Description

The French house of L’Occitane has presented its brand new collection of eau de cologne – EAUX DE PROVENCE at the Perfume Expo in Dusseldorf. The collection encompasses three fragrances: Eau Ravissante, Eau Universelle and Eau Captivante. The fragrances are ideal for the warmer season; they are refreshing, luminous, optimistic and available in two versions of flacons.

This fragrance of the collection – Eau Captivante is created for men. Its characteristic aromatic structure is accentuated with mint and basil, refreshed with lime and bergamot, along with woody notes supporting the composition. The fragrance is available as 50 and 300ml cologne fraiche, with light green fluid.
Eau Captivante was launched in 2012.

This is the type of scent that you can apply loads and not overdoes on it. As a cologne it is amazingly light. I still love it for how it is more like a mist. These colognes are extremely versatile. I often find myself using this to spray on my clothing when I am using mint based fragrance. It smells great also when sprayed on bedding as it has a clean smell to it. This is a great cologne from L’occitane.

Bought this with Universelle during a Winter Sale, not thinking that it would smell much better than the one I had always wanted to try (Universelle).
Surprisingly, it does. You can actually smell the light scents of Bergamot and Lime, which is what it smells like the most.
    A very light fragrance.

Incorrectly labeled as a scent for men. I think it’s a true unisex. I love it, and I typically only like fairly feminine fragrances. I love the fresh lime, and the basil and woody notes stay soft and don’t become too aggressive. This is my favorite of the eau en provence line. I bought the large bottle, and it is LARGE. It’s beautiful but too large to use with a spray top. So you will have to put some in a cupped hand and splash on, but it’s so refreshing and light for summer, it’s the perfect cologne for this. It’s an uncomplicated herbal citrus for warm days.

Ultra refreshing, uplifting scent with mint and citrus. I spray on myself and the air around me. Perfect for warm days. To add some sweetness, layer with Ravissante. Romance is in the air!

Smells very fresh and clean, very unisex.
Although it’s really very good, I should say it’s not surprising or extremely different as a scent – just a very good eau de cologne.
Longevity is rather mild is sillage is fair.

Six months ago I got Eau Universelle and enjoyed wearing it so much that I’ve decided to get Eau Captivante. The feel of the fragrances is very similar – light, refreshing and breezy.
Eau Captivante opens up on the with a burst of lime, then burst of bergamot and herbs follow. The herbs are very refreshing as opposed to being dry and strong, I mainly get mint and a hint of basil which makes me instantly think of Guerlain’s Herba Fresca.
I love using it during hot and humis season – it instanly makes me feel refreshed. It reminds me of jug with ice and cold water with slices of lime and mint leaves floating in it

This is a good clean and ultra fresh scent that is excellent for the summer and spring. I also use this on my bedding as well!! I love this one. Bottle design looks good too.

Of the three provençale 10oz colognes, this is by far my favorite. Just an incredibly good-smelling tradition eau-de-cologne (Kolnisch Wasser type). A brilliant, sparkling lime/grapefruit tang upon first spray, with some delicate green notes. In drydown one perceives the base of bergamot, neroli, petitgrain, and woody notes. My only reservation for the scent is that the base woody/musky notes are obviously synthetic. But the citrus is so refreshing and scintillating, I have little problems with that. unisex, of course, and the scent is quite evanescent on the skin. The big 10oz bottle is something you’d take on a summer vacation, and just liberally apply often to cool you down. Great for kids, too. Put this in the refrigerator, and it will deliver an extra zing of coolness.

Excellent cologne for summer that cools and refreshes with crisp citrus notes. Because it is a cologne, it won’t last beyond a couple of hours. The flip side is that respraying is a joy and can’t ever be too much. After reapplying twice, I find that the fragrance finally takes root and lasts through the day and night and still smells as fresh as the first spritz! By the way, it goes very well with Eau Ravissante!

When intitially sprayed it actually reminded me of lemon soothers but the dry down becomes this sexy subtle envelope of spice, mint and lashings of bergamot.
My new daily and beginning from the intricate detailings on the bottle to the relaxed sillage this package gives me this meditative feel for me for the rest of the day.
It’s good and not many people know of it so very unique
    8/10

I was far more captivated with the Art Nouveau bottle than with the scent.

I want to hope that L’Occitane will never stop making this cologne. The scent is so beautiful! It’s fresh, clean, uplifting, airy. If I could, I would bathe in it.
Can’t imagine anything better for hot summer day.
Sadly have to agree that lasting power leaves a lot to be desired. It explains more than generous size of the bottle: 10 oz.

A very fresh citrusy smelling perfume with woody undertones.
A great perk me up, and reminds me somewhat of Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea EDT.
Sillage is soft, given that it’s an eau de cologne. I can’t stop sniffing my wrists after trying it out.
Lasting power was surprisingly 2-3 hours. It lasted longer than my EA’s Green Tea EDT despite me applying EA an hour after testing out this EDC at the store.
Unfortunately this is exorbitantly priced in my country so while I do like it, I won’t buy it.

A kind of message from Belle Epoque!I like it!

So, so clean and fresh and a wonderful pick-me-up, but in order to elicit any lasting power, one must layer bath products, lotion and fragrance–otherwise the fragrance alone is completely gone by mid-morning.

On the scent strip, this brought forth a lovely opening; clean green notes and clear mint. However, it has absolutely no lasting power, and on the skin, after the first few notes, it simply fades away .

Mmm, so nice! It’s definetely unisex, anyone can wear this as a refreshing cologne. The mint note is very uplifting yet never aggressive as it happens with mint sometimes.
It will be a great lift me up in summer wet mornings.
Lasting power is not big, of course. It lasted more than 2 hours on my skin in a very subtle way.
Good job from L’Occitane for summer.
Do they have to be forgiven for all discontinued beauties?
