Dark juicy rose powerhouse. I don’t get oud, really only just rose but a good one. Wouldn’t mind if more leather came out. For me it’s linear. I like rose but such a dominant rose is not so much me that I’d buy a FB. That said, I really like this and the generous decant I got in a swap (thank you marico :)) will be perfect. I’ll use it when I feel like a blast of unfettered hothouse red rose, as I do every now and then. It actually smells impressively natural to me – just amped up larger than life. The performance is fantastic, especially on my perfume-eating skin. I wish more perfumes had performance like this. If this were a dress, it might be Jessica Rabbit’s. I definitely disagree this is more a man’s scent. I see it as unisex.

Just Medicinal rose with medicnal oud.
Very thick, concentrated, potent and powerful. Stays forever and Projects everehere.
For winter, dressed up, one spray from a distance then put the jacket and you are ready to go.

    @OudSan
If I recall correctly Black to Black was a Middle Eastern exclusive, which is why some people have claimed it was fairly difficult to get, especially in the US (even though Notino had them for sale I belive).
Perhaps that is why Montale claims this one is discontinued….anyway like I mentioned below if you already own Black Aoud you are, in my opinion, not missing much; they are nearly identical.

Guys, I called the Montale boutique in Paris to ask them about Black To Black, and they told me that is was discontinued since 3 years !
Which is strange since it was released 3 years ago..can someone help explain ?

This and Black Aoud by Montale are nearly identical. Hell I’d say they are the same scent just named differently.
The opening is very dark and pungent. I get the patchouli and the rose/aoud combo shortly after. For any of you who have smelled Black Aoud you will know how this would smell like. This also counts for several other Montale rose/oud releases. The dry down is to me the best part of this scent as it really smells very smooth and the rose, patchouli, and aoud just work well together.
I really do think this is a great fragrance which is definitely suitable for both women and men. Some users have said this has nuclear projection but I found it be just fine. Longevity is much better at 8+ hours (more on clothes of course).
    8/10

I had a sample of this perfume and I want to buy it on first occasion… I will get back with a detailed review… The only thing I don’t understand by viewing the statistics regarding the use opinions is how can someone rate this perfume for weak lasting power or weak silage.. I barely swiped some on my neck and it lasted on me till the next day, with two people asking me about what I am wearing..

The oud and rose give the leather a slick, almost shiny feel – the first thought that pops into mind is a deep red patent leather. The rose note in this reminds me of the Perfumer’s Shop Tea Rose, but is made dangerous and sexy by the oud and leather combo. Truly unisex – I think of a powerful, ruthless business man or woman who, although they may have a cold personality, somehow are still magnetic and intriguing. Something I appreciate at a distance catching a whiff of it as I move my arms around rather than when I smell it up close, so I’d recommend not spraying this on the neck or chest area to have a bit of an air cushion between your nose and the fragrance. Much more wearable in my opinion than Montale’s rose-oud fragrances.

it´s not heavy projection, soft rose/aoud version of montale black aoud

Don’t buy this fragrance there’s no top or heart notes, I just smell one note which is rose water the (cheap one) . What I mean it’s a synthetic scent.

    Two words: Have. Love.
It has some of the best qualities of Guerlain Santal Royal, but in a more gutsy, masculine scent with better performance and less sweetness.
It also reminds me a little of Rasasi Khaltat Al Oudh (but not Khaltat Al Khasa, which is a different scent). Black to Black has far better performance than the Rasasi Khaltat Al Oudh though.
Black to Black even resembles Rasasi Faqat Lil Rijal in some ways, but with less standard woodiness and more oudy/rosy goodness, especially in the drydown.
I like this a lot more than Montale Black Aoud, because this has more oud. I also prefer it to Juliette Has A Gun Midnight Oud because this has far better performance.
@Jewelpaq, I like your attitude: “I am going to enjoy wearing this and people are going to love having me around.”
I rarely ever receive compliments, but I got a compliment about this scent. Recommended!

At first I could not figure this fragrance out. I wore it but it really did nothing for me. I just could not smell it on me. I wore it 3 straight days and just was not impressed. Today the temperature was freezing cold 10 degrees and I sprayed myself from head to toe and looked at the bottle and said last chance to impress me. WELL when my nose hit that freezing cold air I could smell the most BEAUTIFUL FRAGRANCE. I was like OMG this is what I smell like? I am IN LOVE with Mancera Black to Black. This is a very strong fragrance and you will get Olfactory Fatigue quickly and will not be able to smell it BUT it is there and RADIATING BIG TIME. I am hooked and this is a cold weather fragrance. It SINGS in the cold weather and cuts right thru the freezing cold. I went to visit my mother and when she opened her front door she immediately said, YOU SMELL SO BEAUTIFUL. Mancera Black to Black get your nose on it. Great Cold Weather Fragrance.

