It’s like Ed Hardy Love & Luck and Lanvin L homme got married and gave birth to this fragrance.

So like everyone else here, I received a sample from FragranceNet. It has a fresh clean scent that reminds me of right after a shower. The smell is pleasant but its nothing special. Its definitely, like everyone else has said, generic. You could walk into a drugstore and find half a dozen cheap fragrances that are similar to exceptional.
That being said, it is pleasant and would likley be enjoyed by lots of people. It is also “office safe” and pretty cheap. So if you are looking for a cheap & pleasant (albeit boring) everyday type scent this is perfect.

FragranceNet sent me a sample. It smells super generic and I get the Lemon Pledge the first few seconds, but it quickly vanishes on my skin. I guess I’m the only weirdo here that loves it. Now, I love it as a smell, but not to the point of going ahead and buying it for $35.74 with the 35% discount. Maybe when it hits $25.
Not all ladies are the same, but a lot would like it I’m sure. It’s a safe scent for when you’re not sure what to wear. I like how it’s a skin fragrance like A&F Fierce. It doesn’t smell like Fierce but on the bottom when drying down, it has a tiny bit of that vibe. It is a male fragrance, but something about it makes it compatible with females. I think that’s my favorite part of it. It smells generic, yet, I’ve never owned anything like it.
EBYA has flowery and fruity notes that are very light. That’s nicely executed. To my nose, this is not a linear fragrance at all. It develops. It’s just not very loud. The more I sniff, the more I like it. I think this can be a secret weapon. Beneath the overall genericness lies a dormant uniqueness. I think I’m going to buy it before it goes up in price, because it has potential. I’m feeling it! I guess I’m the fragrance salmon here, hah!
You know what? I like it way more than Beyond Paradise for Men, my latest disappointment after being curious for three years. If Beyond Paradise smelled like this, I would’ve been happy with my blind buy. I spilled 1/3 of a vial on my skin and I like it enough to buy it. It stands out from all my mainstream fragrances even if it’s a glorified skin scent. God bless everyone. <3
EDIT: The way you guys have been roasting this fragrance is side-splitting. I’ve never seen anything like this before. I chuckled!

I literally have over 20 of these in small sample vials from all The fragrancenet.com purchases I’ve made over the years.
Hey fragrancenet…..stop trying to make this frag happen. It’s not going to happen…..just let it die already.
This is the kind of scent you would expect from the Dollar Store.

Got a free sample of it from FragranceNet and decided to get a bottle! It smells great! I wear it to the office and receive many compliments. Its fresh, light and great for office use.

Not sure how people are disliking this so much. Its not anything new or unique, but its a great, generic cologne scent you could wear at any occasion.

I kept getting samples of this in my orders and my girlfriend smelled it and liked it so I began investigating it. First impression was it’s pleasing and somewhat familiar. Then saw price thirty five range for 3.4 oz bottle. Ok if the girlfriend likes it then I should add it to the collection. While I am at it let’s get her the woman’s version as well. Whatever I can do to please her which in turn helps to please me. Added another gift and it’s now part of my stock. Pleased with purchase I like it.

So far i have 60+ bottles. Why the hell would I slap on this generic ho-hum juice? I would rather wear Lomani loll.
It reminds me of the Avon samples i have.

This is something a C List celeb would reluctantly appear in a commercial for

Super super generic mix of Sean John Unforgivable and Pacific Rock Moss. Doesn’t last or project at all, but at least it doesn’t smell off-putting

  11. :

Tried a sample vial received in my order from FragranceNet.com. This is not that bad at all really. There is a soft but sharp fruit peachy note, held up with an almost unnoticeable mint. A very now scent.

I love this cologne so much that I think I’m going to start applying lemon scented dish soap directly to my wrists in order to mimic this smell and save some money.
Real talk though, I’m not a fan of this scent. I think the main problem I have with it is the price point. If this cologne was priced at $15 dollars then it could probably get away with being a synthetic, soapy, lemon pledge bomb….But there is no way that this cologne is worth $50, and its definitely not “exceptional”.

