Sweet and girly. I do get a slight similarity with ari and also pink friday, but only slightly. I can smell the strawberries, sugar and cream. I don’t find it similar to pink sugar, I had and disliked pink sugar, but really like this.

I mix this with Ariana grande ari. The amount of compliments I got out the other night? Huge. It actually got embarrassing. Felt like a scratch and sniff. Lol
But it legit is a great match.

    I like it, but I don’t love it..There’s a note , that I don’t like.Something about this scent, smells off.

What a beautiful scent. Ive seen it compared to Pink Chiffon but I honestly think Pink Chiffon is such a fruiter, fluffier and with a sickely sweet girly scent, this one smells divine, almost a true sweet creamy dessert. I first bought this in body spray and the silliage was so weak, I literally had to douse myself in it and ran out under three weeks. Velvet Sugar lives up to its name, the edp is stronger in my opinion and you can pick out the scent, especially the coffee note. I hope they don’t discontinued such a nice sweet fragrance.

This is a cute, sweet and vintage perfume and I love it!! Really sweet and juicy plus I gotta say it reminds me of a Nicki Minaj Perfume for some reason!

I like the Body Cream better than the fragrance mist even though I have both. It’s also great for layering with other gourmand or fruity floral fragrances to create your own scent for fun.
That’s the thing I enjoy about BBW, it’s user friendly, anytime of the day if you want to smell nice, and so affordable.

The perfumes smells so sweet and sugary. It always put me in happy mode. I got compliments wearing this perfume. It’s like having a cotton candy but you can’t eat it. But one has to be careful not over spraying it or else it becomes nauseating. The dry down is the same as you spray it on. The vanilla though becomes prominent when it dries down. It’s a wonderful scent which I recommend for teenagers. My brother also likes the smell of it. So much he bought it for me.

Perfect name. Like sugar, it is sweet, VERY, sweet. And, like velvet it is VERY heavy. Too have to wear all the time and feel comfortable.
I fell left out because so many people on here LOVE it. But, it just does not appeal to me at all. Just too cloyingly sweet and heavy.

I have loved this scent since it first came out. It is a very sweet smell, but that’s exactly the kind of perfume I gravitate towards, so it’s perfect for me. The strawberry and sugary notes are the strongest on my skin. I honestly have worn this for day or night, and I think it could easily be worn any season. I have the lotion and perfume and I absolutely love both.

Not a huge fan of Velvet Sugar…next time I visit BBW I plan to exchange this for something else. For me, it is pretty, but cloying…After a while all I smell is the usual BBW sweet musk scent and it is just too much to to take! I like having a whiff of this off someone else, but not on myself ALL DAY…it’s too much!!

I remember the first time i saw this!

I was in the mall with friend
    i stopped mid sentence
    gasped, eyes wide
    quickly shuffled in
    removed lid
    sprayed on wrist
    inhaled wrist until raw
    purchased entire set
drowned self in velvet sugar products
    murdered friend’s nose.
I’ve lost track of how many of these i’ve purchased…

Believe it or not, the fragrance mist is stronger than the perfume. It’s very, VERY light. This isn’t a bad thing either, it’s a great way to enjoy a sweet fragrance without it smothering you.
I do love this; it’s almost as if I’ve bitten into a fluffed up strawberry cupcake, with sweet vanilla icing.
I found that Velvet Sugar goes EXCELLENT with Britney Spears Fantasy, as it mostly consist of white chocolate and cupcakes. Both of these gourmand fragrances harmonize together wonderfully to create a mixture of white chocolate and strawberry cupcakes, with vanilla icing and rainbow sprinkles for the finish. This sounds unusal, as I myself have never actually heard of White Chocolate & Strawberry Cupcakes, but thanks to these fragrances I gotten a chance to somewhat experience it.
Layer yourself up with Velvet Sugar body wash and lotion and complete it with a few sprays of Fantasy. Such a luxurious, mouth watering combination.
PS. They no longer sell Velvet Sugar at Bath & Body Works. It’s now an online exclusive on their official website.

I have the body mist of this and it is just delicious. So fresh and sweet and yummy. I get strawberries and sugar and vanilla and caramel. Such a wonderful combo. The mist actually lasts for a really long time on me as well. I don’t think it is anything like pink sugar it is much more fresh and fruity where as pink sugar is mostly just sweetness. But I do love both.

