Fiori Scuri translated from the Italian means Dark Flowers, and confusingly I find that this name is both accurate and deceptive all at once.
It is accurate in the sense that the floral components of this scent – and they are undoubtedly the fundamental elements in this fragrance – are indeed dark in colour. However I find the actual scent itself to be anything but dark. It is for me an aroma better described as opalescent, vital, dewy. The olfactory image is a whispered exhalation of a cottage garden during a sudden downpour, botanical life resplendent in spring fertility, the verdurous inhabitants unfurling their rain-showered blooms after the rain has fallen.
To my nose this is a very dewy, “wet” floral smell, that I find rich and strong in terms of the depth of the scent, yet in texture and aura it is for me soft, smooth and light. It makes me think of the lightest, softest shade of baby pink opaque silk, so pale as to be almost white. The damp, moist texture brings to mind an expensive luxury lotion, the kind that is both incredibly dense and silky smooth, but which glides over the skin like a satin veil. It is a sensation that I often find associated with rose-hyacinth pairings, particularly those that contain iris but lack the bitter green bite of galbanum.
For those looking for a reference, probably the closest thing I know to this is E.Coudray’s Jacinthe & Rose, which has a very similar feel in my experience. I would certainly recommend checking out the J&R if you enjoy this Fiori Scuri, because I find many commonalities between the two fragrances.
Despite my flowery (sic) descriptions of this perfume as being a palest pink, or dewy opalescence, please do not think that I am saying that it is pale or light in terms of longevity or sillage, for this is certainly not the case.
I find that it projects well, the first few hours especially it leaves a pleasing sillage trail and even in the drydown it hovers above the skin, ready to send pleasing wafts of scent as you move about. It lasts a good few hours on me too, and even longer on clothes, you would definitely get your moneys worth from this.
Although I am not one to ascribe to gender divisions, I would describe Fiori Scuri as an incredibly feminine scent. That is not to say it should only be worn by women, merely that the fragrance itself feels to me very feminine. It is also extremely elegant and as such would be suited to such occasions as spring and summer weddings, christenings, and formal events, as well as just for day to day wear. Definitely a warmer weather scent, spring and summer being the perfect time to wear this. Probably best suited for day wear, although it could work on a cooler summers evening.
In conclusion, this is a lovely scent, with enough complexity and depth to be interesting while still retaining a certain innocence. Lasts well, good sillage, and excellent value.

A brocade tapestry. Nuanced like moire silk and unusual.
A floral combination that goes beyond fresh and teeters on the line of ripe. Compliment getter and great value for money.

Very vintagey heavy and deep scent. It smells very dark and noir. I normally like all the florals that are supposedly in this juice but there is a lot more in there that I do not like. Seems to be pretty well done and a bargain at the list price, but just not for me.

I didn’t know this gem existed, until a fellow Fragrantican (thank you so much, drouhin!) gifted me with a generous sample.
This fragrance is seriously like nothing I have ever smelled/worn before. Quite difficult to describe but, if I were to summarize my feelings about it, it would be: “Baby scent”, powdery, soft, cuddly.
If I held in my arms a sleeping, freshly bathed baby, dressed in a cottony plush onesie, this would be the smell. My “babies” are in their 30s now but, thanks to Fiori Scuri, the good memories have flooded my mind… I could not stop sniffing my wrist!
I’m not sure if I’d call this as a “spring” scent, and have a feeling it would work best in a cooler weather – fall and winter, when it really has a chance to develop and shine.
On my skin, I’ve got a good dose of rose and carnation, and could also detect hyacinth. Iris and violet did not show up 😉
Longevity: a whole day (very rare on my skin) and I could still smell it next morning, and it was just as lovely as the day before.
Sillage: impressive but not “in your face”, 4+ inch, with nose-in-wrist the following morning.

It recalls night and darkness (even if it could be wore by day time).
It reminds me unreciprocated love and unattainable love story such as Romeo and Juliet (even if this scent could make somebody fall in love with you).
It’s like a bunch of desiccated flowers in a vase (even if is like wearing something in full bloom).
It’s DECADENT and different in its semplicity. It’s a meaningfull scent, but without the opulentness presumption.

A spicy carnation and rose are strongest to me. This is an odd scent, one I don’t care for in warm weather, but one I enjoy very much when the weather is cooler and its spicy quality, unusual in a pure floral, is easy to appreciate.

Looking forward to smelling it… I have a feeling I should have bought this instead of Legni fruttati (which I like, but not as much as I’d thought I would).
Ah, then again, I love L’Erbolario, and I would buy all of its perfumes if I could! Another one on my list is Vaniglia.

It is like no other i have had on my wrist! I love the simple yet intrigue of this elegant bouquet. The elixir does better than the perfume on my skin, but i will keep them both. people are always asking me what i am wearing- “Fiori Scuri” i say!

This simple bouquet of flowers truly evokes the epithet ‘dark’.
because of the strength of hyacinth it gives me a little headache, then off to clove’s spicy peppery touch with an oriental feel to it, plus the sense of powdery iris, so dusty and dark that it resembles moss.
Fiori Scuri (‘Dark Flowers’) would go perfectly with the ladies who love Victorian fashion, luxurious long skirts, pointy witches boots and lace parasols, so when they elegantly walk by, this floral scent that evokes the ancient and mystique lingers after them.
This is also the only odor that reminded me so strongly of the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi:
‘nothing lasts, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect.’
Fiori Scuri in me awakens melancholy and spiritual longing for the peaceful possession of it’s patina smell – scent of Miss Hawisham’s dusty flowers, a lover’s gift which she keeps, along with the memories of him.

One of the few L’Erbolario I appreciate on my skin. It’s a total floral, a little bit decadent, feminine and quite elegant.
