Description

Kim Kardashian (model, actress) presented a perfume named after her in 2009. The fragrance arrives in an extravagant flacon and is composed of such aromas as tuberose, gardenia, jasmine, tonka, jacarandi wood and sandalwood. Available as 30, 50 and 100ml edp. Perfumer of this edition is Claude Dir.

Besides Kim Kardashian‘s signature fragrance in a dark flacon presented in 2009, another two charming flacons for carrying in a purse have been introduced.

Kim Kardashian is a fragrance constructed of luminous, sweet opening notes, intoxicating, floral middle notes and sensual, sexy aromas in a base. An opening includes refreshing notes of mandarin surrounded with floral-lemon honeysuckle and orange blossom, while a heart blooms with pink jasmine, tuberose, gardenia and spices. A base is created of warm, gentle Tonka, jacaranda wood, vanilla orchid, sexy musk and creamy sandalwood.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml EDP, in a dark flacon. Apart from this flacon, Kim Kardashian is presenting another one, 30 ml EDP Kim Kardashian To Go, with different shape and design when compared with the classic, purple one. The pink flacon is decorated with Kim Kardashian‘s initials on the edges, which creates a lace motive and implies this seductive composition. The offer includes roll-on Kim Kardashian Rollerball EDP in a pick, cylindrical flacon, decorated with Kim Kardashian‘s initials. The roll-on edition is available as 10ml edp.

Blind buy! I like this perfume a lot! I’m in love with white florals, especially tuberose/magnolia/non-indolic jasmine. It’s unfortunately not as good as Gucci Bloom or Juicy Couture in my opinion, so I won’t be repurchasing but I like it enough to wear and enjoy this one.
It has poor sillage and longevity as others have stated, but that suits me for everyday wear.

A beautiful, sophisticated, and tastefully put together white floral bouquet. Sultry, dense, exotic, intoxicating, classic and current at the same time. Never solemn like Chanel No.22, passé like Fracas, or borderline vulgar like Truth or Dare. Kim Kardashian is seriously well made. A must try if you love gardenias/tuberoses, and even if you don’t, chances are you’ll end up falling in love with this juice. 🙂

Absolute dream in a bottle, scent wise.
It’s creamier then Michael, but not as strong.
If you are looking for a comfort, office-friendly scent,
You will NOT regret getting this.
Creamy and Heavenly, really a masterpiece.
Sillage gets 3/5, Longevity gets 4/5.
For inexpensive perfume, it’s actually good.

I love the smell but it lasts on my skin less than 3hrs. For the price that’s ok to me.

This perfume by Kim K. is a beautifully blended perfume! It is much better than I
had hoped it would be. I am very happy to own it. I will enjoy wearing it. It is a gorgeous white floral. The predominate fragrance is of Tuberose, and musk.
To me, this gorgeous blend is totally feminine, and wearable in any setting. Day or night wear will be options afforded to me.
It is most definitely a keeper. What a bargain for a 3.4oz bottle,
    a mere $14.00, a great buy, indeed!

I kind of get why people get reminded of Michael Kors but I think this KK is better. This is the first KK perfume Ive actually liked. I have Michael Kors right now too but I think KK is prettier but Im very fond of gardenia so I can say thats why I prefer it. They are both beautiful perfumes though Michaels Kors can be a bit harsh. You cant over spray on that or you’ll choke. KK is rounded out with that creamy gardenia so there is less risk of it overpowering you. Both are beautiful but I think it comes down to what you like personally for the better one.
Edit: My 7yo son just told me I smell like bananas, lol. I thought weird when I read other reviewers say that because I get mostly gardenia but it must smell like bananas to some. He sure smells it.

The very white floral pastiche of the first Michael Kors, rearranged inside a clenched fist of white musks varnished with nail polish. Completely and unironically “femme”, like Jessica Rabbit without the sense of humour and the sassy remarks. As common with all white florals of this genre, it is very competent attracting attention and inducing growls from men, but if it is howls that you’re looking for, wear Fracas.

