Happy owner of this delicious perfume since today. It was a blind buy based on the reviews here and I’m not dissapointed. It smells very sweet to my nose. A very bubblegummy-vanilla is all I can pick out. But that’s enough for me to love it. I wonder if I ever will be able to pick out different notes in perfumes. If that doesn’t happen, no problem, I won’t enjoy them any less. But sometimes I’m just curious how it smells to people who have a more refined nose.

Huh? Well, colour me surprised! I didn’t think I’d like this as much as I do, as Mancera generally doesn’t do it for me.
All notes combined do paint a sweet picture very faintly reminiscent of bubblegum. On my skin I mostly smell vanilla, tuberose and strong, ripe pear. Lot’s of pear, guys! The pear is not as light and airy as in Annick Goutal – Petite Cherie, but more of a syrupy, canned pear.
It is sweet enough to be really cloying in hot weather.
As most other reviewers have noted, the longevity is excellent and the sillage heavy (at least for the first few hours).
I am pleasantly surprised. I can’t say that Velvet Vanilla is a masterpiece (there’s something synthtic about it) and I can already imagine how much my colleagues will hate it.

This is a VERY strange one for me. I ordered this, thinking this would be my HG vanilla scent! The dry down is a lovely vanilla, but OMG…the first few hours just smell like gardenia on my skin! I love gardenias, but hate gardenia perfumes. This is a very potent fragrance, and while the dry down, end of the scent’s life is awesome…the first couple of hours are very, very strong. Sillage and longevity monster. It amazes me….it seems only the scents I hate or barely like are super strong and last! Figures!

I wanted to try Velvet Vanilla since it had been touted as a bubblegum tuberose with vanilla, 3 notes I love. It was my first Mancera experience, and I’m glad I got a sample on ebay before buying into the hype. Velvet Vanille on my skin starts our with a jumble of notes and gives an impression of a middle eastern fragrance, with a rather unpleasant oud and/or saffron perhaps?, something animalic in it, and not a bubblegum, tuberose, or vanilla that I personally find attractive.

I had an odd experience with Velvet Vanilla. If I smelled it directly on my skin, it actually seemed like a beautiful scent. But the scent cloud it created was quite different from what I got on my skin. I haven’t found that to such a degree with any other fragrances. For my taste, this is a little too heavy on the tuberose. Perhaps worth giving a full day’s wear before forming an opinion on this one.

I really like this. It isn’t “Holy Grail” but a very safe Tuberose Scent. I do agree, Bubblegum Tuberose. The sweet bubblegum, not the wintergreen ones. BUT, on me this is very light. I do not feel like people can really “smell” it on me. Believe me, some fragrances are SO strong on me, I get a headache, even some cheaper perfumes. But this one on me is just a light sweet bubblegum tuberose & that’s it. Maybe others can smell it on me longer, but it just isn’t that strong. Reformulated maybe? I know it wasn’t a fake. It is very well blended. I am glad I have it, but it not worth a repurchase to me. Estee Lauder’s Tuberose Gardenia is one I love, but it’s a BOMB & last for days. This is nothing like that at all.Light, creamy, sweet. Vanilla doesn’t stand out, I guess that is where the sweetness comes from though. It’s safe & pretty.

