Description
Justin Bieber launches his second perfume dedicated to his girl fans. The fragrance is named Girlfriend and is out on the market from mid-June 2012. Girlfriend fragrance is described as a flirty, personal and inviting.
Top notes are designated to represent a “Chance” in love and provide an exciting splash of mandarin, blackberry, pear and strawberry. The heart is marked as “Dream” and includes accords of pink freesia, star jasmine, apricot and orange blossom. The base is a “Kiss”, containing sensual notes of vanilla orchid, luminous musk and white amber.
Available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
The advertising campaign is made of Justin’s fans video clips.

This smells like a Victoria Secret fragrance 100%. Amazing because you get a expensive VS fragrance without the hefty pricetag. That is why it is perplexing to me as to why this did not receive good feedback from the perfumista community? But to each is own, I LOVE this! Yes it’s totally generic, but sometimes these fruity, musky, teeny scents are comfortable for casual wear. I feel this one is underated, very cute packaging although awkward a bit. The silage is alright I need occasional touch ups, got the complete set for $32.00 with the lotion & shower gel I like to layer the scent over the other two for better staying power. Hubby likes this one on me.

I reciently bought girlfriend mostly because I was curious about it and I couldn’t find a tester of it in any perfume shop around.also I’m passing somehow hard days and I need carefree,fun and youthful perfumes to cheer me up.I’m also craving strawberry scents these days and I wished to find it in girlfriend.I’d prefer to buy a small bottle but a 35$ 3.4oz was the best deal I found around.now that I’ve tried it I think half this price would be fair
First about it’s bottle,
I know a lot of you are going to give me thumbs down for this,but I don’t dislike it’s bottle.yes,it’s not practical and it’s difficult to pick it up and it looks childish,still I like it,maybe because I like pink and purple.
For those of you who haven’t seen it persenolly,it’s a simple long heart-shaped purple glass bottle in a shield made of hard plastic which looks like spring coil and is closed with magnetic attachments.it’s good that you can take off the inner perfume from it’s shield in order to carry it in your bag or if you don’t like it’s kitchy design.the downside is that there’s no cap.
Now about the scent,
First time that I sprayed it,I was very dissapointed.all I could smell was a sharp artifical strawberry and some sweetness and I thought it smells like children’s cheap pink bodymists.
I have “the key” and I LOVE it.it’s such a lovely clean and crisp shampoo-like scent.I had tested someday long ago and remember it as a safe,nice and inoffensive vanilla-fruit combo.I didn’t expect to dislike girlfriend
Now after giving it couple of chances,I don’t dislike it anymore.I don’t love it either but I can use it in home and gym.what I smell the most is strawberry and pear,some vanilla sweetness and some clean musk.doesn’t smell really bad.it’s almost loud and sweet and very fruity when first sprayed but in less than half an hour,sillage becomes soft and what lasts on skin is a soft and clean musky vanilla with a very faint whisper of white florals in background,a bit like a creamy soap which I like but I can barely smell it in this stage and in less than two hours it totally dissapears.most celebrity perfumes have great longevity on my skin but bieber’s perfumes don’t follow this rule.
I’d say it’s not a very bad perfume if you find it with a cheap price and if you can tolerate it’s first minutes of cheap fruity body spray scent.if you believe in age limitation in choosing perfumes I’d say except it’s childish opening,it’s pretty ageless in it’s drydown as I believe a very soft and not so sweet musky vanilla skinscent can’t belong to a specific age group.
Though I find it’s drydown pleasant,I probably wouldn’t buy it If I tested it first.

