Miss Dior (2012) Christian Dior for women of Christian Dior

SKU:  d1de48072ef7 Perfume Category:  . Fragrance Brand:

Description

Sometime during 2012 the house of Dior renamed its already reformulated Miss Dior Cherie perfume line (the original Miss Dior Cherie was launched in 2005, the new version came out 2011, and there are also numerous other editions made on the same theme) as Miss Dior (which does not have any similarity with the original Miss Dior edition from 1947).

The fragrance is created for an “elegant and spirited young woman in love.” Naturally romantic, Miss Dior inspires an intensive and playful love. She personifies the spontaneous joie de vivre of today’s young women. The fragrance represents freedom and seduction, characterized by an instant and captivating charm.

The composition is a chypre that develops step by step. It glides from the sharp charm of a fresh, fruity, citrus prelude into blossoming floral notes, then on to the noble elegance of patchouli, before finally concluding with musk, the last trace of memory.

Top notes Italian mandarin. Heart: Egyptian jasmine absolute and rose. Base: patchouli and musk.

It is available as 50 and 100 ml eau de Parfum.

The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy.

I able to grabe last batch of this fragrance before it discontinued. For me I like the new version more this one is so so. I think Patchouli and orange are crashed when they are together they left something strange behind like some one who didn’t would say it’s smell like cat pee I totally get it.
This perfume is hard to explain sometimes it’s nice sometimes it stinks.
A woman who rock this perfume more like a Madam not Miss. I can see a woman who great at her job let’s say a lady boss wear this perfume with a nice fine suite.

I’m almost thirty and it’s been a while since I’ve been looking for my signature perfume. I smelled this in my sister’s closet, my brother-in-law has bought her a gift pack of five testers of Dior and this bottle, the miniature version… i just couldn’t stop myself from sniffing it. It is different than all the famous fragrances I’ve ever smelled. It sits on my skin like the memory of love, lingering in my thoughts… like a beautiful melody. I don’t know why and mature woman won’t like it. I think, I’d have liked someone better if i smelled this on them (before i knew this was it). I cannot get over how beautiful it makes me feel. It’s sensuous, it’s sexy, it’s fragile and it smells sophistication. I’m almost sure this is something of like to wear even after twenty years.

@Shanel is it possible you are referring to the newest (2017) formulation? That one is very floral, while the 2012 is not.
I could not possibly love a scent more than I love this one. I am so sad it was d/c, but luckily I bought a 5 oz-er right before it went off the market, and I am going to buy another one off of e-bay!

I don’t understand all the hype on this perfume! It stinks! Way too floral! But if you like Floral then you’ll love this perfume!! However I must admit after a couple of hours it was much better! The initial spray was Like being slapped it the face with a bridal bouquet!!! Not my kind of fragrance!

This perfume is very similar to COCO Mademoiselle, it’s very strong, sophisticated and long lasting. I see a professional in office clothes wearing this !

Gave a bunch of testers to a female coworker. Today she wore this. I smelled her when she entered the room. She was around ten meters away and she smelled divine. Wow!
Teenagers cannot pull this off. Definitely for 30+
    Scent: 8.5/10

After the drydown, Miss Dior is:
Sweet, warm, floral, welcoming. Soft. Miss Dior is an open door to a friendly, sincere hug from a friend. It’s not flashy, it’s not edgy, it’s not sharp or bitter or challenging. It’s a perfect scent for the office, an outing to a wine tasting in summer, and reading love sonnets.
Youthful, lovely. She’s a keeper for me, for days I don’t want to shout out a super fresh scent like Light Blue, or wear the fruity, juicy Bright Crystal Absolu, or go adventuring with Lolita Lempicka, Olympea, or Coco Mademoiselle.

Tired it many many times and i wanted to love it ..It smells really nice but it’s not exciting . Great for spring days. But for the price i expected a long lasting perfume which this is not. I don’t think I’ll ever buy it.

