Inverse Kylie Minogue for men of Kylie Minogue

Share:

Description

Kylie Minogue presents her first perfume for men. It is strong, persistent and full of self-esteem, but also sensual and emotional. This game of contrasts shows a man with a lot of contradictions. The point of this fragrance is to show man who is looking for a fragrance appropriate for daily use, but also for evenings out.

Kylie states that it is quite natural that the collection gets the first masculine representative after several perfumes for women. Her world is full of handsome men who want to forget stereotypes and choose something completely unconventional.

Very seductive Inverse is the perfect choice for charismatic man, and it receives self-confidence and masculinity from hot amber aromas. Top notes encompass aromatic accords of lavender mixed with hot spices (coriander, cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and star annis). Sweet and fresh mandarin which gives juiciness to the opening stands in contrast to spices. A heart hides nutmeg combined with Tonka from Venezuela and velvety heliotrope inviting us for sweet moments. Base notes introduce labdanum, cedar, amber and seductive patchouli which all together leave rich and timeless elegance. Inverse is intensive, funny and sexy, dedicated to each man strong enough to stay true to himself!

Inverse, besides name and composition, shows the opposites presented on the flacon. Innovative design of the rectangular flacon is crowned with a metal stopper. What attracts attention are differently created front and back side i.e. light and dark side, which reflect the theme of the fragrance, its contrasts: gentle and strong, day and night. Purple fluid in the bottle contributes to its modern design.

Fragrance Inverse arrives on the market in August 2009, in amount of 50 ml EDT. Advertising face on photographies next to Kylie is Andres Segura Velencoso.
The nose behind this fragrance is Rodrigo Flores-Roux.

This, to my nose, is like a much softer hybrid of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male and Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million.
If you take the mint and spiciness out of Le Male and replace it with the bubblegum sweetness of 1 Million, then lower the longevity and projection, you get Inverse by Kylie Minogue.
The scent itself is nothing new and exciting, but it is very likeable and extremely easy to wear.
The longevity isn’t actually that bad. I get around six hours on my skin, which I think is the average life expectancy for an EDT.
My main issue with this is the projection. It’s fairly noticeable for about fifteen to thirty minutes then, sadly, it turns into a skin scent.
I think it would be quite difficult to overspray this fragrance.
A couple of reviewers have described this as being like a lighter version of Elizabeth Taylor’s Passion For Men and I do agree with that comparison.
It hasn’t got the dark edge and boldness that Passion For Men has though.
I personally both of those fragrances to be quite unisex, but Inverse is probably more feminine that Passion For Men.
This fragrance is actually quite decent when you take the extremely affordable price into consideration. The Kylie Minogue range to me are a bit more interesting than most other celebrity fragrances on the market.
If you’re a fan of 1 Million or Le Male but perhaps find them a bit too strong and bold to wear casually, then this could be a good alternative for you.

This is a great sexy evening scent. It’s really warm and spicy. I just got Versace Blue Jeans and I must say this smells almost exactly the same. I’m not complaining though since it’s almost as if I have 2 bottles of the same delicious juice now. It’s a great fragrance even though it’s not really original.

For those of you old enough to remember, this is like a much lighter version of the original Elizabeth Taylor’s Passion for Men. It also seemed to me that this fragrance marked the point where Coty seemed to give up on Kylie’s perfumes and just began to roll them out with minimal advertising, presumably until her contract is up.
It’s a real shame because there was a point there where I really felt she was going to bring something new to the perfume game. Now it’s just a bit of same old, same old every 12 months or so.

This is a very easy scent to wear. Light,Clean & Masculine. Ideal for daywear to the office or just casual wear. I agree with cmecca1990… I also get the amber note coming through quite dominantly with a gentle shadow of lavender and star anise in the background. Kylie has done us guys proud. I love it!!! 🙂

Love this – surprisingly for a celebrity scent, a sweet vanilla/orange pleasant spicy oriental thats lasts a while and the sillage is good. I get a creamy tobacco-like and coconut note in the drydown – it’s one the best of the celebrity fragrances and it has a lot of character.

Nothing special, little bit same like Elizabeth Taylor Passion for men.

