Description

A very interesting edition announced for September 2012 and aimed at younger audience arrives from the Balenciaga Company. Balenciaga, in collaboration with Coty, Prestige and IFF created the new fragrance FLORABOTANICA which attracts attention with its modern, attractive flacon and unusual ingredients.

The composition was developed by perfumers of the house of IFF, Olivier Polge and Jean-Christophe Herault, who composed it of such accords as mint, carnation, hybrid rose, caladium leaves, amber and vetiver. It was envisaged that the composition would offer floral character, which is also very seductive and its flowers will not be just beautiful, but also very dangerous.

The advertising campaign is decorated with three metal sculptures resembling the Ghesquière floral print created a few years ago. Photos for the campaign were taken by Steven Meisel, and the advertising face is young actress Kristen Stewart. She is wearing a dress from the floral collection and holding her hands in her pockets.

Florabotanica will be available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP accompanied by perfumed body care products—body lotion and shower gel.

I really feel OTHER users would LOVE this fragrance – esp if you love roses and vetiver – if so, I would STRONGLY recommend. I think it could almost be a unisex fragrance as well – would smell lovely on both women and men.
This is not a MEEK fragrance. The staying power is awesome.
I had this and wanted to love it. Sadly, I felt the vetiver was WAAAY to strong on me. 🙁 The rose was lovely, but only for a moment. I imagine this would be lovely somewhere it is cold and NOT humid. I owned this in a very humid city, and one spray was headache inducing.

Green fresh flowers. Has some depth and staying power. Broken fresh rose stems, a hint of petals and a little fresh powder and amber at the base.
Wearing today on a Summer’s morning and enjoying it. It has good linear longevity. I have a small bottle and will wear periodically. I wouldn’t cry if the planet ran out of it though.
Somehow it reminds me of some of the lancome summer fragrances. The ‘O de’ range. Definitely a summer perfume.

This summer’s quest is to find a fresh wild rose with blackcurrant leaf after the rain (I mean, how hard can it be?). Somebody from fragcom recommended I try Florabotanica as it has a fresh green garden feel about it. Although I didn’t get the blackcurrant leaf I am looking for, I am enjoying the other green notes that are quite realistic in this fragrance.
I cannot say there is mint as such, rather just fresh green leaves, cannabis is adding a hint of bitterness and makes the green notes sound quite natural. The rose is everpresent and depending on the ambient temperature it develops either into a wet fresh rose bush in a slightly abandoned garden overgrowing with weeds; or into some rose-water loukoum dusted with icing sugar set on a plate on a wrought iron garden table.
The scent in not overwhelming, office friendly, naturally fit for spring and summer.
Longevity is quite impressive for such a fresh scent, I keep getting whiffs of bitter rose after 7-8 h.
Ended up with a partial 30 ml bottle because why not?
Overall, I think this is a very well-executed example of a designer fragrance and worth a test if you like fresh rose scents.

Ugh. I get none of the mentioned notes… peppery smokey. Must be my chemistry and for some strange reason it reminds me of Rive Gauche, which is another i really tried to like…

I’m gonna be real. I used to hate this perfume so much. But now it’s one of my go to everyday perfume. Guess my olfactory changed n so does my body chemistry

A fresh basil rose with very good longevity (6+ hours on me) and moderate sillage. Perfect for summer wear. Smells like a morning walk in a garden at the countryside in which we can find rose bushes and all sorts of greens and vegetables.