I’ve gone through so many samples of this, I kind of enjoy it now for what it is. Although I must say, there’s no way that this is worth the $45.00 price point on Ebay. It’s a $20.00 scent at best. Clean, run of the mill, but refreshing in the summer. I’ll just stick to the free samples from Fragrance Net.

  14. :

Got a sample of this from Fragrancenet.com . My lady gave me a complement on the sample so I bought a bottle for cheap on Ebay. I don’t have any complaints. Some frags that cost me $350 haven’t gotten me complements so what can $20 hurt. I think a lot of people on here get caught up on name brands instead of whats actually in the bottle.

Found an old free sample today. It’s def soapy and fresh, would likely garner some compliments from people who don’t know fragrances. To me it smells like hand soap that you didn’t completely wash off. This would be a good buy for a teenager but only at a low cost. Performance is weak though, about an hour in, the scent is noticeably weaker on my arm. It’s not the worst scent ever made but it’s unimaginative, weak, and forgettable. 1/5

  16. :

Got a free sample…plain and low sillage/longevity. Generic is a good term. I won’t be buying a bottle and I wouldn’t recommend blind-buying this one.

Going on smell alone this is GOOD STUFF albeit familiar smelling.
It just goes to show you how very different my tastes are from other Fragrantica members.
I assure you women would LOVE this on a man.
It does have a generic whisp to it but it is a nicely done fragrance that I would gladly wear if the performance was up to par.
Don’t tell me this is any ” less than ” compared to $90 dung water from your local fragrance shop.
Has anybody gotten ANY decent performance from this ?

  20. :

This is a good fragrance to try out, but not buy. It’s more of a body spray. Because it only last a few hours, it’s good to spray on at night going to bed or you just want to have that nice feeling on you at home for a few hours.
I got some samples after making some orders and like the smell very much. I see teens and middle age adults rocking this every day. It’s a bit synthetic, so when it sits close to the skin, I can bear it without finding it cloying.
They did a good job copying Love and Luck, but definitely a step down.

Chiru – it’s funnyyou mention that, I actually did get a travel atomizer and I’ve been pouring these into it, it’s actually built up to about the bottom 20% of the bottle now.
Like Laurdess says below, it’s quite inoffensive and pleasant enough that I could imagine people asking about it.
I doubt I’d ever spend the money on it, but it’s as tolerable as any inoffensive bargain scent.

  22. :

I got a free sample of this in my purchase bag. And there’s a reason they’re giving it out for free.

Look guys, we know it’s a garbage scent. Synthetic, doesn’t perform, exceptionally boring because it is… But you’re all going about this all wrong! Here’s what you do: Collect the stupid vials fragrance.net has been spamming in their orders for the past.. forever? And then slowly build yourself a 100ml bottle of this garbage. Now that you have it; voila! Bathroom freshner! Now you can spray shit where you shit! I actually spray this stuff on my bathroom rugs and toilet topper. LOL I mean yeah it’s crap, but hey it’s got melon and stuff in it, and it’s a bit fruity. Good scent to freshen up your bathroom with. This is a panty dropper guys, women will compliment your bathroom rugs! (because you know, when they have to use the bathroom, they have to drop their panties and……..No?….Oh…I’m sorry, I’ll leave )
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
    1/10 on all accounts.
    10/10 bathroom rug fragrance.

