Description

After Coach for Men fragrance from 2017, Coach (Interparfums) is launching a new masculine Coach Platinum perfume in the summer of 2018. “Coach Platinum takes you on a road trip across America that ends in New York City.”

The composition, described as a fresh oriental, is signed by perfumer Bruno Jovanovic.  It contains notes of sage and sandalwood as the dominant ones, complemented by the fruity pineapple accord at the top, aromatic tones in the heart, and patchouli and vanilla leather in the base.

Coach Platinum is available as a 60 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

If TLC had the hit Crazy Sexy Cool, then Coach pulled off the hit Cozy Sexy Cool. This stuff is cozy, sexy and definitely great for cool weather. I purchased the other day while at the mall. While in another store waiting for my gf to check out in line, I opened the box and sprayed a small sample on my wrist. Within 5 seconds, the store manager came over asking me what I sprayed because it smelled so amazing.
One thing I hate is when people say “it smells just like blah blah blah because Jeremy Fragrance or some other jackass said so” then you see opinions being shaped around that versus using their own damn nose to determine what smells good to them. That being said, I smell a small resemblance to Chanel Allure Homme

Smells like a cross between Prada Carbon and Dior Sauvage EDP (I’ve owned both). Waste of time although I prob prefer this more than both those two. Prada has too much lavander while Dior is too much ambrox.. this one leaning slightly more like the prada though.

I really love the original Coach for men and it’s currently one of my favorite from my 80+ bottles. The pear note on the original is nicely paired with the vanilla and ambroxan and I just wish it lasted longer on my skin, that’s why I always carry an atomizer when wearing the original coach if I’ll be out for more than 3 hours.
Now to Coach Platinum, this is a linear scent on my skin. It has a very sweet and creamy vanilla and Juniper Berries. I could barely smell the other notes like the pineapple. This is more of a night time and cold weather scent unlike the original Coach for men which has more character. The sweet creamy vanilla and juniper berries can be smelled from the beginning up to the end. This lasts longer than the original though.
If you’re on the fence of which one to buy, I would suggest the original Coach for Men over the Coach Platinum. This is just my own opinion since fragrances are subjective and you might enjoy the sweet and creamy vanilla of the Platinum over the balanced sweet vanilla, pear and ambroxan. I give the original 8/10(would give it a 9 if it lasted longer on my skin) and 6/10 for the Platinum. The original is more versatile over the Platinum since you can wear it during summer time, because it’s not too loud.

Coach platinum EDP, is a great release for the colder weather and nights, the opening is fresh that dries down to this amazing sweet vanilla leather scent that lasts very long time in my skin 10 + hours with pretty good projection for the first 3 hours. In my option it has similar dna from the original just a more mature scent. A true EDP
    Worth buying !
I’m still amateur so I can’t really go into the note brakedown but this one is a winner in my book and will be wearing it this fall and winter.
Top ten from my fall and winter fragrance collection this year.

I hate the sprayer… but i love this fragrance : vanilla-powdery (slight). Clean, soft and safe. A crowd pleaser.
Versatile, but in the cold months.
Performance : good longevity and moderate projection.
It reminds me a more versatile version of Givenchy PI.
Yves St-Laurent Y (edp), One Million Lucky, Coach Platinum and… Boss The Scent Private accord (wonderful !) are among the best releases of 2018.

First things first. Buy this Cologne. You won’t regret it. Its got some of the original DNA in it but upped the classiness. If I had to give a description I’d say it’s a creamy, grown up version of something like Versace Eros. I get absolutely no Sauvage or Aventus comparison. Definitely recommend this to people 25+. 5 hours of power. Colder weather fragrance.
    Pros: •Great compliment getter.
    •Reasonable Price.
    •Unique (It’s not Sauvage/ B.D.C)
    •Above average Performance.
Cons: •I’m still not in love with the atomizer.
•Bottle looks like a blued gun barrel so it’s
    Fingerprint magnet.
•Might be too sweet for some. Careful with
    the trigger finger.
Conclusion: Get to a department store and smell it. You definitely can’t go wrong with this as your signature fall scent. Your lady will or should love it. Would make a great Xmas gift.