Can we say Gardenias? Can we make a white floral fragence as big as Kim’s butt. Look no further… No really. I have a love hate relationship with this perfume. Some times I love it, and other times just cloying and heavy. When I am in the mood, it is a happy sunny scent totally the smell of summer. I think I like it best when the Jasmine note comes out, it likes to hide behind the Gardenia and tuberose which tend to bully it into submission. The dry down is Lovely, but being the silage is quite strong takes a good while to get there… almost too long. Very affordable scent, especially when you consider how little is required. One spray a bit on the wrist and done.

I used to work at a fragrance store. One time, and elderly woman was looking for Michael Kors. She didn’t think it was expensive, so she suffered some sticker shock. I sprayed this on her wrist and she went for a walk around the mall. I went on break and when I came back she was buying it. She thanked me for suggesting this (It was $50 less) and it smells the same, and has more longevity.
If you like Michael Kors, get this.

    Kimmy k, who’d a thunk it!
I tried the little bottle with a lilac purple colour, I don’t like that all bottles aren’t they same shape in diff sizes, this could confuse people.
Very white floral. I don’t detect complexity, but the overall scent is good and long lasting.
It’s a pity I can’t say the same for some of her other scents, I’ve had a couple and they’re crap.
This doesn’t go bitter on me, Michael Kors glam jasmine does.
The Michael by mkors is similar to this, Gucci bloom. I love bloom and bloom aqua, kim’s Frag is in the same vein but not ‘the same’.
For an inexpensive option I give 10/10.
    Winter test

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about who did or did not make this perfume, neither whos name is on it. I like it.
My boyfriend, however, LOVES this perfume on me. Everytime I put it on, he makes sure to walk near me to get a big sniff and then he just stands there with eyes closed and a big smile on his face 🙂
Turns out, this scent reminds him of his grandmothers garden in Romania. The white floral is very dominant and this perfume lasts a good 5-6 hours on me.

Although I am not a fan of Kim Kardashian and I tend to be a bit suspicious when it comes to celebrity fragrances, the composition of this one caught my eye and I decided to blind-buy it – and I am not disappointed, thankfully.
The first spray is alcohol mixed with sugared tea and tons of tuberose. The alcohol fades away quickly and I am left with something very reminiscent of Gucci Bloom: tuberose, jasmine tea and something deliciously earthy and green. But there is something different though – a strong plum note (although I see no plums in the perfume composition) that took me by surprise.
The clandestine plum rounds out the composition in a beautiful way, giving it an exotic feel. Despite the exotic nature of the perfume, I feel that this perfume would be better in colder weather, as warm temperatures tend to give it a heavy feel.
To my nose, this perfume is the love child of Gucci Bloom and Avon Outspoken by Fergie. If you can’t afford the former or want a slightly better version of the latter, this one is definetely the answer. The scent is good enough to differentiate you from the rest of the crowd, but not bold enough to make it a risky blind-buy.
On my skin, the sillage and longevity are moderate – not bad, but they could have definetely been better.
To sum it up, congrats to perfumer Claude Dir and to Kim Kardashian for creating such an amazing fragrance!

here is the thing,i love the opening, when i sniffed the bottle it smelled gorgeous of tuberose but after a while on the skin it transformes into a sunscreany scent with gardenia that reminds me of those tuberose/gardenia scents at zara, this perfume has the top notes of avon fergie’s outspoken and the drydown of nuxe le parfum
the drydown does last a long time unfortunately for me since i am not fond of it and the alcohol in this perfume stings my skin so bad wich i never experienced with other perfumes and body sprays before.
this perfume is definetly not something i would call modern because we are over the sunscrean gardenia, and i feel like we have more interesting florals in 2018, wouldn’t recomand purchasing it there are many better options out there, the bodyshop’s gardenia has better gardenia note than this in my opinion.

To my nose, this smells like bananas; not floral at all.