I, too, received a free tester. It is pretty bland. Just a little citrusy, but also smells kind of chemically. Like a cheap discount store fragrance.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

A FragranceNet.com sample given to me when I bought something far better. Generic, uninteresting, mass market, boring, forgettable, uninspiring. In no way, shape or form is this in any way “exceptional.” About the only good thing that can be said for this is that it has a smell.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

Got this as a free sample. It’s the most generic of the generic with poor longevity and even worse sillage. The only redeeming quality I find in it is that I kind of like the melon note. Maybe I can dump the vial in the carpet of my bathroom to freshen it up.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

    Generic, because you are.
It came as a sample with other fragrance and man talk about an unispiring generic citrus, i would only wear this if somebody was paying me to do it, not disgusting but im a fragrance lover and i would prefer to go acapella than wearing this and i could almost swear this has a lot of pepper even if its not mentioned in the notes

  28. :

    5 out of 5

It’s kinda soapy kinda aquatic on me, really reminds of Ocean from Bath & Body works which I used to wear a lot. Not terrible but wouldn’t buy it myself

I have 18 unoppened viles of this. Pretty soon I’ll have enough for a full bottle.
Fragrance Net, these other customers are correct…. Please mix it up and send something new in 2017.

Just picked up my package from my front porch.
And got this free sample from Fragrancenet.
So let’s give this a shot without the hate.
So far I’m getting hit with lemon….Lemon juice.
I’ll give an update in a week or so to make sure.
    My review isn’t hate.
    Smh, save your money.

If you own this cologne in any quantity, whether it be in a sample vial or bottle, you probably shop on Fragrancenet.

The reviews on here are completely different from fragancenet reviews. Out of 37 reviews all are good over there….hmmm i have a feeling thoses are fake reviews. Really shows you cant trust this websites to be honest with the reviews. But this smells like ed hards love and luck, fragrancenet sent me a sample. Would not buy for that price. Just buy ed hardys love and luck its way cheaper.

ADDENDUM: also smells like Playboy Malibu. Unforgivable Playboy Malibu Ed Hardyove love & luck…..SAME SCENT

  35. :

Smells like unforgivable and yes the Ed Hardyove love & luck but cheaper smelling. Like some one squirted orange juice inside of a bag of pennies. Not my taste.

Oh, come on guys! It’s not thaaaaat bad. It’s like Diesel’s Only The Brave meets Bleu De Chanel. Both of those are loved, so why is this so hated? The projection isn’t so good, but still, I’ll take it as a freebie from FragranceNet, as I’m sure 99% of the rest of you have. I doubt I’d spend the money they’re asking for it however.
Longevity is kind of a joke though… This morning I was wearing Exceptional – Because you are… And now? Now I feel the need to use the “I’m wearing nothing” showerhead feature, which I’ve never done before. 4 hours, and then – where did it go?!
I pour my sample vials into a spray decant and use this one around the house and before bed.

Synthetic Lemon and linear. There are half a dozen fragrances under $20 that would beat this. Not horrible, but certainly unexceptional.

A generic safe nice scent; think something you’d buy from your co-worker who sells Avon products in the breakroom. The name IS a misnomer, but the scent isn’t unpleasant at all and this is coming from somebody who had to wash it off with handsoap and witch hazel because of the marine migrainous notes.A starter gift fragrance for youngsters in the vein of Jovan musk, Paul Sebastian or Aramis.A scent that would have been sold at Chess King clothing stores if time were our friend.

Amazing opening! Citrus and fresh cut cantaloupe, this stuff smelled great for the first couple of minutes, but died down almost instantly to a boring weak juice.
Scent 9.5/10 for about 3 minutes. then 4/10
    longevity 4/10
    projection 1/10
    price $40 for 100ml 2/10
Overall 3/10 This juice would be a favorite of mine if the opening lasted for more then a couple minutes, sadly it failed. don’t waste your money on this one.

Smells mostly like Unbound for Men by Halston to me. It also smells a bit like many other fragrances (in spite of the ironic name which actually ends up hurting its perception). I don’t think it is as horrendous as some have described here. But to be fair, my only exposure to Exceptional is the same ubiquitous sample that nearly everyone in the world seems to receive unsolicited when they order from FragranceNet.
You could do worse but you could surely do better. The prices seem quite high for this juice. $50 for 100 ml makes me chuckle. Even when Unbound was new I could take it or leave it so I don’t need a quasi-clone. However, if (1) you were a fan of Unbound and (2) you are actually able to SAMPLE Exceptional somewhere before you buy a whole bottle, it may be worth it to you.
There has to be a reason why this is a mostly unloved little fragrance. I don’t think it’s that bad but maybe my sample was … “exceptional?” Sorry, couldn’t resist, lol. Proceed with caution.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