This info is really helpful. Thank you very much Minty Mouth. I think that the 2012 smells closer to the EDT too, like you said, more than the 2017 does.
Now I know that Macy’s still carry the old formulation version and Sephora already has the new one on the sale shelf. BTW, Macy’s will have their fragrance sale again (15% off any fragrance) starting on Friday 4/27.

Bibibling is correct about the batch numbers starting with the number that represents the year. However, it might be the case that some old version bottles were produced in 2017.
The bottle of the new version I have has a batch code which, according to checkfresh.com, was produced in May 2017. It didn’t hit shelves until September, but who knows how far in advance they were made. If nobody has a bottle of the new version which predates May 2017 then that could well be the cutoff date where the scent changed.
Regarding the similarities to the EDT version: IMO, the 2012 juice smells much more like the EDT than the 2017 version does. The 2017 version has almost no detectable patch, and a boatload of vanilla. The 2012 version has a very noticeable patchouli opening, not too dissimilar from the EDT version currently on shelves.
If you want to be sure, you can check the batch codes on the tester bottles. They should be printed on the back of the bottles, near the bottom right. The tester that I have says “Tester not for sale” followed immediately by the batch code. It’s quite hard to see so you have to get the light to catch it just right.

Agreed on the blood orange note and thanks so much Bibibling 🙂

Mine is 4Q01. As far as I know, anyone who has 2012 version should have a number starting with either 2,3,4,5 or 6 because those numbers stand for the year it was made (2= 2012, 3= 2013, etc.) (I got that info from the forums in Fragrantica in the big Miss Dior flankers thread.)
And, at least to my nose, the 2017 Miss Dior EDP smells pretty different. However, they both smell similar to current Miss Dior EDT, but in different ways, if that makes sense at all. I think the blood orange makes a big difference.

Yes….wow…the Dior versions of their scents are becoming confusing and complicated….lol. So, I am not sure which “version” of this I currently have…but..WHATEVER….I am loving this scent. I think it is somewhat underrated…(maybe due to the above mentioned confusion). I do get the fruity chypre vibe, which I love. I can see the comparison to the Chanel Coco Mad too. sillage/projection seems to be so-so also. This one is a winner for me,no matter the version. Softly elegant light chypre heaven.

My signature fragrance. I ADORE this Miss Dior version, I find it very sofisticated. The new version smells too much like roses and pepper, I don’t like it at all

  17. :

A cousin of LVEB with stronger spices and patchouli note. Sweet and somewhat woody to me
Maybe more of a sister to Flowerbomb because of the wood I’m getting? Something like that

I absolutely love love love this, though it was not love at first try at all. It’s very sophisticated and addictive. Elegant but with a touch of playfulness. Endearing and lovely but with a touch of coldness. Just gorgeous.

  19. :

This is one of those perfect flowery perfumes that you can’t go wrong with, beautiful, sophisticated, elegant yet versatile as can be worn all year long and for many occasions, but I as much as love it I find it boring, just like would be a too polished person if you get me. I guess the ”perfection is boring” makes sense here.

  20. :

I don’t mind this perfume but I prefer the Blooming Bouquet. Very floral with a little woody note when I smell it. Quite an elegant fragrance and I would probably use this as a night scent and my Blooming Bouquet as a day scent.

  21. :

Love this one! It smells amazing and sophisticated. I would make this my signature but unfortunately it gives me a headache without fail every time I spray it. I really wish it didn’t. I have tried Ellen Tracy Pretty Petals as an alt, and it smells very similar with less of the headache.

I adore this perfume and feel classy when I wear it. For my budget it’s quite expensive, and I keep it for special occasions, but would love to wear it everyday as I just feel so good when I’m wearing it. Perhaps I wouldn’t appreciate it so much if I wore it daily! Once I’ve worn it, I can detect the fragrance on my coat for some time afterwards as there’s a note in the perfume that is very long lasting. It is fresh and I like the citrus notes and the underlying patchouli. It rather reminds me of my favourite men’s aftershave from about 30 years ago which was Christian Dior Eau Savage, that was one hell of a sexy aftershave!

