I absolutely love this. Although, I don’t get the typical impression from it that others do. Something about it makes it smell tropical and summery to me, evoking a very strong memory of childhood beach days at Newport Beach. Maybe my brain is connecting it to the type of sunscreen we wore on those days. I don’t know. It is a fantastic scent, though.

I am a massive fan of Solstice Scents. I’m a lover of French style vintagey perfumes like Shalimar and Chanel no. 5 and all the lipstick scent itterations, and I have a large collection of them, so I’m quite picky when it comes to small etailer and oil type perfumes. Solstice Scents fits my vintagy perfume aesthetic and my hard-to-meet standards, and Violet Mallow is one of my favorites, even stacking up very nicely against their incredible dark and incensy blends, some of which are to die for.
The opening twenty minutes or so has a slightly piercing dry sweetness to it typical of all violet perfumes I know, but after some time, I start getting wafts of soft musky vanilla, white chocolate, heliotrope sweetness that’s like having your face brushed by Sally Rand’s ostritch feather fan as she swans around you, performing her famous fan dance. This is sweet powdery innocence that is just exquisitely glamourous, full of grace and sweetness. I feel like I’m nestled in the embrace of angel’s wings when I wear this fragrance, and it puts me in a happy and innocent mood.
The sillage and strength of this oil are pretty subtle, but it lasts for quite a long time. I fairly douse myself in it to get a stronger effect, I love it so much, and for their extremely reasonable prices, I don’t feel a speck of guilt when I do so.

I’m not usually a big fan of floral perfumes but this is an exception. It is very feminine, vintage and delectable all rolled into one.
It’s sweet but not tooth ache sweet to me. The musk and vanilla balance the violet and marshmallow.
The violet and white musk are the most prominent to me
I have the oil, ganache and the glace. I love them all but they don’t all smell the same. I find the glace and oil compliment each other better than the ganache because of the cocoa butter. But…. the ganache is fabulous for dry hands! It’s the best ever!!
I know Angela would love to see her business growing. Her products are the best!