A Below average fragrance. Cheaply made. FragranceNet must make it in a backyard moonshine still. They send it every time in a sample vial. I leave it in the packaging for the recycle bin.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Like others, I got a small vile of this fragrance from a FragranceNet order, and I think it smells pretty good from the initial sniff test (not the dab to the wrists). The smell is like a bitter Ed Hardy Love & Luck and honestly is muskier and stronger so it maybe more in-line with the stronger smell alike to Creed Millesime Imperial. I like it and may have to splurge on it. Just hope I can hold onto the code for it that came with the vile.
Well I tried it and it is much worse on my skin than it smells in the vile. I didn’t like it and rinsed my wrists off before applying another scent. It went from one I liked and was thinking of buying (as mentioned in my previous review below) to one I’ll gladly pass on. I’m perfectly fine with my lighter version, Ed Hardy Love & Luck for Men, thank you very much.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Awful. Cheap smelling, headache inducing. This doesn’t really have distinctive notes to me. It smells like bad generic wallmart after shave. Someone commented it’s like Brut but I disagree, Brut smells WAY better. This is my first review on here. Just to say how much I dislike this scent.
I would never ever buy this. I was sent a sample from fragrance net. Can’t bash on them, a sample is a sample, kept me from ever spending money on this.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

I always get a sample of this crap every time I get something from fragrance net . It’s the worst of the worst synthetic garbage mess of a fragrance, I don’t even think I would use it as bathroom spray. Nauseating

  45. :

    4 out of 5

    This is really weak.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Boring, generic, synthetic. To make it worse it’s rather expensive. Been ordering from fragrancenet for years and they STILL keep sending samples of this stuff out. Unless you are a collector and just want this scent to expand your collection, it’s a pass for me.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

I received a free sample of this from fragrancenet alongside a free nail file. I always appreciate trying new fragrances, but honestly the nail file was more interesting than this generic, fruity, fleeting men’s fragrance. Also I was shocked when there was a coupon that said $20 off.. this cologne costs more than $20??

  48. :

    3 out of 5

Got a small vial of this from fragrance net. It actually smells like an apple with some Mexican chili powder on it, I’m not lying. It’s fruity, pleasant, but not something I would buy. Kind of meh. The longevity sucks too. 4/10

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Come on FragranceNet You have been giving away this for years! I did get Zegna Uomo a few times but now it’s back to this crap or fingernail clippers, fingernail file, personal mirror? I guess you have a contract with this company and are stuck with them just like my Bulls are stuck with D Rose… SMH..

  50. :

    4 out of 5

    Aww sh-t, pineapple??! -AVENTUS CLONE!!!
Just kidding. =) Honestly though, this stuff is pretty good. Basically, it’s what you expect of a men’s cologne, and it performs well and seems to last a few hours or more.
Applying a splash sample, it immediately reminds me of Versace Pour Homme, but somehow not quite as good as Versace’s offering. This stuff is clean and crisp, but it’s lacking depth and it makes the cologne rather linear and it SCREAMS when you first apply it. I’ll bet this stuff would make me cough or sneeze if I had a spray.
As previously stated by other reviewers, good for 18-27 bro’s and is rather expensive for what it is, but IMO a decent one to have on the shelf. I’ll give it 6/10 because it doesn’t wow me, and there are other scents similar that do it better.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

This is just… okay. It’s simple and youthful; very high school, has a very hair-gel and sunglasses feel to it. Very Jersey Shore, if you get my meaning (not necessarily a bad thing). I’d say it’s good for 18-27 year old clubbers.
My issue is it’s way to expensive for what you’re getting. The lowest I’ve seen this for is about 50 bucks. Waaay too much, especially when compared to a number of masterpieces you can get for the same price. If you can snag a (3.4oz, 100ml) bottle of this stuff for under 25 dollars, go for it. Anything more than that is a waste of money.
A great alternative to this is Penguin Rocks. More or less the same feel and appeal but it’s a superior more sophisticated scent (and lasts much longer) for a significantly lower price.