INVERSE opens with a clean, tart and refreshing blend of lavender and coriander, before quickly settling into a spicy warmth.
On me the cinnamon note over takes the most of the other spices and florals – not that I’m complaining as I love cinnamon – except for a hint of nutmeg and star anise.
The strong cinnamon notes stays though the base too, so I could only get a hint of cedar and amber. This is another plus for me as the patchouli note is hidden.
I found INVERSE to have a lively personality, hence it’s much more enjoyable then Kylie’s fragrances for women. Although INVERSE is the first EDT for men under the Kylie Minogue brand, I’d actually say that the fragrance is unisex (Kylie’s sister Dannii has said that she wears INVERSE herself).
As you’ll expect for a Kylie/Coty collaboration, the staying power is not good. It outlasts her womens releases, but not by much.

It reminds me a Prada Amber young, more pop and happy. Wonderful! I love it!

I took a big chance on this – I have a boyfriend with a very choosy taste… Not only I bought anosmic on description, but also for another person (dangerous business….).
I examined the notes of the few perfumes he wore over the last 5 years, and then searched by notes.
This is a winner !!!! The lavender is very pronounced, and the combination of scents is fantastic, recommended for lavender-cinnamon-spice lovers.

I bought for my husband 50ml for a very good price. I didn´t expect that Kylie can create a good scent because her female perfumes are awfull. But Inverse is very masculine, sexy and worth to buy. The most I smell incense but it´s not in a piramide.

If you’re a fan of Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million and Diesel’s Plus Plus then it’s a safe bet that you’ll be a fan of this. Inverse successfully combines the spicy, blood orange notes of the former with the fruity milkyness of the latter to create a great smelling budget scent. It’s not a very masculine fragrance by any means though; so if you’re only into macho powerhouses then this probably isn’t for you.

Fot it’s price it’s a steal. Really nice, modern scent with good longevity. Pure pleasure…

Amazing and ultra modern fragrance for real men. Very masculine, good projection and longevity. Very noticible cinnamon and lavander, nutmeg and peppers can be scent. I just loved.

The beginning is very spicy. Mandarin, cinnamon, star anise, and ofcourse peppers.
I do detect some florals in there trying to soften up, but I get even more resins and woods in the base. Though it is a surprisingly nice scent (I expected it to be rubbish) I’m not sure I would pay too much for it, but it does make very good use for a casual, everyday fragrance, so you should definitely try it with low expectations or you will not like it

Surprise – the only fragrance for man launched by Kylie is the only fragrance launched by her, that I like 🙂
Defenitly tendences of unisex, though I would much more prefer it on a man, since I think the spices would become more prominent and sexy whereas on me it was just nice and subtle.
If I see it on sale somewhere I will buy it immediately, so that when I have an oppurtunity to “gift” it to my BF! That way I can enjoy it to the fullest (and sneak some too)… 😉
THE SCENT itself is a sweet nutmeg/vanilla with a bit labdanum – the topnotes fade in a whiff, almost unnoticed. Who doesn’t have the opportunity to test it: imagine the nutmeg/vanilla combo of “The Body Shop”-shower gel (going by the very same name) and add labdanum and a wee bit of heliotrope (gotta love it) in imagination – e voilà! c’est INVERSE.
Good job Kylie – almost gave up on you (perfume-vise)…

At first whiff my reaction was ”A masculine? Are you kidding me?” Inverse has a very pronounced feminine touch, which actually is one of its great qualities once you accept it. The same goes for its very synthetic feel – this is not a classical symphony for your nose, it’s first rate techno dance pop and extremely enjoyable as such.
After the opening lavender blast has calmed down, you are ready to enjoy a wonderful milky/creamy sweetness that feels both warm and cold at the same time. Impressive. And no problems with longevity here – it easily lasts a whole evening on my skin.
A class act – especially for a celebrity scent. It smells expensive and sophisticated (but can be found extremely cheap), it’s unisex without being bland and I love it!

