity and silage is pretty tragic as well.

This is such a strange fragrance, where the notes don’t match my nose’s interpretation. I was excited to try it because I wanted the citrus and fruit notes. Instead, I think I’m smelling the indolic scent that other reviewers below have described.

This one is quite the chameleon on me! In the air and on paper, I immediately picked up on the watermelon and apple notes, but on my skin, the initial spray smelled alarmingly poopy/indolic and I swore this must have jasmine or some white floral note in it. Turns out it’s the frangipani that’s reading as poo to my nose, but thankfully, that scent goes away within twenty minutes or so and I’m left with a nice, watermelon/apple jolly rancher type of fragrance that I think is worthy of a travel spray, but would not pay full price for (it became a skin scent within thirty minutes and there really wasn’t much projection to speak of).

I love the lightness and fruitiness of L’Imperatrice but hate the Light Blue dry down.
I was hoping Simone would help remedy all of that, but alas.
For the record, Simone is beautiful! The opening watermelon is beautiful and it’s bright and fruity and fresh, but IMO gets weighed down too much by the florals and whatever makes it smell syrupy – the amber? The ozonic (salty) quality almost helps but in the end it’s still too stuffy. After the top all I get left is a lingering apple with a melon aftertaste and amber with florals.
I just have one of those skin types that brings out heaviness in a fragrance that’s meant to be light. I tried in cool and hot weather, dabbed and sprayed, all with the same result – too heavy! 🙁

Watermelon candy. Light and sweet. Girly.

This is straight outta 1999. Not a bad thing ….and if you like pretty much anything Perry Ellis you’ll probably be into this.

I was intrigued by the watermelon in D&G #3 L’Imperatrice. Since then I began to pay attention to watermelon scents and almost seek them out. Compared to D&G #3, Stella is less watermelony and more floral. Stella is a bit too “damsel pretty” for what I’m looking for, but it scored points for being less candy-ish and more long lasting. It doesn’t have any particular note that I dislike but at the same time I am far from feeling Wow. Maybe I should try layering the two?

I love this. On first sniff, i get tons of fresh but not sweet melon. More like watermelon rind than the actual fruit, or the whiter/light pink part of the melon. It’s very natural smelling and doesn’t bring to mind the icky cucumber melon body splashes of the 90s. I also get some citrus (bergamot mostly), some salt (like ocean water), and a good dose of woods. Overall, a really great summer perfume but my gripe is that it lasts a grand total of 3-4 hours.

I definitely get the aquatic and ozonic qualities that remind me of Aqua Di Gio but also with a bit of green sharpness and plumeria and a smidge of funk. I like it and it has pretty good longevity for me (approx 6 hrs).

I can see how people calling this “ beautiful “
and it is I guess. A warm and romantic melon.
Wearing in the middle of a cold winter and it’s
just not for me. Maybe worth trying nx season
But for now it’s just a little bit underwhelming ..

I asked a friend to bring me a Tocca sample set from the states mainly because I wanted to try Simone. I just love all kinds of melons and all things melon flavored so I’m often curious about perfumes with melon notes, but this doesn’t always work out.
The watermelon in Simone isn’t the strongest note to me. I get a lot more citrus and tart and crispy green apple with only a hint of melon. These notes smell nice and fruity and not sour or artificial like they do in some other fragrances.
Soon Simone becomes more floral. It reminds me somehow of Acqua di Gioia EDT in this stage, very creamy and clean, but it’s a bit more tropical.
The drydown is a soft aquatic floral with freesia, musk and a transparent fruity notes.
This is very light, and even for a light fragrance the lasting power is not too great.
Simone is a pleasant fresh fragrance, but the official description (watermelon, frangipani, driftwood) sounded so much better and more exciting than the scent really is. A bit disappointing.

This is a really beautiful scent. I mostly smell the authentic watermelon accord and freesia. The only thing is, it dries down too woody when sprayed directly on my skin. I don’t really enjoy that. But sprayed lightly on my hair and clothes, I find it very enjoyable. My husband also likes this. He says I smell delicious like a piece of candy. As with most Tocca fragrances I have tried, this one doesn’t last terribly long. Maybe 4 hours. I went through a decant like lightening. That being said, I still like it enough to want to purchase a large bottle for next spring and summer.