I love KK Glam and now trying on this “mother of Glam” (in my opinion, Glam is a “lighter” version), I feel “rounded” and sexy. Voluptuous tuberose, sweet & soft gardenia, powdery & fluffy jasmine, with “spicy” sweet honeysuckle…It would be perfect if its longevity is a little longer. Like most KK perfumes in her line, this one does not have better lasting power either. Projection/sillage is also medium, not heavy.
Very dreamy, beautiful and happy fragrance! I thought of a movie scene in “Under The Tuscan Sun” (2003) that has one of my favorite actresses Diane Lane in her “iconic” white dress. If she wore a fragrance smelling like this one while shooting that scene, well, I’m not surprised 🙂
I’m putting this one on the same list of my favorite and recommended white floral fragrances (especially for tuberose scent) among Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Ralph Lauren Woman, Jennifer Aniston Chapter One…I even prefer this one over MIchael Kors EDP (as I found the tuberose in MK EDP rather cloying, almost smelled like “rotten”, “wet” flower). Of course, for the price and same size bottle, I DEFINITELY go with this one ($17 online) than Gucci Bloom ($124 in store). They both share almost identical scent, and also because I am not a fan of that Gucci beige bottle. I’m gonna wear KK perfume for night and KK Glam for day 🙂
FYI, my bottle is made of actual very dark brown GLASS with the plastic bottle cap, just like thousands of other perfume bottles out there. It has KK initial/trademark and spray part in dusty pink color.
(I have seen knock-off/imitation/“inspired” version of KK perfume on eBay under slightly different name/brand and bottle design, and I could not help it but wonder: if this perfume has been “disliked” by public THAT much, then WHY black market bothers to go after it, unless they can benefit from it??? I personally think that KK perfume line, as a matter of fact, IS popular and has more fans in reality, just not in here) 🙂
Latest update: if you enjoy this KK perfume, you should try KKW Crystal Gardenia. Guarantee you will love that one, as to my nose, that one is a step up from KK perfume.

This is a dead on copy of Gucci bloom. I sampled it today at a store near me. Save yourself money and get this instead if you like heavy tuberose.

Very strange experience. I received this as a swap, and I wasn1t even sure if I liked it, but I find myself wanting to wear it…actually bathe myself in it. I just want to smell like this. For the price it is super classy and elegant. For me to love it it would have to be a bit more skin scenty, a bit more sensual. But I still want to smell like it….not sure what!s up with me.
Anyway, really good scent for the price. Sillage…well, I would normally spray up to 3 times if a quality perfume, and it would still have sillage, this is invisible if sprayed 3 times, try 6 or 8, and you’ve got a perfume. Since you need that much juice, it’s not really cheap after all.

  18. :

This was a blind buy. I bought this based on sniffing the tester and I was surprised how pleasant the scent was. Although this didn’t have a lot of positive reviews I still wanted to check it out. And thank goodness I did! For a celebrity fragrance it doesn’t have that typical synthetic sweet, cheap perfume smell that I find a lot have. Instead the floral notes of gardenia, jasmine and orchid have a deep, intense scent that is quite subtle, not at all headache inducing. Ignoring the fact that this is a Kim Kardashian perfume, I really like it. This is my first celebrity scent in my collection and it’s one I will definitely wear for cooler weather.

Think what you will about Kim K but there’s no denying the woman is gorgeous and I imagine she has good taste when it comes to cosmetics and fragrance. Tonight we went out to dinner and when I got in the car hubby asked what I was wearing because he liked my perfume. I told him it was this Kim Kardashian one. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated. After the waitress took our order she immediately turned to me and said she thought my perfume was very pretty. Why thank you! Then, right before we left, I went to wash my hands in the restroom and the woman he was standing next to me asked which perfume I was wearing because she liked it. I was on a roll tonight 3 compliments in a row within 2 hours. This perfume is fabulous. People notice it, people like it. Thanks Kimmy!

I got this based on the glowing almost unanimous reviews and I was disappointed. I don’t know how to describe exactly why I don’t like it but to me it smells weird and not like good quality perfume but rather cheap. I I gave it to my mom who likes it so I’m not upset over it.
Edit: Every time I read some reviews here I try it again to see if this time I can get what everyone is raving about but sadly I don’t. Smells like it could be bug spray to me. Definitely not for me.

My previous review said it didn’t last long, well, now it’s summery, this perfume is gorgeous. I had 8 sprays on last week and one of the guys at work said I left behind a delicious trail of flowery scent.
in warm weather, this scent gives great sillage for 3 hours.
At $20-30 for a 100ml, if you love warm tuberose, try this one, it’s really gorgeous, different to fruity Amarige and Giorgio.

