Description

In September 2009, Tom Ford presented collection White Musk Collection that contains four new fragrances: Urban Musk, White Suede, Musk Pure and Jasmin Musk. The collection is based upon the essence of musk, which is one of the favorite ingredients of Tom Ford. These fragrances are very feminine, a little bit lighter by color and by composition comparing to the previous editions.

Jasmin Musk includes notes of ylang-ylang, jasmine, patchouli, iris root, vanilla, sandalwood, vetiver, labdanum and amber, with the presence of two kinds of musk.

The first three fragrances were created in the cooperation with Givaudan perfumers, while the White Suede was composed with Firmenich. The fragrances are available in very modern and elegant bottles of 50 ml. The nose behind this fragrance is Calice Becker.

This is very weird fragrance that everybody has an different opinion on it! It is very classy for me and found it very chic. The parfum between clean and dirty jasmine! But discontinued.

    A clean white floral musk…
Now, when Tom Ford released his White Musk collection he was doing something totally different from the rest of the Private Blend fragrances, which were (mostly) worth the money (ie they had great longevity, staying power, sillage etc.)… this doesn’t.
What Jasmine Musk is… (and basically all the other White Musk fragrances are) is a light perfume for you to spray on when you don’t want to wear any of the heavier Private Blend fragrances like Tobacco Vanille or Amber Absolute. Basically it gives rich people an excuse to buy every type of fragrance from Tom Ford’s Private Line (ie on an exclusive basis). So you can buy this and also own something like Tobacco Vanille, which could be worn for evening and this for the daytime or on less formal days. This one could also be worn formally but ultimately, this is really more of a skin scent.
The scent itself is based around the tried and tested combination of ylang-ylang, jasmine sandalwood and vanilla, with hints of musk. I can say that even if Samsara by Guerlain was being charged at the same Tom Ford prices, it would be a better investment than this one. Thankfully, it’s a lot cheaper (and still in production).
Yes is nice. I could see on a woman this would be incredibly stylish, and very chic. But really the price is too much to pay for something that just smells “nice”, and is a little safe (and which only lasts a few hours). That is, unless you are rich, and one of Tom Ford’s exclusive clients. Jasmine Musk has been discontinued… don’t bother looking for it. Buy Samsara instead.

Such a clean and pleasant smell, that’s innocence in a bottle. Ideal for daytime wear and a safe fragrance to wear before some intimacy.

Jasmine and Musk combo. Very soapy, shampoo-like, musky clean. At first it has a hint of old fashioned soap, but a minute into it, it normalizes with these two ingredients intertwined.
Close to the skin, 2-3 hours barely. No one will know it’s a perfume which can be a good thing at times.
If this appeals to you try it out. I see it as for a commonly found scent it’s a pricey tag.

Is someone kidding me? This perfume smells like talking with a teenage girl wearing a cheap fruity floral (any one—you choose. ) as she chews bubblegum that she’s had in her mouth for half an hour so that it has the best of both saliva and flavoring.
Bubblegum breath meets bubblegum perfume for 200+ dollars.

This is a very classy original scent. It is very distinctive and when you spray it it smells of class and money. Perhaps due to the high ticket cost of this I am smelling money ? No I think it’s the rich fragrance itself. The bottle sold for over $200. I believe this one also is discontinued which is a shame. It’s a lovely elegant scent. I would consider trading my partial bottle if anyone is interested.

Finally I have it! It’s such a gorgeous, real, and indolic , gorgeous jasmine (and musk) it’s that simple yet that beautiful! And I really cant believe how long this lasts on me….. I can still smell at the end of the work day. Absolutely no complaints here.

A lovely Saks SA sprayed this on me, and I was so taken with this soft, elegant jasmine blend that I nearly asked her to take it out of the case for me right then. Fortunately, I told her I’d dabble in the other fragrance sections for a little while before deciding. I’m glad I did, because the smell had entirely vanished before I was back at the Tom Ford counter. I wouldn’t want TF to change a thing about this fragrance if they could make it last.

Smells like spoiled milk on me after a while, very linear obviously, and does not project at all. No thanks!