I love musk.all types of musk but girlfriend dries down to the cheapest white musk I’ve ever smelt.it’s loud artificial fruity opening dries down to a very faint horrible white musk+hair spray. I thought I can wear it at home but actually I can’t tolerate it and I’m very easy going and also I’m a fan of celebrity perfumes!
The idea of a girly perfume with a fruity,strawberry- pear opening and a clean and creamy musk-vanilla drydown is lovely to me,it could be lovely,but it’s not done right here IMO

So, i’m wearing this perfume as we speak. I used to wear it when i was 14 and it was my FAVOURITE… now that i’ve sprayed it again… i’m NOT enjoying the way it’s piercing my nostrils. It’s overbearing and i’m pretty sure it’s ALWAYS hurt my nose. It initially sounds appealing… but now it’s simply GROSS and cheap smelling.

I really enjoy some celebrity perfumes and drugstore cheapies, but this is just bad. I mean it smells bad. The berries have a shrill aquatic aspect that is not sweet but harsh and ugly. I used to have it but I had to donate it because I couldn’t stand the sharp artificial edges to what the scent was intended to be. I have no opinion about Justin Bieber. My review is a response to the scent alone. You’re definitely better off with something from Bath &Bodyworks.

One of the most gorgeous bottles I’ve ever seen – I love it! Fabulous colours – fantastic. Bizarre and razzmatazz!! And the perfume is really good. Lovely fruits, sweet and juicy, especially the rich blackberry, sweeet lovely strawberry and the juicy pear, and lovely flowers, with also lovely deep and smooth amber and musk. Very very nice, fresh and happy perfume. And it lasts well, and I get lots of compliments. But I adore the bottle!!!

Fresh, clean, sweet, youthful. Just don’t wear too much of this perfume at once. It isn’t off-putting, smells a bit like Ed Hardy. (the first one that he made for women, in the pink tattoo bottle, I forgot the name). And the best part is that admitting that you are wearing a Beiber perfume could be hilarious.

I picked up a 1/2 oz bottle for $3.49, yes $3.49! I am 43 and would never look at this twice but for the price I jumped on it! So here it goes: I sprayed it and hubby said “wow, what is that? it smells really good on you!” First spray is very fruity and develops with a little soft floral in there. I get orange, strawberry and freesia the most. It nothing spectacular but it smells nice and I would wear this again. It is surprisingly soft at dry down. If you like fruity, florals give this a try.

Oddly addictive. Sure, this may create cavities by mere smell, but it’s strangely satisfying.
It’s honestly something that if Victoria Secret released it would probably be very liked.
It tames my sweet craving without being overpowering or offensive to others. A skin scent that lasts 6 hours with light, flowery, sugary, fruity and vanilla notes.

First off, let me say that I don’t care what celebrity is on the front of a box. If it smells good, I’ll wear it! I have and enjoy Bieber’s The Key and Someday, so when I saw this in the checkout at Marshalls for $4.99 for a 15 mL I thought, why not? It’s ok. It’s nothing ground breaking or special but I don’t think it’s meant to be. It smells nice, lasted a good 6 hours on me and projected well. I don’t like it as much as The Key or even Someday, but I’ll use this for days lounging around the house when I don’t want to waste my favorites.

Got a little tube as a free sample with Sephora order. Alas, it seems like almost all celeb fragrances smell the same: heavy, synthetic and not in a pleasant way, “fruity” but artificially rather than juicy. The berries and orchid in this are what stand out to me, and while I like blackberry and strawberry, I unfortunately do not enjoy the orchid scent. At best, I’d give this a 4 out of 10.

For me it’s not like Someday at all. This is more fresh and fruity, like wild berries or forest fruit shampoo, and reminds me of spring. The longevity is terrible, half an hour and vanished. It’s pretty cheap so I can respray. It’s good for everyday use, I don’t think it would bother anyone at all.

Yes..i LOVE Justin Bieber Girlfriend is much better than Someday…i feel like the creators of this perfume put much more thought into the creation of Girlfriend. I feel like they really tried to create something good this time. I tried Someday, it was alright but i think it was created for a girl who is just starting to like perfume…i even gave a bottle of Someday to my neighbor who is 11. Girlfriend on the other hand is more mature still very young but not as young as Someday which is for basically a girl just starting middle school…of course it doesnt matter how old you are..wear what you want..what feels good to you….Girlfriend is dreamy….i smell the strawberries, blueberries, and vanilla and flowers…i absolutely love it…i just have a sample but i definitely want buy a whole bottle of girlfriend.