What a delightful and extraordinary fragrance this is ! For me, it’s the best green-rose on the market. Dewy, fresh and elegant. Very easy to wear with at least 5 hours of longevity and with heavy sillage on my skin.
Florabotanica was my signature for 3 years and I have to thank GabbieSmithWindley for reminding me this long lost friend at the back of closet during a swap by asking for it. I’ve send her one with few others and now my back-up bottle is in circulation.
I’m wearing it today and enjoying it immensely.

peppery green rose stems spritzed with rose water. POWERFUL

I’m going to add more confusion here.
While I do get a dewy rose and some greens, I don’t get mint or carnation. I swear I smell violet. Not candied but green growing violet. I smell a cool grassy bank. I enjoy these light airy type of scents, this won’t offend anybody or become cloying.
I really don’t smell most of the notes listed but that’s ok.
As for Burberry Body, meh there’s a sweet rose but Body has an underlying musk or chemical smell that gives me headaches. This one is a lot more “au natural”-feeling. The description of ” also being dangerous” is silly! This one is innocent not sexy, slutty, or skanky.

I powered through almost 100ml of this last summer.
It’s a grassy hempy herbal, and slightly peppery (carnation?) scent which makes me feel fresh, quirky and intriguing.
Maybe a medicinal touch in there too, like a dental surgery.
Not very floral imo – possibly a faint smell like rain on red rose petals.
Nothing soapy detected, like others claim.
Definitely for the daytime, and most appropriate for the office.
I won’t buy again immediately – I have so many others to use up first – but it was definitely a different and enjoyable scent to share the season with.

I feel like Florabotanica has been on my want list forever, so I finally added this to my collection. On first application this reminds me of a rose-scented lotion that my mother used when I was a child back in the 1970’s, which was a subtle creamy rose smell. Then after about half an hour after applying this, a little bit of soapiness comes out. So then this becomes a soft soapy rose. I don’t pick up any mint here and I don’t pick up the cannabis nor the amber at all. I pick up a little touch of the carnation and vetiver, but for me, this is mainly a soft soapy rose scent. I certainly don’t dislike it, but I can’t quite hit the like button. Maybe I expected more with this. But it’s pretty generic run of the mill average soft soapy rose, one that has been done many, many times. Not bad by any means, but does not stand out and is not memorable (unless you dislike or are allergic to rose or the other notes). Just very “meh” to me. Moderate sillage and moderate very long lasting longevity. Nice enough, if rather unremarkable.

I wish I could smell the same thing as is described in the positive reviews here. Perhaps my nose is not sophisticated enough. But to me – tested on paper and skin, assessed from opening to base – this only smells like an old school bar of soap, the kind my grandmother always had.
When I put in a real effort I can detect some extremely faint green notes but the soap accord overpowers this easily. Confirmed by friends and colleagues too.
    A bar of soap.

Love, love! Had a sample some years ago and got really intrigued by this modern and somewhat familiar smell! Took some time for me to realise that its quite similiar to Rive Gauche by YSL! And then the stripes!
This spring I got myself a FB of 100 ml!
Classic cool minty rose for the summer to come!

What a pretty rose fragrance which starts off with the greens and stems. Then these settle leaving a realistic sweet pretty pink smelling rose bush with the scent of leaves softened after a rain. Really like this!
This should have been called Rosabotanica!!!
Update: reminds me of Chloe de Roses. It is quite citrussy powder strong rose on me and lasts long.

This fragrance is a very cool floral. This fragrance is like walking through a flower garden in the early morning just after the sun has just come up so it is still cool outside. I definitely get floral notes and green elements. However, it does not smell like a typical generic floral. I think this smells fairly unique which I enjoy as so many designer fragrances smell like each other nowadays. This is in my top three favorite designer fragrances. Also, this fragrance has fairly good projection on me so not a skin scent. This fragrance has AMAZING longevity on me. I get 12+ hours out of this fragrance which is amazing for a lighter floral fragrance which I find don’t normally have the best longevity. The bottle design is pretty unique too. It kind of reminds me of ‘Cat in the Hat’ but not in a bad way. I actually like the design. I find it eye-catching and not boring.

Great perfume, it last all day and well into the evening. It’s great for work, weekends and date night. It does remind me of Chole de Roses (another one of my all time faves), except this scent has more body and depth to it.