It’s one of the best perfume i have ever smelled
    So glamorous so floral sweet
The lasting power is 12 hours
    The silage is amazing

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Lovely and inexpensive! Some reviewers compare this to the original Michael Kors, but I get more fruity gardenia in KK than spicy tuberose. Somewhat similar to Truth or Dare, but this is more Amarige-like to me.
It is some strong stuff, so you don’t need much. As I am a diehard gardenia/tuberose lover, I recommend KK highly. Don’t judge the fragrance by the celebrity; not at all a fan of the Kardashians but the original KK is a sexy white floral at a very good price point. Note: I would layer this with something citrusy to bring down the sweetness level for daytime wear; bet layering with a tiny bit of vetiver would make it greener and earthier.

I just got this gem today!
I was googling which perfumes get MOST COMPLIMENTED BY MEN and this one showed up several times so I blind bought it and oh man I’m glad I did.
It smells so clean, luxurious, elegant and feminine! I dont wear flowery perfumes because they can be really heavy but this one is surprisingly not. It smells like summer. Well done!

  25. :

    4 out of 5

I think everyone needs one dramatic white floral in their collection. At the 20 price point this and madonnas TOD are about the best in the genre. Its more modern as it leaves out the fuller figured fruits of plum and apricot a la 273. This isnt dated with its tonka base sweetens up the floral. Fracas and Moramanga reign supreme as the grand dames of white florals but this is a gem for the princess in waiting.

  26. :

    The smell of disappointment.
I should love this because I love gardenia, tuberose and jasmine…but I don’t.
I know the term “bug spray” gets thrown around a lot, but in my honest, objective opinion it smells a lot like a personal insect repellant you can buy here in Australia, with an undertone of gardenia and tuberose.
Should have held on to my $20.

This perfume makes me feel so womanly and so sexy, but not overtly so. I can’t comment on Kim Kardashian herself because I pretty much know nothing about her besides the fact that her and her family are part of a reality TV show. Not interested. Just gimme this juice.
To me, this is a perfect blend of floral, sweet, sensual, and feminine. This smells strongly of gardenia and honeysuckle to me…almost as if it just rained and these flowers are soaking up the moisture. Gorgeous. I’ve been trying to mentally eliminate many fragrances from my wardrobe (moving forward after I sell/use up many fragrances) and I feel strongly about this one staying in my collection.

This has been a perfume that i have loved for years! I am constantly re-stocking this! I think it smells like a lady should. Nice, Clean, with a hint of fruit. Not too young, not too mature. I wear this baby all year round, a few times each week. It’s just lovely!

I always wanted a perfume that gave me the effect of “wet, cut grass” such as grass that has been rained on and happened to be freshly mowed. I feel that’s the best smell on earth. I heard Kim was really good with perfumes so I decided to let go my personal bias towards her go and try this. This is the closest perfume I’ve found that smelled the closest to “wet freshly cut grass.” I don’t particularly enjoy the notes individually but it has great smell.

Years ago I got this for Christmas from a family friend. I wasn’t too fond of it but liked the smell of it on others. I hardly ever reached for it and gave it away with a bunch of other fragrances during a clear out. Just recently with the release of a few white florals such as Chanel Gabrielle and Gucci Bloom I started to crave similar perfumes that were in the same scent category. I decided to give Kim Kardashian a try again and this time I really enjoyed it! I regret giving my bottle away and I found it hard deciding if I should purchase again considering I’m not a fan of Kim Kardashian. But the fragrance is beautiful and my favourite flower of all time is Gardenia which definitely makes an appearance after a few minutes. The sillage is great for 3 hours before it will need to be resprayed. It is a lovely fragrance don’t be put off by the name!