Such a lovely, refreshing fragrance. The opening is cool and crisp. It feels like a cold glass of aqua fresca on a hot afternoon. This settles into a light amber floral.
One of my new summertime favorites.

I bought a rollerball set from Sephora and fell in love with Simone. It has the fruitiness of DKNY Be Delicious, but without being so overpowering. So I purchased a spray set, again from Sephora. I was heartbroken to find that in this form, Simone was significantly more woodsy! (Not my favorite accord at all.)
I think it must be the frangipani, in combination with the woods, that needs delicate handling. Can it be that some bottles hit the right balance while others don’t? Or could it be that I just got a bad bottle? I want to believe that Simone is usually the beauty I first loved 🙂

LOVE it! It is a fun fruity fragrance that just makes me happy! Highly recommend!
I think there is a Tocca fragrance out there for everyone!

Great scent! I sampled this in a boutique and was really impressed. I went online and bought a purse size spray. It is definitely a fun and fruity fragrance, but not cheap smelling either. It really reminds me of a fancy watermelon perfume! I wish it lasted a bit longer, but overall, I think it’s a great everyday perfume for summer!

This has become my signature scent. It is one of a kind and truly amazing. I tried it on a whim, having bought a four pack of mini roll-ons from Sephora. I didn’t really care for any of the others, but Simone stuck with me, and has since become one of my all time favorite scents. I am mostly a fruity floral/gourmand type of girl, so the fact that I’m so obsessed with this scent came as a bit of a surprise. On me, there are definitely notes of apple and watermelon, and the sea salt just a pinch, which gives it some kind of beachy zest. It lasts a long time on me, and every time I smell it on myself, I can’t get over how incredible it is. It definitely has a youthful vibe, which works well for me as I’m 25. I adore this scent and plan on keeping it in my collection forever!!

I love this scent! It is completely a feminine, fruity, aquatic and floral fragrance, and almost generic, but not…It definitively does have the base note of watermelon in my opinion, and it has descent lasting power. It is a very nice and fun summer scent. Nothing too unique about it, but definitely a well-done version of a great everyday scent!! This would be a great gift for someone as well, as it is not too different or overpowering…Light and fresh!

I was kind of expecting another run-of-the-mill sweet & tangy fruity floral. This one approaches fruit notes in a completely different way. You know how amazing and unreal Watermelon-flavored candy tastes..? How, in comparison, it makes actual Watermelon seem pretty bland and tasteless? Simone is actual watermelon here. It’s not trying to trick you into thinking its sweeter or tangier than it is. It’s just… watermelon. Cool and refreshing – No dressing it up, take it or leave it. It’s very understated, subtle, and naturally sweet. It’s incredibly pleasant, especially for all the fruity florals that are unnaturally or synthetically sweet. If you dig fruit, but don’t want to smell like jolly ranchers, definitely check this one out.

Beautiful light fruity fragrance. Sweet and girly, but not as simple/generic as other “pink girly” scents, has some uniqueness to it. Very good for office/day wear. One problem- doesn’t last long…

Forty years old and just discovering the world of perfumes! What a great hobby!! Where has this been all my life?! I am eagerly trying to make up for lost time, as I get my hands on all the different samplers out for Christmas. Happened upon a Tocca sampler and am making my way through the scents.
Being new, I do not have a good nose for picking out the notes in a fragrance. So I like to look at the main accords on here when I try one out. This is listed as ozonic, aquatic, fruity, green, with rose and freshness. Wow! That’s a lot in one perfume!!
Applied before church, and to me it fresh and fruity. Glowing and nonoffensive. Perfect for church, but not my favorite. Upon returning home, nothing was left… Longevity, maybe 2 hours. Think I better keep sniffing and find out what else is out there. Happy smelling! 🙂

This is one of my favorite Toccas. Simone is a very pretty, light summer fragrance. Delicious watermelon blends nicely with delicate florals and a very light touch of apple. This is a soft fruity floral, perfect for someone who doesn’t want to gag a room but wants to smell feminine and nice. The longevity is lacking, but that is often the case with light frags.