remember guys everything that is ever released smells like Dior Sauvage or Invictus (or Invictus Aqua)!
So if Coach for Men smells like Dior Sauvage, then whats the difference between this one and Coach Platinum?
And hey why don’t ppl say this smells like Dylan Blue? Since Dylan Blue (to some ppl / a lot of ppl) smells like Dior Sauvage?
Just saying I think ppl need to smell more fragrances because not everything that has similar notes smell the same, there is a huge difference between this and Sauvage like they aren’t even close, Original Coach for Men had more common grounds with Sauvage than this does.
And yeah I have both the EDP and EDT of Sauvage. Just reading reviews for ppl is getting redundant with the lack of description ppl use, it’s like they’ve smelled 2 fragrances ever and both happen to be Dior Sauvage!
These 2 frags have ONE Note in common that I see and that’s Vanilla! (oh sorry they have black pepper also!) Even if this does have Ambroxan there is no way that those 2 notes make this smell like Sauvage, c’mon guys
For the person who gets sick when they smell this, it’s probably because of the combination of Patchouli+Sandalwood+Sage, Sandalwood + almost anything herbal messes with most ppls sense of smell in a bad way so thats also why sandalwood based fragrances (generally) aren’t as popular because it’s a weird wood note and tbh Cedarwood is just a more likable scent that doesn’t mess with ppl the way sandalwood does (or Aoud for that matter)

Decent scent. Personally I like the original better. This is a solid nighttime (not club) scent due to the vanilla.

  9. :

This fragrance seems to be a cross between CK Eternity Now and Dior Sauvage. I SMELL AMBROXAN (Not listed as a note). I may actually be allergic to ambroxan, because it disagrees with me instantly. I immediately become nauseous when I come in contact with it. On that note, this Coach Platinum concoction is fine until the dry down. I initially tried it on the tester card. It starts with a smooth, sweet vanilla vibe with a touch of freshness and what seems to be a hint of pineapple/coconut. VERY NICE. Then, it dries down to a different tune that’s hard to describe. I actually thought that the store attendant had mistakenly given me a sample of a new type of Sauvage instead of Coach Platinum when I tried it at home and allowed it to come alive. Anyhow, this fragrance will be great for most, but not for those who can’t tolerate ambroxan or whatever is in this that smells like it.
BEWARE: This fragrance is a smooth operator that will BAIT you with a REALLY APPEALING opening and SWITCH to an unknown character that is eerily similar to the “Johnny Depp” stuff. Ultimately, if you like that stuff, then you’ll love this stuff…probably enough to make you wanna strut your stuff. However, if you’re not a fan of that stuff, then this stuff will not be the right stuff for you.

  10. :

    3 out of 5

    Great scent.
I am 100% sure ambroxin is a note, even thought it is not publicly listed.
Kind of smells like Dior Savauge edp with less citrus, and more vanilla with less performance.
Would be great for the fall.

I was looking forward to this one, got a sample and must say that its very similar to Prada l’homme.

  12. :

    4 out of 5

Tried it. I get really good projection for 3-4 hours with 5 sprays. Longevity is awesome on me 10-12 hours and even better on clothes
I’m getting a bottle soon and yes on the drydown I get that same metallic ambroxan note as sauvage. Specially if you get a little water on it, you’ll know what I mean. Just wet your hands a little bit and flick it on your skin where you sprayed and there you go haha 😀

  13. :

    4 out of 5

This scent is awesome like vanilla cake, longevity is great but projection is not good (close encounter) because edp concentrate maybe. It will be perfect for dates because inoffensive.
    Signature scent for sure.

  14. :

1st spray = headache, Sage start (bad)
10min in vanilla/leather very masculine comforting
    Sandalwood in the background
Leather accord seems to be more dominant then the vanilla. Comes off as a bit smokey.
    Difficult.
2h in is drys down and the magic is gone
Remains as a sweet vanilla skin scent.
Worth it? I am certain there are better ones but when it’s sold for €20,- … jup, worth it on that mark…

  15. :

to me it doesn’t smell like sauvage.
I get a really airy quality on this one and a sweetness as well that is nice. I would say this is as about as safe as it gets when it comes to the bleu/clean/fresh craze that’s been going on, I don’t get a shower gel vibe from this but more like “i’m in the shower” sort of vibe.
it’s blind buy worthy and there really isn’t anything else to analyze here, it is super safe/fresh and not overpowering in any way, ppl forget about the man sized balls Sauvage carries with each spray; you could spray Sauvage 2 times and you will know you are wearing Sauvage and ppl will know it.
This though? I mean you could spray this 10 times and it’s just gonna smell super clean / safe / generic
TBH when i first smelled this I was reminded of ‘Tommy’ more so than Dior Sauvage, there are similarities and differences for sure but that higher/brighter Citrus this has and how Airy it is I didn’t get any sort of Sauvage dna/vibe, I just thought about how this reminded me of being a 7th grader stealing a few sprays of my older brothers bottle of ‘Tommy’ before school.
IDK this whole craze is stupid now, this doesn’t smell like Sauvage at all to me to be frank
It’s blind buy worthy though, it’s signature scent worthy and i would say this is actually slightly less versatile than some of the other bleu/fresh scents because it does have a higher / brighter citrus note. To me this is Office / Work / Outside day-to-day worthy just like the others but anything Formal / Business Formal i wouldn’t reach for this because it’s too young, too bright and too playful and I think that’s where this scent doesn’t quite reach the same caliber as Sauvage / Bleu De Chanel / Aqua Di Gio (prolly not even Dylan Blue tbh)
it’s a solid 7.5-8/10, it’s a younger vibe going for it imo and because of that it isn’t quite as versatile
still though if you are looking for a day-to-day fire and forget type of scent then this is a good choice