Finally nabbed this one for a great price at Tj Maxx today. Yea ! I had smelled it before at Sephora, and remembered liking it,but was not impressed with Rosabotantica.
Florabotanica I would say is a semi-herbal/aromatic,with a little “green” thrown in. It was love at first spritz for me. I think it is great for the weather here in Florida. A nice everyday scent…non-offensive…clean and has a certain “freshness” about it..then also the herbally/fresh spicy floating around too.

I really like this fragrance! The mint, rose, and carnation combination is so cool, green, and refreshing. This will be great to wear during the hot summer. The notes above say cannabis, but Balenciaga’s website says caladium leaf. The vetiver along with hemp leaves or caladium leaves or whatever other plant note is actually in this gives the fragrance a wonderful earthy woodiness. Great stuff!

I was debating whether to get this or Midnight Rose by Lancôme and I didn’t want to blind buy so I got a tester from both to spray on my arms and after half an hour I just couldn’t stop sniffing the Florabotanica!! My husband liked it too so I bought it. After two hours my arm still smelt amazing. Definitely heavy on the rose notes and the musk comes through in a subtle way. Surprised to see cannabis and mint as notes but I do not smell them at all! I don’t think it’s just for the younger audience and as I’m over 40, I’m definitely owning it!!
After reading one of the comments here I’m glad it’s not discontinued after being told by the staff at a perfume stockist that Balenciaga no longer produce it.

I bought a rollerball of this yesterday for 10.00 at Marshall’s…score!! I love it for spring. But when I very first put it on I don’t smell much. Very weird. Then bam!! It starts blossoming into an amazing floral!!!! So far I’m loving it. And for what I paid it’s amazing!! Longevity not known yet. But right now I can smell me all over the place so the silage is I’m guessing pretty good. We’ll see as the day goes on !!

I bought this because Draya Michele was saying how it smells “oh soo good” blue blah blah… I bought it ,not really a fan of florals. Its bearable for me but I don’t wear it every day but when I do wear it out everyone loves it. It smells good but It smells as though someone took me and locked me up in the Botanical Gardens. If that’s your kind of thing DO YOU BOO-BOO! because this is for you.

Opens with a delicate rose and you start to worry thinking ‘Oh no, it’s just rose!!’ but then drifts off into a clever concoction of something that is so clean smelling, feminine and intoxicating that you can’t prize your nose away from your wrist. What does it smell like? It smells like you’ve just got out of the shower and washed yourself in something very expensive. A delicate floral but not too sweet, a little earthy like rain on flowers in the middle of a forest. It’s clean but with a naughty undertone. I like it because you won’t forget the smell which makes it unique and you just can’t not like it. Worth every penny you pay for it. Definitely lasts but not cloying. Love it.

One cant really write anything bad about this perfume, however… i blind bought it blinded by the positive reviews and the fact most users voted this is green and aromatic combo (which i love)
Unfortunately its plain rose to me, i dont smell anything else, its a very realistic and beautiful red rose, to me its boring cause i am from Bulgaria and this smell literally is everywhere in products around me- you can see how this is a very wrong blind buy for me 🙂 I cant really say anything bad about this product as a perfume, its good quality.
I am keeping it, hoping in warmer weather it would develop surprisingly green and aromatic
EDIT: absolutely gorgeous in the summer heat!! Very fresh green and still remains feminine, the way coco mademoiselle does(they are not identical. just create similar freshness).I am so glad i kept it.

I don’t smell mint at all. It’s a nice floral soap but not for perfume. It’s not fresh enough and not rose enough for what I am looking for.

I finally received a reply from Coty, and am happy to report that my local perfume stockist was wrong in telling me this was being discontinued. Oh well, I now have three 100ml bottles in stock because I went all Doomsday and hoarded so I’d survive the Apocalypse. That’s not a bad thing since it’s my favourite fragrance since the 1980’s when I received my first grown up perfume. The stockpile should last me another few decades.

