    LAND:
From the union of the Vetiver and the soil tincture, something so singular is born that it can not be described. No, it is not the classic vetiver, it is not a vetiver of poor quality but it is a vetiver of first quality.
    FLOWERS:
Always present the neroli and the orange flower that give a sublime breath of freshness or warmth depending on when you wear it. Lily present and jasmine, perceptible and delicate. A caress more on the skin, an innocent charm but able to stand out among the greatest.
BERGAMOT: Always, anyway and everywhere. He is there and accompanies the earthy vetiver, the neroli and the orange blossom. The touch of class!
The rest is not very perceptible (but not absent) because the notes of earth, flowers and bergamot are imposed on everything. In my opinion, superior to the Guerlain or to the Gray of Tom Ford (with whom it is impossible not to notice the similarity). Not superior, however, to Encre Noire. It ‘enough spraying on cardboard to please me and another on the skin to fall in love. Monstrous and Intensissima Scia.
A scene: A drop of dew that, detaching itself from a jasmine petal, is thrown onto the wet earth.
Vetiver and earth are music orchestrated masterfully. An olfactory love.
    One color: Brown
    In a word? EXCELLENT!
    7/10

The new version of this little gem re-styliced with the same flask, label and stopper of Agua Fresca line its called Agua Fresca Vetiver instead of Vetiver Hombre only.
Now is a mutted reformulation that fades away and leaves no trace shortly.
It’s such a shame to see how year after year Puig destroys each greatest work they made in the latest years, specially from the 80’s and 90’s.

This one redefined my love for vetiver Fragrances. It has such a perfect blend of earthy smell of first rain, sophistication and citrus freshness. Don’t know what occasion this one would suit best, I mostly wear on days when I have meeting scheduled in morning but I don’t want to wear suit. Formal shirt, trousers without tie. This smells of such calm confidence. I take an extra dab on my wrist /cuff for moments when things get heated and you need something to calm you and step out of it all. Sniff the wrist and you are good.
It’s very very different from Encre Noir (my another love). This is lighter while EC is heavier smelling, this one is calming while EC is intense. I Don’t think i can carry EC with casuals like this one.
And its Longetivity works great for me. 6+ on skin, 12+ on shirt collar. Can find sometimes even 1-2 days later when taking shirt for laundry. Absolutely love it.
I got myself a 60ml bottle. I have around 20% left and I can’t find a new bottle anywhere in India. 🙁 If anyone knows where I get find this one here do PM me. Have found Agua Fresca by AD, Planning to try that out too.

This is one of the best and most unique takes on vetiver that i know. Its fresh, its floral, its earthy, a little bit like a wet soil , its green, bright and gray at the same time. I just love it. A floral-earthy vetiver.
Its a Puig product, so you can be sure you are getting a quality product to a more than reasonable price. Its pretty versatile too. To me, its not only a perfect fit for the summer and spring, its also a great scent for the fall. Its not even a pure day scent. Its always been a pleasure to wear it on summer nights, sitting outside of a bar having a drink or relaxing in a lounge bar.

Ok, I can relate to both the good and the bad comments below regarding this.
First off, I’m a big vetiver-lover, so I was intrigued to find this perfume reviewed here and I rapidly blind bought it.
I get the vetiver (pro) but also a floral, sweet scent (con), which I’m not sure fits the vetiver.
My warhorses, featuring a darker, more masculine vetiver will always and forever be Encre Noire and Wonderwood by CdG.

I’ll cut to the chase – I love this vetiver fragrance. I got interested in vetivers after sampling L’Occitane’s Vetyver and wanted something less pricey. A bit of searching turned up Adolfo Dominguez (AD) which is less citrusy (and better in my view) than L’Occitane’s.
I have sampled Tom Ford Grey and Guerlain’s vetivers in comparison when wearing the AD and they’re close enough for me. The AD is lighter than Encre Noir, which has a heavy kick of wood and moss in the base notes. The only downside with AD is that the longevity could be better. I’m going to experiment layering with vetiver essential oil to see if that helps longevity. An excellent and relatively affordable vetiver option.

I’m not impartial here. I simply love this scent. It is a great combination that makes me feel fresh and ready, a good all-rounder. It may feel a bit too much for work, but give it couple of hours and it gets more soapy clean with more flowery touch, yet keeping alive the masculine sharpness with it. Great for party and night, great for intimacy and activity, great for work and meetings, though my advice would be to put on a bit less. Longevity is good and value for money invested is secured.

The fragrance starts quite strong and pungent remaining this way for about 1-8 minutes, you can definitely smell a strong alcohol note while at the same some powder, babershopy, green, spicy and definitely vetiver notes. The vetiver is not so soft and green but it is not as dark and complex like in Encre noire, it is in the middle of the road and a bit spicy to be honest…at the end, it keeps being vetiver, so if you do not like vetiver fragrances, try this before you buy it.
Since the same beginning and almost till the base, you can also feel some barbershop vibe (spicy menthol aroma) and an earthy quality to it that becomes a bit more pronounced after the first 30 minutes (earthiness of the vetiver I guess). It does not smell dated, not too modern either. It should perfectly fit the more professional environments and persons over their 25. It is not a bad fragrance and again, it smells good. It is worth of a blind buy if you find it at a great price…(less than 20 euros) and if you are into Vetiver fragrances in their fresher, spicier forms. It has not been my best blind buy but certainly not the worst either. I would wear mugler cologne during the spring and summer days and this one would better fit more formal occasions and nights in general (not in winter). I am satisfied with the purchase.

