Description

Burberry Her, a new pillar fragrance for the house, comes out in October 2018 and is the first one whose packaging is marked with the new logo.

Burberry Her is designed to capture the youthful spirit of the city of London, the creative and eclectic metropolis; a spirit that is lively, adventurous and brave. It is made for those women who feel Londoners at heart. The composition is signed by Francis Kurkdjian as his interpretation of a floral-fruity theme with gourmand undertones. Crushed berry fruit from the top is combined with middle notes of violet and jasmine, based on woods and amber.

“Her Eau de Parfum by Burberry is unique because it is a memorable signature. To achieve that, you need a strong accord, an olfactory story that translates your vision.  The combination of these sunburst berries and British spirit blended with the ambery musky accord brings this very unique signature. You can immediately recognize when someone is wearing it. It is a signature scent.” – Francis Kurkdjian

The face of perfume is model Cara Delavigne, representing her home city. Burberry Her is available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I sampled this in-store and initially found the light, fruity scent refreshing. However, as the day progressed, I was disappointed that the mid- and base notes hadn’t developed on my skin. The berries were still front and center, which is impressive in a way because I feel that fruity notes are often the first to dissipate. For a woman in her early 30’s, I felt that this scent was too immature for me; it lacks the complexity I desire. I would recommend it for those looking to channel a more youthful vibe. Since I prefer to smell more like a woman than a teenager, I have to pass on this one.

This is an example of a perfume that smells so great in the bottle or on a paper strip at the department store but then completely changes when it hits the skin. It’s very strawberry flavored candy like with a mature spin (in my opinion those things do not combine well). The mature scent comes in more during dry down but that still doesn’t smell good to me. Overall, a fail for me.

It’s a fresh creamy strawberry from the beginning until the end. No other berries have been detected. The fragrance warms up in the dry down and indeed reminds Burberry woman. Nice combo of classics and modern trend!

If you want to know what smells like this new perfume, and they do not have it in your closest perfume shop, go to the next supermarket and take a strawberry flavoured yougourth. It is just the same, synthetic, vagely lactonic sweetness, but with something caustic and abrassing. It smells like some sort of hospital dessert mixed with sanitizing foam. Horrible. Screechy. Annoying. In one moment, it emerges some kind of bland white musk, the white musk that it is used in cheap body lotions, and a sort of artificial oakmoss, obviously with the purpose of making it more mature and elegant, but it is even worse because it does not suit with the rest of the components.
    Hideous.

This Smells just like Burberry Women. Same exact scent in the dry down.

Just a really sweet sugary and synthetic strawberry.
So sad because this could have been a good one.
I expected much more from Kurkdjian (even though I don’t like all of his creations).
On my skin it smells as if the oakmoss tries to come through after a while but it mixes so weirdly with the strawberry..
The smell of overly sweet synthetic strawberries wins.
You might as well get some Escada summer scent and be better off.

I was expecting to hate this. I really don’t consider myself a lover of fruity perfumes, and I was really thrown off by the red berries in the top notes. Surprisingly, I actually really like this. It’s a sexy cocktail of earthy spices and fresh fruit, very cozy and very wearable. It’s mature and sophisticated, even with the sweet and girly strawberry being quite prominent. It is light and breezy compared to most Burberry scents, so I do think a summer release would’ve been a better idea.

Ever seen that sad piece of cotton candy that doesn’t make it out of the metal bowl and remains stuck to the side, compressing with each spin into a hard, stale lump of sugar? Burberry Her.

I smelt this today for the first time. The first thing that struck me was this smells similar to the current Burberry Woman from 1995. It had the same rubbery, smokey, peachy vanilla. To me it’s unmistakable. It then takes on a fruity cherry and strawberry vibe like a Maoam fruit chew. This is not a terribly generic smell. The only time I’ve smelt anything like this previously was with the aforementioned Burberry Woman. I think this will be a love it or hate it fragrance. For the time being it has me intrigued. By the way it’s potent and long lasting – it has easily outshined the Coco EDP I tried on my other wrist.