  52. :

    3 out of 5

I agree with users who wonder why Exceptional for men is promoted so heavily by FragranceNet. In the sample phial it’s okay, and I ordered it, but one outing was enough to convince me I’d made a big mistake. Smells cheap and UNexceptional – about the level of Brut.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

    Exceptional, huh?
Other possible names and taglines that could have worked here…
    Exceptional… anything but.
    Mediocre… because you are.
    Forgettable… completely and utterly.
Self esteem… there’s a reason yours is low.
Participation award… everyone should get a trophy.
The divisiveness in the reviews is kind of funny. That $20 off coupon must have been used a few times.
Anyway… I wouldn’t really say it’s vile but it really does take “nothing special” to a new level of bland. Synthetic clean and fresh; would be mistaken for Axe any and every day of the week.
Ultra generic scent, moronic branding, insulting price tag. The number of other, better options is in the hundreds.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

    Not exceptional by any means

  55. :

Pleasant enough light fragrance but I wouldn’t pay full asking price for it.

  56. :

    4 out of 5

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t smell good when initially applied. The problem is that it turns into a skin scent within an hour! I got a free sample from Fragrance.net like many of you have. I put it on tonight to go out to a concert. I had a small vial. I darn near poured the entire thing into my hand and applied it. Nobody around could smell the projection. I asked! This is absolutely NOT FBW. If you get it free…great. Otherwise avoid.

  57. :

    5 out of 5

What a misnomer! Nothing exceptional about it. This is basic and bland. Not terrible, not offensive, just boring. I really don’t know why FragranceNet pushes this stuff. It smells very cheap and unremarkable.
The marketing says it’s “distinctly masculine.” Eh, no. There’s nothing distinctly masculine about fruit, unless you’re a sadist who wants to make a fragrance that smells of durian. In fact, I found it to be an extremely feminine generic sweet citrus.

  58. :

    5 out of 5

I received two samples of this from fragrancenet. Don’t know why I even used the second sample. I honestly feel that it is one of the worst EDT that I have ever used. Just boring. Initial scent is very offensive. That same scent remains from start to finish. It just gets weaker as it wears off. For me, it’s just bad all around.

  59. :

Not Bad…I have a tester from Ordering Usher UR…

  60. :

    5 out of 5

Basic and cheap scent , I as well got it as a sample from the net… Not a full bottle worthy scent, reminds me of Glenn peri homme

  61. :

    3 out of 5

Basic men’s scent, aquatic, clean, a little boring. Would be a fine office scent and the guy wearing it would sure smell nice.

  62. :

    5 out of 5

Yes, got this as a sample with my first order from fragrancenet.com (like everyone else here). It’s not bad for an aquatic scent (which I normally dislike and shun). But I do have to say one thing – it does smell a lot better than Cool Water for men, which I had gotten a while back as a blind buy…

  63. :

    3 out of 5

This isn’t as brutal as others make it seem, but it’s certainly mediocre… it reminds me of colognes I wore in junior high. An artificial scent throughout… aquatic and a little citrus. Very synthetic. Inoffensive in small doses, but this needs some work, or just needs to stay in the hands of tweens.