  24. :

    4 out of 5

Delicious, soft , less in your face then say LVB…soft hint of creamy caramel , roses and great longevity, stays close to skin , does not project too far , sensual with class ,think cashmere on bare skin… you may find different notes as it warms up , so try before you buy as always, but its an elegant, feminine perfume and worth trying for anyone.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

I have had this perfume for ages and I don’t know why I’ve never written a review on it before now. This is fruity sweet patchouli with a musky undertone. Longevity is fantastic, you only need one spray for the day.
This is like Coco Mademoiselle as stated above but I prefer this one on me due to its softer, deeper and muskier presence. There an underlying spice in there too. It’s less loud and high pitched than CM. I love CM on other women but it just doesn’t suit my skin as well as Miss Dior. Miss Dior goes quite deep on me and I like that, CM screeches too loud on my skin and is too persistent and linear.
I’m sorry that Dior have decided to change Miss Dior again! You never know what you are buying, I don’t get the thought process behind it?

When I was given a sample, I didn’t like Miss Dior because it smelled too masculine. Then, the other night, I smelled it again and liked it. Wore it the next day and was hooked on it. Finally got a bottle today.
I do not see it as an “elegant and spirited young woman in love.” It is definitely not a “quiet” perfume—definitely more on the bold side. Actually, now that I think about it—I can see how they may describe it as that (I guess ’cause I’m older, the young woman part I would not associate with).
It is definitely a perfume that would get noticed—strong sillage and longevity. I was actually surprised at the longevity as I’m used to Chanel and Givenchy being good Perfume Houses that seem to always carry through with good, potent perfumes. The only perfume I have of Dior is J’adore—-it has a strange kind of sillage and it does not last long (you definitely want expensive perfumes to last long). I would definitely recommend this perfume for one who doesn’t shy away from wearing stronger scents (I know a lot of women who’ve told me they like perfumes that are very “light”—this is definitely not one of those). Some men may also feel comfortable wearing this scent—it definitely has that spicy thing going on that is often in mens’colognes (I would easily be able to label it unisex).

love this …glad i have 2 bottles to last me. Beautiful and for a full woman and its sexy , fresh and sweet…better than coco mademo.!

  29. :

    4 out of 5

This smells A LOT like Coco Mademoiselle. So much so that I thought, wait did I spray Coco Mademoiselle? The only difference I’d say is in the dry down. Where CM might be screechy, too sharp or almost unisex, this one trends strictly feminine and much softer. Its citrus note stays apparent throughout the entire dry down, and it smells like a creamy floral. I much prefer this to CM as it’s sillage and longevity are better too. Lasted a good 48 hours on clothes and projected about 2 ft. Apply sparingly! I can see this working for the office while CM doesn’t in my opinion, since this one is softer and a bit sweeter and less offensive. Very safe blind buy and the bottle is adorable.

I was truly devistated to know this perfume was going to be discontinued. While i know it is strong and not one for people who dislike patchouli or mandarin scents, but i adored it. Hopefully the new verson will also be impressive and have me falling for it too, but just in case, i purchased 2 new bottles while i had the opportunity, so hopefully i can enjoy it for a while longer until a similar fragrance to my liking catches my nose… You will be missed Miss Dior 2012.

This fragrance is too sharp for my taste and it almost gave me a headache, it reminds me a lot of Coco Mademoiselle except I can tolerate this one way more, I can’t stand Coco Mademoiselle. The 2017 reformulation sounds like something I will probably like a lot and I can’t wait to try it but this one wasn’t for me. I know it has its fans and people are really upset that it has been reformulated but the new one sounds very promising to me. It didn’t like Miss Dior Cherie either (the one with the popcorn and caramel), I was a kid when Miss Dior Cherie was popular but I knew what it was and I knew I didn’t like it at all.