I am 31 years old and a lawyer. I love this fragrance! The packaging I gorgeous. It’s designed for those who like something modern. The fragrance does not smell fruity to me. It is a mature fragrance, much different from the cheap stuff found in most stores. They got this one right. I first tried this in the hair mist. It was addictive. Then I got the set with the perfume and the lotion. The lotion shimmers. I love how affordable it is. I can spray it on whenever. The Key is another one of my favorites. I am picky when it comes to wearing a fragrance but this one is a winner. Thank you to the makers of this fragrance.

Firstly, I need to disclose that I am not a Justin Bieber fan. I could claim that it is because I am old enough to be his mother’s youngest aunt, but that is not it at all.
Secondly, I need to disclose that I am not a celebrity scent snob. I sleep in Britney’s Fantasy just about every night. I LOVE Fantasy and can’t stand anything Britney Spears does. Fantasy is so beyond underrated but I am ok with that because that keeps it cheep enough to use every night post shower.
JB Girlfriend is initially a very synthetic sweet floral experience. The complete skin dry down (30 min later) is not horrible. I get jasmine left behind on my skin. I will try this again on my clothing to see how this develops. All in all it is worth no more or no less than the discounted TJ Max price. This is probably going to be a pass for me. My 12 year old cousin will probably inherit this very soon.

Now I’m wondering “WHY?!” There is really nothing special about this. Reminds me of one of the Katy Perry ones but not even as good as that (not that I’m a big fan of those either).

I fell in love with a tiny sample vial of this after it came out (though it admittedly took months for me to try the vial since the fact it was made by JB was a total turnoff). I’ve now had the bottle for a couple years and it’s nowhere near finished.
For me this starts as berries- sweetness and berries that has just a hint of a citrusy tartness. Then a bit of musk layers in. Nowadays it seems the floral shows up much more after the musk… It’s almost as if this perfume got louder with time. I still wear this on occasion, but not often. When I first started wearing it, I got questions all the time about what I was wearing that smelled so good… And I would kind of feel goofy telling them it was Justin Beiber’s Girlfriend.

I love Someday n hoped to love this but there’s the FREESIA note that on me goes from my wrist straight to my tongue. For some odd reason Fressia does that to me..weird..ugh.. The bottle looks like a damaged toy. The scent is simple, generic for a teen girl and I don t see anything so bad in it. It is fruity and sweet because a 15 y.o. girl will never wear a chypre or an animalic scent, it is simple!
The association with Beiber makes almost makes everyone disqualify this product and this is not fair.It s an option, like everything else.If you don t like Beiber does not mean you have to denigrate a fragrance that is actually the work of other people.

Ok so I’m not of fan of Justin but I couldn’t pass the deal of this being only $9.99 for a 100ml bottle at TJMaxx!! With that said I actually really like this perfume! For a fruity floral its long lasting and the blackberry,strawberry & apricot stand out the most to me with hints of vanilla orchid…..I love it and have gotten complimented the past few times I’ve worn it(even my husband loves it on me)
The bottle packaging is lame IMO the plastic swirled around feels tacky and cheap lol but I guess from afar its kinda cute…the scent alone makes up for it!

For full disclosure, I’ve never tried this on myself, but the receptionist at work wears it. When I asked her what smelled so good she sheepishly admitted it was a Justin Bieber scent and pulled out the bottle so I could see what it looked like. She said she gets compliments all the time (I believe it) and is rather embarrassed to admit it’s a Bieber fragrance.
As others have mentioned, this scent is nothing ground-breaking or unique, but it’s a very pleasant fruity scent that just plain smells good.

