Description
“Heavy, classical, floral oriental blend, with a touch of highly-matured, chocolaty deer musk, and a gentle whisper of animalic royal oud.
Walimah is our tribute to the beautiful union of two souls from different corners of the globe. It is a celebration of a man and a woman who, by the grace of God Almighty, have found love, peace and joy in each other: Russian Adam and his Indonesian princess. Rugged, harsh, sharp, wild and unapologetic character is infused and
softened with a delicate, sweet and beautiful female wisdom. A harmonious balance of heavy, masculine, smoky and wild animalic notes of Russian deer musk, castoreum and royal Bengali oud, enriched with lush, feminine Indonesian magnolia flowers, tuberose and mouth-watering cocoa, sprinkled with bits of luxurious, fragrant saffron and warm cinnamon.
The top notes of Walimah explode with blooming Indonesian florals. One thousand fresh, yellow champaka flowers, distilled by Russian Adam himself, add unmatchable quality to the aroma, resulting in some of the most realistic flowerfalls one could possibly imagine. The combination of rare, steam-distilled magnolia otto and magnolia absolute flashes from the top of this love elixir, adding a feeling of pure, raw and captivating love. A touch of unique, fruity Indonesian tuberose and narcotic ylang ylang form an olfactory bridge that takes us to the heart notes of this composition.
A high dose of precious tobacco leaf absolute is a main player here. Dry, warm and sensual, it represents the sensation of comfort and relaxation. It graciously embraces royal oud from the Bengal mountains… extraordinary agarwood oil distilled from the highest quality, organic Bengal, incense-grade wood. This oud is multilayered, deep and regal, containing spicy nuances, and is of a quality that has most likely never been used in mass perfume making. It is then coated in Indonesian cocoa, exotic saffron and soothing cinnamon, further increasing its depth.
The base is built of one-of-a kind Java vetiver absolute extracted in 2010. This is a rare material with a thick, smooth aroma that is unusually deeper than any vetiver I have had the pleasure of experiencing thus far. It is heavy, with a velvet touch of earthy chocolate, dry tobacco leaf nuances and a rich, resinous, slightly smoky feel. It is further boosted and fixed with tolu balsam and the finest labdanum absolute from India.
Wild Siberian deer musk maceration pervades this thick oriental blend. Legally harvested from a huge, highly-matured deer, this musk displays a raw and wild scent with distinct, sweet, dark chocolaty qualities that perfectly match the personality of this composition.
This blend falls into the same category as our previous oriental star called Ottoman Empire and is the current personal favorite perfume of Russian Adam.
Walimah, a marriage of heady florals and masculine, slightly animalic notes, can be enjoyed by both genders equally. It is especially recommended for those in love with sumptuous, floral, sophisticated oriental blends. Available in EDP and Attar concentrations.” – a note from the brand.
Walimah was launched in 2017.

OOooooooh… An animalic magnolia that will turn later into soft oud with tropical champaca.
It has huge doses of magnolia with few of champaca, and hints of vetiver. Bits of tobacco, lapdanum, and jasmines. I can’t detect any oud, saffron, chocolate, or cinnamon some balsam is there but no oud at all.
This is quite impressive as their other creation, i can sense quality at it’s peak, and i am very impressed with what they came up after the previous gems.

I really love this house. I go out of my way to get decants of every release. Although Walimah isn’t something I’d go out and buy or wear on a regular basis, it is still something to behold. The florals are indeed the main player, but the earthy notes (vetiver, balsam, oud) add such a beautiful nuance.
I just get a really nice old-school vibe from this. Not old-school as in dated; old-school as in a perfume that was made like perfumes were made before restrictions and over-commercialization took over the industry. I could see vintage enthusiasts loving this house.
Another winner from Areej Le Dore!!!

Florals Steal The Show:
As strange as this sounds…I’ve sampled this repeatedly but it opens up …reminiscent of grape kool-aid but then shifts quickly to the most realistic white/yellow narcotic and crisp floral with the slightest hints of chocolatey musk. I loved the opening and the mid which then reminded me of the cleanest sheets just out of the drier. That scent of the florals passing through the open windows in the summer. Fabric softener + realistic florals intermingling. Unfortunately, the final phase was a real turn off for me. The end result was extremely floral, feminine, and that’s it. I couldn’t detect much more than the florals at this point. I really couldn’t understand the hype in this scent. Sample before purchasing unless you are into dominant florals. Had this stayed like the opening or even the mid, I would be all over it buying a full bottle and a backup. While I do respect this fragrance and I appreciate all of the naturals that went into this composition, I didn’t like where it went. I went from being excited to disappointed within a matter of 45 minutes.

You’re in a thick jungle that’s sweating an ancient, dusty broth of pungent Amazonian flowers and insects. You’re in an antique shop in Thailand littered with old wooden furniture caught in time dripping with syrupy sweet resins and foreign odors. You’re witnessing the embalming, the reconstructing, and the pampering of the body of an elderly village queen who recently passed away. Walimah by Areej Le Doré.

A Floral Oud like none other that has ever been created before or will ever be created again, this painstaking labor of love (read the processes gone into making this treasure in the description above) is so heartbreakingly beautiful and resplendent that it almost teared me up as I tested it for the first time. The Champaca Flower enfleurage mixed in with the Oud is probably as romantic as we are going to get in modern perfumery. To this beautiful mix are added natural deer musk, labdanum, vetiver, magnolia, peru balsam, labdanum, cinnamon, saffron, chocolate and tobacco leaves. The whole feeling is like being in a flower laden forest. Everything is natural and beautifully distilled from natural sources. Unisex (a bit feminine leaning), with moderate to strong sillage/projection and excellent longevity. Pricey because of the natural ingredients but worth every cent. This is a gem like none other and my first foray into this eclectic house which is scaling new heights in creating these amazing new heights in modern artistic niche perfumery. I hear they produce their scents like gems in small quantities, once they are finished with their batch they are not repeated again. This will be a treasure I will cherish in my perfume collection forever. Enjoy!

Like being in a jungle at night and smelling strange blossoms that are heavy with scent. Not like any flowers you know. but like ones you imagine on an untamed adventure. Background smells of fertile growth and steamy opulence add to their ripeness.
Walimah is lush and finely blended so that it is hard to pick out individual notes. Champaka, magnolia, ylang ylang and tuberose form the floral accord, mixed to create a fantasy floral that is amazing. Heavy with a foreign sweetness that draws you to smell it again and again. Reminds me of JAR perfumes, in that Areej captures the essence of blooms just on the precipice of being overripe, right at the moment they are exuding the maximum scent.
Rare ingredients from all over the world, with scent profiles beyond compare, are used and it shows! Walimah’s thick, creamy fragrance oozes with animal magnetism.