  32. :

I really wanted to love this fragrance. But the jasmine and rose gives me a headache. It’s too powerful. I’ve also tried out other Miss Dior fragrances like blooming bouquet, and absolutely blooming and they also give me a headache with those florals.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

This is pure sophistication in a bottle! Even the bottle is classy! Miss Dior has a youthful vibe to it, but it’s wearable for any generation. I think it’s a timeless classic. Dior continues to be my favorite designer perfumer.

  34. :

If only I could stomach the patchouli in this, it would be a signature scent for sure, but alas, that patch just hits my nose in all the wrong ways. I have a co-worker who wears this on occasion and on her it works so well, but I’m scared to death to even put it on me because I just know the patchouli will come screaming off my skin simply because I hate that note in fragrances. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to try it, but for now, I’ll just keep the little mini bottle she gave me and treasure her thoughtfulness.
EDIT: just had to come back to this to say that my bottle has been sitting undisturbed in my desk drawer at work for months now and last week I decided to sniff it again and OMG that patchouli is even stronger to my nose! I know now that this would be an utter disaster on my skin, but will keep it because of my co-worker’s thoughtfulness and the adorable mini bottle.

Reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I don’t know why! But I think she would wear this in her iconic yellow dress.
Update: I just bought a second bottle to prolong our time together. Hopefully there’s still enough of this in circulation to keep us all happy for at least a few more years.

Thank god I could find this version in my country though it was so difficult to get it.
Miss Dior EDP 2012 is such a classy yet playful perfume, and it’s one of the best perfume I have.
I can’t stand Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming and Miss Dior EDP 2017 and I just don’t understand why they need to discontinue this 2012 beautiful formula and produce something worse instead

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I can’t believe they discontinued 2012 MD this with a flat overly sweet headache inducing non lasting formula!! Have they lost their marbles. The new Miss Dior 2017 is a generic sharp one dimensional formula that doesn’t last. Way to go disrespecting your loyal customers, Dior.
    :/

I like it but easily becames overwhelming. It’s a pity.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

This will be more a review of how Dior, as a brand, is deceiving and disrespecting their customers, and how they, to me, are losing their value as a real luxury brand…
Miss Dior is a perfume that has been reformulated many times. I can understand why they reformulated the 1947 version and make Miss Dior Chérie the new Miss Dior (which happened in 2012), because the 1947 version was indeed a little “too old” for modern times (but beautiful just the same). So, there came the new Miss Dior is 2012. But if you like the yellowish-ambar colored fragrance with a great patchouli and caramel popcorn dry-down, forget it, it has now been replaced by an insipid, boring, weak floral fragrance with no powerful base note to make it remarkable or lasting.
I don’t know why Dior would replace the 2012 version, which is a BEAUTIFUL AND REMARKABLE perfume, with that crap that is now being sold. After all, Miss Dior is indeed a classic perfume, it has been reformulated one time already, WHY DO IT AGAIN? How are they supposed to have loyal customers if they are not loyal to their customers in return? If they wanted to release a new version of Miss Dior, why not release it with a new name, such as the “Blooming Bouquet” and “Absolutely Blooming” (which are beautiful versions btw), while keeping the original 2012 version in the market?
If you want to be viewed as a real luxury brand, you are telling the world that your products are the essence of elegance and timelessness, which means your perfumes, clothes, etc will never ever need to be changed because they’ll always be trendy and desirable. If you keep changing your own products all the time (and Dior does that to their makeup line as well), you’re sending the message that your products are constantly out of date and need to be updated all the time. Also, you’re sending the message that you care about the MONEY of the customers, not their satisfaction. All brands want customers’ money, but at least they hide their capitalist intentions by being loyal to their customers and not changing their classic perfumes.
Chanel, for example, has their 1986 reformulated Chanel No. 5 but if you want to buy the original one, you can still find it. Chanel also released Eau Première and L’Eau, which are other modern versions of the Chanel No. 5 but they never stopped selling the original, true Chanel No. 5 parfum. That’s being loyal to your customers and to the legacy of the brand. Dior, on the other hand, throws away any perfume that “underperforms” according to their stupid criteria, even if it was a beautiful, amazing perfume like the 2012 Miss Dior or the wonderful Midnight Poison, which is an olfactive gem we will never see again.
I was lucky to buy a bottle of the 2012 version online, produced in 2016. So if you’re looking for the 2012 version of it, look for it in small perfume shops and online from trusted sellers and maybe you’ll find it. And always check at Checkfresh.com if the perfume was really manufactured before 2017. If it was manufactured in 2017 and the perfume is rose-tinted, it’s the crappy new version, don’t waste your time with it.
I also recommend buying an extra bottle of the “Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming” if you love this perfume like I do, because it seems that it’s “underperforming” and they’ll probably discontinue it as well. Will they discontinue or reformulate “J’Adore” one day as well? I don’t know. I honestly don’t trust Dior as a brand anymore. Too bad they’re doing this to a beautiful brand, because Christian Dior was a genius who valued tradition, legacy and craftsmanship.
Dior, your new Miss Dior is definitely not what I would do for love.