My absolute favourite scent now. I can’t stop sniffing myself when I’m wearing it (OK, I know that sounds weird, but as fellow Fragranticans you get me I’m sure). I was first attracted to the beautiful packaging – and the fragrance truly does reflect the modern depiction of ornamental flowers leaves and vines. I agree with VQueenLeigh. There just isn’t anything on the market like this. It is dense without being overpowering, and the rose and carnation mix always gets me in. I think the magic ingredient for me is the mint. If you haven’t seen this incredibly beautiful flacon, take a look at it in bright light. It has an almost prism effect. I’ve got it sitting in pride of place on a mirror so the various colours in the flacon bounce around like the visual equivalent of an echo. Gosh, I sound poetic. That’s what Florabotanica does to me. A perfume buyer for a local supplier said this is discontinued. I have had no reply from Coty which owns Balenciaga. Does anyone know? I’ll be hoarding gallons of it if this is true.

Bought this for my mum a couple of months ago, and as an avid floral scent fan, she loved it very much. It lasts long enough for about 8hrs on average, which is good quality in my opinion. I would recommend it to anyone who loves floral scents! Thumbs up to Balenciaga for this one!

Intoxicating, beautiful fresh garden of rose, mint, cannabis buds, fresh grass juice left on the shoes. Clean and dirty ( earth ) at the same time!
    I love ❤️This one!

One of the best mainstream designer frags ever in my opinion. I wore this religiously when I got it a few years ago and it was my signature for a while. I definitely get the grassy notes from this, to me it smells like a garden or a forest after it’s rained. It’s fresh but has a lot of depth, the amber and mint make it a very interesting composition alongside the floral notes. The bottle is so simple and chic also. Just fab

  32. :

This is better than Rosabotanica. It is green and a bit grassy but doesn’t smells like medicine, like Rosabotanica did. Apart from that, this one is softer, cleaner and sweeter.
I was afraid the Cannabis note would be too strong, but it isn’t. It is noticeable, but you won’t smell like you smoke hemp
My only complaint is that it is very weak.
Anyway, this is not something i would buy, because this is not my kind of fragrance, but it is nice.

Florabotanica proves that rose fragrances do not have to be ‘old-ladyish’. This is a very fresh and youthful rose. It is somewhat minty in the beginning, which gives it freshness and transparency, and then rose and carnation take over. This is aimed at young women who have not had much experience with heady florals yet and who can appreciate this soft minty rose. Oh, and the bottle is absolutely stunning.

I got a sample when it first came out. It smelled fresh and floral at first but turned weird and artificial like my mom’s powder or lipstick when I was little. I kept the sample mostly for the uniquely designed vial and box.
Fast forward to 2017. I found this little guy in my sample stash. This time I appreciated its uniqueness and even the powder and lipstick tone, and found it much more appealing. Immediately I went online to check the prices and added it to my mental wish list. Interestingly how our preference could change over time.
What do you know, within a week after my revisit of the Florabotania sample, I saw a bottle at Marshalls for only $40! And home it came with me. (There’s also Balenciaga B for the same price. Should I go back??). I still lean towards fresher scents. For the mild California winter, Florabotanica seems like my type of year-round perfume. With my fully bottle, I will be able to fully test it in the middle of winter or summer. Yay!
I like it that it is a rose floral that smells somewhat “green” without heavy woodsy notes. I also wish I got some mint out of it. Florabotanica is a well blended scent that is quite unique. It is marketed towards the younger crowd as the face is Kristen Stewart. And many reviewers consider it “fresh.” But to me it is not that fresh mainly because of the 60s/70s/80s compact powder smell, and I wouldn’t have liked it in my 20s or younger.

