Description

Coach Leatherware No. 02 is a lively, artisanal fragrance that begins with citruses and rhubarb. They lead to the energetic heart of black pepper, crisp greens and thyme and the base made of oak moss, patchouli, musk and baseball glove leather accord (“a distinctive, masculine note inspired by our tradition in leatherware”). Available as 95 ml EDT. Coach Leatherware No. 02 was launched in 2013.

Coach Leatherware No. 2 seems to be the most popular of the discontinued trio and, fittingly, somewhere between the more floral No. 1 and more purely-leather No. 3.
No. 2 opens with citrus, leading to black pepper, and eventually a dry down to the leather itself, with patchouli and oakmoss giving an earthy variety. This is mainly citrus at the opening that gives way to pepper and leather in the dry down, though, and it’s elegant in its simplicity. Somehow provocative yet relatively safe, it’s a stimulating exploration of the leather note that’s likely to please but may not dazzle most. For me, though, this is a comfortable leather fragrance that actually smells a bit like leather rather than being an artistic or boastful creation that has a bit too much going on for my leather appetite (i.e. Tuscan Leather). I’m not a huge leatherr love since I seldom fine ones I deem worth paying high-end money for, especially, but this is an agreeable one worth pursuing, just like No. 1 and No. 3.
Performance is solid, great longevity and above average projection for hours.
This and No. 1 and easier to find than No. 3, so try sampling it and nabbing a bottle while you can!

Why isn’t neroli listed on the notes? It is listed on the bottle and it has a very distinct, obvious neroli scent with the leather. Great fragrance; I get compliments from strangers every time I wear it!

This is a gorgeous leather perfume. Beautiful, brand new, soft and delicate, leather. I love it. I love the smell of leather, and this is very very delicious. It has a touch of spice, and it’s soft and mysterious, warm and enticing, very comforting. Gorgeous.

I had gotten decants of Leatherware No.s 1,2 and 3 a while back, and decided to revisit them over the last couple days.
All three are definitely beautiful leather scents:
No. 02 – my least favorite of the three, but I still like this beautiful scent a lot. Fairly linear for me, it’s peppery-woody, with a new baseball glove scent on an almost equal footing. Lasts fairly well, also 6-8 hours.
No. 01 – reminds me of a refined version of English Leather or Black Suede, and like others have said, it’s the dry down that makes it worth it. It becomes a nice creamy leather, with a hint of a typical 70s-80s men’s “powerhouse” cologne wafting through the background (none in particular, just the typical “green” fougere). On me it lasts fairly long, still smelling it after at least 7-8 hours.
No. 03 – the boldest of the three. I’m not sure which is my favorite – #1 or #3 (would depend on my mood at the time). It’s a rich leather, and to me has a slight smoky and fruity quality. In fact, my first impression of it was that it reminds me a lot of Afnan Supremacy Silver (a very good Aventus clone), but with a leathery base added. Again, good longevity for me, comparable to the others.

This is a great Leather and floral scent. The price has just drop through the floor so please if you like a long lasting leather scent that has the identity of say a Tom Ford brand then this is the one for you outta this coach series of fragrances. its a rich deep leather and raspberry scent. I’m talking very rich scent, it kinda reminds me of a the original Tuscany with its rich deep smell, not the scent per say but just that heavy only for the fall type smell. so if your in to the deep leather smell then get this while its at this price and still around.

    THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY!
Many times upon smelling a fragrance I say to myself “I will be back to get this”. Well I was not so blessed this time. I have come to find out that this lovely juice has been discontinued. Brokenhearted as I am I began to shop around online for it only to find that the price has been marked up on it. Call that good old Supply and Demand.
Never the less, I was given an opportunity to test this on myself and I loved it. This artisanal fragrance dances around the nose and heart, in no way is offensive or overbearing. The strong citrus and rhubarb rests comfortably in a leather pouch giving it a sharp yet soft and sophisticated smell that can be enjoyed by all who surround you.
    Longevity 7/10
Silage 7/10 (Performance Slightly Above Average)
    Thanks For Reading,

THIS. . .. .is a leather cologne. WOW. Perfect.
To me, this smells like a brand new baseball glove was treated with really good automobile leather cleaner/conditioner. I don’t know how else to put it.
Of no.’s 1, 2 and 3, this is absolutely “NEW LEATHER”. the other two are “leather and some other neat stuff”. Please try all three, see for yourself, but if you’re looking for that straight-up, clean, new leather smell, THIS is the one. 9/10 for me, now the search commences for a full bottle.
*edit: 5/23/15 Coach just cut the price IN HALF on these. They’re $48 on their site right now.

A great and unexpected find. Have had it for about a year now, and it’s versatile enough to be worn anytime. What you see is what you get, and what you get is leather. From start to finish. Mixed in, I also get pepper, and a hint of neroli. But the leather scent is really nice, not overpowering or dated, not too strong or cloying, just right. Unfortunately, sillage and longevity aren’t the best, about an hour after applying, only I know I’m wearing it and that too if I really try and get a whiff.
UPDATE: I think it’s mislabeled by Coach as an EDP; I think it’s definitely an EDC since it goes on very light (doesn’t feel syrupy when applying), feels very light while being worn, and has very low sillage and longevity.

My least favorite of the series. It is a slightly peppery leather with some citrus spicy in the background. However it has a powdery old school patchouli vibe that is a bit feminine to my nose reminding me of old school women’s scents. Not for me. I prefer #1 and #3

Really like this scent.. A LOT. I tried it once when my wife was shopping Coach for bags and was impressed with it sprayed directly onto the white sampler stick. Put some on my arm and it became more impressive as the day wore on. It’s masculine, but not overwhelmingly so. It’s leathery, of course, but again not overwhelmingly so. I would have paid full price and bought a bottle right then and there had I not already bought a bottle of Dolce&Gabbana The One… which I found to be good at first but rather ho-hum. This is my new daily scent. I just heard that Coach is in the process of replacing their Men’s scents, so I dropped by a brick and mortar storefront and grabbed a bottle at half price! That’s right, 95ml for only $48. Now that’s a score! This amber colored juice doesn’t project obnoxiously and likewise doesn’t last longer than about four or five hours. In fact, after two or three hours, you’d have to get right up on a fella to get a good whiff. But I bought this scent for me, for daily wear, as it mixes really well with my personal chemistry. I found the others in the collection to be a bit much, either too clean watery or far too dank for my sensibilities. I know that Leatherware No. 2 is soon to unavailable, so I’ll just grab another bottle before they’re all gone. This happens to me all the time. I finally find something I truly love just before it is replaced by something else. I guess that is what makes this game so much fun.

Love this. While I’ve not received very many compliments on it, I wear it for me. Channels fresh new leather and settles warmly on my skin. It’s not over-done and complicated, just simple, full-on leather. Tried all 3 in the series, but this is by far my favorite.

    Spicy leather…
I’ve sampled Leatherware 1, 2 and 3. Of the three I find this one the more exotic of all. Exotic due to the spicy notes. It is elegant, exotic, and attractive, with a mysterious twist. Some people describe it like smelling a baseball glove. I don’t think it quite smells like that, but it does smell distinctively from the other 2 brothers in the line. Like its Leatherware brothers, this is just another delicious and different take of leather on the series. I love it.