It smells young but elegant! It has sweetness and warmth to it too! Decent sillage and very long lasting.

    I think I’m IN LOVE.
To me this scent is tenderness, just beautiful womanly tenderness in a bottle. It smells like a woman whose hug makes you feel such warmth around your heart like everything in the world is going to be fine 🙂 you just never want her to leave
I think it works for day and night (just not a wild party night kind of scent 😉 and recommend it for early-mid twenties and up as I feel it is too sophisticated for a teenager
So glad I could get my hands on one of the last 2012 bottles, really don’t like the new 2017 version 🙁

I recently bought a bottle that is a batch from 2016. I am head over heels! It’s not listed as sweet, but I get a sweet orange and patch with a hint of rose. The 2017 version is as lovely, focusing on rose and pink pepper, although still clearly miss dior. I’m tired of seeing all the complaints about reformulation. Each new version is a bit different than it’s predecessor, but they’re all equally beautiful.

This is a love and my daytime scent. Miss Dior (2012) during the day and if I go out at night I generally grab Dior Addict. The opening on this is so bright and strong my kids recoil. A short time later they tell me they love the perfume I have on now and not the one I sprayed 2 hours ago. HA! The dry down is magical on me. I bought a backup bottle but eventually it will be a memory. Why, Dior??? WHY??? Please don’t mess with Addict.

This was the first perfume that I ever bought for myself and chose myself. I remember wearing it and feeling extremely elegant and sensual. It’s feminine but not “girly”. I am not a fan of the 2017 version and so was sad to see this go, because of the memories it provokes.

  48. :

Miss Dior Cherie from the 2011 Eau de Parfum. This version is 95% similar to the Miss Dior version of 2012 that you can buy and is still produced. These two versions are so similar that I will describe them together. Here the warmth and sweetness of patchouli, tangerine and rose. Only strawberries are missing, it is in 2011 and in 2012 it is not. At least according to the official notes of fragrance, but that does not bother you. Girl’s fragrance, a little fresh and sweet, but does not have the impression of stickiness.

    PATCHOULI”ED” WINE:
What an amazing scent…On my skin, Miss Dior develops into a warm, honeyed-citrus, patchouli,
woody-wine. I really love this one.

I noticed beautiful sweet orange and patchouli in the opening. This combination is both uplifting and mysterious. It reminds me of fall. The floral and musk notes show up after the perfume dries down. This suddenly reminds me of spring! It’s definitely interesting. I don’t care for the 2017 version but this one is nice and elegant.

  52. :

I adore this perfume. It’s not too sweet, it’s elegant. Hate the new Miss Dior. The pepper and rose combination is awful

  53. :

    3 out of 5

There’s apparently yet ANOTHER change to Miss Dior. On the Sephora site the notes are now rose, pink peppercorn and bergamot. No more patchouli. Seriously?? All we want is the caramel and popcorn notes back!!!

  54. :

This scent is a paradox to me, it smells mature but young? Imagine a girl in her early twenties who has her life together and knows what she wants, much earlier than her counterparts. Classic fruitchouli, makes you feel grown up and elegant. My fragrance for special occasions.