I love this fragrance… except it makes me crave gin and tonic! There is something equally refreshing and intoxicating that is remeniscent of a g&t. Perfect summer fragrance that I constantly receive comments on, yet am not overwhelmed by.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

On my skin this is just a powdery rose, almost identical to Chloe EDP, although Florabotanica’s sillage and longevity are superior. It is fresh, clean, herbal, very pleasant to wear. However, I was a little disappointed that I got almost no mint and definitely no cannabis.
Researching for official info, I found this on their website. (spoiler: if Florabotanica has, in fact, this elusive cannabis note, then they are keeping it a secret…)
“The Vetiver, Amber and Caladium Leaf accord to create a resonance of mossy and mysterious dark wood. And the Rose, Carnation and Mint accord like an exhilarating note with juvenile freshness. It should be specified that we are not talking about those extremely well-known roses from the Vulgaris Rosacea family. It is a hybrid rose born of the olfactory imagination of our two orchestrators. We cannot reveal all the secrets of these two floral, alchemists, but the Experimental Rose finds its origins in opulent Turkey.”

I blind bought this perfume. I was choosing between Florabotanica and of course, Rosabotanica. I judged by the name and said to myself “I don’t need another rose perfume” so I picked Florabotanica. Little did I know that Flora is faaar more rose fragrance than the other one. I’m not disappointed (although Rosabotanica is on my wish list) as this is such an amazing rosy and yet kind of spicy scent, but not in a heavy way. It is a unique, delightful, long lasting fragrance. And imo best rose perfume.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

This is certainly a very unexpected scent. I was prepared for something completely different when i purchased this, but in saying that, i wasn’t dissapointed. A really unanticipated scent is a nice change every now and then. I was prepared for more floral than greens, but it’s very fresh and naturalistic. It also contains florals (particularly rose) and woody notes, but the greenery is the defining factor in the fragrance. It’s very soft and minty. Its the kind of fragrance I’d imagine may have a calming effect on a person, (and not just because people are claiming it contains weed either!) it’s a very relaxing, soft minty green scent.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

Florabotanica is a contemporary rose perfume. It’s very cold and aloof. It’s very leafy but I can’t distinctively smell the mint or cannabis

  41. :

    5 out of 5

I get a ton of compliments when I wear this one but it is my go-to floral. A modern, complex scent with strong staying power but light and airy at the same time.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I completely agree with the review below by supertw94109 in that this perfume has 2 distinct phases. I think this is why I bought it in error, when I meant to get Rosabotanica ! Anyway, I like the initial fresh transparent phase, but I don’t enjoy the second creamy soapy “lotiony” part. The two parts seem disjointed (imo) – & kind of unrelated to each other. There’s something in the second phase that just doesn’t sit well with me (I can’t put my finger on a specific note, but I think it may be the carnation/vetiver). It definitely morphs into “thick” – & becomes a little bit cloying on me. I’ve had my bottle for a while now & I still really don’t know what to make of Florabotanica, It’s not bad, but I find it confusing & a bit of an “acquired taste”. Rose note is also not a major player to my nose, either. I keep re-testing it, but I really think this is a strange one!
Edit: Tested again (for the umpteenth time) – I can’t get the “reminds me of” button above to work, but in the dry down this really reminds me of Niki de St Phalle EDT. Florabotanica is by no means a bad perfume, but just not for me so it’s headin’ out the door!

  43. :

    4 out of 5

    This fragrance is magnificent!
The rose accord is perfect and the green notes are a perfect compliment to it. There is a sweet powdery note that makes it quite feminine though. I hoped this was a genderless rose fragrance like Tom Ford’s Cafe Rose for instance but I don’t think this is wearable by a man… Or by me at least.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