I love Strawberry as a note in fragrance and im always trying to find that perfect Strawberry scent…its harder than it seems because there arent a ton of perfumes with strawberry as the main note. crazy, right? you would think Strawberry would be in a ton of perfumes. Anyway “velvet sugar” is the best strawberry fragrance i own…right next to “Forever Red”. I LOVE this stuff…smells like strawberry shortcake and its perfect! It works best when you use the shower gel, triple body moisture cream and body mist together for a stronger scent. Im waiting on the eud de parfum in the mail and it will be even stronger.
    I give Velvet sugar a 10.10

Absolutely love this scent at the moment. I am a sucker for sweet, candy scents and whilst in Hawaii i ventured into a Bath & Body Works and picked this up for $6 and fell in love! It’s an easy spray to keep in my handbag and I can use it whenever I don’t feel like wasting my more expensive Pink Sugar.

I agree with others it does smell a lot like Avon Ultra Sexy Pink. This is really sweet (which is perfect for me haha) I love this stuff why didnt I buy it sooner? Lasts a really long time on clothes.

I am really enjoying this sugary sweet fragrance right now! I hadn’t ever smelled it before because I always assumed it would be sweet in a synthetic, cloying way, but I was at B&BW sampling fragrances yesterday and the SA suggested I try this one as I was already trying Pink Chiffon and Paris Amour. Sure enough, I ended up loving it! I wound up getting travel sizes of the lotion & Fragrance Mist in the Velvet Sugar as well as Pink Chiffon and Paris Amour because I just couldn’t make up my mind! I’ll purchase full sizes of my favorites once I’ve had a chance to experience each fragrance individually (my nose gets a tad overwhelmed in the store!) Velvet Sugar is definitely FB worthy so far! If you enjoy gourmand fragrances but don’t want to smell like a Strawberry Shortcake doll, give this one a try!

I love this stuff! I’ve turned away from BBW for quite some time thinking I’ve outgrown it and it’s time to move on to other perfumes.
I smelled this in the store and was taken back! I really enjoy the smell of this. It’s a perfect blend of fruit and sweet yet not overly done and cheap smelling imo.
I initially bought the perfume and that was a waste. The spray part feels cumbersome and awkward to use. I returned it and opted for the body mist instead and MUCH to my surprise they both have awesome sillage and longevity. I use the lotion in the morning and a generous amount of the body mist. I also purchased the travel size of the body mist and the lotion and I leave a beautiful trail of fragrance wherever I pass. I touch up with the body mist once for the day. I don’t necessarily need to do more than that unless I’m just so inclined but this stuff lasts! I get more compliments on it than my usual parfums! The price can’t be beat!
I must emphasize the sillage and longevity of this scent for me. Both are a 10 I’d say. It’s not overwhelming where I knock people out, but I’m told it leaves a nice cloud of fragrance around me, and I get asked what I’m wearing or I’m told “damn, you smell good.” That’s the reaction I want to garner from my fragrance. I don’t like skin scents.

I love a sugar scent and this is no exception! I used to die for MOOD sweet cravings by Victoria secret, but is discontinued. This scent is not a warm as that scent, but more light and fruity with that sugary goodness that I love from it. It does dry down with a more warm musky amber scent that reminds me if that sweet craving I crave! I love this in a body spray and the perfume. The bottle is super cute to boot! I would definitely try this yummy B&B scent that actually competes with my other more luxurious perfumes! Velvet Sugar is definitely my signature B&B scent now!

This smells soooo similar to Avon Ultra Sexy Pink. My manager at work sells Avon as a side job, and she told me she was wearing this yesterday. We also have bath and body works Velvet Sugar lotion in the bathroom at work, and I put it on my hands. Noticed she and I smelled very, very similar! Agree that it smells somewhat like Pink Chiffon, too.

I have the mist version of this scent. It opens up with a blast of tart fruits and it is very similar to Secret Fantasy Midnight by Avon in this regard. This is one reason I like it. Stays tart for a while and later on I get some creamy fruits covered in sparkly sugar. Well that’s the visual I get from this scent. Wanted to smell the whipped cream, Baileys and coffee, but I don’t. I like it very much nonetheless. Silage and longevity are great. This lasts a few hours on me and almost twenty four hours on clothes.

sugar sugar Sugar!!! super sweet but not suffocating. I bought this because a co-worker of mine wore it and I could smell it from a mile away! lasts and lingers (which i love) I usually don’t like B&BW scents because they start to all smell the same and go bad really fast but this is an exception and one of my faves.