Dior has been degraded their products
I have Miss Dior 2016 version and my sister has 2015 version
compare side by side the color is different
2015 one is lighter and more pinkish while 2016 is more yellowy more gold
also houndstooth print underneath the bottle are different
    for the fragrance
the older 2015 version is more intense from patchouli and more sweet
while 2016 version is just so watery and a bit of citrus
the sweetness part is almost not appear
and you know 2015 is not the most intense version Dior has ever released
I think it’s not OK what Dior do to their fragrances
for everyone who looking for review or planing to buy new bottle should aware of that before making decision to buy one or to buy another one
you realize you pay the same price or higher to get worse products

  57. :

    4 out of 5

I have to add another heart-broken review to this but I just can’t hold it anymore. As heard the news of reformulation/discontinuation, I couldn’t be more devastated. Ok it’s only a perfume, and I can certainly find a new love. And this happens all the time in the world of fragrances; scents come and go.
But I just can’t skip my feelings by just reasoning this.
I’m utterly disappointed with Dior, and I can now understand many other people whom favorite it has discontinued (including the mythic Miss Dior Cherie). I saw these 2012 versions on discount but despite I was tempted to buy a back up, I let them there– I have made my decision: won’t buy anything from that house anymore (at least, for now).
You may think I’m over-reacting, and maybe I am, but it’s simply unfair. Miss Dior 2012 was a big love for me. Just like Janis screams in the song of the promotion film, I let Miss D. took pieces of my heart.. and now there is truly nothing left but ashes.
I was mesmerized by her stunning charm. Nothing vulgar, nothing loud or excessive. What she was, chic. Elegant in terms of simplicity, subtlety and etherealness . I felt like catching a fairy; a dainty, adorable creature right before my hands.
But it is, after all, an aromatic liquid in a glass bottle and nothing larger than life really. Not a fantasy creature. Perhaps this reasoning due to accept the fact that it’s time to let go and move on. Just like Roxette sings: “It must have been love..but it’s over now..”

  58. :

    4 out of 5

I do miss the strawberry note from the original Miss Dior Cherie, but this is as close CD can get to redeeming itself for having discontinued that gem. Having said that, the absence of the strawberry makes this more versatile. There is not can occation for which this is inappropriate – just have to adjust how much you spray.
What do l want from a perfume for which I pay a relatively hefty sum? I want a scent I enjoy. I want it to develop well on my skin. I want it to perform well. I want it to get me complements. I want to feel good, and perhaps enjoy the feeling of having indulged myself in buying an expensive perfume.
Miss Dior does all of those things. I have no complaints whatsoever. Great quality, just enough ingenuity to ensure it isn’t generic. LOVE

I don’t understand what Dior is doing releasing about 20 different fragrances all with different permutations of the same words: Miss, Dior, Cherie, Blooming, Couture, EDT, etc… It’s very confusing, especially to a person who hasn’t been following the brand’s releases over the past 10 years. The sample I have is “Miss Dior EDP” and I got it in 2017.
On me, Miss Dior is a soapy patchouli with lightly sweet citrus and florals. It’s not intrusive or sickly and is surprisingly airy. Like others have mentioned, this is a deceptively simple fragrance because it smells more expensive than the components would have you believe. It has a young and elegant quality that I imagine would appeal to “sophisticated” pre-teens.
I dig it, though! Especially as a non-teen. The drydown is soft and sweet and never juvenille. And even if I am not in love with it, I can appreciate what Miss Dior is trying to say.

Soapy champagne, with the patchouli creeping up a few hours later. It’s a very “expensive”-smelling fragrance; the kind of fragrance that makes you smell like a million bucks.
It is mature, elegant, and dignified.
It is fruity, but not sickeningly fruity. There is a hint of rose, and the citrus goes right up your nose, but I’ll say it again… smells just like soapy champagne. If you like that, you’ll love this. If you do not, this is not for you. For me, that’s what makes it so luxurious.
    Cheers!