  24. :

An uninspired scent that smells like every other fruity floral. The predominant notes on my skin are watermelon, fressia, musk and lemon. The longevity is weak, not more than a few hours. The sillage is also weak. Scents like these make me wish Fragrantica had a neutral button because it’s not bad, just dull. You won’t evacuate a room in this frag, but I doubt anyone will be moved to ask what makes you smell so amazing either.
There are other Tocca’s I enjoy much more. At least this comes in the timeless Tocca bottle.

Received as a mini bottle from Sephora. I wish I smelled watermelon and apple but all I smell is rose in the top notes. I chose this mini specifically because of the watermelon 🙁 . The middle note has strong plumeria which is lovely. Not sure about the dry down because I never smelled it. It just kind of went away after 6 hours. Just plain gone like I never put any perfume on.

I am very please with this perfume. It’s light, fresh, but not boring. This will be a gorgeous scent for the summer.

This is a gorgeous perfume for every day. It’s light but bold, definitely not overpowering but makes a statement. This is an adult scent.

Edit: I gave Simone another try recently with drastically different results. The first time I tried it was shortly after the birth of my daughter, and that must have effected how it played on my skin, along with my perception. This last try, it stayed a lovely, grown up melon scent throughout. The longevity was excellent, and the silage was perfect.

Wow. I almost never buy a bottle of perfume on the spot. I smelled this and it was The One. I’m so picky about fragrances, and this embodies almost everything I seek out in perfumes. It’s not too sweet, but very feminine while remaining smooth and soft. Definitely looking forward to wearing this all the time.

I really wanted to like this perfume, but I just don’t. Fruity florals are usually an easy sell for me, and I was hopeful with the opening of Simone. The watery apple and melon was absolutely lovely. Within the hour, though, it settled into a very heavy, perfume-y fragrance akin to something my grandmother would have worn a little too heavy-handedly. The dry down must simply not work with my skin. A shame, as I’ve been looking for a more grown up twist on melon scents.

This is so refreshing and lovely! Surprised how much I like this one. I usually dislike melon but it isn’t too sweet or bubblegum in this. It’s watery fruits and florals, very light and great for hot weather. Not too sweet but crisp — like a sip of fruit juice while sitting around the pool on vacation. Daytime wear, casual use — good vacation scent. Doesn’t last too long though.

What I immediately notice in this perfume are the florals, mixed (smelling slightly like gardenia, but not quite), plus the apple and lemon.
It is really nice. Very refreshing, soft, easy to wear and soft on your nose. Lasts moderately long, has between mild and moderate sillage.
About an hour in, the florals fade for me and I can smell more of the apple and watermelon… followed later by mostly wood notes. It’s a nice fade, I think.
I did need to respray once or twice throughout the day, but didn’t mind. Very nice fragrance. I am really liking all of the Tocca options!

This is pretty far into the range of perfumes I don’t usually wear, but I really like it!
It’s soft and extremely lady like. I mostly get freesia, rose and apples in the opening with a light hint of musk hiding in the background. It’s springtime in a bottle.
It’s pretty close to the skin on me, but I don’t mind that as it goes with the feel of this perfume.
This is an easy crowd pleaser. I can’t imagine anyone thinking it smells bad. I probably wouldn’t buy a full bottle, just because I don’t really wear this type of perfume, but if someone gifted it to me I am quite certain it would sneak it’s way onto my skin once in a while when I feel the need for some spring freshness.

Finally it’s in the database! This is easily one of the friendliest and most popular scents by Tocca. It is a fresh floral with not too much fruit with great lasting power. It’s similar to D&G #3 L’Imperatrice, only better!

I am so pleased that Simone has arrived on fragrantica and that I can be the first to review this gem.
I sniffed my way through all the Tocca scents at Sephora and enjoyed some, disliked others, and hated one or two. And then came Simone.
It is the most delightful, tropical, invigorating fragrance that I have found so far. And it has not disappointed.
I think for me it’s the combination of watermelon and plumeria. Just lovely. It is more of a summer/spring scent, but hey, I live in a beach town in Southern California, so I will definitely be wearing this anytime I want. 🙂
Longevity is moderate. A good excuse for a few more spritzes in the afternoon.