*From the B&BW site..Top Notes: Wild Strawberries, White Nectarine, Pear Blossom, Apple Nectar
•Mid Notes: Pink Jasmine, Golden Plum, Red Velvet Créme, Dewy Honeysuckle, Freesia
•Dry Notes: Golden Amber, Vanilla , Tolu Balsam, Caramel, Baileys Créme, Sugared Musk
I mainly smell the red velevet crème,amber, vanilla, caramel, sugared musk & Baileys crème. Its so yummy and long lasting, even more lasting when used with the matching shower gel,lotion/crème.
I got the whole entire set for Christmas back in 2013 and am still in love with it!!! This perfume scent is one of my all time favorites EVER!!!!!!!!!
*My husband absolutely loves it when I wear this perfume*

First of all D4VE that story is a mix of cute and creepy but I think if you buy her more you come off as throughly creepy, don’t stir up her marriage just because you like her scent. Buy yourself a bottle and spray it on a piece of cloth and enjoy it for yourself. That being said I adore this stuff, I only have the shower gel at this point but will be investing in the perfume asap. It’s a typical FF but a bit spicier than the run of the mill FF. I hope the perfume has the longivity that the shower gel does, I can smell it on myself even hours later, it’s light but I can smell it. A better review to follow after I get the actual perfume. :0)

I’m reviewing the Velvet Sugar from a man’s point of view. There is a woman at work who uses this stuff and I just love it. It drives me crazy. Every day I either go up to her or else call her over to me, so I can smell it. She just smiles. I told her I love it, but too bad, she is married. Now she has run out of it, and I am debating whether to buy her more, but if her husband finds out, he might get mad. What should I do?

I love sweet sugary scents like this, so naturally when I was at B&BW, I was attracted to this. I love the strawberries and sugar scent that this gives off. I always get compliments for wearing this and I have stocked up on it in case B&BW decides to do what they always seem to do and discontinue my signature scent.

Such a happy & comforting scent!!! Sugary vanilla with a hint of amber.. sweetness is prominent but very well balanced with other notes which makes it non-offensive even if over applied.
On my skin, the composition of top notes is similar to VS “Sweet & flirty”. As the sweetness settles, the amber pops out and the middle notes reminds me of BBW Sensual Amber. Drydown is identical to BBW Pink Chiffon.
If you’re into sweet frags you will definitely love this!
    Longevity 6/10
    Sillage 7/10
    Scent 9/10

Actually this smells syrupy sweet. Like strawberry syrup. Or sugar covered strawberries dipped in whipped cream that ends up fading into sugar covered flowers. I do get a slight musk in this but you can hardly tell unless you smell carefully because of all the sugary strawberry sweetness. Smelling this could probably give you diabetes!

I tried this in store and ended up with the body spray of this. I’m contemplating the EDP, although from some of the reviews the spray mechanism is dodgy. I will keep my receipt if I buy the EDP.
The body spray smells delicious, in a delicate delicious way. It’s not exactly warm, nor is it very floral. It’s like sugar cubes with a twist of floral.
Now what’s really interesting about this one, is that I can actually smell sugar in it. If you’ve ever munched on a sugar cube ( don’t judge me!) then you know that kind for super intense granulated sugar taste. I can smell that in this perfume, it is distinct.
The rest of the notes are kind of like a floral ”twist’. Not too strong, probably there to lend some more substance to the sugar note. I don’t get any cream or caramel, or coffee(? in the body spray.
The body spray does not last at all. I plan to give the EDP a proper try ( no other sprays on that arm) and see how it goes.
Update: I bought the perfume and used the $10 coupon they always give out. So that was good. I wore it a few times, and the lasting power is slightly better than a body spray. However, it’s really too weak, compared to my other sweet scents.
The bottle, although cute, randomly stopped spraying. I can’t even get 1 spray out of this perfume now. I told one of the sales associates at BBW while making a different purchase, and she asked if I had a ” full bottle” still, and if so they would exchange it. It shouldn’t matter if the bottle is full or not, they need to stand by their product if it can’t spray anymore. Silly sales associate. Overall I regret this purchase but I did save the receipt so back to the store it goes.

