citrus with tart rhubarb and a light floral that was lovely in the top until the rhubarb disappeared and a fruity almost gourmand note took over; went from like bordering on love to an okay for me due to the base

For quite some time I lived by the ocean in Southern California. This is the walk home from a day spent in the ocean. Pretend that you wore a simple unobtrusive floral fragrance for your day at the beach. While there, you ran with children, built sand castles, and bathed in the saltwater. You met a friend there who has a skiff and you traveled out midway to the horizon with them and you relaxed in the boat while they fished a bit, then you both came back to land where you gutted the catch and placed it on a cast iron skillet over a bonfire to cook. Sleepy and content, you walk back to your cottage. Your initially floral scented skin is now covered in the pungent brine of sweat and salt water surf warmed by a day’s worth of the sun. Your skin is slightly gritty and your muscles feel alive and tingling. The faintest traces of marine essence and smoke trail around you from the fresh fish fry but nothing offensive. I’ve found that all of Antonia’s Flowers are lifestyle fragrances–they truly evoke a moment and they do it well. This fragrance adequately captures the scent of a day at the beach, but not that tourist-y affair filled with cheap souvenirs and overcrowded sandlots. No, this is the one that the locals remember as simply being the way they spent their childhood—quiet reverie coupled with joyous everyday outdoor celebration.

I get the strongest sense of juniper here, which is strange as it doesn’t contain any. All I can think is the treatment of the wild rhubarb gives it a juniper-y vibe.
This fragrance never calls itself an Aquatic scent, perhaps because the A word puts so many people off, but it certainly is one regardless. A lovely one at that. I personally enjoy aquatics very much, but I feel this could be a perfume that could soften even the grinchiest anquatic-hating heart – if for no other reason than there is no melon here.
The name translates to “dreams of the sea” which is a very apt description of this. It conjures up images of barefoot kids flying kites as adults sip wine and lay out the picnic.
The orange never really announces itself on my skin, it’s mostly rhubarb disguised as juniper and lotus I get.
Moderate longevity, mild-moderate sillage. I really enjoy this scent and find it an excellent go-to for easy wear.

Although unisex, on the verge of masculine, this is by far my favourite offering from Antonia’s Flowers. It has a really unique feel, the first fragrance from this brand with an outstanding sense of character.
Sogni del Mare would smell amazing during Summer. Roughly translated, this fragrance means, ‘dreams of the sea’. It has this glorious salty and oceanic feel, further complimented by lotus, aromatic rhubarb and green cassis. Although it does emit a rather masculine vibe, I think any woman could easily pull it off.
I’m not usually one to enjoy aquatics, but this fragrance has some truly likable qualities. At some stages during the development, I’ll admit that Sogni del Mare does have an aerosol type scent, that can be a little off-putting, but rest assured it is only short-lived.
This might sound bizarre, but whenever an aquatic has a hint of lotus blossom, I pretty much know straight away that it will eventually appeal to me because the note wears so well on my skin. Lotus tends to cut through anything sharp or loud, adding a beautiful and refreshing femininity.
For those that consider aquatics their favourite fragrance genre, they should really check this one out. I personally like it more than those aquatics currently on the market, that people tend to rave about to no end. It’s a cut above the rest in other words.
The sillage is great, and the lasting power is really quite good for that of an EDT. If I were to go to the beach tomorrow, I know for certain that I would reach for Sogni del Mare. It reminds me, not so much of the sunny and crowded beach setting, but of the rocky cliffs, overlooking the ocean on an overcast, windy day. Picturesque and characteristic.

Although it opens with citrus, overall Antonia’s Flowers SOGNI DEL MARE is a very low-key slightly sweet floral perfume with a watery feeling to it apparently imparted by lotus. I wouldn’t go so far as to call this aquatic, however, as it is entirely devoid of all of the components of aquatic compositions which tend to induce in me a form of malaise akin to seasickness.
Instead, SOGNI DEL MARE offers a gentle cologne-type fragrance with a touch of sweetness and something of a soothing quality. There is nothing bracing or aromatic here, and the citrus opening is shortlived. I think that this creation is aptly named as it evokes the calm feeling of sitting alone by the sea. The sillage is fairly low and although the scent is subtle it lasts quite a long time on my skin.

The opening notes are fantastic…salty, summery, with just a tang of fruit. It really does evoke a dreamy seaside cottage on the Atlantic. Unfortunately, this stage lasts for less than 10 minutes, and then Sogni del Mare mutates into a fruit-scented-candle smell. Not a cheap candle, but definitely boring and not like anything natural. Utterly disappointing.

I don’t have any trouble smelling this, but bergamot notes always work well on my skin. I get mostly the bergamot and orange with a little watery lotus in the background. I like it very much and I think it would work very well as a fresh summer fragrance.

Powdery soft floral. Rose isn’t listed as a note, but this reminds me powerfully of Ombre Rose with a little cinnamon thrown in. It’s not bad, but it’s not terribly different or special. Although it’s damning with faint praise,I have to call this one harmless. And I agree with Kterhark: It’s very faint. I didn’ t have as much trouble smelling it as she did, but it’s almost shy. Not being a fan of powdery florals, this is not for me.

I got this as a mistaken gift but tried to see how it was. Well, I really didn´t like it (and I have a new full bottle with me). It was too strong for me and smelled just like a flower powdery perfume. And since I don´t like flower perfumes, I didn´t like this neither.
I didn´t smell any water of fresh in it.

I did something I’ve never done before with this- i dumped the entire sample on myself. Still, I could barely detect it, this is one of those scents i just can’t smell.
But faintly, it is true to its name as a citrus, watery scent. Calling it a floral aquatic is very accurate.
“m sorry I can’t say more about this scent, it was just to fleeting for me to get a feel for it. my favorte from this line is Absoluto, which is hte only one with any staying power.
