UdMachine – :
Hombre de Oro is a bit of a lightweight combination of a less complicated Le Male and a stripped down 1 Million as the name would imply. It lasts about three to four hours on my skin without overspraying. To nearly get the effect of a Le Male or 1 Million, you have to spray at least 8 times. And I’m not really an oversprayer. I did that today at 2:30 and by 8:00, I still could smell it. While If I did my usual up to 5 sprays, it would die off three to four hours later with a quick burn from moderate sillage to skin scent in thirty minutes.
I really get four notes from Hombre de Oro. I get some pepper in the open but that is dominated by cinnamon seeping in from the mid. I then get a woody vanilla from the base though the cinnamon is still kind of there.
I find Hombre de Oro would work in club settings if you overspray. Dates it could but watch out especially if you fear the game theory of fragrance dating of “my date will think of his/her ex with this scent” due to the two scents this draws inspiration from. It’s also light enough to work in a work setting if you don’t overspray it.
Overall, I want to like Hombre de Oro. It is a lighter 1 Million and less harsh in the vein of Antonio Banderas The Secret, mixed with Le Male or the other way around, a lighter Le Male with some similarities to a less harsh 1 Million. However it is one that you have to bathe in to really get good performance and this is even after using its bodywash. Coming from a hybrid of two well known beasts, is a HUGE knock. It’s close to a like but the performance is what kills it for me, I rate Hombre de Oro a 5.6 out of 10.
If you really want a fragrance that does what this does, go with Armaf’s Tag-Him Prestige. It better captures the mix of a 1 Million with Le Male tendencies and you don’t need to overspray it to get a reaction or longevity from it.