On my skin it opens with a light pink sherbet that gets muddied with this clammy skanky skin note… I think that is the musk and oakmoss, the pink sherbet note is very girly and childish really and the skanky note is just not good.. dewy skin like notes are tricky but can and have worked in other scents like Rosabotanica but it just doesn’t here.. not for me anyway. Burberry’s take on these notes don’t work on their own or together.. and I’m kind of insulted as a London girl by this disappointing scent.
On clothes however it’s much better, the pink sherbet not is brighter, fresher and a little more adult… just a little., it really is a very light, young carefre scent. I would wear it but not on my skin
Sorry I’m in two minds.. on this scent.. starting to really like how it is on clothes now, but dislike it on my skin

Very sweet and berry like to begin with but once it settled it smelt very Arabic perfume like on me.
Very long lasting with good sillage. I can even smell it on my clothes a day later.
I preferred the opening notes much more. Not sure what it was, but the dry down didnt appeal to me on both skin and clothing.

I tested this from a paper sample in a Macy’s ad… smells like strawberry chapstick, but in a good way! I love light, fresh scents and strawberry is my favorite note. Ordered the rollerball and will report back =)
Got my rollerball….I love this! It’s reminiscent of the 90’s to me for some reason, but the strawberry chapstick type note is so good! I love light fruity scents, so this is right up my alley. I’ll be purchasing a full bottle! I went to Macy’s and the entire perfume department smelled like this perfume…it was wonderful! I guess that’s what they were pushing that day. It’s really fresh and uplifting.

Why are most of the new fragrances so disappointing?!
This smells like fruit and the scent disappears so fast. So forgettable, what a shame.

I admit I only sprayed some of this on a card at Ulta. My first impression: another “girly” fruity mess. Pass.

Like floating on a soft berry cloud. Blind bought the rollerball & loved it enough to buy the body lotion & the 1 oz spray.

Generously used the rollerball sample today. Immediately was hit with the smell of those clear flavored lip glosses of my childhood. Specifically the strawberry one. It was kinda fun, but I just can’t imagine owning this fragrance. One thing I can say. I put the fragrance on about 12 hours ago, and it’s still sticking around. It’s a woody slightly fruity skin scent now, but it has good projection for about 5 hours. Kept catching whiffs of that fruity ness for much longer than I usually get fruity that isn’t also Patchouli.
Edit: I see that patchouli is listed. Well, I don’t smell Patch at all! Which is a plus for me as Patch generally turns to a stinky dirt on my skin.

The first blast of it, I got just very sweet strawberry. And then it went straight to woody and musky strawberry. It did have a little light undertone of something similar to a “nutty” scent (could be “rubber”!?!?). On that regard, it does share a very slim signature dry down that is similar with other Burberry perfumes for women. HER is just ok and not interesting enough for me to own a bottle. I have so many fragrances that have sweet strawberry/fruits like HER already, and they are better. HER does remind me a little bit of Marc Jacobs Daisy Love (which I got at a fraction of the price, by pure luck. And I got it because of the cute bottle). The bottle design of HER is also just ok. Nothing jumps out of this new release that tends to win me over, or peaks my interest, except for its brand. However, its sillage and longevity are quite good though, I admit.

The pastel pink color and the packaging match the fragrance perfectly. It smells like a slightly candied strawberry with some baby powder in the background. It’s a very pretty, subtle scent, which thankfully stands out from the boring sweet disasters of the recent years (LVEB and co, I’m looking at you). It’s girly in a good way, you just feel pretty in it without trying too hard. Makes me think of Miss Boucheron and Armani’s City Glam.

I like Her Burberry, it’s a vibrant fresh fruity sweet fragrance made for the young and adventures woman , I also like Cara Delevigne as the model for this scent . ,,,and who doesn’t like Francis Kurkdijian as a perfumer ? This to me is a very modern cute perfume , a vibrant ,fruity floral , the top notes are all kinds of yummy berries , like a smoothie or vape juice , in fact this perfume reminds me of the fruity sweet berry vape juices my boys use. Funny thing is the bottle is the shape of most vapes lol
So I like all the berries in here , especially strawberry. This makes an easy to wear daytime scent for a woman my age , smells like a shampoo or shower gel. But for a younger girl this would make a great signature.
It’s nice that vanilla and violets are part of this berry scent ,making it almost like a violet hard candy in the drydown.
I am not sure if I will purchase it. It’s not love for me but I do like it.