My new favorite BBW scent next to the old Warm Vanilla Sugar! I’ve been wanting a strawberry perfume that doesn’t smell overly synthetic and made for a middle schooler and this fits the bill perfectly! The strawberry and whipped cream notes in this are simply delicious! The longevity and sillage are average, as to be expected from BBW fragrances. I only have two real gripes about it though… the old fashioned atomizer spray bottle is more trouble than it’s worth. I had to exchange it TWICE for one that wasn’t defective. I also don’t like how this company always crams cheap nasty musk into all their perfumes. The musk in this one smells SOMEWHAT better than most but still… the musk they use tends to be nasty.

This is probably my second favorite EDT/EDP from Bath and Body Works (and I work there). My first is Forever Red Vanilla Rum. It fits my personality perfectly. Sweet and cuddly. I love the scent of strawberries in it. The sweet smell is more of a vanilla cake-like scent as opposed to something like cotton candy sweet. Oddly enough, though, I only like this in the EDP and fine fragrance mist. The shower gel is like too much strawberry or something sickly sweet, and I don’t like the lotion either. Also, the bottle is SUPER EFFING CUTE!

I have the body spray and the triple moisture cream, and this has quickly become one of my favorite scents. I remember smelling it in the store, and I HAD to have it. It’s sweet, fruity, fun. It isn’t cloying or too young, it’s just right, I’d say.
I don’t smell any of the coffee (at least not that I can distinguish), but I can definitely pick up the strawberry, sugar, vanilla, a hint of amber, and caramel. It’s sweet and yummy, and the combo of body spray + lotion lasts forever on me. It’s a nice scent to layer with, if you want to add a sweet touch to something.

This one is quite a treat. The packaging is really beautiful with the blue ribbon. I actually smelled this several times in the store and thought it smelled amazing. …..it has a great strawberry note in it. I notice the ingredients are kind of different. It has whiskey, coffee and caramel. I love how all the ingredients come together really sweet and smoothly. I especially admire the strawberry in this which is quite realistic. Very similar to Britney spears fantasy except that plays up caramel. Pink sugar plays up the licorice and this gourmand plays up the strawberry. This has a very delicious scent. I love pink chiffon too but I don’t think I’d wear pink chiffon to work. This one isdefinately a bit more mature and I’m not sure why. But to me it is. Maybe because I can smell the fruit verses only cotton candy scent. But this is very candy-ish as well. This is one I’d never get tired of. Would like the edt and a bigger splash plus the lotion. It’s really good. I think that the fruit and the gentleness of this make this approachable for any age.

I love the sweet simplicity of this fragrance. Its like a trip to a bakery on a rainy day. The rich strawberry and vanilla tones create a comforting feeling like your favorite soft blanket cuddly and safe…….. it also reminds me of jelly doughnuts with powdered sugar!!!!

Sweet, juicy, bright, optimistic. Like Nina by Nina Ricci. Sweet, loud strawberry and mouth-watering notes (jasmine, vanilla, sugar, whipped cream) topped off with a strong musk to give it a slightly “hear me roar” feel. Good sillage and longevity.

Am I the only one who finds this flanker and all the rest to smell just like bubblegum? Not that the smell of bubblegum is bad, it’s just that all of these scents seem to meld together and smell almost identical. I wish I could smell what all of you are describing, but sadly I cannot.

I personally think the EDP, and the Mist smell a little bit different from each other. I’ve worn the mist since late November. You can smell more of the notes in the EDP verses the Mist. EDP the notes I can smell are: Coffee, Caramel, Green Apple, Strawberry, Musk, Vanilla, Sugar, Whipped Cream and Plum. In the Mist I smell: Green Apple, Strawberry, Musk, Sugar, Whipped Cream, Plum, and Vanilla. In the mist I can’t smell the Caramel, or Coffee. I like both the smells the EDP, and the Mist. I don’t know what one I like more since I just recently got the EDP. This is my favorite perfume that has come out from Bath and Body Works. This is one of my top favorite 5 perfumes. Overall I give this fragrance a 10/10.

  49. :

Love this one! There are only a handful of B&B frags I admire, and this is one of them. The base is distinctly oriental, musk and benzoin-heavy; the fruit, floral, and sugar-notes are nicely-balanced against each other. I smell nectarine as stronger than the other fruits. Also, there are dark, wood-tones that add sophistication and maturity to this scent. (edit- just noticed balsam of tolu in the note-list- that’s the “dark” note- lovely! also, I sense a hint of licorice…)

After smelling around 10 fragrances at BBW multiple times, I settled on this one. It’s just the right amount of sweetness. It’s very nice and light – overall a pleasing scent for most people I think.