I was offered to smell Coach Plat while shopping for Dylan Blue. It made such a good impression that I ended up buying a bottle after 5 minutes of smelling it.
There’s nothing really unique about this one compared to other designer brands. It’s a crowd pleaser, inoffensive, warm and inviting. There are plenty of other fragrances out there that does a lot better than Coach, but this is definitely is something to look into if you want a laid back fall scent.

  17. :

    4 out of 5

If you’re looking for a lighter Dior Sauvage cologne, this is it. It’s not office safe. More for a cold weather day. Best for when you’re wearing heavy clothes. The longevity is a little weak too, after a couple of hours it turns into a skin scent. The projection is moderate. For $10 bucks more you can get Dior Sauvage 100ml. Not a bad scent but Dior does it better.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

    I don’t like it.
It has nothing in common with Dior Sauvage. It is sharp and sweet. Too sweet. Not sure if it’s the vanilla, but the sweetness is off-putting for me. Not a huge fan of the original, but this one I really don’t like.
On me, became a skin scent after 2 hours.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

This is a safe, mass appealling scent with the same vibe as   Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme Chanel but blended with different notes. It also reminds me my beloved  Kajal Homme Kajal.
It is suitable for year round use, day and night. It’s not something completely new but it’s very well blended.
Dominant notes are vanilla, sage, juniper and pineapple at the background. There’s also harsh but mild cashmeran, faint leather, faint sandalwood, vivid black pepper, mild geranium and noticeable pineapple which gives a delicate sweetness to the blend. As time passes the pineapple passes to the background but never dies.
This has edp concentration so it should perform better. Moderate longevity/sillage and limited projection.
This Coach is NOT similar to Chanel Extreme, Kajal Homme. It has structural similarities only.
I do not get the similarity with Dior Sauvage as some reviewers say. The acidity comes from the notes (juniper-black pepper-sage-geranium) and not from a simple ambroxan note.

Just got my bottle in the mail.
Wow, I would say this stuff is more like 50-60% Dior Suavage with a slight hint of there original Coach for Men DNA.
I am shocked at how similar this is to Sauvage. It has the same exact ambroxan note – Identical!
The pineapple is there initially up front, but very faint, and it fades super quickly.
The dry down is a slightly powdery vanilla/ambroxan mix. I will be comparing this side by side with Sauvage later tonight.
    UPDATE:
    Side-by-side test……
Both start out incredibly similar. In fact i wouldn’t know which is which if I didn’t label them.
5 min in the vanilla creaminess starts to appear in Coach Platinum. Dior Sauvage starts becoming more citrus.
10 min in, Dior is a beautiful citrus-ambroxan combo. Coach is a very nice vanilla-ambroxan combo. Comparing the two right next to each other, the Coach almost has a Vanilla Birthday Cake vibe to it.
30 min/Drydown – The Dior has a more happy, citrus, playful scent. The Coach has a happy creamy vanilla, scent. Both loaded with the EXACT same ambroxan ratio.
    ***Disclaimer***
The description of Coach was used as a direct result of side-by-side testing. If I didn’t do the side-by-side test, I don’t think I would’ve gotten such a huge vanilla note. Since they are so similar, the smaller things are much easier to point out.
Well there you have it….I would say Coach Platinum is VERY similar to Dior Sauvage. Sauvage is more playful while Coach is more laid back.
The winner is Sauvage, however, Coach Platinum is a nice surprise.

Coach Platinum is definitely good. The best move may be to wait for it to hit the discount shops since it doesn’t have the ‘must-have’ quality. HOWEVER, if you want a vanilla-leaning, creamier, significantly less ‘sporty’ version of Coach for men (CFM)…get your nose on it now.
Great for the Fall. Much sexier, more sensual that CFM. I promise that once the molecules hit the air, the scent will be familiar to your nose, and white pleasant. The question is, will it be unique enough to make you want to buy it right there on the spot.
Solid dry down, good performance and silage, nice bottle.
Sauvage comparisons are not completely off. I would say 20% Dior Sauvage EDT*, 20% Coach for men, 60% Pegasus by Parfums de Marley. Pegasus and Platinum bottles are very similar… just saying.