  64. :

    4 out of 5

This was released long before 2008. I recall ordering my fragrance for my move to Europe in late 2006 and getting a large sample of Exceptional BYA for Men with my order. I felt then about it as I do now: it’s surprisingly pleasant and well made for what it is, but nothing to go crazy for. It’s a Millesime Imperial/Love & Luck clone, derivative from start to finish, all about fresh citrus and melons and synthetically sheer precious woods, with a tiny dash of pink pepper and mint to round it all out. Its packaging is as boring as its scent profile. That said, Exceptional BYA is a better deal than MI (truly an overpriced Creed if ever there was one) and a worthier copy of MI than Love & Luck, which gets a bit “plasticky” over time. Exceptional never gets overwhelmingly synthetic, it just smells simple and rather “blah.” You get the gist. If you like this sort of thing and tend to stick with “fresh” and “fruity” yet somehow “masculine” in your wardrobe, you may very well want to ignore the bad press and give this Fragrancenet scent a try. With all the codes and coupons it comes to about ten dollars an ounce, and it’s certainly not a waste of money at that price.

  65. :

Reminds me of being at the beach.

  66. :

    4 out of 5

This is hilariously boring. From the bottle design, to the name, to the scent, to the way-too-pushy marketing on fragrancenet’s part. I could imagine this scent being designed as a prop in a soap opera. The fragrance itself is a comically inoffensive (boring), fleeting, all-too-familiar citrus that reminds me of unforgivable, love and luck, some liz clairbornes, axe/lynx’s and other fragrances aimed at the high school crowd. If this fragrance was 15 dollars, I would have no issue with it, and might even recommend it as an ok buy for young people who just want to smell good. But this is a fully priced fragrance and seeing it next to all the other great deals on fragrancenet, I just can’t help but wonder who is buying this when Midnight in Paris, Encre Noir, Body Kouros, and so many others are right around the same price point…Theres even a bloat of bright citrus-based designer fragrances that smell identical to this but perform way better for much less money. Exceptionally depressing . 2/10

  67. :

    5 out of 5

Poor longevity, but beyond that, it seems to be the kind of scent you would buy as a gift for someone who wants something very inoffensive, just a quick whiff of something “nice” and then he doesn’t want to smell it any more. Perhaps he’ll get a few compliments and that’s what he wants. Possibly the best example of a non-aficionado scent !

  68. :

    3 out of 5

I will put it this way: Exceptional for Men smells good but not…exceptional (for lack of a better word). Nice, inoffensive watermelon, suede cologne that has been many times before. This smells pretty good, and I would consider purchasing a bottle, but it is pretty expensive for what it is. Its lack of longevity also does not make it a good value. If Love and Luck really does smell similar, I will have to check that one out. Otherwise, I will just keep enjoying the free samples that come with my Fragrancenet orders.

Absolutely blown away by this. After being disappointed by the female equivalent, was pleasantly surprised at the men’s version. I may be alone on this, but I find it opens with a shot of rum and spicy chocolate that then turns into a bright lemon on a hint of woodsy notes. Overall a great one, very impressed indeed. Projection is faint, however.

Reminds me of high school. Axe? Cheap. Pleasant.

Great start, disappointing finish. Fragrance doesn’t last much beyond an hour on me. I feel jipped on this one. I wouldn’t say I don’t like it, it just has longevity issues.

This smells like high school to me. Back in those days, I wore a Pac Sun cologne called Vurt. Exceptional smells EXACLTY like it. Seriously, there’s no difference. So if you’re 14-17 years old, wear either this or Vurt. It works well for that age group.
Other than that, all I can really say is that this is a relaxing ozonic citrus scent with a slight tea accord, more suitable for warm weather. Nothing too special, but still not bad by any means.

The opening is quite fantastic on this scent, warm citruses blended well. then it kinda goes to shit with a musty, cheap, rotting fruit kind of smell. i wanted to love this one because the opening is so wonderful, but the dry down is not a scent id want on me

Great scent of coarse identical to “love and luck” just a little more sophisticated. I would say the slightly older brother. L&L is immature