Its a pretty scent but it doesn’t last long on me and poor sillage??
From the reviews, this is supposed to be good longevity and sillage. I used 6 sprays!!!
I asked a work colleague and she couldn’t smell me either.
Its definitely a new geniune bottle.
I got it at Chemist Warehouse, a very popular good chemist in Australia.
I am a Poison, Giorgio, Kenzo L’Elephant, Obsession & Opium girl….so maybe this is too gentle…
    I probably need Amarige…..hopefully, it’s much louder…

I found a gift set at Big Lots for $10. This is classified as an oriental, that’s why I blind bought it, but all I smell is an overload of gardenia or tuberose. It does have good projection and longevity, but sadly, its not for me.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Strong affordable fragrance that has good projection considering it is celebrity. Tuberose is prominent, gardenia not so much in my opinion, jasmine honey suckle and orange flower take a back seat but are prominent. I don’t really get any woody or citrusy notes. This is a floral scent that is warm soft spicy thanks to the pepper.
Good projection, very good scent for autumn and winter and cold, miserable weather in general.
Smells more expensive than it is. It is also a developer, it changes overtime on my skin- but this happens only sometimes, other times it remains cloying and headache inducing throughout- not sure why. The initial spray is quite offensive to my nose, but it quickly settles into something softer most of the time I spray.
I do really like this scent, I wore it today and loved it, but like I said sometimes it is cloying and headache inducing for me and it just won’t settle, but not today, today it was beautiful. I got lovely whiffs of this stuff for 5 hours.

Oh, who cares if it’s Kim Kardashian. This fragrance is beautiful.
Just as promised, this scent really is voluptuous. But, it’s not because of Kim- It’s because of those gorgeous, creamy white flowers. They are truly the star of the show.
Projection is good without knocking out those around you, and lasts all day.
If you’re a fan of gardenia and tuberose, it’s worth giving Kim your money. They did very well on this one.

I cannot bear the thought of giving any money or attention to that shameless attention whore family the KarTRASHians. Im not against celebrity fragrances as a whole but these women compared their vagina smell on tv, for Gods sake. Don’t know what this smells like, don’t care. They are a poison to society.
PS I mean to offense to anyone who likes this I just cannot bear the namesake.

I begrudgingly parted with $15 at the Ross for a bottle of this in spite of the mixed/negative/glowing reviews because I adore tuberose. I’ve been looking for one that I can wear every day without breaking the bank. Kim Kardashian seemed to fit the bill.
The initial spray starts off almost identical to Michael Kors’ signature fragrance, with buttery, tropical tuberose, then dries down to something vaguely citrusy with tuberose laced throughout. It’s very strong–one spray cut through the scent of banana bread baking in the oven and could be smelled across the room.
About ten minutes in, KK hits an operatic screechiness that’s almost headache inducing, then, thankfully, dies down again to creamy tuberose with a little lemon and piquant gardenia over it. It has a veil of green freshness that keeps it from being too much. The other white flowers are blended very well into it, and when the fragrance settles, it mostly stays on the path of white flower/citrus/green freshness.
At this stage it reminds me of Gucci’s Bloom mixed with Michael Kors, though I have to say, I think I may like this one better than either of those. First, Michael Kors doesn’t last at all on my skin, and second, Bloom is too green and citrusy, making for very polite white florals in comparison to Kim Kardashian’s rich scent.
I was really surprised to like this one as much as I did, and will probably shamefully wear it most days. I’ll lie about what it is I’m wearing when people ask though.
EDIT: Still great for the price. I decided I do like the Michael Kors over this one, on account of KK feeling a smidge too sharp and overbearing. Kors has the better scent, but KK completely dominates it in longevity. I’ve smelled KK on me at least 6 hours after spraying. If only MK had the longevity of KK…
EDIT EDIT: I -love- the way this mixes with my skin! Warmed up and mixed with some sweat, the tuberose becomes sexy and musky. A new favorite.

This perfume is so good! You have to lose whatever preconceptions you may have about Kim kardashian and judge this fragrance OK N it’s scent alone. It’s beautiful, bold, floral , very slight tuberose, sweet without being fruity and lasts awhile. Good sillage. Definitely my favorite of Kim Kardashian’s fragrances.

