Description

After the successful first perfume, Custo Barcelona presented a second fragrance for men, Custo Men in October 2009. It will accompany Custo Barcelona edition for women from 2008. The sweet, sexy, optimistic and spicy new fragrance by Custo Barcelona was created in cooperation with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, as an eternal combination of fashion, beauty, journey, culture and mysterious secrets brought to us by upcoming days.

Composition of Custo Man reveals the unknown behind the horizon with citrusy zests of Mediterranean lime and bergamot along with neroli and aromatic juniper berries. A heart introduces tacts of orange blossom, lemon verbena and black pepper, while a base includes benzoin, tonka, labdanum and musk.

Flacon of the masculine edition Custo Man repeats the theme of the last year’s edition while combining various materials: green glass and metal board, decorated with relief names. Its stopper is eccentric and shows escape from conformism. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml EDT.

Horrible scent. Worse than many supermarket fragrances costing 4 €. Too dense, extremely cloying, cheapie-sweety aroma and in general artificial-chemical feeling…
Don’t even bother with this one guys, it does NOT worth the purchase AT ALL.
    Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

confermo la somiglianza anche se molto meno potente ma accettabile al profumo più potente che abbia mai provato che anche tom ford si sogna J.P.G. FLEUR DU MALE ,un vero capolavoro .

Love it. Better than 95% of all the other fragrances they sell in the department stores. I believe there is Magnolia in the scent. You cannot buy this new for any cheap price either as it is hard to find for a medium to high price, if you can find it at all.

it’s a love/hate fragrance. I purchase the 100 ml bottle (it was a bargain), it’s 70% empty and i still can’t tell you if i hate completely or love unconditionally. It was a good sillage, very good longevity, i can still smell it on my jacket one week after i wear it but there’s something annoying on it..

Não tem diferença alguma com o Fleur du Male. Só o preço é que é mais barato. Um pouco enjoativo e abafado. É para ser usado com moderação e em ocasiões informais. Lembra muito o. Joop rosa.

I was in perfumery – first blotter sprayed by Custo, second by Le Male. After 15 minutes I moved both closer to my nose – it was really hard to distinguish which is Custo, which is Le Male….Longevity/Projection/Quality are also very similar – excellent level. I recommend to try!

I try to spray it on my arm’s skin. Nice opening and dry down is like Moschino Uomo.

I bought this a while ago, and after not really giving it a fair go, gave the fragrance away. More recently, after getting Dior Homme and Ungaro III, I became more interested in male florals. So when I saw Custo Barcelona on sale, I bought it.
I have never tried Fleur de Male (and never will, as I find the bottle repulsive), but apparently it smells the same, or at last very similar. The neroli is really prominent in it and combines with the other elements to give it a plasticy accord (at least to my nose), but this is not in a bad way, it is really quite pleasant. It doesn’t have great sillage or longevity, but considering I paid $9 for 100mL, it is quite a good deal!

I love this perfume. Again Francis Kurkdjian has created a work of art.
This scent is very similar to the JPG Fleur du Male. However, Fleur du Male is noted clearly trace the line “Le Male” which is not present in Custo Man
Although would prefer JPG, I must consider this Custo as a great perfume.
    Excellent.
Highly recommended for all men manly, confident and who like to make a difference.
Also worth noting that this perfume has a very attractive price for its quality.

This has nothing to do with “male” fragrance!!
It open with lot,a lot of orange blossom sweetned by tonka ,something i will expect from women’s perfumes.
The smell is very soft, calm, powdery, something will make u focus.
If u like fahrenheit 32 or fleur de male this is similar but lighter.
Not bad as a female fragrance,i am really thinking that francis kurkidjan doesn’t believe in fragrances gendre.
Well there is two: masculin and feminine.