I’m going to get this out in the open. This smells nothing like someday. This is a little bit more growing up than someday. I love this bottle as it is very arty and funky. The box is nice but the actual scent could have been better. This is a nice fruity sweet vanilla fragrance. This doesn’t really last long on my skin but still a good scent. Bought a gift set, unsmelled, at a local drugstore where it was only $10 marked on after Xmas clearance. I first used my phone to log onto here to see what notes were in it. Bought it, took it home and tried it. I really like it, I get a lot of strawberries and warm ambery tones. I wore it out and got several compliments on it. It really surprised me how well it is lasting and how I now smell warmer, slight blonde woods, and feminine. It’s a really nice scent and cheap, too. I give this a thumbs up.

Justin Bieber’s Girlfriend is a much nicer offering than his first fragrance Someday. Thankfully this fragrance didn’t give me an asthma attack like Someday did.
Girlfriend is your typical, ‘run of the mill’ fruity floral. Like most celebrity scents, this fragrance has a dominant sugary aroma and will more than likely appeal to the younger market.
I actually don’t mind the opening blend of candied strawberry, blackberries and apricot. It’s the heavy dose of synthetic white musk that turns me off. The musk makes this fragrance smell kind of dusty and strange.
The drydown has barely any dimension and resembles the scent of cheap shampoo. I wish I could give this fragrance a more favourable review, but there’s not a lot to love here. Believe me when I say that I’m not dissing this fragrance because of the celebrity behind it. I honestly think Girlfriend could be better, probably a lot more pleasant without the musk.
The only plus, this fragrance lasts extremely well, and I guess as a side note, it does sell rather cheaply. Buy it for your Bieber obsessed teenage daughter by all means, but if you’re serious about perfume, please just skip this one.

I am 32 years old and I bought this on a whim in the clearance rack at Winners and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. I think Justin Bieber is an absolute douchebag, but I almost liked his “Someday” fragrance, it was just missing something I can’t quite put my finger on. This fragrance is equally as youthful, but a little more complex and wonderfully fruity. The drydown on this is reminiscent of Viva La Juicy or Fcuk 3. Having said that, it is a pretty generic fragrance that a lot of people might like a little, but nothing stands out to it that would make it a “signature scent”. If it was on sale and I ran out I might repurchase, but I wouldn’t go out and buy this on purpose. The bottle is really cute though. Some may think it’s tacky, but I like the visual appeal on my perfume shelf. It’s sweet without being overly sweet and not an overpowering scent at all.

I’m seriously loving all of JB’s perfumes and I’m nowhere near the target market for these (being 47!), they are fun perfumes and shouldn’t be taken as serious scents. This one is very fruity and mellow on me, nice and sweet but not overpoweringly so. It’s a nice lounging around the house or going out doing chores scent, I doubt I would wear it on date night unless the husband really likes it, but he (like oh so many men) love the sweety scents, I swear if we smell like food or candy they love it! Bought the travel spray of this and may go back for another (or a rollerball), the full sized bottle is just a tad wacky for me…it is creative but a little goofy. Unfortunatly none of JB’s perfumes last very long on me, they all hit about 3 hours and vanish. The sillage is good though! Let me just state I am not a fan of JB, his activity as of late is a bit bizarre, but I’ll not judge a perfume by the name behind it, I judge it by if I like it or not, nothing else. :0)

This perfume line includes a “swept away hair mist” which is basically a scent for hair. I had been wanting to try this fragrance so I caved and bought the hair mist. On first spray it was nothing spectacular but about 2 minutes later I was so pleasantly surprised! It magically went very misleading to very delicious! My hair has been smelling super yummy all day! And what a great idea to make a scented hair mist. It is non-sticky and doesn’t dry out the hair, but lasts all day. I am definitely glad I gave this one a try! Pure sweet berry deliciousness. I smell it every time I turn my head. Yummy! And it lasts longer than Someday which I have. Inexpensive too. Don’t be deceived by the initial spray smell. It has some magic power to it and will transform right before your nose. 😉
UPDATE: So I sprayed this on last night and this morning I am STILL smelling yummy sweetness in my hair! Talk about Potency and staying power!!!!! 🙂