I purchased this blind, based on the notes and positive reviews. ( And FYI, for those looking for Mancera & Montale fragrances in Canada and the US, visit The Perfume Shoppe Vancouver online. They ship to many places, prices are very reasonable, and they carry niche, hard to find houses).
This fragrance is not aptly named, in my opinion. It’s very much a bubblegum tuberose heavy scent, with a dash of vanilla on the side. I’m not the best at discerning various notes, but these are the two main notes I smell. When I get wafts of this fragrance, I’m very much reminded of Hubba Bubba pink bubble gum.
Velvet Vanilla has seriously monster projection, as with most Mancera/Montale fragrances. It’s also incredibly long lasting. 24 hours + on my skin. When I first received it, I sprayed one spray on a paper towel. Hours later, when my husband got home, the first thing he said when he walked in the door was – did you bathe in your perfume today? Ouch. And the paper towel was in the kitchen! This is how strong it is, so easy on the trigger. I can’t imagine wearing more than one spray with this one, it’s that strong. I also personally wouldn’t recommend this for wear if you’re going to be in an enclosed space, as I imagine it could be too powerful and cloying for some.
So far, it’s a like for me, and not quite a love just yet. I keep waving that paper towel around my nose, trying to figure out how I feel about it. It’s a very well made, quality fragrance, there’s no doubt about that. It’s just SO incredibly heavy and strong, and I think I was hoping for a more vanilla forward frag, so don’t be fooled if that’s what you’re expecting, too. Tuberose is very much centre stage, hence why I don’t think it should be called Velvet Vanilla. Not a safe blind buy, unless you really love tuberose forward fragrances with beastly projection. I also don’t think this is unisex at all – this is very much a feminine fragrance, and the colour of the bottle matches the scent perfectly.
    Edit – April 11, 2018:
This stuff is so incredibly strong, I’m not sure that I can wear it. With one tiny spray, it’s literally all I can smell. It stings my nose and is borderline headache territory. Alas, I still want to like it, and want to give it a fair try. I think what I might do is spray it onto a small cosmetics tray, and dab it into my skin, perhaps under clothes, because one spray directly onto skin is just too much for me, and akin to a punch in the face.

I bought a Mancerra manufactured sample off eBay and glad I got to test this before making a blind buy mistake.
I was excited to try this as some have compared it to Angelique Noire, but on me they couldn’t be more different. I love wearing the Guerlain masterpiece, but find it impossible to do the same with Velvet Vanilla.
Something about Montale/Mancera scents just don’t mix with my chemistry, I really need to stop trying. For me this is so heavy that its headache inducing. It opens as a chemical mess, not a single note smells natural. That seems to be a trademark of Montale.
I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but this is too much of everything on me. I will give props to this brand making scents that have massive sillage and longevity.

    OMG.this is amazing!
I know it’s not right to write a review with a single test but I may run crazy if I don’t share all the love that I’m feeling in my heart!
I love tuberose but I always thought one or two tuberose dominant fragrances would be enough for me.my skin seems to amplify tuberose so even the complex ones, smell like 90% tuberose and 10% all the other notes.so the differences between tuberose dominant fragrances are very slight on me.I already have eight huge bottles of tuberose dominant perfumes so I had firmly decided not to buy another one before going through the ones I already have
When I tested Mancera velvet vanilla,I could see that tuberose is one of main actors in it but I could see that it’s different enough from other tuberose fragrances and I knew that I need a bottle of this amazing juice in my life! Pierre Montale doesn’t know me but I feel he has produced this fragrance just for me.
It opens fresh, fruity, spicy and slightly boozy to my nose and tuberose enters stage since first second.white flowers are there blooming there gorgeous aura but fruits and a dash of spices, cut their white buttery scent and prevent it from covering everything else.
I hate cloves and sometimes don’t like pink pepper and blackcurrent.luckily they play in background and what I can smell the most besides white flowers is pear, mandarin and angelica.I never knew that I like angelica before testing this one.this fragrance is named after vanilla and vanilla is definitely other main actor but it doesn’t overpower other ingredients either.it’s just there making the mix of florals and fruits, creamy and sweet.it’s just so delicious but different with usual gourmands.this is a tuberose-jasmine dessert with vanilla cream frosting and slices of pear and orange used to design it and a touch of angelica and pepper powder and drops of booze sprinkled on top of it.yummy! and I love how it develops from a sparkly, slightly fizzy opening to a smooth, creamy drydown
In the late drydown a velvety, slightly powdery musk shows up.it’s soft and inoffensive and I believe it won’t be bothering for whoever detests musk
Velvet vanilla was a love at first sniff for me.it’s so well blended and balanced that I think wide range of people with different tastes can love it.it’s more exciting than what I expected from a floral fruity.it’s wearable year round and leans towards femininity IMHO.longevity and sillage are AMAZING!
I just can’t wait to put my hands on it but sadly It’s so hard to find here and I’m afraid even if they bring it,it’s price tag would be much more than it’s real price.I wish to find a 60 mil of it which looks like an impossible wish

Is this discontinued, already?! And I just found it! Vanilla and tuberose: probably my 2 favorite perfume notes, and it seems like they’re rarely combined in a dually prominent way. Here is the scent I’ve been wishing for!! Heaven in a bottle. Just snagged the very last bottle on Amazon, I hope it’s legit!! This is set to be my new signature scent

This is one of my main wants right now. The name is very accurate. This is a velvety vanilla scent, but equally tuberose. Together the vanilla and tuberose are so well blended and creamy. This is a quality scent with monster projection and longevity. I see this being perfect for winter or early spring. I also find it more feminine rather than unisex, but it honestly doesn’t matter because whoever wears it will smell freaking amazing!

