Description

“An interplay of feather-light citric notes, warm and soft tones that are nevertheless full of character and profile. “Eau Ambrée“ is a fascinating play that, through the hand of a master, becomes a true harmonious creation. Fragrance par excellence for women and men. As if carried by a sea breeze on the Mediterranean we encounter summery citrus notes of fresh tart bergamot, ripe lemon and neroli, the oil from the flowers of the bitter orange. These correspond in a sophisticated dialogue with the base notes, where soft leather accents chime together with balsamic and sweet benzoin. Restrained roses and powdery iris notes act as mediators of this pair, without pushing themselves too much to the forefront.” – a note from the brand.

Eau Ambrée by Chabaud Maison de Parfum is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women and men. Top notes are bergamot, lemon and neroli; middle notes are rose and iris; base notes are leather, benzoin and amber.

Eau ambree smells like something old from the attic of an old house. But in a good, quite interesting way.
This scent is extremely powdery and very strong.
If it was a bit sweeter it would be Prada’s Candy. 🙂

Eau Ambree opens zesty and lemony. It’s quite light and tasty, albeit rather soft. It quickly gains a kind of creaminess to it, which reminds me of the kind of texture body lotions have. The base notes come up very early on though, so a very typical amber peeks through in about 15 minutes? More or less. The iris and rose only plays around on the sidelines, which I found slightly disappointing.
After that quick development, it’s character doesn’t change much anymore. It’s a swirl of mildly spicy benzoic notes which manages to retain a light, airy freshness, but also a warm, smoky vibe. It does end with a sweeter, more floral note, though still highly benzoic.
I suppose I wasn’t terribly impressed by this. It comes off as a typical amber fume with nothing much to offer, save for a calming freshness that is most prominent at the very beginning and lasts in soft touches throughout.
This was a very soft and silent perfume with not much sillage, and only lasted 3 hours on me.