If Someday can be compared to cotton candy, Girlfriend is more like a Sour Patch Kid. It’s a disturbingly intense candy smell, but it eventually dries down to a softer, peachy scent.

the Justin beiber perfumes all smell the same. and the bottles are so ugly and cheap looking. but then, you wouldn’t expect a very high level of sophistication from anything having to do with Justin Beiber. Just sayin. I’m sure this is the best they could do for him…I wouldn’t ever buy these just cause I wouldn’t want to see these perfume bottles on my dresser.. especially cause all my other bottles are so cute. Love this perfume! It’s all gone now though 🙁 it’s an amazing sweet light floral fruity summer scent with a fun teenage bottle! It lasts a good while to! After a few hours it stars to smell like vanilla or cotton candy to me. It’s an amazing scent and perfect for 10 – 20 year olds! Absolutely buy! If your buying a present for a teenage girl you can’t go wrong with this! Amazing can’t wait for ‘The Key’ perfume to come out!

The first five seconds of this perfume smells like sweet juicy fruits, then after that it smells musky? Like really stale smelling idk like a perfume that been sitting out in the hot burning sun so long that it no longer has a smell of wonderful, juicy fruits and florals just a plain weird flat smell. I like someday better, it has a lot more character to it.

My best friend gave me a try of girlfriend for my birthday (yesterday), to me it’s like all these young celeb eprfumes, sweet, plastic with TACKY bottles. I actually like it tho.

The moment I donned Justin Bieber GIRLFRIEND, I became convinced that I must have reviewed this fragrance before. Guess not. Must have been one of the hundreds of other sweet pseudo-sandalwood-vanilla scents being sold in increasingly bizarre bottles to distract attention from the banality within.
I do not think that GIRLFRIEND smells horrible. It’s not overly sweet, and it does not make me wish for nothing more ardently than a bath. But it’s a sweet little near nothing to my nose. The notes listed in the hierarchy appear to have been generated using a random note generator. Sure, if you mixed pear, blackberry, strawberry, mandarin, apricot, freesia, jasmine, orange blossom, amber, musk, and vanilla orchid, the resultant solution might smell like this.
Rather like a “white noise” scent experiment, or the recent olfactory artwork “Everything.”

Fresh, fruity and not overpowering. it may be because i dont like those “special” perfumes that everyone is talking about, that some perfumes are just too neutral and not unique. every scent turns unique on a skin that fits the perfume i think! even this. i dont care if its by JB, i’d buy it but its not so cheap here in norway

This reminds me of the gummy bear scented spray you could buy in junior high school that everyone wanted… now that I look back I don’t really know why you’d want to smell like this. But it definitely brings up memories of being a teeny-bopper. or now “Belieber”.

I’m not a fan of Beiber and to be honest I usually don’t try celeb scents unless I like celeb. But I’ve been trying to break away from that and did so trying this. I can’t say I went in for a whiff expecting much but I do love strawberries so I was expecting to like it a bit. Instead I found it extremely boring and generic. It did not spell terrible but it left no real impression on me and I didn’t get strawberries at all! It smelled cheap to me and lasted about an hour, if that.

This perfume is identical to Justin’s first scent, Someday. I have had to sell both of them and can usually convince people that if one is not available, they should just purchase the other. With all that aside, I do enjoy it.
At first, it just screams summer. The scent is not fresh or new at all, it’s extremely fruity and the blackberry remains the power to the entire smell. I have nothing against this but as with celebrities, you can’t expect it to be much else. Even so, I get compliments every time I wear it and it DOES last for some time which is always a favorite feature of mine.