Well, as much as I dislike the thought of giving the Kardashians a dime, the white floral lover in me was intrigued; the reviews here generally seemed pretty favorable, and really, I bought this at one of those deep-discount stores…so whatever Kim or the Kardashians might possibly get is pretty much 0 after taxes, etc.
Anyhoo..this is indeed a white floral, and it does remind me of MK Michael. I wore MK Michael for years as my ‘signature,’ so yeah..I can see the comparison. If you love/like/want MK Michael but maybe can’t find it and/or want a more affordable dupe, then here is your answer. I bought this for around $20.00USD in that ‘dress for less’ place. Lasting time is impressive for a fragrance of this price point (although I will say, MK’s lasts on me all day, this lasts on me about 3 hours before becoming a skin scent). And for being a celeb fragrance, I think this can fool some into thinking this is high-end. Not catering to the tweens and twenty-somethings, like many celeb frag’s. I also kind of dig the bottle, it is comfortable in my hands to spray (which my bad wrists appreciate) and the bottle imo is prettier in-person, not a tacky design like so many celeb fragrances. I really do not feel one way or the other about KimK, what she does is her business, but her fragrance is lovely. Looking to possibly try another one….or two.

I so want this from your reviews guys! I ordered online with Oueen of Hearts by Queen Latifah. Can’t wait to get my hands on this. I will come back with a a review.
Edit: today arrived the fragrance! It is divine! So creamy and sweet but fresh at the same time. I detect mostly gardenia and tuberose. Longevity is about 7-8h and projection is moderate. This is perfect for fall and spring IMO.
I’m happy with my blind buy thanks to your reviews!

This reminds me of alien with the tiny bit of citrus tartness alien doesnt always behave on me but kims always does but by the end of the day I have a huge migrain so cannot wear it. I have tried so many times but same problem I really cant stand when people bathe in this because it is like a nuclear cloud around them and ends up smelling abnoxious. Just a little spray and it’s beautiful. I shudder to imagine using the body oroducts and layering that is just a nightmare wear the cream by itself or perfume visa versa not both

First off, I’m not a floral fragrance lover but I’ve been trying to move from my comfort zone of fruity sweetness and venture into some other scent categories. I like Gucci Guilty as a floral fragrance because it has some sweetness.
This is totally floral and I think I may be in…love? Who would have thought? I got a sample and I get what must be tuberose? I have no idea what this flower smells like but I love it apparently. There is also some inky darkness I find quite addictive. I have to keep putting my wrist to my nose because I have to inhale this inkiness, I do not know where it comes from but I love it. This is what a sexy floral smells like and it garners such random unexpected compliments…and it lasts forever. It smells timeless to me. The dry down is like a soft floral vanilla. I’m totally getting the full size bottle.

Blind buy worth more money than high end fragrances. I read it has tuberose and I bought it. I cannot believe Kim Kardashian released such a gem and not the generic celebrity perfumes we see everyday. This is extremely elegant, sexy, the tuberose is very creamy and well blended, making for a very pleasant overall creation. Do not be fooled by the name written on it, this is a very good perfume

Big, womanly, white floral. It’s for a sexually self-assured, confident woman. This is the first floral that I have smelled that I would definitely count as sexy.
It reminds me a lot of Kenneth Cole Black (they have very similar main notes), but where Black is green and fresh, KK is warm, round and musky. I adore the far drydown, as the spices, sandalwood and woods come out to give an almost incense like background to the flowers.
Huh. Kim Kardashian. Whodathunk. Never would have tried it without the fragrantica community. Thanks!

OMG I was given this scent as a gift and I must say that I am in love. It really draws compliments. I love fruity scents like Curious by Brittney, but KK is fruity with some other muskyish type of scent that I just cant quite put a finger on. All in all, I would purchase again, the only downside is I do not find it lasts very long on me

I’m shocked and pleasantly surprised. This isn’t like most celebrity frags, and I’ve never watched an episode of anything Kardashian but my husband blind bought me this beauty from TJ Maxx for $20 and this is a white flower power house! I mean WOW.I just started spraying, about 5 sprays without thinking, I mean it’s a celebrity fragrance, how loud could it be? LOL that was a mistake. This beautiful stuff is “knock you out” loud. Sillage was so powerful it scented the entire apartment. It was almost headache inducing,I’ll know better next time to spray lightly.Longevity?Ha, well it’s the next morning so it’s been lingering for 13 hours now,it’s mostly faded but I got some on my clothing and I can still smell it.This one really surprised me and I like it very very much!