  51. :

    3 out of 5

I smell sugary pineapple with whipped cream on top! A very sweet treat. A lot better than most of their recent gourmand-ish releases. Somehow remains mellow despite the sweetness. It smells different on fabric and skin however. I can smell the florals more on fabric- mostly honeysuckle. Fruity sweet fragrance lovers will probably not regret trying a mini splash. That’s all 🙂

  52. :

    5 out of 5

Best new release from BBW in a long time! It’s sweet, but fruity and fresh enough to where it’s not nauseating. I think it’ll be a sweet fragrance that may also work in warmer weather. It’s a good choice for someone who wants sweet, but scents such as Pink Sugar are a little too much.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Imagine strawberry cream cheese frosting, a sugary musk, and a faint background of warm caramel and saltwater taffy. What I like about Velvet Sugar is not only its sweetness, but how the warm background notes anchor the scent from being pure sugar. It smells like what I expected Pink Chiffon to smell like. I’m very impressed with this scent, and I’d recommend it to any sweet/candy lovers.
On a side note, the “wild” strawberry seems to smell more like real fruit and less syrupy, but it’s hard to say because of how sweet the other notes are. That could just be my wishful thinking X)

I’ve smelled Mad About You which is supposed to be in stores sometime this week. It’s the Valentines collection, when I thought Velvet Sugar should of been for Valentines Day. It’s very similar to Velvet Sugar. I can smell some differences though. I smell the white patchouli, and black current. I think Mad About You is the mature version of Velvet Sugar aimed at a slighty older crowd, than Velvet Sugar is. Overall I give Mad About You a 7/10, because I’m not a huge fan of patchouli, it really depends on how well it goes together with the other notes like how Katy Perry Killer Queen is.

I was excited about this release as all the notes pleased me so ordered blind from the states as uk only has older ones available!Reminded me too much of honey sweetheart which I already own so was a bit dissapointed to be honest, very sweet and musky, too bad its not strawberry enough smelling to my nose, dont think anything will beat pink chiffon, still my number 1 bbw smell! Now that I adore!

This is one of my favorites from Bath and Body Works. It is a typical scent for Bath and Body Works. The lasting power isn’t that great, but it’s still worth the price. I can smell the passion fruit even though it’s not listed in the notes, strawberries, and the musk sugar. I see this one they are keeping around, because there is a perfume of this as well. I really thought it was going to be a limited edition for valentines day, this scent reminds me of a romantic evening out. I’m really surprised with all the notes listed, because I can’t smell all of them. I was curious for awhile what the notes were in this. Overall I give this scent a 10/10, but the lasting power is a 6/10.

Velvet Sugar for me was a much anticipated release. When I first heard bath and bodyworks was releasing a perfume centered around red velvet cupcakes I was practically foaming at the mouth. (Note: Don’t even see a red velvet note on here, but on BBW it says “red velvet creme” in the description.) I have been looking for a fragrance that captures the scent of red velvet cupcakes for a year now, beyonce’s new york NYC was a disappointment to me.
So while going so crazy waiting for this scent to hit the stores I resorted to stalking the bath and bodyworks page and calling in every other day annoying the crap out of the SA’s. When it was finally there I practically tore the bottle apart eager for my sniff…and did it smell like red velvet cupcakes?
    NO.
    Not even a little.
Sooo crushed was I. This fragrance is a sweet sugary strawberry, with plums, and a very generic white floral feel. Is it anything special? Absolutely not. Do I hate it? No, I really don’t. I didn’t hold a grudge even though it wasn’t anything like what I expected it to be. For being a BBW synthetic strawberry scent it ain’t half bad. It makes me feel 16, but the child in me never died. I wear it to work with a smile on my face.
In summary, sweet synthetic floral strawberry and plum. Very average and typical BBW. Okay but not great. I really don’t find it overly sweet, I think the chemical-ness of it might make the sugar more over bearing, but I know so many gourmands that are sweeter. The bottle really does bite. I got it gifted to me at christmas and while it looks so cute the sprayer doesn’t work at all. I decant mine into a travel sprayer to use.

I adore this scent from BBW! It is definitely a sweet sugary scent, but it’s got a luxurious feel to it. Plus the bottle is so cute!
