I have a strange relationship with this scent. Back when it was first released on Sephora’s website, I blind bought it because the notes sounded so nice and Jasmine’s my favorite princess (dumb reason to be biased, I know). When I smelt it, I wasn’t impressed with the scent, especially for the price since it was $60+ (after tax) for a 1.7fl. oz. bottle and I wasn’t floored by it, so I sent it back. Recently, I’ve been feeling quite nostalgic for it and bought a bottle off eBay for half the price! Now THAT was a more comfortable price for the size. I love this scent! Funny how I felt “meh” toward it when it was first released compared to now.
It opens up with a very spicy scent (most likely the benzoin) mixed in with a bouquet of flowers. It’s pretty unique in my opinion and is probably what Princess Jasmine would actually smell like. It has a very fantasy Arabian princess vibe to it. After the initial spiciness wears down, I get a rich floral scent followed by a sweetness. It’s not a gourmand kind of sweet, thankfully but more of the floral variety. On me, it’s very long lasting at 11 hours. I think this will be my new signature scent for a while! I went on and bought a second bottle I like it so much!

Blind test at Sephora. Spiced amber and a hint of orange. Pleasant, warm, and youthful. Appropriate for a Disney exotic image. Lasts 2 hours (at most).

I bought the rollerball oil as I liked the notes and had heard the longevity was not so great with this and the Cinderella version of the EDT. I use it for portability as an afternoon pick-me-up and it is a pretty scent. I like the spiciness of the carnation with the amber and slight orange. To me it is fall/early spring, not summer. I get a few hours from it. Nothing unique, but warm and pretty and a nicer quality treat for a Disney princess fan than some of the other offerings out there. Funny, the oil kind of reminds me of perfume oil bar days at the Body Shop. This could have been next to Dewberry and White Musk. The rollerball bottle is really pretty. I wish the EDT wasn’t so pricey for what it is. Little Mermaid is supposed to be next, I wonder if it will be aquatic.