To be honest I mainly tested Florabotanica because I was curious about a mainstream fragrance with a cannabis note. Now I researched it and found out there is no cannabis, but caladium in the heart! A completely different plant!
I do understand where the mistake is coming from, though, as this fragrance has herbal notes that aren’t that far away from weed. But don’t worry, they’re not too close either, this doesn’t smell inappropriate.
It’s a fresh and green scent, green in a herbal way as opposed to grassy or floral green. The cool scent of mint is definitely there, also spicy carnation and rose. The rose is fresh and juicy, no soap or jam in sight, and it’s about the only note that gives this perfume a bit of feminine sweetness. Unfortunately the rose wears off after a few hours, I would like it to stay longer.
The basenotes are rather weak. I think this is okay for such a refreshing summery fragrance, better than a warm base that stays all day and gets annoying in the heat, but this also means that the drydown is just a faint hint of fresh greens and you might want to spray more than once a day.
This is a unique scent that makes a modern impression on me. It’s not a romantic or girly girl fragrance, despite the rose. In my mind it would be perfect for a feminine, but cool and adventurous woman, or even a bit of a tomboy. And it’s clearly something for the warmer days.
I would wear this, but I think I’d not buy it. It would have suited me well a few years ago, but I didn’t know Florabotanica back then and wore Especially Escada – another fresh rose scent, albeit much more girly, that I loved but that might have been a bit too proper for me back then.

The most beautiful sweet, green rose sent. It has found its way to my top 5. I found this one most interesting between the two; Rosabotanica and Florabotanica & I reach for this one most often because I live in a hot climate. I find it refreshing and interesting. I’m also happy about the sillage and the longevity, people always ask what I’m wearing when I’m wearing this. My love for Florabotanica has driven me to search for other green sweet fragrances.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

A class act with a spiky, experimental edge. It’s green enough not to cloy – there’s some serious trampled fresh grass and crushed leaves in there – with an apparently out-of-place rose twining its way through the centre of everything, without becoming sickly or ingratiating.
I am not a classic rose fan and don’t like anything ‘girly’ or ‘pastel’, but wanted something to get through the summer that wasn’t just the same old citrus / neroli thing – and this came up trumps. This stuff is superbly refreshing – it will make you feel cool and calm even in baking heat and suffocating humidity. I’ve not yet tried it in colder weather and doubt it would appeal to me much when the temperature’s under 20C – but for the hotter months this is a definitely worth trying. It also manages some weird alchemy of keeping its presence alive and felt for HOURS – far better longevity and sillage than anything else I have at the fresh/breezy/airy end of the scents box. To me, still detectable after 5-6 hours though it lies close to the skin.
Definitely more feminine than masculine imho, but certainly weird and skanky enough to smell niche rather than just being some delicate classic floral. If you want something that’s weird, but not TOO weird, just enough to be fascinating, this might do the job.

  47. :

refreshing and summery indeed .though a bit too sour to my taste at least at the beginning. i thought maybe my teenaged daughter will like it because of it’s “freshness” . but she said it is too harsh for her. it is not a cheap perfume that is why i expected to get a reasonable return for the money i paid. but the sillage is poor and after 1-2 hours you can notice the traces of the scent only if you sniff it hard right from your wrist. in my opinion a good perfume is supposed to leave an nice aura around the wearer .this one fails to do this.

Rose and green tea. Doesn’t sound like a winner, but it is absolutely hitting the spot in 40 degree, humid as hell Shanghai these past few days. Thank goodness for the 5ml sample I packed on a whim to try out without much expectation. It’s been a complete reviver for me when I’m starting to melt.
This is an extreme floral but manages to stay light and super refreshing due to the green vibes, which are more tea than mint to me. The dry down is light, pretty amber and as others have said, smells like an expensive spa body lotion. Gorgeous. I’ll be purchasing a full bottle for sure.

I bought this fragrance on a whim as it was reduced and I have to say, I was surprised by it. It didn’t capture me immediately, the opening notes were a little abrupt but it mellowed out beautifully and I found it very wearable day to day. There’s almost a note of green tea about it; a minty freshness that is perfect for springtime.

I do love this one. It is my year-round signature.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

This perfume actually has two distinct stages the first being a fresh, transparent or watery florals and fruit with mint, this part is nice but doesn’t stand out that much. These notes then sort of disappear and coalesce into a thick, clean, floral, fruity, minty superior, high class hand lotion or body cream or face cream scent that lingers for a couple hours causing a delightful surprise to the wearer who will be sniffing their wrists in happiness to find out how this transformation happened.
This happened to me twice, once when I was trying perfume at a store and I memorized the location on my right wrist as Florabotanica vs other scents. I only remembered the last stage of the scent so when I bought the bottle weeks later and applied it, I actually was super disappointed and thought I bought the wrong perfume until the the second stage appeared. I love that comforting last stage it reminds me of my mom and her lotions and face creams when I was a kid.