It is like mixing Creed Original Vetiver and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Starts off with a great neroli note and starts mixing with an earthy but clean vetiver.

A very deep and earthy fragrance with top notes of vetiver and leather.
Very masculine , best in spring . Bad sillage and moderate to long duration .
Recommended for age 30 and older (features old school )

Tried this at a friends place, now I want it for myself. Beautiful, elegant fragrance. There’s a heavyness to it that makes it more of a spring fragrance than a summer fragrance, in my opinion. For a lighter, more summery version of this, try “Cologne” by Mugler.

It’s a very nice, rich fragrance. But that masculine, kind of ‘barbershop’ note makes it hard to pull off by someone under 25 in my opinion.

Yet another blind buy success thanks to my fellow Fragrantica fragrance lovers!
I have just gone out into my garden (in England UK) where it is damp and autumnal, fallen leaves and moss everywhere and immediately get some of the notes packaged in this attractive bottle.
I also detect the soapy barber’s shop feel, locked into a smooth, slightly earthy, high quality potion. There is an unmistakably sophisticated, masculine European feel to this one, and I agree with some that this is versatile enough for most occasions. I don’t mean to plagiarise an earlier reviewer, but I imagine myself wearing this whilst sitting, sipping a “café con leche” watching the world go by when I travel to Lanzarote again in a few weeks time 😉
Whilst there is a similarity in style to Guerlain Vetiver, Kenzo Boisee, Encre Noir and Chopard Noble Vetiver (the vetiver perhaps?!!), this stands on its own as a proud and unique contribution to a fragrance (and/or vetiver) lover’s wardrobe.
At as little as £16 for 60ml and £24 for 120ml online, it’s well worth a blind buy. I’m going to buy another bottle!

Adolfo Dominguez makes quality fragrances simple as that. This has an outstanding long leather base with fresh, herbal and soapy notes. Well played Señor Dominguez, well played.

Pure Vetiver all the way, clean and fresh. Amazing sillage, great projection. Elegant, fresh and long lasting. A superior fragrance.

One of my favourites! Excellent sillage(pending on skin type) and longetivty too..works best with tanned or olive skin, about 6 hours..Very elegant and fresh redolence..Its a shame they discontinued this one!..

Nice. A fresh, masculine and clean vetiver. It’s definitely on the brighter side, a bit soapy and aromatic, and ultimately, for me, a little bit boring. It’s very good for the price however, and I’d choose it over Guerlain’s Vetiver or Carven’s any day of the week. It performs the green and clean vetiver quite effectively, managing to smell classic without coming across stale.
Thumbs up for this solid spring and summer vetiver from Adolfo Dominguez. If I was a bigger vetiver fan I’d probably still own this, as it has no particular flaws and seems to accomplish exactly what it set out to do.

Great note pyramid! Does it smell that unusual? Not at all actually. It’s like combining TF Grey vetiver and Mugler’s cologne. What I like about Vetiver Hombre is that fact that it keeps the vetiver earthy and doesn’t try to “freshen” it up. Also, this projects better than most vetiver fragrances I’ve worn so dismiss the projection comments and the longevity comments could be skin issues. I get 3 hours of good projection and about 7 hours longevity with this. Great fragrance!

Blind buy here as well. Such a huuuge disappointment! This scent is totally without any projection. It stays same for few hours and then fades away. So boring, so weak. I will take it on the toilet.

Vetiver Hombre is my first choice in vetivers. I have both Creeds, OV and the 1948 re-release, they are both very good, but Vetiver Hombre is my first choice. I do wish it would lost longer. with all the comments about it not lasting long I dont know why AD doesnt do something about it, but even with the short life, I love it and am always stocked up. I live in the USA so when I find a place I can buy it I buy 2 large btls. of the EDT and the After Shave. If you love Vetiver, buy Vetiver Hombre.

I wore Vetiver by Carven since ever I can remember (Still one of my favorites) for its manly/ woodsy/soapy and clean scent. While in Madrid’s airport I was at one of the perfume shops and tried AD Hombre Vetiver and that was it! I was hooked and so was my wife. We bought it and brought to the US and have run out of it since w/o being able to find it anywhere in this country. Guess I’ll have to wait until we go back to Spain. Shame because this men’s cologne is the best I ever encountered. If anyone here knows where I can order it in the US, kindly let me know. Please.

A very clean vetiver scent. A good and worthy contribution by Adolfo Dominguez to the vetiver-fragrance market.
Its suitable for warm weather(preferably daytime). Its only drawback is its less than average projection and longevity (it could have been a very good fragrance otherwise). Another facet of the scent which irritates me is the slightly pungent vibe that i get from it when i try to smell it close on my skin (strange! maybe its just me).
However, all in all its a good vetiver fragrance. Clean and fresh.

A Blind buy:( For me the opening is bad, bur it dry downs to smooth smell. I dont smelled vetiver ever b4. No projection. u got to spray more than 20 spray for projection, that too u might get negative compliments. Some says its like ash smell. I dont recommend it. U try the sample b4 getting it, cos u might hate as me. Not Worth.

I first purchased Vetiver Hombre when I was in Spain a year ago, and it has set the bar very high for those following and I have yet to find anything superior. I have since purchased Guerlain Vetiver and enjoy it, but I find that it is less of a true Vetiver than this one by Adolfo Dominguez, which is a Vetiver as it was meant to be, raw and natural.
Green, earthy and herbal, with longlasting soapy vetiver throughout, this always brings a smile to my face and raises my spirits. Sillage is lowish but it has good longevity, albeit at skin level. Reminds me of a Meditteranean summer, this fragrance is an absolute masterpiece.