Light, sexy, and lasting longer than some reviews suggest, this is my first new perfume for some time. I have just started wearing it and find it alluring and quite exciting. I can understand why many women love to wear this too, it’s almost as if it makes you find yourself more sexy and that can only be a good thing. The fragrance is not in any way overpowering and reminds you from time to time that you are wearing it with wafts of subtle romance. This is not a scent that will turn heads as you walk into the room but it will slowly ingratiate itself into any company with those subconscious sexy undertones.

Very surprising ! Women could also wear it (and I usually think that women must wear women perfumes, never men perfumes). Spicy but not too much, a bit sexy, warm but it doesn’t last. Please Kylie : make a perfume which lasts !

To me this smells just like a man has just stepped out of the shower – minty and soapy. I absolutely love it and picked up a bottle for an absolute steal. I wear it myself as it’s an easy masculine for girls I think. A really genuinely clean but interesting scent.

I will simply say I think this is BRILLIANT and I LOVE it. It comes into it’s own hours after application. Despite what many others have said, this lasts all day on me. Well done!

Im really impressed with this one, its kinda my signature becuase not many people own it, so you wont smell a lot of it around, and it belongs to my most favorite group, that being oriental, just after spraying you get a very refreshing tart lavander, it stays a couple of minutes then takes a backseat, its still there but over the top i get cardamom and cinamon, within about 20 minutes it deepens and takes sweetness from anise, then there is a wonderful condensed milk smell that makes an entrance (I say condenced milk as it is a sweet milky smell), its very mouthwatering and delicious, then you get the tonka bean, and a hint of amber, i have to say its the most expensive smelling celebrity scent ive ever smelt, and its far from expensive, i just got two bottles for £10!!, longevity its moderate at 4-6 hours on me, and the silliage is actually quite good, usualyy i put on four sprays, two on the neck and one on each wirst, its definately one you should try, think of prada amber pour homme, jean paul gaultier le male and thierry mugler a*men and youll have something like inverse, loooovee itt!!!!

It was a blind buy (the shop had no tester) and I didn’t regret it.
At Rossmann it was on sale for 11 $.
Definitely a unisex fragrance. A real oriental but it’s not heavy, just ambery sweet + remarkable cinnamon (without many citrus) and it ends powdery and lasts all day. On my skin it’s very close to Gaultier 2 but a bit more masculine and more complex. I will keep it only for special occasion not for everyday ’cause it’s very intimate, I think.
Kylie said: it’s “for the men in my life, who, as you know are complex, colorful characters.”
It will be a Limited Edition,so it’s worth to try.

I like this one a lot. It is by no means a ‘groundbreaking’ fragrance, but it does ‘tick all the boxes’. It is warm and soapy to start with. It is rich and sweet with a variety of spices. Thankfully, as far as the sweetness is concerned, Inverse does not go too far like Joop and Opium pour Homme do. The citrus does not dominate, rather it is balanced with the pepper and cinnamon.
As the fragrance evolves on the skin and the basenotes become more dominant I detect what seems to be a tobacco-like note (even though it is not listed). The cedar and patchouli do not really make an appearance.
Inverse lasts quite well on me and a small squirt on the back of my hand was easily evident after 3 hours.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

Yes, it reminds me Opium also. But even more it reminds me Original 1910 by Everlast. These have several same notes in them. I would say Inverse is better. The downside… it seems that the longevity and overall scent strength is not so good. Have to give it a few more testings though.
UPDATE: doesn’t last! 4-5 hours only. Stays very close to the skin. Pity.
1.5/5 (mainly because there’s literally no sillage)

This smells so similar to ‘calum’ by calum best /or ‘1 million ‘ by paco rabanne – i dont like either of them . very sweet and sickly yuk! i bought the bottle a few days ago and will be throwing it out shortly -total waste of money

I tested this today as it’s exclusive to the perfume shop. And I must say that it is very expensive smelling for a celebrity scent.
At first spray it smells like Prada Amber Pour Homme, very sexy and very masculine. But thats as far as the comparison goes, the appeal is in the dry down. It has a gorgeous slight leathery, soapy, clean, snuggly smell.
A definate must buy for anyone who is into clean soapy scents.

I cant wait for this to come out, most of the notes are like orada amber pour homme (whichh i love) and the fluid is actually purple like amber pour homme maybe it will b similar but with a different twist, ooohh i cant wait!!!