In bottle it smelled innocent, bit vintage fragrance. On my skin it turned heavy citrus, fruity, spicy. At that point I couldn’t call it grandma perfume, but rather more suitable word for it would be good quality classic. Nothing like that model in pink princess dress in front of roses. My association with it was heavy tropical, Cuba nightclub (thou I never been even to Cuba, but that’s my association). Later it turned heavier and I started to sense in it cigars? It started to annoy me and gave me light headache. I tried to wash it off with water and soap, but even after hours it was still there as soapy, spicy grandma perfume. Later I went outside and noticed that my clothing had absorbed this smell from my washed skin. I rushed through everything I needed to do to faster return home to get shower and to wash this clothing. Unfortunately does not work for me, quite annoying and embarrassing scent.

This is the scent I was looking for when I bought Miss Dior Cherie years ago but it didn’t deliver. Carmel sweets, flowers, and a touch of spice. Can be worn by anyone, anytime of year just don’t get crazy with it. 1 or 2 sprays will do and it lasts until the next day.

This is too sweet for me, especially the beginning is very sweet. When it settles down it´s a bit drier but I prefer scents which are more spicy and fresh. It was a present from my husband and luckily just a small bottle, because it definitely isn´t my cup of tea.

I’ve tried this perfume and Blooming Bouquet, and out of the two, I prefer the EDP (Blooming Bouquet is still amazing in its own right). Miss Dior EDP is fresh and feminine, such a clean floral with a spicy kick to make it interesting. 🙂 I enjoy this perfume from the top to base notes. Not to mention that the bottle is beautiful! I’m also incredibly sad to hear that the formula will be changing soon! I may try to repurchase at least a small bottle of this again before the reformulation!!

It’s been about three years that I have a bottle of miss dior(2012 version).I even used up almost half of it but I never really liked it.back then I highly disliked patchouli and this one, chanel mademoiselle, tom ford white patchouli or any other patch dominant perfume were just in my collection because I liked to have them but I used them rarely speacially because not just me but my man also disliked them(he still dislikes perfumes with dominant patch)but lately my taste in perfume changed,I began to love chanel mademoiselle and TF white patchouli, also my love for miss dior absolutely blooming made me want to give another chance to whole line, the result is:now I like miss dior2012 alot,I almost love it and now that I’m starting to appreciate it,they’re reformulating it to another thing.I’m so sad
iamoir’s review for miss dior edp and comparing it to chanel coco mad is so aptly done that I don’t think I can add anything,I agree that it has two different stages.but first stage is what I like the most but unfortunately it lasts just half an hour and then shifts to milder stage(hubby dislikes it’s first stage but claims after half an hour it’s not that bad).first stage is about sweet mandarin orange blended with intense patchouli.it’s sharp and sweet and tangy and has very good sillage.chanel coco mad has the same sharp opening stage but not identical to a trained nose.it’s less syrupy sweet, more fruity/citrusy with a little less intense patch.
Second stage of miss dior 2012 is a milder stage.it has moderate sillage at it’s best and isn’t much sweet or sharp anymore.both patchouli and orange calm down a bit and give place for other notes to showup.rose, jasmine and musk are all there but so well blended that you can like this perfume even if you usually dislike rose, jasmine or musk.it’s softer and more grown-up in this stage and has a classy even a sensual vibe.this stage iis what sticks around for another 5,6 hours on my skin.chanel coco mad has also a softer stage but not identical.fruity/citrusy accord in chanel lasts longer and makes it’s age younger in some people’s eyes.it’s softer stage has chanel’s signature.a clean jasmine-white musk-a hint of soft vanilla combo which gradually covers citrusy patchouli and other florals.I like both of them and none of them can replace the other one for me
Miss dior 2012 which has absolutely nothing to do with first vintage miss dior,is a highly versatile perfume in my eyes while vintage miss dior wasn’t easy to wear IMO,actually I don’t like that one,it has too much of a retro chypre vibe for me.comparing miss dior 2012 with 2005 version(which was first miss dior
