4160 Tuesdays Fruits of the Tree of Knowledge.
It is interesting what is done in Fruits of the Tree of Knowledge in terms of a fruity floral. It is not so much for the novelty of what perfume itself says, but for simply ignoring conventions of both the olfactory genre and the idea that is proposed.Fruity Florals are practically in perfumery the equivalent of Miss Universe contests: as much as you apparently have variations, all of them in essence are the same thing and follow conventions (and they all want World Peace). Fruits of the Tree of Knowledge is like Sandra Bullock in the contest of Miss, with characteristics of that universe but being distinguished by not following the script that is expected.
The concept here is sold as a refreshing aroma of fruit with a hint of cherry jam. In practice what I see is that the freshness of the fruits and the cherry touch end up producing a pretty cherry blossom accord. In general, perfumes that go in this path of cherry trees are almost always sold with a green floral scent that refers a lot to the muguet / lily of the valley, but at this stage the perfume stands out for going in a distinguished way, where a rose of greener aroma and delicate is that it takes on the role of the floral side of our cherry tree. And finally, instead of a delicate base of musks we have a good woody chord of sandalwood supporting the building and playing the role of the tree that gives the name of the perfume indeed.
This is a case of design that is worthy mentioning: the idea itself could easily be a feminine commercial scent, but the execution refuses to follow the protocols and prefers to have its own personality, sometimes masculine, sometimes feminine. I understand that this exemplifies very well that a perfume of an independent brand does not have to be exotic to fit the category, just follow the rules that the artist / perfumer wants.

I absolutely love this fragrance and when my mini bottle ran out, I just had to buy a big bottle. It smells like tart cherries, but has other fruit too. In case you’re imagining something syrupy and sickly from the notes, this isn’t like that at all. Each fruity note smells clean and sharp and the overall effect is one that makes me want to marinate in it. It’s fabulously sharp, and oh boy, those cherries!

I just love this fragrance. There is something so strangely comforting and enjoyable to me about it. It’s soft and fruity but there is an earthiness to it, maybe it’s the cucumber….but I feel like I’m smelling something that isn’t listed and I can’t place what it is. Or maybe it’s just an accord being created by several things in it. Though fruity and relatively simple, I find this fragrance oddly unique. And the raspberry in it is wonderful. It smells more like actual raspberries rather than “raspberry flavoring”.

I find raspberries tend to dominate the majority of 4160 fragrances – they smell more like sweet bubble bath than fine fragrance. Not unpleasant though.

Wow! What beautiful sparkling fruity tangy fragrance. The raspberries definitely dont totally dominate this fragrance. I also pick up the cucumber, violet and sandalwood. It opens up first with all the citrus fruits. It has a some sweetness but its also juicy and fresh. Gorgeous to wear on a warm day. Moderate sillage and decent longevity.

Ripe and tangy raspberry jam. This very juicy and it’s nice, but I feel like the raspberry just overwhelms everything else.
It took about an hour for me to be able to notice notes other than raspberry. I was looking forward to the watermelon but sadly never really got much of it. I didn’t really pick up on any of the top notes at all. The violet is a nice, sweet and tangy addition and the cherry reminds me a little of the cherry in Guerlain’s Insolence.
There’s a nice touch of sandalwood in the drydown which offers a depth to this that balances out all of the fruity sweetness going on.
This is nice, but I was a bit disappointed with it. I thought I’d get a lot more happening, but what I really got was a whole lot of raspberry.
The sillage is fairly soft, and as with most things from this house, you don’t need to put on much and the lasting power is great.
I’ll enjoy my sample, but I can’t see me buying a full bottle.