Had to get this ASAP because of my love for the original & all the hype of platinum. First impression as I just got my bottle today from Macy’s kinda disappointed as it reminds me of a mix between 1 million lucky & savauge with a tiny bit of original coach dna all of which I already own. Opening is very nice & a quick powdery vanilla savauge dry down. Nice scent tho but I prefer the original coach for men.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

another crowd pleaser from Coach and it doesn’t smell like Sauvage it has moderate performance better than Coach for men but not by much good for office settings or close quarters work environments. Very safe scent not unique
you can wait for it to hit discount stores

  24. :

@ Bkkorn, Coach Platinum, Does Not smell remotely close to Scent of Peace for Him. Two completely different species!

  25. :

    3 out of 5

I dont really see why there is any hype around this. It opens nicely but after 5min the top notes fade and you’re left with a sickeningly sweet mess of notes. I could not wait to scrub this off. The original coach for men was nothing great but definitely better than this in terms of scent character.
In terms of new releases, how is this being talked about positively and Y EDP is written off as a dud? Y EDP is nothing great but I would wear that over this any day.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

With the pineapple and juniper berries, how does this compare to bond9 Scent of Peace for Him?
They both list the same openings

  27. :

As usual, ignore the reviews this is nothing like Sauvage, god knows what people’s intentions are to mislead others so much on here

Just got my bottle of Coach Platinum today. Smells great, but VERY similar to Sauvage. Too many people compare way too many fragrances to Sauvage that smell nothing like it in my opinion, but in this case, it’s definitely jerky a similar smell. More smooth, less anbroxan, not as loud, and has some vanilla and pineapple I don’t get from Sauvage. Live the scent (I enjoy Sauvage as well) and is my best smelling purchase of 2018 so far!!

  30. :

    5 out of 5

It is like Montblanc Legend mixed with original coach for men. Pleasant fresh sweet and complement garner. One of the smoothest ambrox scents.
However, it is a totally redundant release and nothing new or original here, just an iteration of the current market trend.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

Wow. This is what the original should have been. Now for the review.
This is releasing at Dillards on August 17th 2018, they do have samples which is what I drew my opinion from. You can also check out my youtube review coming soon for this @ Scents Of Smell and Subscribe while you are at it, thanks in advance.
Now, This is going to be one of the best releases of 2018, In my opinion, it is up there with One Million Lucky, not in terms of smell but in term of success or appreciation. Now to the heartbreaking part for me, sigh, it smells like a creamy, slightly less sour and more sweet Dior Sauvage, but wait, I prefer this over Sauvage, yes I said it! Its the Pineapple note that I smell in the air along with the pepper and something like ambroxan for depth that has my mouth watering. When you smell it up close you smell whatever herb they used, the geranium and the BERGAMOT is very noticeable. But, in the air it smells like creamy pineapple dusted with a bit of powder or Vanilla.
What are fragheads going to say: “Its a redundant release” “If you have sauvage, you don’t need this” “Its boring and not creative” “Typical crowd pleaser”
What do I say: “If you’re tired of smelling sauvage on other guys but like the DNA and want to smell a bit unique while smelling great, Get this over Dior Sauvage. It is a crowd pleaser just like sauvage, you’re going to smell fresh, clean and very sexy wearing this”
My Honest Ratings (I’m a Designer Fraghead):
    Smell: 8.5/10
Performance: 8/10 Projecting for almost 3 hours, 3 sprays
    Versatility:9.5/10
Value: 7.5/10 Signature Scent worthy for sure
Overall: 9/10 , It will Rise!

Sampled at Dillard’s today. The hype train is rolling on this one, especially when the SA claims its exclusive to their store for one month before anyone else. “And you can pre-order yours for only $92!” What a bunch of bullshit. The fragrance smells good, not gonna lie. But come on, can we get a new release that is actually unique? It seems like perfumers are just tinkering with the same crowd-pleasing aroma chemicals that you can find in all the latest designer fragrances. This is not worth owning for $92. I’ll consider it next year when its half price.

This smells like Brut for men (I love that scent) I’m not the only one that thought that. This line is coming off as cheap, these fragrances are lacking in quality and it’s a shame

They were handing out samples of this at Dillards recently. It’s not officially available for pre-order for another week or so. I’ve been wearing the sample for a few days. It’s heavy on sage and has a sporty, musky, soapy smell. The pineapple is there on opening, but fades quickly. Projection is good and longevity is fantastic. This will be a great daytime office scent and I’m sure sales will be through the roof. If you like clean, fresh, soapy scents, then this will be your jam!
    Scent: 8/10

A very fresh/safe scent. Reminds me immensely of Jimmy Choo man (even the bottles are the same color).
Smells very fresh but has some kick to it thanks to the sandalwood. A very good, safe fragrance.

Smelled a decant from Dillard’s today. This is NOT Aventus or even close. Aventus did not even come to mind upon firat whiff. It has its own DNA and it has been done VERY well. I will be getting this bottle soon… before release if I can persuade the fragrance manager. 🙂