I’ll start out by saying I had and loved Angelique noire but I ended up selling my bottle because the performance on me was abysmal. I don’t need my perfume to scream or announce my arrival but AN was just too meek on my skin.
So when I heard about how this was getting compared to AN, I thought I’d give it a try. I got my hands on a sample and it really does smell close to AN but on me the tuberose seems to be amplified, mostly dominating the angelica. As the name suggests (not that mancera put a lot of thought into naming their fragrances), this is a very smooth composition – appears to have been very well blended. Performance is off the charts – go easy on the trigger with this one, please!
If you love tuberose, do yourself a favor and get your nose on this one. Had the angelica been a little more pronounced and the tuberose a little less, this would have been a 10/10 for sure but for now I am still deciding if this is a like or a love which will ultimately decide if I get a full bottle. One of the best from the house in my opinion.

This is a lovely bright and creamy vanilla. I find it very close to Guerlain’s Angelique Noire right from the opening. It stays very close to AN for a few hours, to my nose anyway. But they end up different. AN hangs around with it’s vanilla and a little bit of angelica in the dry down, where the Mancera just kind of ends. It’s hardly a budget alternative, but still cheaper compared to AN. Around 40% of the price per ml, depending on where you buy.

I blind purchased this fragrance because of a youtube review I saw. I was worried that it would be too much of a female fragrance but I trusted the reviewers opinion and I went for it. When the fragrance arrived it was LOVE AT FIRST SNIFF. I did not look back. I was ALL IN. I made sure I took a hot shower and used some unscented moisturizer because I wanted to get the FULL EFFECT of this beautiful fragrance. I am a heavy sprayer and I sprayed myself from head to toe. I drove to work and immediately when I walked in the door two coworkers said somebody smells good as I walked past them in the hallway. I stopped in the cafeteria and the cashier immediately asked me what was I wearing. She loved the fragrance and wanted to buy it for her husband. This fragrance is Beastmode, Sillage is massive, Longevity is 16+ hrs. This is a compliment magnet ESPECIALLY FOR MEN. Blind Buy This Fragrance you will not be disappointed.
Update: 4 Gorgeous Model type ladies were in the mall sitting together eating their lunches. I walked past their table and I overheard one of them say, “My God he smells sooo Good. I ordered my lunch and walked past their table to sit down and eat. One stopped me and introduced herself, Diane asked me what was the fragrance I was wearing. She said she really loved it. I told her and I sat down to eat. I asked her to joined me for lunch and she agreed and got her tray of food to sit with me. Her girlfriends giggled while she whispered something to them. We had a great conversation. Needless to say we exchanged numbers and now she is OFFICIALLY MY GIRLFRIEND. I just purchased 2 more bottles of Velvet Vanilla one for Diane and the other for myself. WOMEN LOVE VELVET VANILLA GUYS YOU BETTER GET A BOTTLE.

This is a typical feminine scent. No way can it be worn by men. Certainly not by ones who prefer the usual masculine fragrances.
The fragrance, however, is quite strong.

Wow! I’m so glad I tried this when I was helping my Dad look for a perfume that he liked from a sample an SA gave him from prior purchase. (Off-topic: I wish Mancera will label their samples. My Dad was looking for it for two months) I wouldn’t have test it on my own because of the name. How will I know it’s the TUBEROSE heaven I was looking for? Lesson learned: Don’t judge a perfume by its bottle and label.
Velvet Vanilla is straight out gourmand. A bubblegum tuberose. It is extremely long lasting with heavy sillage and nuclear projection so a little goes a long way. The price is so reasonable. I could cry. I’m waiting for a 60ml bottle to be available bec 120ml seems to be too much when I need only so little.
Edit: my self control is an eggshell affair. Who cares if I can’t finish a whole battle of this in three lifetimes anw?