Today I tested Jasmin Musk and I must say I am disappointed. I put a good amount of my sample on and initially smelled a soft musky jasmine with very little projection. About an hour later I smelled nothing so I reapplied my sample with even more gusto than the first time…and here we are an hour later and I smell nothing. It could be that I don’t smell the musk but I don’t have trouble smelling any other musky perfume so I doubt it. In my opinion this is not worth the money….but maybe it’s just my skin. It is even lighter than a body spray for me.

This is a wonderful fragrance! It is so perfect for the spring/summer and mid-fall.
Usually Jasmine is a little strong for my allergy nose, but this blend is just amazing.
I love the musk blend. It tones done the jasmine floral, so it is not too strong. One can still notice the Jasmine, but it is clean and yet it is still a floral. It is cooling for those hot/humid NYC summers.

Absolutely Stunning Gorgeous, amazing jasmine smell, the musk and jasmine play off each other so well, very complimentary of each other.. the jasmine is natural smelling and pure.. just scrumptous.. longevity is ok, wish it lasted a little bit longer, but it’s not bad.

Tom Ford showed again he understands the current trends. His Jasmine Musk is an incarnation of vintage white flower fragrances and yet it has a very modern vibe to it.
It is quite similar to Annick’s Goutal Songes, except that Songes are very powdery and to my nose smell a bit old (not in a bad way). Ford’s version of it is a much more modern scent that concentrates on potent, fragrant jasmine and musk. Orris root and vetyver bring in earthiness and a lightly grainy texture the scent has. For me it is not a typical, floral woody musk scent- there is something oriental about it, something that make it belong to the big cities in the Middle East and Asia rather than to Oxford Street in London lets say.

This is quite a beautiful scent..with a pronounced Jasmine heart with a touch of (at least I smelled..) Lily of the Valley. As nice as it is it doesn’t seem to last very long and for *that*price it really should last ALL day!

This is so much more than a jasmine perfume. This is class, sophistication and glamour encapsulated in a chic flaçon, a symphony in white and gold. This is the royal white flower at it’s best. Tom Ford is renowned for his luxurious products, and this is of course no exception. From it’s glittering reveal as you open the embossed white box, Jasmine Musk dazzles in all it’s floral grandeur. It’s exclusive price tag is easily justified – this is not something you’ll smell on anyone else (unless of course you have wealthy friends who are equally perfume-obsessed) – it’s unique, unparalled in quality and style. The fragrance at once captures the imagination with it’s tantalising opening of sweet vanilla, labdanum and ylang ylang, eventually warming to that exotic, nectar-like jasmine. The jasmine here is unlike any other I have had the pleasure to smell – pure, heady and reminiscent of warm summer nights in the Mediterranean. Of course, as the scent dries down on the skin, the musk begins to become noticeable – fresh, sophisticated and classy. A number of people seem to question this scents sillage and longevity. For me, both are perfect – it’s noticable enough for people to compliment you on what you are wearing, without clearing the room, and it may announce your presence to the room, without people thinking they’ve mistakenly walked into a department store fragrance boutique. I was initially unsure as to whether to purchase this or the White Suede (also from Tom Ford’s Private Blend White Musk Collection), but finally settled on this one after the sales assistant complimented my wearing of it, saying the way it smelt on me was the best she’d ever smelt it. I left with a fabulous new fragrance and feeling rather pleased with my amazing skin chemistry. I think that is above all one of the most important things with all of Tom Ford’s fragrances – don’t just test them on a card, try them on the skin, see how they smell on yourself. I think I can honestly say, if you are a jasmine lover, you need this in your life. If you aren’t; you just might be after you’ve tried this!

It is just beautiful, my favourite of Tom Ford’s Musk collection. It has a soft, adorable jasmine with a hint of ylang ylang. The floral part of it is amazing, it is gentle and delicate. As beautiful as it is, it is quite short lived. The dry down also has hints of jasmine and sandalwood. I really wanted to experience more of the jasmine. The musk is mild, easy and pleasing but fleeting all the same.

I’ve tested Jasmin Musk today. As a jasmin lover i liked it a lot. Jasmin is the dominant note. Smells really nice and attractive but it’s all about the pure jasmin. Doesn’t seem to last long, it’s been three hours since i’ve tested and it’s almost gone.
But if you are a jasmin-lover like me, then you should definitely give it a try.