Every year I’m going during vacation to the Far East just for business. There we have monsoon, very hot and extremely humid weather. As a person completely addicted to fragrances I always have a problem what is best to wear there. Last year I took “Io” by Crthusia and this fragrance worked perfectly. Today very close fiend of mine gave me a gift – Custo Man and realy I can imagine it will be the grail for this weather. Custo is composed of neroli, citruses and tonka. All together give perfect freshness with little sweetness. It has also this very characteristic powdery nuances that neroli can create. Perfect for summer. It can be easily compared to the Fleur du male but this one is much lighter however has the same silage and lasts forever. Another masterpiece by Francis Kurkdjian with neroli in the heart.

I agree with those who find this similar to JPG, but, c’mon people, this is a fantastic fragrance. It is citrusy/sweet, it has very good sillage (average longevity), and the best part is that is not expensive. I think this is a great alternative for those of us who love sweet fragrances. It opens quite citrusy, but quickly turns into an amazing sweet syrup. Tonka and musk are easily detectable. I think it is a great choice for sweet-lovers.

This is a nice fragrance on the top and medium notes. By no means original, that place corresponds to Lolita Lempicka au Masculin, which ten years before did this in a much better way. At first it is very floral and appealing, I find it a strong yet not cloying and definitely masculine scent. I wonder why it sometimes dries down to a bleachy sour smell, both on skin and fabric, what makes me warn you: wait for this stage before you buy it. I haven’t yet decided whether to go for it or not since it is cheaper (in both price and quality) than some masterpieces so in a way it’s a good one to start by if you want to get into floral-gourmandish trendy young scents. I smell a hint of star anise but it isn’t listed above. This isn’t a safe scent for everyone, some may feel it has no subtlety, some others may find it a bit tacky but be sure that if you like it, it’s a good choice as far as longevity and sillage are concerned. I definitely prefer a guy smelling this way than most of the commonplace mainstream aquatic and sport fragrances. On the whole, a nice scent for informal parties and outdoor walks in mid spring. Be careful and don’t overspray!

Got a sample today, and I am all hyped up! After a quick sniff, it’s a bit oriental and floral sweet with a hint of Le Male character then it quickly become just floral scent like neroli. I really like the scent tho. It’s different and a bit avante garde. It has this unconventional feel to it, and I can’t describe it 100% quite yet. I also smell something like scented plastic, which I don’t like. Overall scent, so far, is oriental-like sweet, floral, and strangely unique. Unconventional for guy, and I could see some women wear it.

This one really surprised and turned out to be quite a catch for my collection. Custo Man is a very floral scent. Some men might not be secure enough to wear this but if you’re a fan of Prada Amber, then you will want to give this one a try. Longevity is above average. I had to buy my bottle from Ebay because this is only sold in Spain… I don’t regret my blind purchase at all.

Since Custo Barcelona belongs to my favorite luxury fashion brands I felt happy and excited when I first noticed that there was a very first new fragrance for men launched by this fashion house.
After having read about the fragrance notes here on Fragrantica, I expected it to be a fresh fragrance dominated by citrus and spicy notes. But my expectation turned out to be totally wrong. I don’t know why, but it seems as if perfumers have the ability to create certain scents without putting the fitting notes to their creation, since Custo Barcelona “Custo Man” smells totally flowery. This is rather a floral – green scent in my opinion.
When smelling this fragrance you get the impression of walking through a blooming flowerbed during midsummer somewhere in the Mediterranean. Lavender in the top and slightly soapy in the base. Melted ice-cream, bubble-gum and lemonade are some other impressions which come to my mind. The color which belongs to this perfume has to be purple, since this is the color which expresses the mysterious and the dreamy of the youth.
The target group seem to be rather young people between 15-40 years of age. Not for business or special events, but for leisure time and everyday purpose.
I have to admit that I’m in love. And this will be a long-term relationship, of course!

Este perfume podría llamarse perfectamente “JPG Fleur Du Male Fresh”. Tiene la misma base floral que Fleur Du Male y ambos son del mismo creador.