I’m obsessed with tuberose. It’s my signature note. When I tried this perfume I didn’t look at the notes and just from the name I thought it was going to be a velvety vanilla fragrance, but as soon as I sprayed it I smelled tuberose immediately. It’s a creamy silky velvety tuberose with Lots of Angelica. It’s deep, even a little dark. I also can smell pear and clove with a boozy vanilla. This fragrance blows me away it’s delicious and just about edible. In my opinion it’s one of the best tuberose fragrances I own and that I’ve tried. It is a big compliment getter. when I wear it I get compliments from people around me all the time even hours after I’ve sprayed it and I think that it’s mostly worn off or a skin scent. I get waffs of it all day long. I can smell it in my hair and on my skin the next day. It lasts at least 24 hours on my skin and sillage is an arm’s length and then becomes a nice fragrant bubble around my personal space , maybe even a little bit farther than that. I don’t have any complaints about this perfume at all I think it’s perfect. I’ve been very pleased with the Mancera house. They make high quality, long lasting beautiful perfumes.

First try at any Mancera with this today.
Opens within a HUGE mandarin. I have never had citrus last like this, ever. Hours later it is still going strong, only now with black currant joining in.,
I’m not sure why vanilla is the note mentioned in the name as it isn’t vanilla-y on me.
It’s a perfect summer perfume, and as simple as I make it sound, I love it!
    Great longevity too.

A very pretty fragrance. A very nice smooth blend of vanilla, fruit and tuberose. The angelica is the saving grace that prevents it becoming cloying. Angelica is so airy and bright and one of my favourite notes. Something strange happens in the last hour and it goes a bit awry. It smells like deodorant!
This is borderline gourmand. There is something familiar about this lovely. R Piguet fragrances did spring to mind.
A very feminine fragrance that you would dress suitably feminine for. There is nothing formal about this fragrance. Its casual and romantic.
Not fb worthy for me though as longevity and sillage very poor on my skin.

Velvet Vanilla opens with very fresh Tuberouse/Pear/soft pinkpepper-mix on my skin. I can’t smell the Vanilla at all. First impression – a very fresh and strong Tuberouse/white-flowery scent. I can see some have compared this one to Guerlain Angelique Noire – there is no AN in sight, but Velvet Vanilla stands on its own feet, a great scent I think. When I woke up next morning I could still smell this great whiteflowermix on my arm. So if you love Tuberouse or white flowers – catch this one. Other strong Tuberouse-scents are Fracas Piguet, Madonna Truth or Dare or La Prairie Life Threads Silver – if you love them, you will love this one to.

Scent – opens with angelica & jasmine, along the way fruits subtly introduced and in its final moments musky tuberose & vanilla.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 24hrs consistently.

This was recommended for me by a wonderful man and I blind bought it for that reason.
It’s sweet and honestly smells good enough to be edible. The notes of orange, pear, clove and vanilla probably have something to do with that, making it almost-gourmand. I also love the Angelica and tuberose, which is somewhat off my usual scent-path. Sillage and longevity are extremely excellent, as with most of Mancera’s line.

How is it possible that no one has reviewed this fragrance? It must be because it is so hard to find here in the U.S.
People, this fragrance is amazing! When first sprayed, I feel like I can smell every single note listed, top to bottom. The notes are so well blended though, that it doesn’t in any way smell overpowering, just heavenly. I can smell the fruit, and the flowers, with a hefty dose of angelica, which I love. The tuberose is very delicate, and adds sweetness. The clove adds the perfect touch of spice. I do wish the fruit would stick around a little longer, but that rarely happens in any perfume. The drydown is all about the angelica and the vanilla, and yes, it is indeed velvety. It is also in the drydown, about an hour after application, that you’ll think of Angelique Noire. This does smell a lot like AN, but softer, less sharp, and a whole lot cheaper. I made the mistake of spraying this just before bed when I first received it, and it kept me awake because it smelled so good. This is my new favorite fragrance.
Sillage is good, and longevity is at least 6-8 hours on my skin.
If you’re looking to buy this, there is someone selling it on Amazon, and I’ve seen it on the ausliebezumduft.de website.