Okay, sprayed one bust of this on my wrist about 26 hours ago, after 2 showers and a few hand scrubs, not because it’s bad but because i want to wear a different scent,i can still smell it, i am now wearing about 10 sprays of m7 oud absolu and this B2B is beasting above it, yes it is, there should be a warning on the box telling you not to make plans to wear any other scents in 48 hours after spraying, YEAP, this is coming from someone with a signature scent of eau sauvage parfum 2012 and also loves oud palao.
now for the scent,if you’ve never eaten turkish delight, try that first before buying this fragrance, if you’re comfortable with that smell on you for days then please buy this, this is what a turkish delight production factory smells like,YEAP.
    Projection: NUCLEAR
    Longevity: NUCLEAR
This should have a radioactive warning on the bottle.

Wow & wow. This scent is the beast of beasts. I am so glad that I have it in my collection of over 200 bottles of designer & niche fragrances. This is one hell of a fragrance that gives the wearer, power, confidence, authority. Serious attitude & player attitude, whatever the wearer wants to be. This is sex in a bottle.
I wish that I had purchased this before.
I am going to enjoy wearing this and people are going to love having me around when I have just one spray of this scent on me, as that is all you need.
I get a soft manly rose & aoud with some soap. This is predominantly a mans fragrance, but a woman could wear this and men would be all around her.
I would say that it is an all year round fragrance, but I would prefer to wear it during the evenings, as it may be a little too much for daytime wear at the office. It could be done, but I would get too much attention and I want staff to concentrate on working.
Well done Mancera. This is a masterpiece……..

To me, this starts off with some shocking top notes of rubber, salt and something akin to creosote.
    My first impression was ‘WTF!’
Fortunately that lasts for only a few minutes, probably the alcohol evaporation stage.
    And then……THEN it begins!
After the distinctly frightening opening, here are the notes that hit me first, in this order:
1: A deep wood. Not a dry wood like in something like Raghba Wood Intense but more of a moist, almost grassy wood. Very rich.
2: Bergamot. Not a sweet citrus but a slightly bitter accord, more like the peel than the juice.
3: Rose. A dark, intense rose like when you smell the live flower on a bush in the hot sun.
4: Patchouli. Straight up patchouli oil, the kind I used to smell when I lived with a bunch of Hippies in Glastonbury Town in Somerset. Like, wow man!
Those are the notes I could make out before I checked out the actual note pyramid on here.
This gives me a serious flashback to Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum (Pre-2017) and I initially find it to be quite similar to my nose albeit less sweet and more bitter with even darker undertones. Definitely in the same ballpark for me and I own DESP.
Classy, mature, rich, dark, refined and smooth.
After six hours on my skin, it develops into a very Arabic perfume smelling scent. Oud, rose and leather.
Longevity? Very good! Projection/Sillage? It’s BEAST MODE EXTREME!
    Count me happy.

Top notes are harsh for a minute or two. It goes on a true camphorous barnyard oud but then the rose starts to shine through. It’s still more oud than rose but the rose is there prominently with a hint of leather and saffron. Only oud lovers will like this. I am an oud lover, and this is an okay to me or a like but not a love. That opening turned my stomach. And, everyone mixes rose with oud. It’s getting old. Same old same old.

Black to Black is very similar to Mancera’s “The Aoud” and from what I can recall even Montale’s Black Aoud. There is a hint of Mancera’s Aoud S in there somewhere with the leather…
As the fragrance dries down, the similarities vary from B2B, Aoud S, The Aoud, and Black Aoud, however there is stark resemblance represented in them all.
A very nice fragrance that gives off this medicinal, leathery, even rosy sweet vibe. This is a very balanced fragrance from the rose/leather/sweet/oud…I mean just the right touch.
Upfront you get the rose oud combination, as it progresses the oud and leather begin to come to the forefront and the rose sits underneath (not out of sight out of mind) allowing the dark, amber-ish spices to develop alongside the rose.
Black to Black is Aoud S (if you’ve smelled Aoud S by Mancera) toned and tapered down; the leather is not so over-bearing or in your face in this as in Aoud S. I am a fan of Aoud S, just making observation in comparison to B2B.
The difference between The Aoud and Black to Black is The Aoud has more of a musk aroma perhaps from the Saffron, Oud, Sandalwood mix-less sweet more sharp; Black to Black has more of a rosy and leathery, even Patchouli vibe. B2B is darker with a rich amber that brings out a sweetness.
This fragrance is well made but POTENT-so be careful with the trigger. This is your WARNING!!
If you are not careful and over spray, you are prone to do one of six things:
    1. Clear a room!
    2. Cause one’s eyes to water….
    3. Induce a headache for one or more people in close proximity;
    4. Cause the fragrance to become very cloying….
    5. CAUSE PEOPLE TO RUN FROM YOU!
    6. All the above!!
    Longevity: 9/10
    Performance: 9/10
    Silage: 9/10
    Overall: 9/10
IMO, if you have either Mancera’s ‘The Aoud,’ or Montale’s Black Aoud you could pass on this and vice versa. If you are looking for a rose/oud fragrance, any one of these fragrances will do the trick. (Montale) Mancera does a great job with their rose combinations!!
*******P.S. as I go back to look at the notes, both ‘The Aoud’ and ‘Black to Black’ have similar notes; once again, looking at those notes a little more closely; notes that are ‘The Aoud’s’ top are in ‘B2B’s’ mid’s…*******