Don’t be misled by all the dislikes, these same people cursing this as rubbish would be professing this a masterpiece if it were bottled under the Chanel or Dior names despite its rather undistinguished originality. Their negativity is based solely on the fact this is a fragrancenet.com self-made creation that is ubiquitous and reeks of rather dubious ambitious marketing campaigns to many who receive a sample with a $20 coupon with every purchase from the highly successful and reliable online retailer.
Exceptional is a simple but rather organic blend of musky melon and soft citrus that is rather serviceable and versatile enough for newbies that they could get away with wearing this for sport, work, casual or formal all at once during the warmer spring and summer months. Very fresh and uplifting, doesn’t have any of the citric harshness of some citrus aromatics, the melon in combination with the touch of violet leaf and tiny pinch of mint keeps things very straight out of the shower clean and extremely refreshing.
Marc Ecko’s UNLTD has a similar effect but with more complexity, mint heaviness and a stronger proportion of synthetic elements. Exceptional is comfortable simply being a reliable organic fruity citrus aromatic aquatic without the overused sea/ocean notes found in so many others of the same concept. If you just want something simple that is fresh, versatile for spring and summer and rather organic for an affordable price, Exceptional is a fine choice for everyday casual and athletic use. Will add longevity and sillage information after final testing today.

Along with probably 90% of the people that have tried this fragrance I decided to give it a shot due to the fact that every time you get something from fragrancenet you get a sample of this stuff…
Up top this is really pleasant and smells 90% like Ed hardys Love and Luck.(which I love) the only small difference is that this is a slightly softer, less fruity and slightly more mature(not much though). Then in the mid it calms down to pretty much the same scent only a little more soft and warm as the spices creep in. Then in the base it becomes a very light skin scent which is pretty non-detectable.
Performance on this is pretty terrible ! It projects really only for about half an hour on my skin and then after that its a skin scent for the next 2 hours.
Id rate this stuff a 5.5 out of 10 ! Its an ok scent but nothing unique and the performance is just horrible.

I think everyone has gotten a sample or 100 depending how much you order from a site with a similar name to this site.. It is clean, sweet and simple..
Not bad.. I have several that smell like this so I will pass.. But I would buy it at some point if the need exists…

This actually isnt a bad fragrance at all.
I mean it is basic and generic, but those factors do not make this a bad fragrance. Rather, I would say this is a fragrance for most people to pass up on especially if you have a few fragrances under your belt.
There is absolutely no wow factor in Exceptional. It is a simple aquatic that is slightly pleasing and most definitely un-offending. The drydown is pretty decent but that is about all that stood out.
This is for the utter newby.

Really offensive price point. Why would I pay $34,99 (that’s already minus the $20 coupon) for this non-descript affair? Plus shipping, plus taxes. I now have five sample vials of this non-offensive, non-intrusive non-entity. What’s the story, fragrancenet? Are there no other samples in your inventory?
It’s a Love and Luck wannabe. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but only in certain situations. As a rejoinder to what hamednoohi has said below: why bother creating something that already exists…if you can’t do it better?
And why bother imitating a middling brand anyway?

Perhaps one of greatest mens colognes to ever hit the market. Don’t understand all the negative reviews. The scent is unique, and most of all, not overpowering like so many out there. You can’t go wrong with this scent if you are looking for a mature, classy mens fragrance.

Sample from Fragrancenet. So this is an ok scent, fresh, and citrusy. But it smells like many other fragrances out there. Not unique and doesn’t last or project. For the price is not worth it at all, $20dlls could be a good price. 3/10, really poor scent and performance. I would never buy this, as a sample is great to give as a gift to someone haha.

Another “free sample frag” that came with an order from FragranceNet.com. It’s a grapefruity citrus at first that goes greener for a while, then dries down into a rather spicy oriental. A little cheap-smelling, but not as bad as the new version of Caswell-Massey Newport, which it reminds me of a lot. Both feel to me like they’re trying to cover all the categories in one blend, thinking “citrus is good, and green is good, and spicy is good, so doing them all must be the key to saleability.” Longevity is mediumish, but it’s kind of weak. I really can’t believe the price that FragranceNet.com charges for this “exclusive” of theirs. If not for the fact that so many designer frags smell like this nowadays, it would be a complete joke at this price (not that I’d even pay half personally). Still, it’s nice enough that I’d eventually use up the sample vial.