Aww, this is a really cute perfume. I’m actually surprised they packaged it in such a grown-up bottle; I would have marketed this to young ladies, perhaps as a first scent. It smells very light and fruity (I get mostly strawberry), quite juicy, and sweet enough while not being a toothache. Definitely a pale pink/purple sort of scent. I like that the drydown isn’t too harsh and woody or musky. It stays pretty delicate and clean.
I only tested a spritz or two of this on my arm, and I don’t think the sillage is anything to shout about, but longevity seems OK, considering what a light scent this is.
I would not really buy this for myself, even though I really love the flask-inspired bottle, but I might pick it up if I see it on the cheap. [Edit: An hour later, I’m getting violet candy in the drydown…umm, I might buy this.]
Final note: I don’t understand the styling of the Burberry logo on the box and bottle. It’s totally different from the previous logo, and totally different from the new, blocky sans-serif logo. What gives?

i wanted to like this perfume – it sounded fun & zesty but sadly like so many new ones its getting returned lol……..i dont get any of the beautiful base notes – usually vanilla , musk , amber & cashmeran smell really good on me & u can actually smell them – but in this scent they dot even exist – very strange – and i dont get violet or jasmine at all either where did they go – oh i know they blew away after literally 5 minutes lol after 5 minutes all i could smell was something sour & kind of alcohol’y i guess the stand out on me was the sour cherries & alcohol bummer wanted to like it too 🙁

This is not Burberry – it’s BUR-BERRIES: fresh ripe strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Fortunately they never become sticky. Commercial – a crowd pleaser- but lovely, just as a cup Twinings’ Wild Berry Tea.

I don’t remember any memorable scent made by Francis Kurkdjian for Burberry. The new one doesn’t sound promising as well. The packaging, the logo, the advertising, everything looks so tired, boring and lacks everything you might expect from the brand new pillar fragrance from the major fashion house.

Perfume is light and fresh with 0 staying power. Tried it at Macys a few days ago. The bottle is very pretty but the juice nothing special.

So nice but so short lived… last 10 min 🙁
Will try again oversprayîng in Sephora just to make sure and have no regrets…

I get Baccarat immediately which is no surprise since Francis Kurkdijan is the nose of both. Actually a good catch, if you don’t feel like overpay.

I think if Burberry Rhythm Brit and Mon Guerlain had a love child, this would be it. The opening on me is rather aromatic, zingy and fresh. The the sweet notes come in; I get the “strawberry candy” as someone else mentioned. I don’t get any oakmoss or woods on my skin. It’s mostly fruity, slightly sweet with the zingy freshness balancing it out.
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a nice, cozy, carefree scent. I’m actually surprised that MFK is the nose on this one as I was hoping for a bit more complexity. I will say that it’s smooth, at least on my skin, as I don’t get any sharpness at all. Longevity and sillage both are moderate for me. I think if you like Mugler’s Innocent, Brit Rhythm or Mon Guerlain, then you might like this one too. It’s a safe scent, so don’t expect anything in your face or unusual.
Overall, we have another brand playing things safe…again.

Can someone please explain to me why so many brands always use cara delevingne ? I get she has the ideal look and is very popular. But I hardly ever see women of color for many brands. Is dark hair and dark skin not worthy of sales to them?? Do they not like the middle eastern, african or spanish look. Do they think we won’t sale???

I sense the strawberry, but not the fresh strawberry. It’s like strawberry flavored candy smell, where there’s no real strawberry, just the flavoring.
The base appears just after an hour or so and it’s getting woody and musky, there’s also a moss note.
My nose says, the base isn’t that feminine, more masculine.
But the strawberry candy note is still there, that’s just weird.
I think they’re aiming at new kind of style with it and that doesn’t suit me very well.

I got a sample , and I wish I could say I like it..no, I don’t even remotely like it..the notes seem to clash, I don’t like the undertone of Her…coming from Burberry, I expected more..
It is for me a case of too many notes, to create a mess of a scent..the sour cherry gives it a bitter undertone, like this isn’t soft, or sweet even…I don’t know, not one for me..a confused scent to say the least, so Is the message behind it..
My cousin is sending me her bottle, I will definitely swap it.

I tried it a couple weeks ago. It’s literally just a Berry Musk with a hint of vanilla. It kinda has that same vibe as Gucci Eau De Parfum II (pink square bottle) with a slight Trish McEvoy Blackberyy Musk #9 sweetness. It’s very light! This would’ve have been a nice release in the beginning of Summer. I’m sure a men’s version will come out in either a Black or Grey bottle since there new Creative Director loves Black.