I HATE celebrity frags. HATE. With the exception of Madonna Truth or Dare and SJP Stash. But this one? It joins the exception list. I curled my nose when I went to spray it. A friend sent it. I would never choose to put something by a Kardashian on my body. This is pretty amazing. Any sweet white floral lovers will love it. Strong. Great projection. It is about the orange flower, gardenia, honeysuckle and indolic jasmine that gives it a musk undertone. I am buying a bottle.

This is just nice I always receive compliments when I wear it and I’m embarrassed to say it KK. It’s got fantastic longevity like nothing else I own! But I don’t get sick of it even hours later I still like it. It’s warm and intriguing.

I caught a whiff of this on a friend a few days ago and I was sure it was Michael Kors –
so much so that the scent instantly transported me back to the early 2000’s when I worked in some of the fragrance halls of London, around the time it was released.
I was floored when I asked if it was MK, and was informed it was of one Kim Kardashian’s!
I just bought it and I love it! Intoxicating! (and very affordable!)

    Sexy, womanly, full-bodied fragrance!
There are definite similarities to Michael by Michael Kors but they’re more like fraternal twins than identical. Michael does not contain gardenia, and you can definitely pick out the slightly spicy tamarind. I think Kim’s fragrance is sweeter and creamier, and I’m picking up a tropical-green note in the top. I also find that Michael sticks to the skin a bit more. I’d wear Kim’s in the summer and Michael in the winter. I love them both! If you like one, you will probably like the other, but they’re not the exact same. 🙂
For this fragrance the mandarin, honeysuckle and orange blossom make for a bright and sweet opening. It’s not long before the gardenia, tuberose and jasmine make their way to the center of attention. The drydown becomes woody and spicy while remaining smooth, sweet and creamy.
This scent reminds me of a voluptuous, old Hollywood actress. Absolutely glamorous and seductive. If you like white florals, do give it a try!

This scent brings to mind the colors and prints of Lily Pulitzer wearing ladies in a California trailer park. Maybe I smelled something similar on a lady when we visited at a very young age. The aunt we visited might have worn it. This is very summery to me! I love this perfume. This reminds me, VERY much of Fracas, which I’ll probably never own. This is SO good, I’m content with it. I just don’t have a problem with this one ANY time of year. It’s expensive smelling. I think this is easily a must have. It’s a lovely and totally non-rubbery gardenia. I don’t know what causes gardenia to smell like rubber but they obviously figured it out here and didn’t do it! It’s soft and billowy like a velvet covered feather pillow. There are a few cheaper alternatives similar to Fracas, but this will do just fine!

Ok, I keep reading reviews that this is so sexy… and yes I can see that! But to me, a white floral blend this smooth and sweet is really so calming and soothing. It reminds me of a hotel I was at on a tropical vacation once. They had flowers in the lobby and it smelled just like KK. So this is a tropical vacation to me, and I’m more likely to wear it when I want to relax. But…. also yes it can be sexy too!!
I have Sand and Sable too and love it, but this lasts longer and has no scratchy-soapy “sandy” notes to interfere. This is less shampoo- like and heavier to me.
Longevity is great- around 8 hrs on clothes, maybe 5-6 on skin. And now I’m DONE looking for a smooth, creamy gardenia/tuberose perfume for those white floral cravings… this is IT!!! That drydown with vanilla-sweet mixing with the tuberose and gardenia mingling with orange blossom blows me away. So good!

I had debated (blind buy) between this and one other. At the last moment, I chose this one. Imagine my surprise after unboxing and spraying a dab on my wrist to get a familiar smell.
If I had been blindfolded, I would have thought someone was planning me and sprayed a long time favorite, Fleuresse by Arabella Stuart.
My husband went to far as to say they must have had cats of Fleuresse, unsold and re-branded it as Kim Kardashian, Kim Kardashian.
Sadly, I feel this was a wasted purchase for me.

I still have a few decants of Michael knocking around somewhere but unfortunately since I have come to appreciate white florals, Michael has of course been discontinued. At first spray of KK I instantly got that huge tropical banana blast of tuberose/gardenia. Yes this IS very similar. Very loud and creamy… beautiful. I am pretty impressed with the KK scents thus far, you get good quality and performance for the very low prices. UPDATE: so while I still like this and think it’s a great scent for the p