This is lovely and absolutely modern. If it’s nodding to any other decade, I’d put it at the 90s. Like, if Romance had a daughter who went off to college this year getting a degree in women’s studies…here she is! For me, the rose, carnation, cannabis and mint are all noticeable but very blended. If you’re looking for something earthy and dank (which I also love), this is not it.
Kristin Stewart was a good choice of face for this! I would totally believe she wears this.

A bohemian – hippie 70s styling woman that loves dancing psychedelic songs….
Long thick hair, huge sunglasses cabana jeans and multicolor blouse…
I love this style as 70s is my decade and yes, I love this perfume that stands away on its own and far from all common vanilla, sweet and begging to please perfumes out there…
Update: This perfume never leaves my skin… I think needs something to tell me!
Upupdate: I get so many compliments! Bad is that I always share my perfumes to others – some people don’t and I hate this – so, now we are more than me wearing this perfume, not good when you want to feel and smell unique…

What a lovely bottle! A very greenish fragrance! It opens with powdery green notes. The smell is like leaves rubbed in the palm. It is a humid, fresh floral smell. Although mint is a listed note I can’t feel it at all. Maybe it is in the green mixture of leaves somewhere and my nose can’t divide them apart. This sharp green smell is accompanied all the way by the sweet amber note. Amber warms the composition and maintains a sweetness that goes perfectly with the green touch. You get a comfortable smell on the skin. Lasting power is very good. If you like floral green fragrances with a sweet amber touch than this is the one you must try.

Clean and beautiful perfume for women who prefer to associate themselves with the nature itself instead of imitating that they were born inside luxurious downtown interiors full of good dressed and cold hearted monsters. When I smell Florabotanica on my wife at her early 30s (in the car, at the countryside, during social events, etc), I can feel these fabulous aristocratic still open-minded roses mashing up with a whole woody spectre of hippyish wisdom which makes me feel like a romantic character of a talented teenage drama. The most sexy floral/herbal feminine combination yet experienced.

What Shasta said about smelling like pot.
In all the countless times I have worn it, I can not pick up that smell. I do know what marijuana smells like although I don’t use it. (I had to google to spell it right) I do grow herbs such as thyme, mint, rosemary, sage, and basil and can see how people might be mislead.
    Anyway, it’s fabulous.

Wow! I tried this in duty free without realizing it was a “women’s” fragrance (don’t love how perfume/cologne is gendered to begin with, but that’s another conversation), and it smells like a heavenly spicy green on me. The rose comes through naturally and not at all matronly on my skin, fortunately, and I’m really really loving this. Would have bought a bottle were it not at the outrageous duty free price. Totally obsessed!!

I like the top notes, but find it a little bit harsh ater ten minutes. Rose can sometimes have that effect, but I get the sense of a synthetic floral here – maybe peony or freesia?
The top notes remind me a bit of Baiser Vole in the green peepery carnation effect, but where Baiser Vole soon settles into a green-tinged peppery floral, rounded and softened with subtle vanilla, Flora Botanica becomes increasingly crisp.
I like crispness but not this slightly headachy effect, which reminds me of perfumes such as Dior’s Forever and Ever or Encre Noir Pour Femme (both of which feature freesia!) It could just be a sharp tea rose mind you.
The general association for me is spring-time bubble bath – very clean, soapy and floral.

Honestly, people need to stop with the “weed” smell reference. Anyone who has ever grown or been around “herb” plants know that marijuana leaves have a super mintyesque odor. Marijuana plants have a VERY strong distinct odor. When you dry it and prepare it for smoking that is when it gets that earthy skunky scent. This is just raw leaves. You may smell cannabis but you won’t sm