WOW !!!!!! This is my first ever Mancera perfume and a blind buy . This scent is beast , I had it on three days ago on my jumper and I can still smell it . This scent is not for everyone , since I own few Arabian Ouds so it wasn’t too bad for me but still one of the strongest and longest lasting perfume I own by date. Highly recommended for Cold winter nights , and this stuff is for MAN AND MAN ONLY in my opinion . If you are looking for long lasting winter frag that will linger around on your clothes for days then look no further , buy this beast

This is a very well made oud scent. It is for man, and for MAN only, it doesnt change too much from the start, but I would say it goes just a little bit sweet (but it is a dark and mystitious perfume). Performance of a real EDP… stays on skin till you wash it off, sillage it is great and projects very well, every place you go the perfume stays for a wild, so it is a beast performance. In my colection this is one of the great performers.

I made a blind buy on this one.
Lovely scent at night. Initially did not like it. But I later developed a new love for it.
In a funny way, it reminds me of Bond No. 9 Dubai Emerald. Only that the bergamot keeps popping into my nose. Dubai Emerald is way sweeter and smells way more expensive (it is actually more expensive). I think the similarity is the saffron and Leather notes.
A good scent that gets better on the dry down after 1 hour.

Mancera Black To Black is a really nice woody-spicy scent with a beautiful amber dry down. B2B opens with a bombastic woosy-oody-dark amber acccord and it is also very spicy. While I sense some citrus notes, I can pick-out any specific notes since the spice, wood, amber and oud are so powerful. Ten minutes later and I’m start to detect a more prominent rose – it shows itself, but it really does take a backseat to the blend of spices, woods, oud and amber. The rose feels deep, dark, rich and slighty muted…not at all bright or intense. To me, it’s much like that Turkish Delight Rose in Mancera Black Intensitive Aoud. B2B starts out packing a punch of warm spices and continues that way through the middle before before fading into the background, but never going-away.
Like many Mancera oud fragrances, performance is outstanding; one little spray and the first half-hour of this scent projects like a beast. Moreover, it sits oily on my skin…very oily…so don’t spray this one on your clothes. Moreover, I sense a strong black pepper and clove accord which, I believe, is giving it that spicy zing. Don’t over-spray or this one will make your eyes water during the first hour or two.
After an hour or so I start to sense a lemony note. The scent (1-spray) is still so strong it is making my eyes water. After 4-5 hours it transitions into a gorgeous spiced amber/light-oud scent with a creamy-woods and musky vibe; the spice has toned way down, there is a faint rose in the distant background and perhaps even a whisper of vanilla may be pushing forth. Although I loved the first few hours, some won’t, so try before you buy. However, the drydown is really quite nice and pleasant–which is where this fragrance truly shines–and most people should really love this part of Black To Black.
Update: I just wanted to add that B2B is beast mode extraordinaire! I went 4-5 sprays the first time I used it and it was still easily detectable on my skin 24-hours later and after a shower. I went to work the following day and worked-out later that evening after having come home from work. While breaking into a sweat while doing bench or deadlifts (or whatever I was doing), I could smell B2B reappear 30+ hours later even though I had applied an office fragrance earlier that day. I could still smell B2B on a coat that I had worn more than a year earlier…and I didn’t spray my coat or clothing. So understand you’ll be wearing this one for a while.

Absolutely delicious! Mancera has done it again, luxurious and elegant. I get a lot of oud with rose/patchouli, rounded of by saffron and cloves. Perfect for fall and winter days and nights. It lasts a very long time on me.
