Mercedes-Benz Man Private is introduced as a premium version of its predecessor, not only the color code has been changed into a beautiful brown but the perfume is also presented in a very qualitative and impactful set. The soft-touch matte bottle is even more pleasant to hold thanks to this warm color, as it gives a sensual feel to it. In the center, the iconic silver Star appears ever more shiny on the glass of the window, which is tinted in a golden light brown. For this ambery woody aromatic fragrance, French Master perfumer Olivier Cresp has concocted a refined spicy recipe… Mercedes-Benz Man Private starts on a fresh yet spicy combination of artemisia, cardamom and cypress. It then moves on to a very rich heart made of notes of lavender, labdanum resinoide and ambrox, before it fully expresses its sensuality thanks to the blend of patchouli, cashmeran and cedarwood – a drydown that perfectly epitomizes the woody signature of the fragrance.

I blind bought a 100ml after all the glaring reviews. I have to say, definitely not for me, as a 30 year old male. I’ve read that it’s what James Bond would wear if he was driving his Aston Martin.
Unfortunately, it smells like a much older scent, and I’d have to imagine James Bond being 70+ wearing this.
The scent is very masculine and high quality. It lasted an entire day on me, with the oriental and incense notes still lingering. But as I’ve said, it’s definitely not for someone of my age group.
Beware, if you are planning on a blind-buy!

Imagine L’Occitane EdB without the sweet vanilla and tonka. That’s what you get from this. The opening is really middle eastern style, it reminds me a bit of Serge Lutens Arabie. I then immediately smell some clove, dried fruits, blackpepper (I’m not quite sure, maybe it’s supposed to be ambroxan), on the background; the foreground was dominated by cypress and the spicyness of cardamom.
The drydown is more westernized, with just a hint of cardamom, an earthy patchouli, and a really noticeable cashmere wood.
Scent wise, this is really creative and interesting, but sadly my SO won’t like it on me (this is the case with many middle eastern fragrance). Performance is great. Versatility not so good. It’s a solid fragrance, I like it.

If you ever been to Middle East local perfume shop – that’s the smell!
Strong, potent, long lasting.
I think it will be a huge hit.
Sadly, definitely not my cup of tea (I don’t like amber smells).

Guys, Mercedes Benz Man Private is a true gem! This scent is mature, daring, masculine, different! Woody, smoky, dark-green… Pure class! What I love about it – it got own character and this scent is not for everybody, it’s not mass appealing fresh or semi-sweet everyday scent.
Private is for a man with manly taste of perfumes. To me, it is better than Gucci Guilty Absolute and Lalique Encre Noire A L`Extreme, because it is more refined and wearable, but still dark and masculine. Bold and brave move from Mercedes and Olivier Cresp.
We all know what Mercedes(Olivier Cresp) did with Mercedes-Benz Cologne 2016 – stunning fresh beauty! Imagine Private got the same high quality of the blend, but in the dark and mature genre! Highly recommended! Bravo Mercedes!

What a splendid fragrance and could quite possibly be the best in the whole MB collection. I can only say the initial blast is certainly one of the best there is for fragrance enthusiasts both new and seasoned. Surely a signature scent for many it is clear to see and truly a modern classic in the making.
